    I didn't want to leave a review on this game. For one big reason. I haven't purchased it. I feel that in order to be able to review a game, you need to have either; a) Purchased it. Or b) played it. In this case, it is kind of a special circumstance.

    I have been playing classic Warcraft III since its conception in 2002. I may go through a couple months a year where I catch up on new games, or replay other installments of games I enjoy, however, Warcraft III is always there on the desktop and ready to go. I love this game. The campaign, the custom maps, the LAN parties that I still do with my family. The characters, the voices, the aesthetic. Everything about this game is enjoyable and has been for for the last 17 - 18 years.
    When I was reading the news of the terrible release of this game, I felt bad for the people who purchased it. I felt glad that I waited and that I could still enjoy playing classic Warcraft III until this game got fixed before making the purchase myself.
    I went to jump on classic the other day to have a game against my brother in LAN only to find I needed to update the game. When it finally loaded I saw that the game had been updated to integrate Reforged into it. I thought the two games were going to be separate and it never occurred to me that the classic version would actually be affected in any way by the remastered version. I can still play classic Starcraft for example, despite the remastered version being out there.
    It has completely changed the feel of the game for me. I find it ugly to look at and difficult to play. It's still classic...but a hollow version of classic. If I wanted to experience any of the Reforged updates, I would have purchased the game. Now I feel like the very existence of this game has ruined the experience of the classic game I actually enjoy playing.

    If this gets fixed, and they somehow make them two separate games again rather than sharing the same main page, I will update the score and review the game on its own merits. Until that happens, though, and as long as it is actually affecting the enjoyment of a game I can't even load anymore, I am keeping this score low.    … Expand

The servers have been giving us 200 ping for no good reason. I don't understand why Blizzard wants old customers to pay full price for the product again. 5-15 dollars instead would be way more fair. And another thing... why oh why do some of these bugs even exist? The one that confuses me the most is the team color bug. How did that even happen? Yes, they patched that out, but before they did, the servers were giving us like 60 or less ping. Why break things while fixing stuff? The old Blizzard wouldn't have made mistakes like these, and it's easy to see why people are so angry. I honestly think the game has a lot of potential and it's fantastic that they have returned to the game and attempted to improve it.

    I thought I would rate this a 6 out of 10 with the lag, but the new lag is even worse than what we had before the update, and I was rating this 8 out of 10 with less lag... but they apparently patched out the less lag for no reason and since it's worse then its score is even worse. I value multiplayer experience highly when I look at real time strategy games and this game fails hard on the multiplayer end. I can't recommend it to anyone in its current state.    … Expand

Don't purchase reforged in its current state, and only play original Warcraft 3 off the disk it comes on. Updating will force you to install 30+ gigs, which is insane.

    This game is worse than the original. All PC has better computer components than we had 17 years ago but yet the graphics is horrific. Heores of the storm has better graphics. I expected more, game fps is slow and clunky def do not buy

You join in and its just a half a**ed chat and main menu. It wouldnt be this terrible if I could actually play the campaign or custom games if it didnt crash me to defeat screens consistently.     WC3 custom games made my childhood. I have many memories of lan party games that lasted for countless hours. To see them destroy the remake, kill the original, and 9mm down all the custom games and creators is UNFORGIVABLE. The idea of watching another apology at blizcon is to much. It's becoming a tradition .

    -Графика и общее представление сцен в кампании хуже чем в 2018 на близконе.
    -Рейтинговых игр нет
    -ФПС скачет как чумной
    -Игра периодически вылетает
    -Кланов нет
    По факту в игре нету даже того, что было в 2002 году. Можно, конечно, оправдываться что отдел разработки/саппорта/перерисовки классических игр маленький и не успевает, но сроки компания ставила себе сама. Да и ценник у игры(Покупал расширенную версию) вполне себе как у полноценной новой.

    То что есть на сейчас тянет на уровень ранней беты.
    Чего на самом деле ожидали:
    -Перерисованных роликов(Сначала говрили что это будет, потом что не будет, потом что будет частично)
    -Качественного бнет с внутриигровыми турнирами, кланами, каналами
    -Оптимизацию ФПС(Даже на хороших карточках есть пролаги в моменты построения )
    -От себя лично еще ожидал может каких-то расширенных кампаний, которые не вносили бы изменения в лор(Может про мурлоков рандомных или какие то карты по примеру кампании за рексара). Благо таких карт-кампаний нарисовали за 18 лет существования вк3 уже овер 100500.

    Было бы все это - была бы оценка 10/10, не смотря на мелкие нюансы типо непривычной озвучки(старую версию которой, кстати, также обещали сделать доступной ) неестественной травы, путаницы из юнитов и прочего.

    0/10 считаю справедливой оценкой так как предзаказав игру почти за полтора года до ее выхода в итоге я не получил даже функционала 18(!) летней давности. Это не игра, это бета.    … Expand

Them also saying they own all rights to custom games just because they are afraid of losing a game like DotA again is insane.     The game was buggy didn’t even load matchmaking.... no ladder matches or ranked... no new cutscenes as they promised.... no new ui..... they used the same textures as the first one..... and to top it all off it’s 30$.... I refunded it as soon as I found out because I was searching the forums since it wasn’t letting me play it.

    I’ll jump on the bandwagon with the 0, but I actually am pissed too because I didn’t buy the game, and am still affected by it because of the changes that were released with it. I hate the changes personally, and I wish they would have left the original alone.

    This game is a travesty. Horrible frame rates. Bugs left and right. Tons of features and effects that were promised but never delivered. Blizzard should be ashamed. I got my refund and I'm still angry. That's how bad this game is. This is by far their worst product ever. SHAME ON YOU BLIZZARD!

    Blizzard made some of my very first PC games, and I have supported them even throughout the last few years, dispite some of their questionable decisions. I was definitely right to worry about Activision ruining this once amazing company. This game is just one of the many indicators that they no longer have the same passion for producing the quality content they used to make.     This game has broken my experience with the original Warcraft 3.
    I've pulled my game mods as best I can and advise Activision Blizzard that I have not agreed to your new EULA and I own the registered and unregistered copyrights and trademarks my works.

    When this game can ruin the experience of a classic game, then the company needs to make the proper adjustments to correct this error.

Simply an act of greed over creativity. Not allowing people to get a refund once they launch the game. What happen to the blizzard we used to know.

    I love blizzard I am a huge fan but they can’t make something like this I have huge standards for blizz and they haven’t been showing us those standards recently so because of that I will give them a bad rating so they can hopefully learn. lets hope Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 can set them in the right Direction!

    I remember forcing my parents to get an Internet subscription because I was online so much playing Wc3, their phone bill was massive... And now... It's replaced by this terrible mess...

    I'm totally done with Blizzard, I quit WoW a year ago and I had a thought of giving a shot at Shadowlands, but NO. Never again buying any of their games. No Diablo 4, nothing. Feeling so cheated and "laughed" at by their reaction.

    The game wasn't the same as the trailer, the graphic was even worse than the predecessor, and very buggy and has unstable latency. The T&C was a scam that's basically made to stole money from fan-made mods.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
