    They delivered a terrible product. I preordered this game and what they showed on their reveal in 2018. is a completely different game than the one we got in 2020. The cutscenes look way worse, the FPS is terrible and many other features were cut. 23

    Created a metacritic account just for this. It's a tragedy that they'd do this to my favorite game of all time. Definitely been losing trust in blizzard for the past few years but this is really the nail in the coffin. Gonna start boycotting everything blizzard.

    A tragic episode in gaming history. Greedy crooks destroying a piece of art that was loved by countless of fans all over the globe. Thankful that I got to experience the original, which was a piece of pure joy. Big thanks to the original crew of bright artists.

    I registered for MetaCritic, just to review this piece of **** of a remastery.
    The game was supposed to be a reliving of the original Warcraft 3. Upon starting the game it takes ages to load, you encounter weird bugs due to the profanity filter. Honestly i don't care about these issues, because they can be patched and fixed.
    Then you start playing.... the campaign is made insanely easy    I registered for MetaCritic, just to review this piece of **** of a remastery.

    The best game for 2020, I do not recommend this great game to anyone. Masterpiece of our time, the only change is the refreshed character models i think. Fans of the series are delighted, as evidenced by the assessment 0.8 or less. I love it Fortunately, I didn't buy the preorder.

    This game is totally piece of sh*t. I really like WC3 FT & ROC and they were totally ok, a bit old, but still good. I don't understand how is it possible to make the SAME game worse then a game, that was published many many years ago. Burn in Hell, Activition. You really deserved to obtain such "award".

    Someone says that cons of the reform are undeserved BUT:
    No rating games.
    The clans are gone.
    Lan game has disappeared.
    The offline game in custom has disappeared.
    Missing teams in the chat.
    Custom campaigns disappeared.
    New graphic horrible. In some places (and too often), the new graphics are worse than the original 18 years ago.
    New detailed models look monstrous with a cartoony low poly environment.
    The battle is now much worse read, all pro-gamers unanimously refuse to play with the new graphic.
    Custom files are completely killed (new license agreement and copyright).
    There is no rework promised at the announcement (the juice itself - the promise still hangs on the purchase page).
    The only new cc cutscene, the Illidan vs. Arthas fight, looks worse than fan artwork.
    There is no promised plot alteration.
    No more killing children. Even when in the story you are organizing a massacre of the undead, I must bypass them.
    3D backs were removed from the menu and replaced with a crap soulless 2D.
    Shelter interface on a third of the screen.
    The classic VK3 has been removed from the store, only reform is now available to its owners, but without a new graphic. At the same time, you should still download all 30 gigs.
    Preparation for donation skins in multiplayer.
    In the original, for some unknown reason, removed some memetic phrases from the characters. To change the hotkeys, you need to edit the text file in the game folder. And you are informed about this directly in the game settings and even carefully talked about the way.
    Graphics can only be switched from the menu (this is not the norm for remasters.

    Paying 30$ for the same game and only difference it has is that this version comes with DRM and has better (worse) character models with different art style that doesn't fit or have any connections with the original game which makes it worse, and another differences are the downgraded campaign selection backgrounds, UI in the game looks uglier than in original WC3, bugs.     Это один из самых лучших ремейков! Да, близзард не переделали все ролики и не добавили полноценные катсцены, но других существенных минусов у данного ремейка просто нет. Новые модели очень красивые и детализированные, новая озвучка примерно на уровне оригинала (местами лучше, местами хуже) ну а геймплейно это та же самая игра 2002 года. Именно это и должно быть в хорошем ремейке)

I can’t host the custom, it drops me out of lobby after 10 seconds (a couple of my friends have different timings, but the same thing, throws away after a minute or something like this). So all saves from the maps that people played in var3 (RPG, for example) will not work at all (because they were attached to a nickname) Changing models is the only thing done. There is no real reforging. There is no optimization, in TKOK only 20 fps in the city. 20 fps in war3.
    The interface has become much less convenient (the old battle is gone and it was better, but I really hoped it would be improved). How to add a friend in the game? NO WAY. You need to go out or open the battle.net and add it from there and so on.    … Expand

    the worst thing is not the quality of Reforged itself, which is very poor both visually and technically (performance, network), but the fact that they killed the original Warcraft 3 - the lack of a local network, clans, ladder, custom campaigns.

    It's clear the game is not yet finished and ready for release.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Warcraft 3 was my favourite game of all time and I was super hyped for Warcraft Reforged.

    Literally all time.

    Unfortunately Reforged turned out to be a buggy mess, several of the models look even worse than the original, a defeat screen would come up occasionally, ruining the campaign for no reason and worst of all some levels wouldn't even open up. Still this doesn't begin to describe the problems with this game.
    For some reason they thought it was a good idea to balance a game that was almost two decades old, the new hero models look all over the place and nothing like the original and to top it off they decided that the Wow-aesthetic was better than the original Warcraft style. Regardless, even with that it wouldn't have been that bad.

    But it gets Worse

    So much worse.

    The bugs for some reason prevent people from playing the original Warcraft 3 so you had to buy reforged, then they decided everyone needed to download the new reforged game and increase my just-at-few-GB game into a more than twenty Gb game. I live in a country with pretty damn poor internet so it took me almost 4 days to download the thing.
    And even when i did, I coulkdn't join anyones games initially, I couldn't play single player melee and I couldn't finish the campaign after randomly getting booted out of the games.

    And finally the worst part of all this:
    Custom games are dead
    Reforged killed almost all the custom maps so they couldn't be played.
    And to top it off they introduced a EULA that prevented people from making custom maps.
    Custom Maps are ruined.
    The chances of people fixing all of the lost maps (that were also deleted from my computer, thank god I kept a backup) are pretty damn abyssal, not to mention all thge fan maps, like Dragon Ball Z tribute or all those Naurto dotas.

    Blizzard has actually ruined my favourite game for what was merely meant to be a cash grab.
    All they had to do was make it so we could have Better models, instead they decided to go all out and beat Bethesda Creation club idea. Imagined if they introduced a Skyrim patch that deleted all mods and made it so all mods created are sole property of Bethesda.
    Blizzard killed one of the most popular RTS's on the planet so its no wonder they're getting negative reviews.    … Expand

    Overpriced remake with all the promised new cutscenes missing. Also ruined original Warcraft 3 by forcing users to download 50 GB update, which adds HD assets that stay hidden until you pay for Reforged.

    I never played the original game, but I am a huge fan of RTS and Fantasy games, so I was really looking to try this game out. After following all this that has went wrong with it, it really is a shame that companies release half baked products to the public and expect them to happy with it.     I am a very long Warcraft 3 veteran and played this game since its original release back then, I've grown up with it and I feel like its part of me as I surely played this game the most in my life and had amazing memories and made friends that I even visited in real life. I played amazing vanilla games, superb custom games and just absolutely stunning custom campaigns where I replayed the Sunwell Plateu raid or ICC with all the iconic voice lines and everything. Mods kept this game alive for such a long time.

    However, its all gone now. To be honest I absolutely dont even know where to start this, a year ago they updated the classic game and its battle.net/multiplayer nicely only to remove it now and force everyone into their new battle.net that DOESN'T has the features anymore they officially ADDED a year ago in a REMASTER like cross region play which is very important and this type of behavior essentially happend with the entire game as many parts are gone and not working - they simply released an absolutely unfinished product and DOWNGRADED everyone. There are big lists of whats missing but for example not even leaderboards or anything as simple as that is working while custom maps mostly gets deleted now and custom campaigns aren't even there anymore which was this games soul and beauty on top of an massively awesome foundation. Sad.

    Even the Reforged graphics are worse because they are not finished - the animations are sometimes copy-pasted and not as diverse as in classic. Classic Warcraft 3 had shadows, to enable those now you have to buy Reforged which makes no sense, they are even using scam practices now to force you into it.

    As a long long fan this is tearing me apart and im very sad about all of this, I never gave up on the game and I always had fun and joyful moments for such a long long time. Farewell, Warcraft 3 and **** you Blizzard for even DOWNGRADING MY GAME OVER 10 YEARS LATER AFTER MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE. Oh, and thanks for baiting me to spend 30€ on a downgrade cause the updates you did to prepare Classic to Reforge got rolled back for no reason whatsoever.

    This was a complete and utter scam in the worst way possible up to date in gaming history, we had false promising and marketing before but never again has your game that you already owned even got massively DOWNGRADED in the process.    … Expand

    This game is an example of absolute disregard for the original series. I just have no words to describe how bad it is. It's a shame. And I think it was the last time when I paid for the game to Blizzard, this company is officially dead for me.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
