    The blizzard I knew and loved growing growing up is dead. I was a huge fan, having sunk thousands of hours into their games. But the corporate shills have sunk their claws in, dragged the beloved blizzard out back and shot it in the face. This latest iteration is an abomination and a mockery of the passion and love that blizzards games used to receive.     They killed my baby! No clans, no profiles, no automated tournaments, weird freezes, that whole custom games thing. And as bugs I had a cutscene in the campaign that just got me a black screen and then sent me into the main menu. Then, I play the cutscene again to see it and it starts the next mission. The game went from a complete visual and lore overhaul to a reskin with terrible grafics, non existent animations, lifeless cutscenes, and with performance optimization that would make indie gamemakers laugh.     And we paied for that with 30-40 USD, some of us (sadly) years ago, and with the soul/support of the old game's batte.net support.

    On top of all that, in a world, where whatever the consumer buys, they have the right to refund it, Activision trying to hide the choice of refund below the bullsit of a system they call customer support, and on top of that, banning forum posts, that would help people trough it.

    If you haven't yet, please don't buy this game. If you want to relive the Warcraft 3 experience, just pirate down the originals, and play them trough. The only thing you'd miss out on, is unbearable performance, and terrible grafics/animation.
    And if you are there, unless you are deepli invested in other Blizzard titles, i'd just delete the battle.net app, and leave the whole company to be until they sort out themselves, and turn away from this greedy, company focused state they have been in since the Activision-era.    … Expand

    DON'T BUY PLEASE. Reforged was supposed to add a lot to a already fantastic game, not to cut features that were already on the game. And to make things worse they banned my account for asking in the forums how I can get a refund. TY blizzard, you ruined a perfect game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After having preordering the game back when it first became available I've been eagerly awaiting it's release. I have never played warcraft 3 before and was eager to try it after watching others play. The fact that it was released without any form of ranking system is unforgivable it basically means I will not win any games for a long time. I know knew I would suck but the fact that I cannot play with other new players is the worst feeling ever. I'm not going to try for a refund and risk being banned iLl just got on this and hope it gets better after some patches I will never preorder a blizzard game again.… Expand

    They removed old features from the game, even if you didn't buy reforged, it completely broke, especially a huge portion of custom maps not working.

    Don't buy it, you'll only be paying for a bad re-skin that objectively made the old game worse for everyone.

    On an nVidia 2080 RTX Super the game stutters, crawls! The graphics are blurry (At the highest resolution setting and 120hrz! The game is ruined - most likely for a very VERY long time.     This game actually removed the old version of the game from online play, and if you patched classic Warcraft 3 with any of the recent patches your old version of the game will actually be uninstalled.     I tried this I really really did. I was hoping beyond hope that they didn't screw over the game like they have before. my hopes were dashed. Cut scenes where completely missing from what they promised. The Graphics were barely up to par with a remastered version much less reforged.

    This really seems like just a cash grab to get your money. I refunded it.

    I was very much looking forward to the "remaster". While the game looks "better", its a far cry from what Blizzard had showed and advertised. It is a remaster in all but technicality and it is just plain disappointing.

    The same thing people said - not the same thing as blizz promised on blizzcon 2018...
    The only thing they did - new 3D models.

    I am young, 17 but when I was just a kid my dad played the original warcraft 3. This was the first ever game I played!

    So many memories ruined by this reformed edition of warcraft 3.
    It is buggy, I can barely keep a constant framerates. The graphics are still horrible. People always spam horrendous messages in global chat

    I'm going to take a little time out of my day to warn people away from this game, because when they updated the game to Reforged, they also broke the original WCIII game download. So now, if you want to play the original WCIII, you have to download the Reforged version, which is JUST the better graphics.     So you're basically getting a non-functional (for most people) Warcraft III. I am able to play it and I am not impressed. Hell, 5 missions into the frieakin' Human campaign the character portraits stop moving their damn mouths, I discovered today. Huge lack of polish and QA. I will say that the game is just playable, but all the cutscenes are the same. It's just WCIII redone with WoW models scaled down basically. Which to be honest, sounds cool, but it's really not.

    Do not purchase under any circumstances. I was gonna give this a 1, but Blizzard has shafted me SO HARD over the past 5-7 years with WoW expansions and timegating that I just wanna crap all over them. So be it.    … Expand

    Rubbish game. They still lie on their website about features that aren't in the released game. For instance, they haven't updated the UI, nor updated cutscenes aren't in the game. And they don't accept refunds. I call this game Warcraft III: Refunded. And now they own the intellectual property of all created custom maps. They are so greedy at Activision Blizzard.

    I play Warcraft more than 20 years. My game and PC experience started with Warcraft 2 Tides of Darkness. I waited this remaster and preordered when it was announced. Why blizzard ? Why old features missed ? Why same cutacenes ? Why all that changed is character models. Nothing else. Other same except some features which was before now is cropped. Total fail . Total disappointed .

They didn't even deliver even half of the promised featured and somehow even more broken than the original release. And don't get me started with the World Editor EULA change. Now any custom map you make is automatically owned by Blizzard without questions asked.

    World of Warcraft and Blizzard have been in a decline, in various aspects, for a long time save for some notable exceptions such as World of Warcraft: Legion and Starcraft: Legacy of the Void, but many of there old titles, like Warcraft 3, have managed to stay a reminder of what the name    Warcraft 3: Reforged is one of the best examples of how the mighty have fallen in the gaming scene.
    World of Warcraft and Blizzard have been in a decline, in various aspects, for a long time save for some notable exceptions such as World of Warcraft: Legion and Starcraft: Legacy of the Void, but many of there old titles, like Warcraft 3, have managed to stay a reminder of what the name Blizzard Entertainment used to stand for. That makes this contraste even more apparent.
    In a release that is borderline False Advertisement and poor marketing decisions, Activision Blizzard's new release is a mess that goes beyond bugs at release, its more deeper than that. First announced at the annual convention Blizzcon2018, the news of Warcraft 3: Reforged was received by the audience with extreme support and praise. The game promised to revitalise the classic and bring it to a new audience of RTS players and to the much larger World of Warcraft audience, with additions to it's story that would bring it closer to it's MMORPG sequel, new voice actors, sharp modern ingame and CGI cinematics cutscenes of the quality that only Blizzard is famous for, and the notion that the developers would stay in contact with it's fanbase on the game's forums during production. Blizzard allowed customers to buy the game when they announced it by pre ordering on there online store, with the time window release of "on or before 31 decembre 2019". This ended up being a mistake.
    At the time of writing this, it is unknown if Activision lost fait in there new RTS or budget cuts happen or even if the Classic Team at Blizzard didn't noticed the monumental size of their 18 year old game. What is know is that the time for development was severely too short.
    What followed was a year of complete silence from Blizzard on the development of there game. With only news being reported by fan sites, such as Wowhead.com, on news directed at the chinese audience, with no equivalent at the western audience. The news that Blizzard had outsourced to another company to make all the new models for characters and doodads was also meet with suspicion, since the company is notorious for not relying on others, and keeping development 'in house'. The full year of zero marketing and communication stopped at Blizzcon2019, Blizzard's Classic Tem, the team in charge of bringing new life into the old titles, reveald that the planes for the game had changed significantly. No longer there would be additions to the story to make it current with the the setting's lore, safe for some minuscule map changes and no longer would there be new voice acting. And the cinematics would retain there old and stiff camera work, and the big CGI cinematics at the beginning and end of the various campaigns would be the old ones, but Blizzard reassured that they would be upped to HD resolution, what was head scratching at best considering that one could find them online professionally remastered by dedicated fans in HD for many years, and recently as far as 8k resolution. The multiplayer aspect of the game was also meet with some critic during it's beta phase, bugs of all kind, disconnect and poor graphical choices, were some of the critics sent at the game. The game was also delayed for a month at the end of december with a release date for january 28, 2020. The original price tag of $29.99 and $39.99 for the Spoils of War Edition was supposed to cover all the changes that the game would bring to the table, but with all the cut content payers are meet with a very expensive paint job. Warcraft 3 is still a classic that has aged very well but its Reforged counterpart has failed to meet the legendary legacy of it's older self. Warcraft 3: Reforged is in Blizzard's Battle.Net online launcher, so the hope remains that the game may patch it's many mistakes over the following months, but that's most likely be the job of its dedicated fan modding community.

    The bottom line is that Warcraft 3: Reforged was released a shell of what supposed to be and a overpriced cash grab at best. If you don't own the old version of the game it my be worth buying, but if you do own the classic version you better wait for it to be on a massive discount sale.    … Expand

    Bad remaster. Made me lose a lot of maps. Broke a lot of things. They now want to own every custom game created for themselves. Cannot even refund this garbage or play the original game as this overwrites that one. Worst!
    More importantly, they lied. They made promises and did not keep them. Ruined the game for most of us.

    They completely butchered the original game. I can't even recognize this company anymore. Blizzard is a sinking ship with no intentions of going afloat. Good luck with the next releases as I'm sure they will be as much of a failure as well. RIP BLIZZARD.

    How on earth is this game worse then the original like 18 years later!? Blizzard and EA in general are getting really bad.. just pumping out their yearlies with little to no changes (ea sports 2010-2020 very little changes) and throwing Star Wars titles around like candy. I'm done w them

    Long time Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne fan.
    I have played the campaigns more times than I can count. From time to time I remembered this game and fired up a skirmish for old times..
    I was excited when I heard about Reforged and finally got the chance to play it on one of my friend's laptop.
    It's beyond dissappointing.

    Blizzard has had this coming for a while now. Ever since the Dumpster fire that was BFA, the Blitzchung debacle and now this lazy rip-off of a "Game".

    One of the most important games of Blizzards entire catalogue and they haven't got a shred of respect for it or their customers. Blizzard deserves to burn for this attrocious display of laziness and scumbaggery.

    The thing that kept me playing this game all these years was the custom games. Thanks to all the developers that have kept this game alive for me all these years. Shame on blizzard for taking away their creative rights and the classic experience,

    Worse remastered game ever. Totally felt like i was playing the exact same game but way worse that the original. Everything from lighting, cinematic to custom games, it is just pure disappointment. I have trouble playing the campaign as it often brings me to the result page whenever it finish loading, and it happen very frequently.     Although this game isn't a 0 or a 1, it is definitely deserving of such a score for how much of a slap in the face this game is. Not only did Blizzard make a worse game, but they butchered the original to by tieing it to this insult and claiming all the mods fans make for this game as their own, that is only the beggining too, it isn't hard to find other things Blizzard managed to ruin.

    Very disappointed about this product, I bought WC3 and TFT when they came out back in the days and this is nothing compared to it but what shocked me the most is that they completely changed battle net and now there are no ranking system, stats or profile... why? Graphics are ok but nothing extraordinary, anyway I really hope they will hear the people and fix their mess but I'm probably dreaming.

This was the game that made me a World of Warcraft player that sparked my love for RTS and when I heard they were giving it an overhaul with new UI, in-game cinematics, 4k resolution, new character models, and promised to flesh out more character stories I was hooked I purchased the deluxe edition and have been playing the beta. I regret toI can't even begin to describe my disappointment. This was the game that made me a World of Warcraft player that sparked my love for RTS and when I heard they were giving it an overhaul with new UI, in-game cinematics, 4k resolution, new character models, and promised to flesh out more character stories I was hooked I purchased the deluxe edition and have been playing the beta. I regret to say the beta had nothing more than the new character models and ended up being more stable than the game on launch. I unsubscribed from World of Warcraft at the end of Legion came back to disappointing BFA and left again. Blizzard feels soulless with massive content droughts with all of their products and is just not a company that screams passion I wish Warcraft 3 Reforged could have been a success like the Starcraft remaster was but it's not. So I requested a refund today and hope to receive money back within the next 72 hrs.     I cant play the original Warcraft 3. Instead I have to play the new one with all of its bad systems. Many of the custom game modes have been removed because of the new TOS. The cutscenes look choppy and like they are playing at 20fps. Even the new models don't look that great. On top of FPS issues. Issues joining a game. Things which are not as advertised.     Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
