Nov 22, 2020This was a great stand in waiting for something from Bethesda or CD. Had a lot of fun but I also really enjoyed New Vegas so it depends on the person.

Nov 12, 2020Impressive game by Obsidian after marvelous Fallout: New Vegas.
Colorful world, interesting storyline, many good quests and perfect dialogue system.
Not best graphics in 2020, but still good for not AAA project. -

Oct 30, 2020I've tried playing this game 3 time, and every time I loss my save data, and online fixes don't help, plus campions spill their life story in every conversation, its just weird and unnatural.

Oct 29, 2020Pretty good game overall, good writing, good fighting, act. It does everything pretty good, though the scale of the games maps and what not are quite small, but this game is still really good. I know I said good a lot, but that's what this game is, good. Average, moderate, good.

Oct 29, 2020Buggy garbage. I played the first 4 hours without realizing there was a bug that made the saves fail silently. Lost all my progress. The game had already been out for a year and they hadn't bothered patching this game-breaking bug!
I've been a gamer for over 30 years and have over 1000 games. I've never been so disappointed by such trash.
2* because the start was fun. -
Oct 29, 2020RPG must have an interesting plot, characters, variability and desirable an interesting gameplay - The Outer Worlds not about that. Plus lags.
If The Outer Worlds 2 will be, so Obsidian a lot of work to make from The Outer Worlds - a true rpg.
Many gamers want alternative for Mass Effect, but not this time.
1/10 for trying make space rpg. -

Sep 21, 2020The game has its problems but overall its an rpg that is well worth playing through, certainly not a fallout killer though!

Oct 31, 2019Fun game, funny characters and a nice scifi world to explore. This game is best enjoyed on hard mode. Really enjoying this game. Well done obsidian.
-
Oct 10, 2020Good game. Wish it to be a bit more hardcore without map/ui pointers on every single action/quest. Also a bit buggy still. However, great game, worth playing and buying.

Oct 7, 2020If you are a fan of good old RPSs, it's your choice. I spend 30 hours in and enjoying it rly bad.
As we sad: "It's not the best choice - It's Spacer's Choice!". -
Oct 3, 2020Bad graphics and really bad optimized game. Have a RTX 3080 and its no change after upgrade from 2070. Not recommend this game at all.
-
Oct 2, 2020I really wanted to LOVE this game, but somehow it just doesn't capture me to keep going. It's mostly fine! Which maybe is the real issue? It feels way too easy, light on the roleplaying, and while combat can be somewhat satisfying, the weapon diversity isn't enough to keep me coming back. Some of the locales are fun, but they haven't been enough to keep me engaged in the experience.
-
Sep 29, 2020Marred by some lazy design, a boring story, and a bland setting this RPG falls short from greatness.

Sep 28, 2020Incredibly disappointed even on though I got it on sale. The mechanics and abilities are shallow, the dialogue and story is boring and cliche - there is a distinct lack of "soul" to this game. Didn't even finish it, couldn't be bothered. Save your money.

Sep 16, 2020Outer Worlds is set in a nightmarish, dystopian future where every quest is a fetch quest, and every enemy is exactly the same.
-
Sep 12, 2020Great game. It does basically everything better than Fallout 3, 4, and especially 76.

Sep 1, 2020I had almost lost hope that a company could make a compelling game in this day of micro-transactions but Obsidian does a AA game that has delivered so much more than the latest batch of AAA games.

Aug 17, 2020It doesn't do anything new but what it does is solid enough up to the end. If it was a little bigger and with a bit more variety it could be great, so maybe if it gets sequel one day.

Jul 26, 2020Every aspect of this game is botched. Once you get past the hype, there is nothing that this game offers. Combat is too easy, skills don't matter, the story is painfully boring, you can beat the main quest in literally a couple of hours if you wanted to ignore the rest, etc.
This is a genuinely bad game. All of its predecessors are better, including even Fallout 4, which was also bad. -
Jul 24, 2020Absolutely nothing on Fallout at all, incredibly basic and everything is OP.
-
Jul 23, 2020I thought I'd never feel like I used to when playing Fallout New Vegas or Mass Effect, but I did. The game is not perfect, nor it has a quality of other big AAA titles but we get a great single player story-oriented space RPG which we lack so much right now. Per aspera ad astra!

Jul 10, 2020This is Fallout New Vegas without bugs on launch (or at least I have not encountered any).
-
Jul 6, 2020I love RPG's, I love open-worlds (Or semi in this case), and I love Obsidian. I don't get why I don't like this game, It's all there, I couldn't even finish It because of how bored I was.

Jul 5, 2020Dull soulless world. Fills like plastic. Distracting humour - makes world looking like stage in some satiric play. Ugly characters.
-
Jul 4, 2020Well Paced Story driven RPG game. great graphics and atmospheric sound..
This game is NOT on rails. make you choices and play the way you want to.
Risque and humour give an adult feel to the game. Jokes are actually funny and lots of surprises. -
Jul 2, 2020way over hyped ended up being mediocre at best. The story is boring, barley any meaningful choices, gun physics are bad.

Jun 19, 2020Not bad RPG, good pumping, nice shooting, not bad teammates, normal quests, interesting weapons, well optimized, with good graphics, solid, but not enticing plot.
-
Jun 9, 2020RPG must have an interesting plot, characters, variability and desirable an interesting gameplay - The Outer Worlds fails.
Before buying, everything seemed so attractive, specially because it was supposed to be made by the same guys who created Fallout New Vegas, and with a similar structure, it sounded like nothing could fail. Well, lots of things did.
sjw trash game. -
Jun 6, 2020An interesting idea, gameplay, but a terrible and very short story, unfortunately 6.
-
Jun 3, 2020Very solid story and classic "fallout" RPG scheme - what should be even better?
-
May 29, 2020I disagree with the negative reviews. Money well spent. Thoroughly enjoyed to the game. It really put the hook in me. Art, textures, voice acting and dialogue all met or exceeded my expectations. Please continue developing this as a series.

May 25, 2020Very shallow RPG and a bad shooter, marketed with the original Fallout team to lure old school players in a boring corridor RPG filled with American leftist pandering.
Even modders don't care or try to save that garbage, this and the exclusivity deal the game got, it's probably the most insulting RPG scam from the last years and of course the gaming press is totally accomplice. -

May 14, 2020The game could have had great potential but unfortunately due to lack of money and tight deadlines we got a rather boring and mediocre game. The plot is very simple. "Choice without choice" - that's what I want to say about rpg component of the game and quests in the game.

Apr 24, 2020This was a game where I was genuinely sad when it ended. It has an amazingly in-depth narrative where the player's choices matter, likeable and relatable characters, and enough character customisation to keep any RPG fan happy.

Apr 21, 2020Посредственность в боевке, дизайне квестов, структуре мира. Хотелось бы чего-то свежего и оригинального. Лучше перепойти New Vegas.

Apr 16, 2020I feel sad and cheated.
Bad boring repetitive gunplay. Awful optimisation. Invisible walls. Boring perks (+20% this, +20% that). Bland 2D characters. Fetch quests. Generic story.
After trying to give this game a chance for about 10 hours of struggle, I gave up. It's a half-baked **** riding on a back of Fallout: New Vegas. If I could refund this, I would. -

Mar 28, 2020I got this game on a sale. I had high hopes for it and then I started playing. The story, mechanics and almost everything feels bland. I do not know if it is me or the game. I just did not like it. It was like they had a good marketing team. That is my opinion so please be careful when buying this game.
-
Mar 28, 2020I thorougly enjoyed the game.
There are some issues with side missions. You can't pick more than one, like in TES. And if you want to finish everything, you are forced to be frolicking around to many times to be enjoyable.
I'm really hoping for sequel... Maybe it's not best choice, but it's spacer's choice. -

Nov 16, 2020The problem with this isn't that it is a bad game (far from it), but the fact that it failed to reach its true potential… or maybe the expectations were simply too high, because there's nothing here that anyone can point to and say that it is terrible. Sadly, there's almost nothing that's great either, apart from the role-playing element and the quality of writing. The gunplay? Ok. The exploration? Decent. The plot? Fine. The dominant feeling here is of a game that is good enough so that you won't hate it, but also not as good for it to be the flawless classic that it could definitely be - but again, that's probably those darn high expectations speaking, because flaws or no flaws, The Outer Worlds shouldn't be missing from any RPG collection.
-
Dec 9, 2019An excellent effort from Obsidian, and though The Outer Worlds doesn’t surpass its predecessors by offering a world worth visiting over and over, the adventure it presents is more than worth the time spent.
-
Game World Navigator MagazineDec 6, 2019Usually, a planet has just one or two settlements and a bit of wildlands to explore. But that’s for the best – instead of exploring miles of filler content, Outer Worlds keeps you moving from planet to planet, from one tense situation to another. [Issue#241, p.34]
