    So basically my disappointment is rely on LIE. WC3 community had really low expectations. I had really low expectations. So:
    - Game is technically awful.
    - Problems with optimization. A lot of bugs which were not fixed since beta.
    - If you guys are interested in the World Editor. Meh, just forget about it for now.
    - Blizzard say - Backward compatibility with original WC3. What we got - old models in the tuned engine. No way to play original WC3. So basically even if you will switch to the "old" version you still gonna use buggy revamped tech under the hood.
    - Blizzard say - Battle.net, Ladder, Custom Games, Multiplayer. What we got - no ladder, awful multiplayer (try to play FFA, meh). Problems with custom games. New custom games 'terms and conditions'
    - Blizzard say - Hej, you will get "new" cinematics, revamped campaign, cutscenes. What we got - you know guys... you know... nothing. And the worst part Blizzard is trying to BLAME community. They say "Community don't want new custcenes, don't want changes in the campaign...". Come on, Blizz... Lazy... Lazy boy Bobby...
    - The same with models, textures, art design.
    - Forget about cyber-sport.
    - New UI? Meh. Lags in the UI everywhere. Don't expect anything even close to things that you seen on the Blizzcon demo.Blizzard... They gave me hope ... And they took it on one moment.

    This game is a complete and utter disaster. I’ve seen my dog sh*t out higher quality products then this.

    The only reason I’m actually scoring 1 and not 0 is because the game is somewhat playable.

    I never right reviews however I’m am so deeply disappointed with this game I can’t even explain was checking updates everyday. The cut scenes are exactly the same basically no wow factor at all buggy basically a 4K reskin which is unfinished defo not a reimagined upgrade

    The stupid interface bugs, the disappearance of subtitles in the Russian version, no innovations, except for models and textures that were not even created by Blizzard.

They didn’t upgrade anything except the texture, which look like plasticy models, they broke all their promises that this wouldn’t be just a remaster, but a reforge, when it fact it’s a retexture and would more accurately be named the definitiveRight, so, this is awful.     I wish I could have something nice to write. However I can’t. This game has fallen short of every Mark it has said it would hit. It’s awful and has less than the original game. Blizzard really needs to take a hard look in the mirror. A company known for quality is now known for its poor releases.

Модели стали реалистичней, но передвигаются они как будто на прогулке и вокруг нежить ни кого не жрет, Артес вообще пофигист, озвучка полный отстой, атмосфера просрана полностью, я прошел кампанию людей и у меня ни одна эмоция не заиграла, просто пресная срань.... вот как так можно было ? это талант...Прошел кампанию альянса.     Love playing Footmen Frenzy again! Been playing through the beta. So fun. Not sure why all the dislike. Custom games and multiplayer works great. Don't care about who owns the maps. I just want something fun to play. And it's reliving Footies again! Yay.

    seventeen years on the same account. This is trash. Give us back warcraft 3. It pains me to not endorse this game that I have loved for so long. I hoped for many years this game would see a revival but this is not it. Absolute abysmal failure at best and complete theft at worst.

    They removed the Dryad's "I'm so wasted" voice line, possibly others missing that have yet to be discovered.
    All the promised new cutscenes were cut.
    All the new English voice acting was cut.
    Foreign voice-acting, such as German and Russian, has been replaced with an inferior version, and is compulsory, it can NOT be changed back.
    All the new story content that was supposed to help tie the game into World of Warcraft was cut.
    The Arthas vs Illidan cutscene looks very cheap and amateurish.
    The menu is awful and slow. Looks like it was designed for a mobile device.
    The end of match summary is completely butchered and doesn't tell you useful info.
    Custom maps now have a report button so blizzard can ban maps and ban people hosting them for whatever reason they want.

    Most grievous of all, and what is completely unforgivable, is the fact that the old TFT classic client is gone. Even if you don't want anything to do with Reforged, the Reforged update is forced on you if you ever connect to Battle.net. It deletes your old client and replaces it with the new one. The old Battle.net is now gone.

    Second, what is up with the story? You are telling me that 18 years later, the story is worse than the original?

    And don't get me started with the custom maps nonsense that Blizzard added in the EULA.
    What Blizzard is saying is that, every work that somebody puts in to create awesome maps and mods for the community, that belongs to Blizzard? Forever?
    Hey, it's nice to have developers that you don't pay right? Nice thinking there Activision. How about you fire all your employees and start making games for free by using random people online.
    GREAT THINKING FOR THE COMMUNITY BLIZZARD, MY APPLAUSE, YOU REALLY SHOWED YOUR TRUE COLORS WITH THIS ONE.

    I have never refunded a game in my life, but this is my first one.

    This is their advertisement. Keep in mind they literally outsourced the ONLY thing they did to this game to malaysian sweat shop workers, which was a reskin. Then they removed a BUNCH of the features of the original game. Then they asked more money for this game than WC3 originally cost, with less of the features.

    I get scaling back on a product, but pulling major features and then preventing players from going back to their old product by effectively deleting it. I would rather just have the Warcraft 3 Reforged canceled and play OG Warcraft 3 than have this. Zero flat zero.

But when game finally launched, it was a complete dumpster on fire. Full of bugs, unfinished, what was promised during Blizzcon panel was not delivered, all just lies and disappointment.     Stuck everywhere, dropped frames: main menu freezes, network freezes, frequent in-game frame drops (must go out when choosing a building, and it must freeze when entering certain areas of some maps)
    There are also details that are obviously not QA proofreading: mapping errors (such as the fishman at the bottom level of the prologue), subtitle errors (too frequent), very obvious map trigger errors, etc.


    The only thing that shines in people's eyes is the overall rendering effect. The models, textures, lighting, particle effects, etc. are not bad. Of course, the animation effects specific to some units are actually low quality, which is very inconsistent with other parts of the game. Feeling (e.g. waterfall, spring)
    But the quality of a game really doesn't depend on this alone, and the rendering performance can be frankly bad in this era.

    Feelings after playing a few levels, this is simply not a patient polished product

Nothing about the game seemed to slog, but with Warcraft III: Reforged, the exact opposite is true.

    THIS IS NOW THE ONLY LEGITIMATE WAY TO PLAY WARCRAFT III. What used to be a $10 purchase on Blizzard's own site, for Classic Games, is now $30, take it or leave it. With it, you can expect the following features:
    - Enhanced portraits, models, and textures
    - Battle.net compatibility (never mind the fact that WCIII was Battle.net compatible back when it launched in 2002)
    - Matchmaking
    - A 2-second delay on ALL voice lines, as though a courier was running to you with a tape recorder with a recent message from Arthas Menethil, and when you play it it says "I'm here to help". You tell what the courier to do, he runs back, and comes back with the same tape recorder, and this time he says "A sound plan".
    - The ability to pour your heart and soul into making a custom map / game mode in Warcraft III's innovative map editor (or rather, use the one that was bundled with the game in 2002), have Blizzard steal the intellectual rights out from under your nose with their innovative terms of service, and then ban your account because your map / game mode broke their rules somehow, or upset one of four very irritable nations and Papa Blizzard still wants that dank cash flow for their insatiable investors. You are now out $30.

    THIS IS A LEGITIMATE TURN OF EVENTS THAT BLIZZARD IS WITHIN THEIR RIGHTS TO DO, BECAUSE THEY SET WHAT THEY ARE WITHIN THEIR RIGHTS TO DO.

    They just killed a classic. I enjoyed it at first cause I was really excited about the Campaign. But then I started to see all the lies, the poor campaign ai even on hard, the horrible way the loading screens worked, the menu, that thing works horibile. I'll still play it since I am one of the few people who's game doesn't crash, but all in all, they just killed Warcraft 3.

My honest impressions can be found below (for info, I played the crap out of Warcraft 3 back in the day and finished the expansion and replayed the game several times during the course of the past 17 years. I have never played WOW):

    I'm playing WIII:R on a newly purchased I7 9750 gaming laptop, 16gb ram, GTX 1660 ti and an SSD. the laptop is connected to a 240hz, 27" gaming monitor that produces crisp and detailed graphics at 1080p resolution maximum. My rig runs all the latest games on high settings. Therefore, my video settings were set to 1080p - high graphics and the game played smoothly, I didn't encounter any graphical glitch whatsoever or even slowdowns or drops in framerates in intense battles (I encountered one other bug I will describe in the cons section below)

    Pros:
    - The remastered graphics are fantastic. The game is colourful and detailed. If you zoom in on the characters, you'll notice their detailed and shiny armors and skins. The graphics are a huge improvement over the original and don't believe all these crying babies that tell you otherwise. Your pions / grunts and heroes have much more polygons and it is noticeable. It is difficult to go back to the original version of the game after playing the remastered version. Characters have more fluid and detailed animations as well, buildings are colourful and have animation. Resolution is crisp, the overall look and feel of the game is great.
    - The game plays smoothly on higher frame rates (at least on my PC) and I did not have the impression it is very demanding in terms of PC requirements, there are much more options than the original in the video section in order to adjust the game at your liking.
    - Gameplay is surprisingly fresh and enjoyable for a 17 years remastered old game. Battles are still exciting and challenging at higher difficulties. I noticed there are slight improvement to the story, like more relics the heroes can grab for their inventory.
    - Sound is remastered and very crisp and detailed. Music is great.
    - I am a single player person most of the time, but I tried a multiplayer match for the sake of this review as well as a skirmish match against the AI. Verdict: it's quick and easy to run into a multiplayer match or adjust the conditions for a multiplayer map. I had some difficulties finding the Skirmish at first, but it's definitely there and there are different scenarios/ maps to extend the fun after you complete the story.
    - There are different skins you can unlock (by beating challenges or missions) and use them as Avatar. It's not very interesting as I don't care about this kind of things but some people might enjoy unlocking them all. And there are quite a few.
    - You have the ability to chat with other players from the main lobby and share some information. you can interact with them, by requesting friendship for example or reporting them even.
    - Navigating the options is intuitive and responsive, and as I mentioned before you have quite a few options you can adjust. Much more than the original that's for sure.
    - There is an option to play with the remastered graphics or original. Try it and see the difference

    Cons:
    - Blizzard should have sold the game at a discount for the people that already own W3. It is unfair that a game you bought 18 months ago just disappears and you are unable to access it anymore. I even think it is illegal.
    - I noticed a bug where after completing a mission, the game crashes when you are starting the next mission and immediately shows you the "defeat" screen. It is easily remediable by leaving the game and accessing it again. These bugs can easily and quickly be addressed with a patch.

    To conclude: I would like to thank Blizzard for the efforts they put in this game. I hope their developers can read this review and know that there are genuine people out there that have an independent opinion and who truly appreciate the efforts they put to bring us this amazing game. Also I have zero doubt that 99% of these so called reviewers here have either not played the game or are expressing a political or business related opinion against Blizzard. Anyway, it is too obvious these opinions are biased and not based on facts. Blizzard, keep sending us the good stuff and we will support your efforts by purchasing your products and show you our gratitude.

    This game is a literal downgrade of a game made 2 decades ago. It runs slow, the character models look worse?. The voice acting is ... worse? the new FMV is .. also worse! It's just bad all around. Don't even mention all the bugs. Asking money for a downgrade on abandonware is crazy. Fastest refund I've ever asked for. AVOID.

I feel they advertised the game for almost an entire year in a way that seemed like reforged was a completely new game and that they would change the campaigns to adapt it to the new lore. They were on board with that idea up until last blizzcon where they decided to back up and just give the lackluster visual update that wasn't really that big of a deal since the engine strips away every touch of "Warcraft" in it. I was so excited when WoWhead datamined the models for Anasterian Sunstrider for Reforged and just imagined how it'd feel to do the Scourge quests again with the details that we have now in the updated lore. I believe the main reason people bought the game was because of the things they promised and ended up not giving, that's why it had a huge blizzcon announcement while other remasters like StarCrafts weren't even promoted in a huge way (and yes I understand the difference between a full on visual update with a new engine and a resolution refinement, but you get the point)

    They said people didn't want to have the new stories put into the game, even though it wasn't ever a big deal because you had the original game to experience that, and the final result of that was a **** ton of people paying $40 for a delayed game that only carries a new graphics engine. I just feel like changing the decision and the philosophy in which the game was being developed mid-production led to this, which it's not technically a scam, but it wasn't what most people were looking for while buying this game and the critics show that. I think the worst part in all of this mess is that even though it's a visual "update" some of the models still look stiffy and terrible. For those defending this absurdly bad product saying "This is just what we wanted, just a visual update!" Just take a look st the other reviews. It's not what people wanted at all.     Not the game they promised. They "sold" us a remade and updated game in 2018 and now they released just a reskin with pretty much nothing changed and tons of bugs. In addition, they wiped out the old Warcraft 3 content from the servers. This game is a scam that deserves to be refunded.

    Reforged is perhaps the biggest cashgrab of recent years, coming from a company with shady practices as of recent time. Not only does it not improve the base game, but it fundamentally breaks it so much, that any future updates are a far and away dream.

    Blizzard has a paragraph in the user agreement for this game that they have exclusive rights to any custom game which is made in this game. Just unbelievably **** from one of the companies who used to be my #1 by miles. This game does not deliver on what it promises and I am not even going to start on the price (40$) on what is essentially a HD mod.

    Проблема отнюдь не в том, что ждали чего то бОльшего в плане контента. Игра банально сырая с технической стороны. Вот лишь пара моментов с которыми я регулярно сталкивался пройдя 4 кампании.
    1) За андедов аколит требовал от меня проклясть рудник для добычи. 4 других аколита старательно работали на этом же руднике

    1) За андедов аколит требовал от меня проклясть рудник для добычи. 4 других аколита старательно работали на этом же руднике
    2) Если отправить юнитов добывать дерево за пределами экрана, а потом вернуть камеру туда спустя продолжительное время вы увидете лесопад
    3) Если с выделеным юнитом просто водить мышкой по миникарте будет перманентно звучать фраза этого юнита
    4) Эффекты вроде горящих зданий находящиеся в тумане войны устраивают стробоскоп из пламени, пожалуй, эпичнее чем на Курской дуге.
    5) После загрузки игры сбрасываются вейпоинты из зданий
    6) Герои в кат сценах порой разговаривают не открывая рта

    When I click on win , I can't back to game full screen mode... low fps, freezes, lags... and I pre-paid this "game"

    Pros: Better UI, Battle.net, Integration, HD Models, Grid Hotkeys, Cool Skins, 2 CGI Cinematics remade (one of them was just the trailer and the other one is **** though), Added Auto Save (though you can't turn it off as I find it annoying and pointless, especially since it saves based on map and it fills you save folder with unwanted saves)

    Cons: No new in-game cinematics (like it was promised when preorders began), All but the 2 CGI Cinematics are the same, Unit Portraits look unfinished, Campaign Maps are almost identical to the old ones, Only 3 'new' levels (were available before, just not in the main campaign), Massive Lag Spikes, Disconnected immediately after loading maps, Some models are unreadable, took 1 more month and didn't improve anything significant, Out of 60+ missions, reportedly only 8 are altered, custom campaigns are no longer available as of now, grid hotkeys work, but display wrong hotkey, cancel is bound to V instead of being bound to ESC (like it is in Starcraft II), grid hotkeys can only be change by text, and not from inside the game

    Близард по факту просто убили варкрафт. Кампания с новым графоном выглядит как говно. У вас ландшафт хуже чем в оригинале. Это ещё на фоне кучи багов. Ладера нету и сетевая составляющая в плохом состоянии. Когда ладер завезут уже никого не будет. Для кастомок вели анальную модерации, плюс никто делать ещё под такой лагадром кастомки не будет

    Огромнейший потенциал полностью проебали, игра сдохнет через месяц гарантирую и исправлять её никто не будет(максимум баги починят для галочки и все)    … Expand

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
