    I played Warcraft3 from launch on my Mac until the game stopped launching in that OS. I recently learned of this new version and gave it a try. The new menu is a bloated mess, the graphics look terrible, and the performance is sluggish.

    I wish they had just patched the old version of Frozen Throne to work on newer operating systems.

    I've waited all this time for fixes before reviewing it, but it seems like I've just lost $ on this game. It still broken, terrible performance, no updates at all. Just plain garbage and my money is gone now.

    Horrific remake that almost broke the wonderful community that been built around this masterpiece. It was so laughably simple for Blizzard to get a big win from this and a lot of kudos/love from the community. Just update the graphics (even to a DOTA 2 standard would have been wonderful), update the ladder with a few quality of life improvements (easier to do AT, easier to host games,Horrific remake that almost broke the wonderful community that been built around this masterpiece. It was so laughably simple for Blizzard to get a big win from this and a lot of kudos/love from the community. Just update the graphics (even to a DOTA 2 standard would have been wonderful), update the ladder with a few quality of life improvements (easier to do AT, easier to host games, reconnect, mute chat etc). That is literally all the community wanted and it shows how out of touch this once legendary development studio has become with it's customers but also its own standards.… Expand

    They sold us : cinematics....nothing
    Graphics are not that bad but its not enough these days. Reforged was not the appropriate name. GOTY was better...but without touching the old one. Nowadays, old is always better ;)

    Still bad, still no features available in classic Warcraft III. The unresponsive UI written in some web framework instead of native technologies, which causes lags, strange behaviors etc. still annoys af.

    The original warcraft had a beloved user interface, clans, chat channels, and a ladder ranking system.     This game was a big part of my childhood and I connect many memories with it.
    Reforged is the best example of how a masterpiece evolves to a trash bin. Seriously, Im pretty sure I wont buy any more games of Blizzard at all.

    A ver no soy de los que tira hate, pero cuando algo que me disgusta lo digo. El juego, se podría decir, y de una manera optimista, que es jugable, creo. Pero lo que no logro comprender es que, como es que ya no se puede jugar los WC clásicos y que la empresa te obligue a jugarlo, eso definitivamente es malo. En fin, el juego tiene muchas cosas por arreglarse y que de una buena vezA ver no soy de los que tira hate, pero cuando algo que me disgusta lo digo.     This game is worse than the original. The worst thing is they removed the original so I can't even play the actual game I paid for ages ago. A baltant and pathetic cash grab. Bliz has fallen, no longer the company that used to make great games at all.

    Very sad for such an amazing old game. The have completely ruin the title, like they are doing on Diablo, WoW and so forth...
    The game generally has a terrible UI, barely remastered cutscenes, and it's super buggy.
    Seems like Metascores from big review companies are only for circulate money, and make you buy it.

    Downgraded Visuals:
    Despite being marketed as a "reforged" version, many of the in-game graphics and cutscenes did not reflect the quality one would expect from a modern-day remaster. Some character models seemed off, and the visual fidelity in certain areas felt like a step backward from the original.

    Broken Promises:
    Pre-release promotional material showcased reimagined cutscenes and a more immersive storytelling experience. But what was delivered was far from that promise, making many feel misled.

    Technical Glitches:
    Players encountered numerous bugs and performance issues upon release. From crashing to freezing, these technical glitches severely hindered gameplay and were uncharacteristic of a Blizzard product.

    Classic Version Affected:
    What stung even more for some players was that Reforged also affected those who owned the original game. Due to the merging of the classic and reforged game clients, players of the original Warcraft III found themselves contending with many of the same issues plaguing Reforged, without even choosing to buy the new version.

    Features Missing:
    Several features from the original, such as custom campaigns and LAN support, were inexplicably absent in Reforged. For a game that was supposed to be an upgrade, the removal of beloved features was hard to digest.

    Lack of Proper Communication:
    Blizzard's response to the community's grievances felt inadequate, leading to further disillusionment. For a company known for its dedicated fanbase and community interaction, the radio silence and perceived lack of accountability were disappointing.

    In conclusion, Warcraft III: Reforged had the potential to breathe fresh life into a classic, introducing it to a new generation while satisfying the nostalgia of long-time fans. Unfortunately, it fell short on many fronts. For those who pre-ordered with high hopes, it's easy to understand why they might feel deceived by the final product.     As a 10yr old kid I worked my ass off to save the money to buy the original WC3. This game on the other hand is the first and only game I have ever refunded because it was so terrible.

    how did they manage to make it worse? AND charge you $80 for it? Insane.

    Not what we asked for or were promised. Reforged is a 100% loss and back step in every way. The only update they made was the models and it totally betrays the original art style. At least let us play the original and not force us to update to the unnecessarily large new version to connect to Battle.net.

The ToS was updated to claim ownership of any custom content that is developed via the WC3 Creator tool - this was an anti-community change to prevent another DOTA from happening and created an already contentious relationship with the custom developers. On top of this, the actual release removed pretty much all essential online tools for community building.Where to begin...     Performance of the game was absolutely shocking, even on a rig that boasts a 3090 the FPS was less than desirable, apparently it can be fixed with some internal tweaking of the ini files but this shouldn't be required from an AAA studio. I understand why people refunded this game, I did it myself.

    I hope the game will receive the respect it deserves but it seems like it won't at this point.    … Expand

Этот тот случай, когда можно использовать труды старых разработчиков(а именно создателей классического варкрафта 3 в 2004 году), накинуть на все катсцены новые модельки(за всю сюжетную кампанию изменена только миссия с луносветом) поставить то же аудио и просто выкатить игру как в далеком 2004. НиВаркрафт 3 - самая большая афера Близардов после перезапуска классических дополнений. Этот тот случай, когда можно использовать труды старых разработчиков(а именно создателей классического варкрафта 3 в 2004 году), накинуть на все катсцены новые модельки(за всю сюжетную кампанию изменена только миссия с луносветом) поставить то же аудио и просто выкатить игру как в далеком 2004. Ни профиле(изначально), ни нормальной игротеки, которая не вылетала бы ни других нововведений или даже простого изменения баланса(единственное что немного поменяли артефакты за несколько месяцев после старта у нежити), игра не стоит своих денег, и даже если бы она была бесплатной в нее не играло бы больше людей ибо в связи с вымирающей эпохой стратегий большие боссы не решились провести нормальную маркетинговую работу. Поняв это а середине разработки они вообще сократили штаб вдове, что заставило оставшихся выпускать игры сырой и недоделанной. Что говорить, если игра 2004 года с гареной(по факту пиратской приложухой от обычных разрабов без больших денег) работает лучше, чем продукт компании-миллионника.Одно радует, близы решили не менять внешность, пол гендер и расу у классических героев, дабы не отбить желание на покупку у таких олдов-терпил как я, которые до последнего надеялись на нормальное обновление игры и возрождение той самой любимой компании детства как Близард. Грустно наблюдать как с процессом взросления, погибает столь любимая и перспективная компания… Expand

    Blizzard really outdid themselves on this one; their recent releases are bad but this one takes the trophy; this remaster failed on so many levels honoring the original game it was meant for; in the manner of the following (but not limited to):

    - And for those that can only run the Classic version they are now unable due to the demanding nature of the Game.
    - It's overly expensive for its worth but delivers so little.
    - Blizzard removing the old iteration of the game and forces everyone to buy the Reforged (Classic was 10 USD, Reforged is at least 30 USD).

    This game could've been more, but sadly Blizzard is no longer the gaming giant it was before; and this is a prime example of its fall from grace.    … Expand

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
