    In 2002 and 2003, Blizzard Entertainment released one of the greatest RTS's and greatest games ever made: Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne. This game revolutionized and standardized RTS games, had an amazing matchmaking system, a kick-ass campaign, an amazing custom game    Where do I even start with this steaming pile of trash? From the beginning I suppose...

    In 2002 and 2003, Blizzard Entertainment released one of the greatest RTS's and greatest games ever made: Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne. This game revolutionized and standardized RTS games, had an amazing matchmaking system, a kick-ass campaign, an amazing custom game modding community, charming graphics, great voice acting, and a pleasing soundtrack. These two masterpieces launched the MOBA games DOTA and League of Legends, among others. The interest in these games was so massive that it spawned and continued the lore with World of Warcraft, which was and still is the most successfully MMORPG of all time. Warcraft 3 continued to have a tight-knit passionate fanbase of players to this day who would play 1v1s and team games or replay the campaign every year, just because it was that good of a story and so nostalgic.

    So what went wrong? Well, Blizzard had 18 years to remaster this game or to create Warcraft 4, which is what fans really wanted. It seems they were a victim of their own success, in that World of Warcraft was such a cash cow that they continued milking it until it was a withered husk of a game (See: Battle for Azeroth). They only began development of Warcraft 3: Reforged 2 years ago (allegedly) and released it 1 month behind schedule. And for what we got out of this game, it's embarrassing

    Blizzard (now Blizzard-Activision, HUGE difference) claims that this game has:
    -Visuals rebuilt from the ground up
    -Over 4 hours of reforged cutscenes
    -Limitless custom games to explore
    -Updated UI and rebalanced gameplay
    -Modern Blizzard Battle.net features

    What we got was:
    -Visuals that look like they were created by overworked interns from 2010 in some foreign development company in India
    -No reforged cutscenes, only the exact same cutscenes with "updated" graphics
    -Custom games that are legally owned by Blizzard
    -The same exact UI from 2002 and a few MINOR changes to gameplay with no new units, no new heroes, no new buildings, no new maps
    -Battle.net 2.0, which takes away profile stats, animated profile pictures, online connectivity, clans, player community, and a lot more things that other reviewers have detailed much better than I can

    Bonus "features":
    -Incredibly amount of lag, even on high-end system, even in 1v1 custom matches against a bot
    -No new campaigns
    -No new cutscenes
    -No new music
    -No new voice actors (would love to have the option to choose between old and new voice actors)
    -COMPLETE lack of polish - for god's sake the multiplayer chat doesn't even scroll down automatically when a new message is received
    -"updated" graphics that somehow look worse than the original and lack its charm. Either go with the charm of the old art style or update it completely to WoW style, don't do some half-ass attempt to merge the two

    Overall, this "game" was an attempt to cash in on people who have a love and huge amount of nostalgia for the old games. It was the absolute laziest attempt I have ever seen to "remaster" a game that I have ever seen in my 29 years of life and Blizzard and the people who worked on this should be absolutely ashamed. Not only did they not make remaster the game in an acceptable way, they completely destroyed the old game by not allowing normal Warcraft 3 players (the old game) to log into old Battle.net and use the features from that.

    So bravo, Blizzard (really Blizzard-Activision as Blizzard doesn't exist anymore). You managed to not only make a bad game, but to completely butcher and destroy the original. This was literally worse than the finale of Game of Thrones. Thanks for destroying the last bit of goodwill you had with the community of players you amassed making the actual good games of the 2000s and 90s. Adieu, Blizzard.    … Expand

I am truly flabbergasted that they made this decision to alter the original game in this way. I want the old game back.

    Broke the original while Activision-Blizzard collect money for literally nothing. After supporting blizzard for 16 years I'm done. I own every game they have pushed out, and atleast I had fun while they were fun. This company isn't trust worthy and hasn't been in a while.

    Rather than fixing bugs, they kept adding new bugs with each new patch. Now the game is much more unstable. Custom maps that used to run fine now desync and crash more frequently. Their lack of QA is just so sad

    I have poured thousands of hours in Warcraft III alone and as much spread across several of their other games. Blizzard has effectively murdered a decades old community in one move and its policies reflect an incredibly authoritarian, demanding, greedy and frankly stupidly blind stance. It is becoming increasingly apparent that Blizzard has betrayed its fans and remorselessly turns itself into a cold corporate vacuum of a company. The one good quality to Reforged would be the graphics but even those completely fail to be true to the original spirit and atmosphere of the game, instead looking like a cheap Chinese knockoff replica. The only way this game could be worse if it were to destroy your harddrive or spread nazi propaganda. The worst thing is I'm not even being dramatic. This sentiment is shared by the overwhelming majority of Warcraft III veterans. Reforged fully deserves its horrendous rating and I hope this serves as a massive red flag to any that would consider even a tentative interest in Reforged or any other Activision Blizzard game purchases. Their chain of soulless decisions has sparked outrage so many times that the word outrage has lost its meaning. The 800 employee layoffs. Suppressing the Blitzchung human rights advocacy.     Completely overhauled WC3 classic and in the process destroyed the original with their unfinished product. You could convince people that the game was in alpha based on how they haven’t delivered half of the items they advertised before the game came out. I feel bad for everyone that Blizzard is refusing to refund right now.

    I specifically registered here to leave a review about Warcraft 3 and support Blizzard. This is a good game, which unfortunately did not have enough time to become ideal at the start. At the moment, the game has small friezes, but nothing more. On the whole, Blizzard gave us what they promised.

    Great. **** got messed up. None of my mates wants to buy the game and I can't blame them. The golden era of new custom gamemodes from the community is gone. It's just a shell now. Can't even go back to the old WC3 which was lit in 2019 and 2018... Only option is to use our old USB-pen version to get the old game back and then host on gameranger.

I loved Runkittyrun and Murder at the Mansion and of course the base game itself, I was an Orc fanboy as a kid. That being said...this reforge is horrible. Absolutely horrible.     Where to Start:

    The visuals are terrible. They decided to over detail the units, bring them into HD not realizing that this is a RTS, a somewhat cartoony one at that, where visual clarity is supreme! A lot of the units just blend together and are ugly from a distance, their in game portraits look strange and plastic and lifeless. The animations are terrible and of a low frame rate. This is all strange since the same studio brought us HoTS where their versions of WC3 characters are AMAZING in comparison. Take a look at the Sylvanas of HoTS vs here. There her ears are huge, her shoulders are bright and colorful and large but simple on detail so that she pops and isn't a visual blur. Here she's just a mess of armor and plastic and tiny ears. The characters in this game were made with a fighting game mentality, not RTS

    LIES LIES LIES. They did not remake any cutscenes in game, the Strath video they showed at blizzcon IS NOT in the final game. All we get is just WC3 with a model swap, that's it. Pretty much a mod where you swap out for out of place models since the enviroment and lighting clashes hard with the new ones making the game look even more dated than the original which at least has charm. In the strat video at blizzcon, the characters pointed, they had unique animation, it was a directed scene...here they just turn on an axis.

    Destruction of online. Gone are profiles, gone are custom campaigns, gone are ladders and clans. What's the worst is that custom games are being thwarted by a new TOS that will screw over any content creator who does make the next Dota. Here's a tip, the next dota will never happen with these restrictions. The TOS also disallows copy right material which eliminates like half of the games I used to love as a kid on there like the LoTR ones.

    Performance is rough right now. For a 30 gig upgrade, (which is huge considering how little of an upgrade visually this is) the game menus run like crap. They are laggy, typing is laggy, everything seems unpolished and rushed. The game itself has some chop and the fps likes to drop too and I am on a 2070 super right now.

    But Jungle Bob, you can just go play WC3 Classic! Actually no, this reforge was more like a forced upgrade that killed off WC3 forever. That version does not exist anymore for retail. It's gone. It's like if Microsoft force patched everyone onto Vista from XP. Yeah its that bad.

    This game only gets 1 point from me. Visuals,content, performance, all failed. The only thing decent is the gameplay is still WC3, it is still fun to play after all these years but no one working on this reforge have anything to do with the core gameplay so it's not really a positive.

    Blizzard, you messed up real hard in these last 3 years. You killed HoTS. You shelled out the worst Expac for Warcraft. You destroyed any good will towards Diablo. You upset a lot of people with the Chinese censorship. WoW classic while good at first has been a bit mismanaged and now we have this, a final stamp to ruining your past and future as a company.    … Expand

Я все понимаю - игре 18 лет, сервера Батлнет могли отключить и все такое, но ПОЧЕМУ ни одного сообщения от Близард - ЧТО ВСЕ БОЛЬШЕ ВЫ НЕ ИГРАЕТЕ В WARCRAFT ROC/TFT, ТЕПЕРЬ ТОКА Reforget?????
    Те кто покупал на Дисках еще может установить и не обновляться, те кто купил электронно теперь через сайт устанавливают Reforged(

    -Can't create games on Custom Map either due to a large portion of maps or kicked by just adding a new slot for AI. -UI functionality is way worse than classic and we can't switch back to classic. -When I toggle to classic mode I can't play any    The new version of this game has plenty game breaking bugs and bad designs.

    It was a game of my childhood. Ny favorite game. I pre-ordered the game. I patiently waited and believed in the work of people that, having not even a small part of the current resources, once forged a legend.
    As a result, they mutilated my favorite character, did not fulfill their promises and broke what worked since 2002. Thanks Bobby, give my money back.

    Game over all feels like a scam, likes of which are commonly seen on steam. Where a developer/publisher releases and early-access game with promises of great future, with new and promised features and fixes to all the problems in the world. When in reality you are lucky to have AN update after which the developer/publisher will state that the game is released and no future content is planed for the game.
    Yet saying all of that I would conclude that Steam is still better due to the fact that it will let you get a refund on fair terms and will not lie to you about it.

    Ten minuses and a single plus.

    Pre-ordered because it was my favourite game as a kid, and still played it pretty regularly. What an idiot I felt like. The models themselves are an improvement, but the terrain is a complete mess, and when they priced the game, they promised campaign changes, updated in-game cinematics. These are minimal at best, and they didn't even use the reforged advertisement trailer they used atPre-ordered because it was my favourite game as a kid, and still played it pretty regularly. What an idiot I felt like. The models themselves are an improvement, but the terrain is a complete mess, and when they priced the game, they promised campaign changes, updated in-game cinematics. These are minimal at best, and they didn't even use the reforged advertisement trailer they used at Blizzcon WHERE THEY HAD ALREADY REMADE A CINEMATIC!
    The game has removed several important features which the original possessed, like custom campaigns. It's a buggy mess and crashes consistently. But here's the kicker- you can't just go back to the old version of your beloved game any more! If it had been released without ruining the old version, I would have given it a 4, maybe a 5. But to make an existing product much, much worse than it was? How could that ever earn a 1?

    I tried to refund, they 'resolved' my ticket without telling me if they are going to refund me or not. As of now I still have the game, uninstalled.    … Expand

    It's an unplayable mess. I attempted to play the campaign and was met with gamebreaking bugs on the first mission. I then tried multiplayer, only to be constantly disconnected. Luckily, I was able to refund it. Shame on you Blizzard for releasing this garbage.

    How to kill the perfect game... Create the same one with better graphics, but make it unplayable, destroy good old features, make creators of the custom maps lose their right of ownership to said maps and destroy online gameplay in the old one, so that players can no longer enjoy it...     After the **** they pulled with that Hearthstone tourney, I decided I was done buying Blizzard products. Didn't think I'd find myself refunding the last thing I ever bought from them. Goes to show you shouldn't preorder.

    while the models are great. The controversy surrounding this game is well deserved. My biggest complain is the lack of new campaigns and the lack of "reforged" cinematics. I almost feel like I got my money stolen. Hope is not too late to refund.

    Unacceptable on all fronts but 1. It's a reskin. Everything else that was advertised and promised is either not implemented or partially implemented. The game runs poorly and is bug filled as well as unstable which causes crashes. In many, many aspects it is a worse game than the original warcraft 3 reign of chaos and the frozen throne. All it has going is prettier models.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
