    False marketing, EULA changes that prohibit tons of custom games, old WC3 client and its previously superior Battle net functionality gone, censorship of certain voice lines (Dryad saying she's wasted), the list goes on. There are so many reasons you should hate this, if you actually like the old Warcraft 3.

    so I have been waiting for this years, only to be scammed.
    I don't care about the promised features like new background story etc. a company that has not managed to provide anything great for years now should touch content on such a great game anyway.
    What I do care about:
    - ingame menus are actually worse from their design and graphics than the original game, overall a complete downgrade
    - they removed key features from the game (ladder / clans / clan chat / custom game filter) which is just an overwhelming punch to the gut of any fan
    - the "new and improved" graphics keep glitching out (see militias color changing for example), this would be a horrible fail for an kickstarter game and yet it is a blizzard game? It just looks like someone but a fancy dress on the old chunky models making their movement look retarded as hell, not to mention it has an impact on the game for example landing lasthits or denying XP, since the animation of attacks do not match the actually hits

    Finally:
    I loved wc3 and just making it compatible with modern pcs would have satisfied me, everything else would have been dessert.
    For example I think it would have been smart to move the menu bar to the side instead of keeping it at the bottom, because that restricts the vision on the current wide monitors.
    As for the new paragraph about the rights to custom maps.... I would have swallowed that if the game was working properly, but adding a plain rip off to an unfinished game adds insult to injury.
    They took a great and working game - then broke it beyond common sense and added a rip off clause? really?

    I honestly love WC3 to much not to play it when they fix ladder / clans / glitches even sucking up the new menus and paragraphs .... but the current trash without any comment on when the missing features will be added and the glitches will be fixed allowed me only one reaction.
    I refunded the game then canceled by WoW subscription and deleted battle.net from my computer, I will not touch a game this company created, until they either fix reforged or return WC3 TFT to its former state.
    I seriously created an account here and just wrote my very first review, because this is a slap in the face. At this point I feel it would be better if Blizzard was forced to shut down before they can ruin more great titles (or make the ruined ones even worse) and let a company who actually has some common sense buy the rights for those games.    … Expand

Blatant false advertising.Blizzard now truly has 0% trustability. Arthas vs Illidan cutscene looks like cheap fanmade youtube **** Menu is awful and unfinished with chat clipping. The end of match summary is completely butchered and doesn't tell you useful info. The old client is gone, even if you don't own reforged you're forced into replacing it if you ever connect to bnet. Basically they took away the old real classic version.You are now forced to play a new inferior "classic" version merged with the horrible buggy reforged edition of the game which is missing tons of stuff. Custom maps now have a report button so blizzard can ban maps and ban people hosting them. Newly modified horrible EULA.It's basically as stupid as like saying someone who wrote a book doesn't own their book,its actually the guys who made the nifty pen they used to write the book who owns it.Pulling a policy like that right under people's feet in a game that had 18 years of life thanks to a great modding community is in no way healthy for wc3's longevity and is insulting to dedicated fans of the game. The new EULA discourages creativity and truly will murder the amazing custom game scene WC3 had. The game also lacks polish and is littered with bugs.     Why on earth did they ever talk about "cross-play" compatibility with the "original version" if the intent was to kill the old version and force-"upgrade" it to this new 30GB madness but with "classic mode visuals"? Wc3 was one of my favourite games to date and I could still enjoy all the custom maps. Now I can't even use the original game due to bandwidth and hard drive space concerns, not to mention the downgrade in functionality and graphics. That is simply not cool blizzard.    … Expand

    Really wished to enjoy the game and i never rated a game before, what made me rate it is because on how blizzard wants the customer to pay for their mistakes and shady advertising by ignoring refunds or even caring for the player base.

    False advertising, game is the same as before with new hd graphic but cutscenes are not like they shown at blizzcon, nor the game adjusted to fit with World of Warcraft. Full bugged, fuse with old w3, non-refundable et banned if you talk about refund on forums. Blizzard doesn't exist anymore it's a corporate sellout called Activision killing our beloved industry

    What a massive disappointment this game has been. I've long looked forward to playing Warcraft 3 again, but sadly I will have to look elsewhere for that joy. This feels more like an insult than anything else.

    As a kid growing up with Blizzard's golden age games (1996-2008) i've never felt so much animosity to a company i once revered.

    It is truly sad to see this Gaming pioneer fall so far from grace, Blizzard doesn't have the talent, passion, vision or leadership to make games as they once did, all they can do now is live on past glories and wait until they collapse into itself like a dying star.

If you want multiplayer, the original client supports lan, so you can use any virtual network (like Hamachi), to play with your friends. Don't be fooled like I was by all the promises Blizzard makes.     Blizzard should have canceled the game rather than angering the entire gaming community. this game is a disaster. promises were not kept. This game is not optimized, and it is not a remake but a reskin. ask Forgotten empire how to do the next one, or make a new game instead of trying to redo a game that was already very good as it is.

    Matchmaking broken on release, games dropped, disconnects, desyncs, lag, battle.net down, etc. Hard to complete long games without half the players dropping at once, long periods at launch without anyone being able to search at all1

    EULA rewritten to give blizzard total control over every custom map made in every imaginable way. "you grant to Blizzard an exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, unconditional, royalty free, irrevocable license enabling Blizzard to fully exploit the Custom Games (or any component thereof) for any purpose and in any manner whatsoever" no seriously, that's a verbatim quote, not hyperbole. That's their actual EULA.1

    The HD graphics look awful on the warcraft terrain tiles and are cluttered and hard to differentiate during normal zoomed out gameplay, they don't have basic silhouette and identifiable features like regular WC3, they don't follow a consistent art design.

    Non-english voice acting changed completely with no way to restore original VA1

    Incredible amount of gameplay / graphical bugs on release. Its barely playable1

    Breaks compatibility with many maps1

    EULA also rewritten to ban copyrighted content in custom maps despite being personal use and noncommercial, making many of the most popular custom maps now banned for having IP from non-Blizzard franchises like Naruto1

    No new gameplay content compared to WC3 / TFT, despite costing $30. Even though they had 18 years and a development team and time to make all these graphical models, they did not create any new campaigns or gameplay modes or new functionality. The remaster adds nothing.

    Does not rectify many of the essential features missing in WC3 / TFT like replay rewind, rejoin on disconnect, etc. All the structural limitations of the WC3 engine remain and no fix was even attempted, games are still locked into being a single uninterrupted thread from start to finish.

    Binds you to a single battle.net account and forbids you from smurfing, changing account names for free, makes you vulnerable to admin bans for swearing or being un-PC, etc. For anyone who becomes good at this game enough to get recognized by opponents, this is sure a dealbreaker. And the only way to get more name changes is to spend $$1

    Chat interface is completely borked and can't be disabled, you can't use /commands like normal battle.net, can't squelch or whisper or whatever, no chat rooms, no chat bots, etc1

    Bait-and-switch advertising with blizzard announcing total remake of the experience, new cinematics, voice acting, high quality animations, etc that were shown at blizzcon, and then removed from the final product. The end result doesn't even resemble the fake advertised stuff.

    The UI is absurdly laggy and clumsy. WC3 was already bad, this is insane. Its sluggish and unresponsive, with tons of graphical errors

    Incredibly unoptimized, low fps on high end machines1

    Lan mode removed, offline multiplayer lobbies removed, can't 1v1 vs friends offline.1

    No test mode or single player lobbies to test with cheats on or mods.1

    Development was outsourced to SEA instead of done in-house.

    Even classic graphics aren't 1:1 with the originals and have missing effects, visibility, etc, and look much worse than they did before the patch.1

    RT and AT were inexplicably merged. There is no way to 'solo queue' anymore, you can get placed with arranged team opponents and allies. Going up against a 4 man arranged team with a predetermined strategy while you get 3 random solo queue allies is as unplayable in WC3 as it is in any other team game. And no way to identify if opponents are an AT or RT11

    Even if you don't buy Reforged, you still get all those problems above. You can't opt out. You are forced to play the new, buggy, feature-lacking client. The only thing the $29.99 unlocks is the HD texture pack, which is silly because it makes the game look worse.

This bug was present in the beta and it wasn't fixed before release, that on itself is pretty disappointing but it's not the worst thing about this whole fiasco.

    Apart from the game being ridden with bugs, performance issues and it being an incomplete work (there are HD skins completely absent from the game, ridiculous), the game has an instant defeat bug. Yup: AN INSTANT DEFEAT BUG. That means that the lazy *** developers had the amateurish mistake of not setting their winning condition variables right. Every amateur game dev faces that problem as soon as he starts learning and testing his own code; this is unforgiveable for a company such as Blizzard. That alone leaves you with the poorest impression of the game and a rating close to 1.
    On top of that, the company has incurred in false advertising and has sold a game that barely holds itself, without any community feature whatsoever.

    This kind of service is a disgrace and should never be repeated.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Such disrespect for fans is inexcusable. The last drop was it: "Custom Game Acceptable Use Policy". Blizzards have corrupted a classic like its voice acting and they would well do new voice acting for reforged not touching a classic voice acting. More for what me a superfluous GB with the Reforged Models for the classic when I wasn't buying reforged in general. I played in WC3:Reforge at my friend and I was not like it. Toxic graphic, missing the promised, more old bugs with new bugs, and missing the single player, custom campaign and more anything.
    It wasn't necessary to kill Classic WC3 and its interface. For users of the classic blizzards could to make symbiotism beetwens Classsic and Refroged. Это мод на варкрафт, который могли бы сделать несколко талантливых ребят за 2 недели. Это не ремастер. Меня давно уже так не обманывали при покупке игры. In addition to the plethora of other lies, competitive multiplayer has been a staple in rts games; especially Blizzard games. To have that feature not even available at launch is disgusting. This feels like a complete slap in the face and it's hard to see this as anything other than a blatant bait and switch cash grab. I hope this is a wake up call for the suits and clowns who run the show. They need to work fast to try to have any semblance of a chance of redemption. With their recent track record, I don't see them really caring though. Unless their pocket book takes a big hit we wont see Blizzard working hard to rectify this butchery.… Expand

    - No new UI
    - No new cut-scenes (just the old ones rescaled)
    - Lots of old features missing

    Luckily i was able to refund.

    i have been playing WC3 for all my life and the reforged is a great disappointment.
    Too many glitches, on Battle.net and single player.
    Totally unfinished game.

    They broke even the basic promises. F**k, that greediness is unbelievable. You pay 30 € for a game which is totally broken, worse than the one released in 2002 and it also has cosmetic microtransactions. Not to mention that they totally destroyed the thing which people loved about Warcraft 3 - custom maps.

    Blizzard has been dead since BObby Kotick took over in 2007. I'm not surprised this game was a hot garbage mess on release. All it does is desecrate my childhood by ruining one of the best RTS of all time.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
