The Witcher III ranks right up there with Ultima IV, Skyrim, and Fallout 3. 10/10.

While I feel the game's a mid-90s in quality, I'm bumping that up to 10 to offset the various 0s and 1s docking it FAR too much based on the graphics quality. While there are some negatives that are perfectly valid (such as a 4 that docked most of it based on the control scheme, which I agree is unintuitive), take the lowest scores with a massive grain of salt.

This is a game that is WELL worth your time based on the story alone, and the combat is just as punishing on the "Broken Bones" setting as The Witcher 2 was - sometimes more, to the point that I'm tempted to toggle the setting down to Normal instead.

I want to have interesting characters as well as a deep and dark stroyline in my RPGs. Also a good character development/progression and a entertaining combat system that doesn't get repetetive too fast is important for the immersion as well. Bloody hell, I don't know why I dislike almost every new game nowadays.

"Maybe I'm getting to old for this ****

However, I created this pro and contra list for those of you in my age and with the same liking of videogames:

    The good stuff:
    -overall good artdesign
    -impressive Voiceacting (english)
-deep, dark and brutal Fantasy Universe
-can't tell anything about the story yet, but I guess it will be okey

    The bad stuff:
    -downgraded graphics
-therefore only sligtly above average graphics
-PC performance is not the best (50-60 fps on hight with gtx780, 16gb, i7)
-I heard PC contolls are pretty bad, can't tell you about that though, for I'm playing with a XBox Controller
    -horrible german voiceacting, again :(

-not so good controlls over the character, feels "slippery"
-combatsystem is very repetetive, you litteraly only use fast attack (when not blocking), dodge for punish enemys attacks and the shield cast for backup, the rest is quite useless
-boring talentsystem, most of the talents are like: (1/5) do +5% more damage, +1%Staminareg. etc.
-horrible lootsystem, kinda feels like Dragon Age 2, where you just pick up **** the WHOLE FREAKING TIME and sell it, there is SO MUCH to LOOT and it's so damn boring. It's like they tried to stretch the game time with it.
-Sidequests are horrible, it's like go to X, kill 5 of Y - done. Rinse a repeat.
-jumping is annyoing and ansolutely not needed in the game

Tiny little things that are annoying:
-craftig and repair system is boring and unnecessary
-you can go to a grindstone/anvil to get a 15min buff for your weapons/armor (there is not even a animation for it and you have to fast travel to those locations every time)
-I had a siedequests where I killed yet some other ghouls and when they all died the night truned suddenly into day for no reason in a tiny little ingame machinima
-on a other sidequest I litterally had to help an old lady to get her fry pan out of her little house, because she locked herself out or something (yeah, await more quests like that)
-minimap needs quite long to load (like 2 secs or something), and everytime you zoom out, you could unmeant turn to the world map, so you have to load the normal map again
-Peseant dialogues couldn't be more underwhelming, it's like "Huh? Yeah? Go away, Freak!, Don't look at me!" or, my most favourite, "Talk to our Leader." or something like that

Well I guess that's good enough for now. Is this game worth 50-60€, I think not, better wait for a sale, dont be impatient and save your money. You know I'm right :-)

    Pros:
    1) Wide open world and freedom of exploration. Exploration feels rewarding with all the places of power, valuable (and not so valuable, which is also important) loot, different enemies and quests you can encounter in your journey. 10/10
    2) Immersive and believable environments, including villages, a rather big town/city for a video game (excluding Assassin's Creed and GTA), forests, fields, waterways. etc., with significant level of detail to them. 10/10
    3) Inventory management. Was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they included different armors (in four pieces) which are actually displayed on the character, as well as many weapons, ingridients, clutter, etc. All those things, even insignificant miscellaneous items like borken rakes, are vital for a game which strives to be truly immersive. 9/10 - as you can't manipulate objects within the environment, like in TES series, placing all those little thingies on shelves and tables in your house:)
    4) Graphics. Despite the whole downgrade thing, the game looks good and is pleasant to play. I run it on gtx 980, all ultra, 2560 x 1440 - no significant lag. Haven't measured the exact FPS though, but the game flows comfortably, suppose it is around 50-60 FPS. There are a couple of annoying things like trees' branches and sunflowers clipping through the buildings' walls, which can manifest itself even during cutscenes in building interiors. Some textures and meshes, mostly in interiors look lazy close up, but that is just a minor thing. Overall the game looks awesome. 8/10
    5) Characters/ dialogue - seem rather believable and well written. There is a nice balance between seriousness and humor in this game, whith the main story line and overall setting being all mature and gritty while some of the sidequests and minor interactions can make you smile or even laugh at times. Whith a fine level of detail to the characters and an ok facial animations this part of the game experience is pretty great for an open world game of this scale. 10/10
    6) Character progression/levelling - is rather interesting and encourages sometimes hard choices/ tradeoffs. 9/10

Cons (or the things I am not entirely satisfied with):
    1) The pc mouse/keyboard controls seem unresponsive and inconvenient. This is not the problem of this game in particular. I remember this type of controls scheme (where the mouse is responsible not for turning the caracter around, but for the movement of the camera) as far back as Gothic 2 (which this game reminds me a lot of) and most certainly it was around for a lot longer. It takes some getting used to and spoils the experience just a little, making you run and jump around the chest or enemiy's body, trying to face it correctly in order to loot. 6/10
    2) The biggest problem for me so far - the levelled quests system! I think that while it is great that the game does not level with the player, adapting all the enemies to the player's current abilities, the quest level requirements system currently implemented in witcher 3 is very artificial, immersion breaking and a bit lazy. Why put artificial constrains on players, making them avoid certain things just because they are told they are not yet fit for that? For example I took a quest in Novigrad (no spoilers rest assured), without immediately looking into my journal to check if I was worthy (why would I want to look in the journal while entering a house - which activates the quest?). Agreeing to help the guy I was jumped by several 'immortal' thugs who I was not able to even harm (Witcher being butcered by minor city bandits - immersion breaking). Later on I realized that this was a 30-something levelled quest. Had to reload. I am absolutely ok with having to run from enemies above my level or facing difficulties, but placing players in situations like I described above is not cool. 5/10
    3) Combat system - not entirely bad, yet it is lacking in depth and encouraging unrealistic behavior by the player. Most fights look like jumping and running around the foes trying to hit him while avoiding being hit yourself. I am yet to see the game where realistic swordfighting with blocking, sidestepping and parrying instead of jumping 4 meters to one's side is implemented. Yes, It is possible to block and sidestep in this game, but more often than not the most effective way to evade injury is to jump - that's sad. 6/10

Overall, while there are many more minor pros and cons (for example I am not yet able to assess the storyline), I should say that this game lived up to my expectations and in some ways even surpassed them. As an RPG fan with almost 15 years of gaming 'experience', valuing immersion, freedom, choices, and level of detail I enjoyed this game very much, even being just 10 hours in.

8/10 in current state, probably 10/10 if the CDPR do something with levelled quests and controls (which,to my mind, is highly unlikely).

The people you meet, the places you visit and the situations you go through are getting even more interesting and absorbing. Remember you can also play two previous games!

    Enough about the back story.
The game is just full of things I fell in love with in Sapkowki's books. Various quests, perfect surroundings (my joy is multiplied as I am from Poland and those Slavic accents are closer to my soul) outstanding characters, models, dubbing and the magic that is added through DETAILS.

Not only visual details but the sense of humour, dialogues and other things that cannot be measured. That gives you an opportunity to join the game and enjoy it like no other.

Just take that risk and go deep. Do not skip dialogues, read the books and feel the game, its magic.

This is probably the best RPG of this decade.

While its not entirely perfect, I want to give a 10 for going the extra mile in nearly everything, where other games fall short. A big example of that is that the game provides meaningful quests, all woven into the story. There are no simple fetch quests, everything is intertwined and more complex than it seems with real consequences.

Sound and Music - 10/10. Love the soundtracks personally. Side quests, merchants everything has voice acting and is done really well.

Controls and combat - 10/10.Personally had no problem whatsoever with controls. Combat is precise and all about timing and am loving it.Monsters are done really well as they have done a good job separting each different types with their own style plus speed of attacking, dodging and all . Truly comes alive in the hardest two difficulty . If you don't lock on, target can switch unexpectedly if button mashing and if you do lock on, its hard to keep an eye on all the enemies. So jus take it slow and methodical for first few levels and soon ull be chopping heads off left and right. One problem people might have is with the FOV as it can't be changed plus some keys such as WASD can't be rebinded.

Story and contents 9.5/10 - Been a long time fan of the series since the books plus the first two witcher. They have done a really good job of making the world come alive and meaningful side quests with superb voice acting plus cutscenes makes the game truly immersive. Only complaint is wish the hidden areas werent permanently marked on map and had to talk to people or find books, notes to unlock em.

Inventory, alchemy and crafting 8/10 - Money is hard to come by and theres lotsa goodies to buy, craft and find. Loot everything u find.Almost everything can be sold or dismantled for crafting. Alchemy has been changed. Once u craft something its permanent with fixed number of uses .U jus need hard alcohol in ur inventory to refill it while meditating. I like this as u dont have to go around picking every herbs and plants as there are lots.Main gripe is inventory can get very cluttered and wish there was a sort button.

Final verdict. 10/10. Gonna give it a perfect score. They've done a brilliant job .Few complaints but rest of the game is soo good iam gonna overlook it .Plus its gonna have awesome mod support which will tenfold its longevity.
The wait was worth it and am so satisfied with the product that i had to make an account and review it.Been gaming since the awesome Ultima series and this is my first time ever commenting on anything over the net.

I'm running an I7-2600k at 5GHz and a GTX-970 at 1420MHz, and at everything 100% ultra settings. I average anywhere from 40-50 FPS, so that's why I gave it a 9. With only the slightest decrease in graphics I can get 10 more frames so it isn't too bad really I suppose, I'm just a complainer lol.

This is what I really hate about User Reviews, Too many trolls but even the 10 out of 10s has anyone even completed the game yet I doubt it but we are forces to give untrue review because of these idiots lying through there teeth just because they cant afford to up grade their pcs to run it and they have been warned you need a high end PC to run it.
Scores mean absolutely nothing good and bad. everything hear is a review in progress and not a real review. I absolutely love this game so far, it seems it may be the next revolution of games and other devs can learn from this but I haven't finished the game yet, I've put in 15ish hours so I cant review it and don't want to score it but I have no choice on this site so only the first 15 hours gets a 10 out of 10 hopefully it stays through out coz the story is amazing the graphics have not been downgraded, the demo was 4k everything maxed out, unless you have that set up forget it, (there will be sweet fx mods anyway) sound and music are movie standard, music is some of the best video game music ever. Game play is hard but enjoyable, unfortunatley 3rd person suffer in most games eg GTA 5, Red Dead and this game they all get a little bit fiddly in tight spots and thats' the only thing Skyrim does better, First person switchs (Skyrim had the worse 3rd person ever) It's such a same Witcher doesnt have that option coz the world is the best looking openword game of all time.

AMAZING visuals along with a seamless world that makes you feel like you've actually traveled back in time is a win situation in my books. The in depth crafting systems for both Alchemy, and Blacksmithing(Armor/Weapons) makes you want to explore what can be made and really brings out the depth of the world with the sheer amount of items availble. It truly is a paradise for RPG lovers anywhere. If you have liked pass tittles such as Oblivion/Skyrim, or Dragon Age Origins as much as I have, then do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this one. A special shout out to the developers of this wonderful game with their free DLC practices and going back to the way things should with a solid, full length, non-expensive expansion pack that is going to be worth every nickel. Fingers crossed that other developers follow suit with them. I know I will be supporting them through thick and thin. Expand

I was not on the hype train so I wasn't expecting anything. I only recently "got into" The Witcher series after having bought TW2 cheaply on Steam. Finished it and quite liked it. Pretty small and confined space-wise which was my only gripe about that game. TW3 seems to have fixed that and then some. Needless to say having no expectations, this has blown me away. Can't wait to play this game again when I'm not, which again, Morrowind was the last game to invoke that feeling.

I don't get the moans about performance at all. I run the game on Ultra with a few settings (foliage, shadows) on high and hairworks off (very ubersampling-like in that it doesn't seem to add that much but it eats VRAM like no tomorrow), at 60FPS @1080 on a single GTX 970. Which is by no means a cheap card but I was expecting a lot less reading some of the reviews here. Overall, Very, very impressed. Also if PS4 (which I own) manages to produce these graphics I am amazed, even though it's at 30FPS maximum.

Early candidate for Game of the Year for me.

I am probably one of the few gamers that care more about story then I necessarily about play; however there has definitely been games in the past that have been unplayable for me due to strange mechanics.

With said, I feel like the game play mostly follows suit with the previous witchers, especially the second one. There are times it's harder to control Geralt, and when I'm fighting, especially by edges, I find myself tumbling down the side of it.

Despite the "down grade" I think the graphics are definitely up to standard and on my computer I can't even play max settings; I have heard that max setting don't change that much from medium or high, however they look fine to me. I have a bigger issue with the lack of motion within the camera, and my ability to control it more so then the graphics.

Anyway, despite some issues I have with how the mechanics of the game play, or interface work, I find the story and world thrilling.

I like the fact that Geralt in this game as so many more options when it comes to gear and customizing him. The world is dark and grim; the witcher and game of thrones have much in common.

Because I find the world and the story so fascinating and view playing RPGs as interacting with a novel (or something along those lines).

Game play is a bonus to me and the story alone is enough to have me give it a 10/10.

The amount of content is staggering, but unlike most other open world games, it never feels stale or repetitive. Every side quest feels unique, and almost every small "?" on the map leads to a new mystery to unravel, or treasure to be discovered. There are so many villages to liberate, caves and temples to explore, and missing people to find, that you almost forget that there was even a main storyline in the first place. In this regard, it is much like Elder Scrolls games, but with more unique and interesting back stories to each quest.

The combat is a vast improvement over the previous 2 games in the series, and is quite enjoyable and challenging. The main story arc, although I am not that far into it, seems incredible so far. I have a medium level rig, and on medium/high settings, the game runs smooth as silk, and it is a gorgeous, so no complaints in that department. The only negatives I have been able to spot so far have been some minor clipping issues, and the movement can be a little awkward at times. I especially like the way that they have made it so that you do not have to had already played the previous Witcher games to enjoy Wild Hunt. I'd still say it's a good idea so that you can remember who some of the returning characters are, but it is not necessary. From what I've heard about the console versions, it does not run too well. especially on PS4. But the consoles will always struggle to keep up with the PC version and for me at least I have been fully able to run the game maxed out with over 60 FPS constantly. The world is truly open, with satisfying content all over, the loot gets you feeling every time, not spoiling you though.

What can I say, I love it, therefore it deserves a 'ploughing' 10/10!

This game is definitely the best RPG I've played to date, I've got 14 hours game time in 1 day and I can't get away from it. The atmosphere, the story, the gameplay, everything is brilliant.

I'm playing on the second hardest setting and have more or less cleared the first area (all points of interest, etc.), and I can say it was fairly difficult and now that I'm in Velen the game is really challenging at times. I think I've died about 30 times so far, quick-saves are really important, even though auto-saves work pretty good too.

I've nothing bad to say about the game. The talk about downgrade is completely baseless and untrue. The game looks better to me than on the gameplay trailers and even if you don't like how it looks now, you can always mod it or tweak the .ini settings to make it look differently.

After the long wait the game is finally released and it's much more than I had expected. The vastness on the environment and its beauty, the voice acting and general high production levels, the greatly enhanced and intuitive interface, the combat system. The game does have some quirky movements, but those are easily ignored in face of to the overall quality.

So far i've played for about 5 hours and the game has a fantastic atmosphere, music and visuals. The combat system seems very fluid and satisfying (big step forward compared to 2nd instalment). Writting is as always outstanding. The world looks and feels alive. Even the smallest quests I encountered are well written and simply interesting. Everything looks astonishing and runs great on i5-4570, 8GB and msi gtx 760 2GB Twin Froz in 1080p on high settings (number of background character on ultra and shadows on medium) with depth of field, blur, ssao, light shafts, sharpening, vignette on. I have solid 30fps (with 30 fps cap)

Now I am sitting in my job, writting this review but the only thing I can think of is where will I go and what will I do as Geralt. This is how modern RPGs should look - with great technology but not deprived of the most important aspects of this genre: great story, characters, choices and depth - this game will not offend your intelligence (and i am a long-time fan of Planscape Torment, Vampire: Bloodlines, Fallout 1&2 and Arcanum fan). Now run to the store and buy it!

-Even being tuned down, graphics looks awesome. Especially characters faces and towns.
-Amazing soundtrack that adds to the mood.
-Combat and particularly battles against big monsters. Reminded me of Monster Hunter series. Absolutely awesome on Death March, make me sweat, curse but so satisfying when I finally beat these big bastards.
-Story, quests and storytelling in general are top notch. The pacing is also very good.
-Rather balanced economy. I dont **** coin and have to choose where to spend it. Alot goes for food since there is no auto regen on highest difficulty.
-Horse riding is fluent and feels great.
-Huge world. It took me 11 hours to just finish first tutorial map. I can see spending hundreds of hours finishing everything. And there is so much to see and explore.

    Cons
-Freezes and crashes in the beginning. Shame that they had so much time to polish game and released it with critical bugs.
-I dont like changes to alchemy. Would rather see ingredients being useful throught the game.
-Alot of upgrades to signs and alchemy are meh. I can hardly justify spending points there.
-Sometimes looting can be a pain since you have to stay directly in front of object.
-Some armors look silly on Gerald.
-They had to limit looting inside village houses. I feel like a bandit robbing everyone and it wastes too much time.
-No cooking. It would fit well here instead of just eating raw meat.

But pros far outweight cons. The game is definetly one of the best RPGs ever made and you just dont want to leave this brutal but damn interesting world. Well done CD Project RED.

Also, there's fortunately no mouse acceleration, as far as I can tell. I'd imagine a controller's 360 degree analog movement is better for this kind of game anyways than the 8 directions of WASD.

    Story:
    It's Witcher, enough said.

    Graphics:
The game looks very good. I avoided watching any of the trailers or pre-release footage, so I am not sure about the graphics downgrade, but on ultra it is easily one of the best looking games on PC to date. The optimization/frame rate is also very good. With a single GTX 970, I am running on ultra (except for foliage distance, which is on high since it has significant FPS impact) at 1080p and the frame rate almost never dips below 60 FPS.

    Audio:
AMAZING voice acting, music, and sound effects. A lot of multiplatform games these days are 50 or 60 GB (Titanfall, CoD, etc.), where 90 percent of it is uncompressed audio meant to fill up the disks on the console versions. This game is 26 GB, yet has some of the best sound I've heard in a game.

You have the main quest, which is told with superbly production values thanks to excellent voice acting, nicely detailed faces, and good animations for the most part. Then you also have the side quests, which unlike many other RPGs where the side quests merely feel like filler, there's a lot more to them here - many of the side quests feel like self-contained stories with satisfying payoffs. In terms of the gameplay, you'll be exploring this massive world, collecting loot, leveling up, unlocking new abilities, and doing everything one would expect from a modern day RPG. Then there's the combat, which may seem different than you're used to at first, and may seem more challenging than some other RPGs since the combat seems to be a lot more animated than most RPGs, but once you master it - and you will - you will love it. I especially love how you can either roll away from enemy attacks, block them, parry them, or my favorite, sidestep them stylishly. All in all, The Witcher 3 is a game that every RPG owner should own. Expand

Witcher 3... An amazing story in a wonderful world, with above average graphics, unfortunately plagued by sub standard controls and random crashes. 8/10 currently, 10/10 if KB/Mouse controls are fixed and crashes are resolved.
Short synopsis, long review. If you want in-depth discussion, this post is for you.
The world is a mixture of open world areas, reminiscent of DA: Inquisition. This actually suits the game well. It feels like a massive version of Witcher 1, alive and breathing, there for the taking. But the game still has ways to ferry you along, presenting the story and driving it's world home. It's best if I don't say much here and let you discover it for yourself! I've played many hours and am finding it fantastic!
But not far into the game, I noticed a cut scene was not playing properly. I crashed to desktop; the nVidia driver stopped responding. Okay. No problem. It's a new game, after all. An hour later, freeze in menu, crash, no notice of problem. In 8+ hours, I've had five crashes, all but one of which have been followed by an nVidia driver error. I've cleaned, then clean installed multiple drivers, but am still having issues. Many people have "fixed" it. But at this point, every single setting in the game has been blamed as the culprit. Please know that the game is amazing, and worth the hassle. I have also played for multiple hours in a row without a crash. But the freezes and crashes are very real, common issues, for some nVidia users.
Okay. Controls. Sigh. First, if you ever use a gamepad on PC, consider doing so for this game. I say that with a tear in my eye. I LOVED the Witcher's original combat style of weaving strikes and timing mouse clicks, all while aiming the camera and using signs at will. Exploring the world felt natural. In Witcher 3, keyboard control feels like controlling a boulder. The camera control feels like you're controlling a leaf in a tornado! I don't know if this is one of those of implementations where the WASD key presses are translated to directional accelerations. But, it sure feels like it. Try it out, you'll see what I mean, but you might want to turn down mouse sensitivity a bit. Another odd thing is the actual binding system. What a key press does is changed whether Geralt is in combat, swimming, riding, etc. But, the binding screen doesn't allow you to bind one key for multiple actions. Bind it in one place, then it's already used, despite the game's own defaults using keys like Shift multiple times itself. I'm using a 360 pad and it's working great so far. The best part is I can still use the mouse for my inventory and menu since the game switches between controls seamlessly. A close second is the 360 degree dodging of attacks. With a gamepad, the gameplay is quick, more responsive, and ultimately feels like the way the game was designed to be played.
The story and gameplay are so good, that the following graphics section is mainly for those for whom the graphics are the main purchasing point. I'm a image quality whore, but twenty minutes in, I was having so much fun I couldn't care less... even about aliasing! The graphics look very good, even great, but not 2013 mind blowing. There are areas where the drive to get the game running on consoles has limited what you'll see on PC. With my nVidia GPU on ultra and hairworks off, I get almost constant 60 fps. But texture quality just doesn't look ultra. Reflections are NOT dynamic, instead using a generic shader. The anti-aliasing is almost useless. Hairworks looks great, but I get large amounts of micro stuttering. I maintain a fairly high frame rate with it on, but my frame times become erratic and spiky. I feel like instead of spending development time on nVidia specific physics package, CDPR could have refined the controls. Or for a more one to one change, they could have focused on lip synching.
My final score [review in progress] is 8/10. So far, the Witcher 3 has been the most interesting, lore infused game I have played in years. The feeling I get playing this game is similar to the first time I played early Might & Magic titles. It's like arriving in the province of Daggerfall, or Oblivion for the first time. Forging a path in a world so familiar, yet utterly foreign. There is so much fun and story to be found in this game, that even stability issues and strange controls can't sink it. Ultimately, I believe CDPR will overcome these issues. In that case, my review will be changed to a 10/10.

The game is fantastic, end of story. It's an improvement upon The Witcher 2 in every way, shape and form. Remarkably good game. This is the best RPG I've ever played. Truly captivating story, dynamic combat system and outstanding graphics. It was worth every penny.

Gameplay is the most important however even that is absolute garbage, delayed actions by 0.3 seconds , character control is delayed too , graphics a real and complete joke after the downgrade for console parity idiocy, skills are pathetic and , no mod support AT LAUNCH , even worse than witcher 2 , music is terrible, story is standard witcher wich is above good, overall 3.5/10 at best ,Gameplay is the most important however even that is absolute garbage, delayed actions by 0.3 seconds , character control is delayed too , graphics a real and complete joke after the downgrade for console parity idiocy, skills are pathetic and , no mod support AT LAUNCH , even worse than witcher 2 , music is terrible, story is standard witcher wich is above good, overall 3.5/10 at best , game is a letdown EVEN IF YOU expect nothing or no improvement over the last 2 iterations of witchers, quests are good., runs @ 55-60 fps @ 1200p on 4 year old hardware wich is good,

This game is freakin' brilliant! That's what keeps going through my head as I enjoy this masterpiece. Don't believe the naysayers. I loved Skyrim, but this far exceeds it, IMO. Fantastic graphics, gameplay, and story. On top of that, CDPR has been extremely consumer-friendly, with no DRM and free DLC. Even if you hate open world RPGs, I don't see how anyone could deny the quality of this title. It certainly raises the bar. Expand

Graphics look amazing in spite of the downgrades to make it fit on consoles. Early on, but top marks for creating an adult story. Having an NPC tell me to F' Off is brilliant and sets the tone for an immersive story and environment.

So why 7/10 you ask? The KB/M controls are obviously not how this game was designed to be played, and IMO that's just inexcusable for a PC title that isn't

So why 7/10 you ask? The KB/M controls are obviously not how this game was designed to be played, and IMO that's just inexcusable for a PC title that isn't supposed to be a console port. Not only are the controls clunky and convoluted, left handed players have discovered that not all keys can be remapped. If I wanted to play a game like this with a controller, I'd buy a bloody console. Since the control function of any game is critical I can't see how any unbiased PC reviewer wouldn't automatically dock it 3 points for the clunky KB/M controls, and any professional PC reviewer who reviews the game based on Controller play should immediately turn in their press passes and pick up their paid shill badges.

Just a friendly warning for PC users. Don't even think you can play the game with kb+mouse. The controls are heavily consolized and, while technically possible to play with kb&mouse, it will be very difficult to play in serious combat encounters.

This is no Skyrim, it has a truckload of keys to use in combat and simultaneous, and it's advisable to grow a 3rd arm if you do not intend to

Graphics and effects = Excellent (GTX 960 almost ultra settings with a few things turned down 40-50fps)
Story and lore = Really quite incredible, the Immersion is unbelievable,
Controls = Feels like a delay in the responsiveness at times, but I feel this is a minor flaw really as you can easily work around this.

6 hours in and so far its been worth every penny.

Et tu CDPR? I'm not mad like some others, because more Witching is always a good thing but its pretty obvious they were handed bags of money or under the time crunch to downgrade the PC version enough for the console tard market.

Game is better than I thought it would be after all the hype the last few weeks. Graphics are what I would expect from a game in 2015, I don't have the settings on Ultra I assume they would be over the top good but not sure my rig can handle it. The combat system is what is always is in the Witcher, some love it some could do without it. Have found a few minor bugs, one quest would not finish because of how I entered the area I found a clue out of sequence, but reloaded and finished no problem. Have not had that problem on other quest. Overall very happy with the game! Expand

The Witcher 3 says no to all of this - it's a great game with a fully realized setting, it's a joy to play, the business model behind it treats its customers like human beings, and it delivers a story that finally hits the tone of the books.

I've made it pretty clear that it's hardly a flawless game, but that doesn't change the fact that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is something pretty bloody special and you should absolutely play it.
