    This is a hard review for me to write. I have been a fan of WCIII since it came out originally. Frozen Throne booked me into more Blizzard games and eventually World of Warcraft. The game has a lot of lore that matters to me. I played through the games several times over the years and integrated my account the my battle.net account so I didn’t have to keep my CDs and Keys to install it, IThis is a hard review for me to write. I have been a fan of WCIII since it came out originally. Frozen Throne booked me into more Blizzard games and eventually World of Warcraft. The game has a lot of lore that matters to me. I played through the games several times over the years and integrated my account the my battle.net account so I didn’t have to keep my CDs and Keys to install it, I could just install it from the install files on the website. When this Reforged version was announced, I preordered immediately for a chance to relieve the stories with better cutscenes and graphics and more UI choices. My excitement was quickly ended when I loaded up the new version. It is much larger and much clunkier than the original. The graphics are better but nothing else is. None of the promised upgrades to UI or new cutscenes are there. I was really disappointed.

    To make matters really worse, these new files override my old version of the game so I cannot go back and play it the way I remember and I can no longer load it onto a flash drive for portability because it has become about 30gb in size. Definitely not worth the price. I feel the company has given up on making this amazing title great again. Not recommended, but if you can find CDs of the original game, it’s really worth a play through.    … Expand

    Literally cant even refund the game once u have launched it once. Fake gameplay at blizzcon aswell. Literally nothing is in it, so many features removed that was in the classic version

    I grew up with this game, and blizzard turned around and lied to us. They locked down their custom maps behind greedy policies claiming all content as their own, they didn't deliver with the cut-scenes in the campaign having shown us a full cinematic in a trailer and then upon release they just swapped the old assets for the new ones and left the cut-scene more or less untouched, theyI grew up with this game, and blizzard turned around and lied to us. Reforged suffers from a lack of what made the original version great and that was a sense of community. Even starcarft 2 at the time felt more of a community than this with its clans and clan feature. Starcraft 2 had at one point automated tournaments and stats. I have trouble playing the campaign as it often brings me to the result page whenever it finish loading, and it happen very frequently.     Blizzard has had this coming for a while now. Ever since the Dumpster fire that was BFA, the Blitzchung debacle and now this lazy rip-off of a "Game".

    One of the most important games of Blizzards entire catalogue and they haven't got a shred of respect for it or their customers. Blizzard deserves to burn for this attrocious display of laziness and scumbaggery.

They didn't even deliver even half of the promised featured and somehow even more broken than the original release. And don't get me started with the World Editor EULA change. Now any custom map you make is automatically owned by Blizzard without questions asked.

    I was streaming this game and trying to say good things about it by zooming in on the models. . . Then I discovered more problems. WAY MORE PROBLEMS. Like, "being able to see through models," kinda problems. And the "awkward UI with the sides showing the map" problems. And "The humans look like drug addicts" problems. And "The high elves look middle-aged and older" problems. And so. Much. MORE.

    Blizzard stopped letting us run the classic edition. WHY? Feel bad I cannot login the classic BN on the reforged edition. The SC remastered has the BN interface to let us login using our old accounts, but this game doesn't let us do it. I am afraid my old WC3 accounts and records disappear. Feel bad man...

    I played warcraft 3 for 16 years. 16 years. i waited for the remaster for a long time.

    This is disgusting. Lazy no effort. Buchtering custem games I payed for this game for nostalgic reason's only. does not even give me the feeling of the warcraft 3 i loved. the Frame rate feels like a phone game. the mouse lag is horrible the internet connection does not work.     This remaster can be as awful as it wants to be, and make no mistake it is awful - but breaking the original version of the game alongside is not acceptable... and is heartbreaking.

    Me like many blizzard fans I simply ordered the game just believing the inherent high quality of the blizzard games. And I just discovered that the Blizzard I love does not exist anymore. Blizzard has become another money grab scheme. Warcraft III reforged is trash! They destroyed not only the game I loved but the old bnet app. And I also blame the actvision for destroying blizzard.

    Its one thing that the reforged version is not goot, but killing the old version just sucks. There no actual way to play ladder, except for the netease client in China. Reforged killed the old game and its 20 years old community.

I'm not trying to jump on the bandwagon of boycotting Blizzard although I do agree that what they have done recently is some of the worst marketing and decision making I've ever seen. WC3:Reforged is just... Well it's terrible to say the least. The animations are clunky, the units are almost unrecognizable and they feel rushed and uninspiring. we were promised voice acting, brand new cinematics, a downright beautiful game. what we got was an unpolished, rushed, buggy, unoptimized game that feels more like a cash grab than an a remaster. If this is the standard that Blizzard is holding themselves to, then I am deeply concerned for their future games like Diablo 4 and any attempts to possibly "remaster" Diablo 2. This is such a shame. I'd be more upset but honestly I'm just disappointed.… Expand

    Forgetting the copyright issues with custom games, the lack of advertised remastered cutscenes, new voiceover work and altered lore the game is not even up to the same standard of the original released in 2002, it's glitchy , campaign can make you lose without clicking , online servers disconnect , no decent online ladder system and much more. Blizzard dropped the ball with this one.

    Paid $30 to receive a buggier, less accessible version of a game I have owned for 17 years. The graphics are, in my opinion, one of the ugliest things I have ever seen in my entire life. The new UI is likewise something I would expect from an indie dev making his first demo game. Blizzard spent years being known for their excellent polish. Smooth, intuitive and gorgeous UIs were somethingPaid $30 to receive a buggier, less accessible version of a game I have owned for 17 years. The graphics are, in my opinion, one of the ugliest things I have ever seen in my entire life. The new UI is likewise something I would expect from an indie dev making his first demo game. Blizzard spent years being known for their excellent polish. Smooth, intuitive and gorgeous UIs were something they were famous for. The Reforged UI is ugly, awkward, and looks like it was designed for a smartphone screen, or at least 800x600 resolution with its tiny buttons, tiny text, and massive chunks of wasted space.
    If the game were just ugly, I'd probably give it a 4 or a 5, but its horrid visuals are not the real problem.

    Blizzard, still mad about losing rights to Dota, changed their ToS to include that any custom maps users create belong to Blizzard. Nobody is going to put in the work to create a custom map if there's the possibility that their idea will be stolen from them, with no credit given to them at all. Many professional RTS players agree that WC3 isn't a particularly great RTS. WC3's outstanding success and popularity came from the custom map scene, which has been strangled to death before it could be reborn. I would occasionally play normal melee maps in the past, but I bought Reforged specifically to experience the revival of the custom map scene. I thought Blizzard would have learned from SC2 that their invasive ToS will drive away map makers, but evidently not.

    In summary, Warcraft 3 Reforged is a direct, and significant downgrade from the original game, and to rub salt in the wound, the original game is no longer available. One of my favorite games, that I have enjoyed since childhood and have never stopped loving, and would still play even up until last month, is now gone forever, and Blizzard expects me to pay them to access its mangled corpse. I sincerely hope they approve my refund request, and this will be the last time I ever support Blizzard.    … Expand

    Das alte Spiel neu aufgesetzt allerdings in schlecht. Dafür 30 € zu verlangen ist eine Unverschämtheit. Nutzer in Europa können das Spiel innerhalb von 14 Tagen per Gesetz widerrufen. Dafür genügt eine E-Mail an den Blizzard support

    As a Warcraft Fan from the beginning this Game ist absolutely disappointing. Technically ruined, not even the new game but the classic wc3 as well with this rubbish patch. I am not even talking about the promises Blizzard broke relating to the expanded campaign. Options you set will not be saved. Towers and heroes not working properly, wrong colours etc. I cant even start the campaign.As a Warcraft Fan from the beginning this Game ist absolutely disappointing.     The game in it's current state is virtually unplayable. I wouldn't be so upset about it if they didn't decide to migrate the classic version to the new Battle.net service and render that unplayable too.

    - Some single player content is currently broken and unplayable.
    - If you were somehow lucky enough to work on custom games, don't bother. Blizzard will take all credit for your work and not even credit your name.
    - This game, somehow, prevents the original Warcraft III from being playable, so you can't even go back to your original copy, it's been made virtually unplayable. If you install a fresh copy of Warcraft III, you have to make sure it's from the disc, as the game will automatically update if installed from the Battle.net app. After you install your copy of Warcraft III, you can never turn on Battle.net or it will attempt to update your copy of Warcraft III. The single player content for Warcraft III will be untouched and playable, but the online play is no longer possible as old Battle.net servers are gone, and the new servers require the Battle.net app.

    *Don't blame the development team, they likely knew the game was unfinished. Blame the corporate side of Blizzard for rushing the game out to make a last minute revenue gain in Q4 2019.*    … Expand

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
