From inventory nightmare to, go talk fast travel go talk, fast travel, same NPC, stealth doesn't even matter,I really tried to get in it but after 2 days of trying hard to enjoy the game but its a BORING experience and gameplay so I uninstalled, its just not what I hoped it would be, I'm glad I used only a game pass to try it.

The NPCs in the game were, regrettably, rather lackluster in their development, lacking the depth and immersion that I had hoped for. What's more, Starfield was plagued by a slew of glitches that seriously detracted from the overall gaming experience. These issues, unfortunately, overshadowed any potential enjoyment I might have derived from the game, making it a regrettable gaming experience. Wake up Phil! Expand

Starfield is the type of game that some people will love it other will hate it.
For me , where I dont like the open worlds very much, game is ok: NIce graphics, voice acting, story, very nice figting feeling, lore, crafting . Great filling of spece exploration. game has got meaningless bugs but comparing to GOWR on PC /ps5, TLOU on PS/ps5 , starfield is perfect game.

I dont know if it is a game of the decade but it is for sure something new from scratch and this year only BG3 can compete, but these are so different games that they should not run in the same race.

At the end game is very good but not for me. BG3, also I never liked BG serie. and now turn based - bleeee.
I encourage everyone to try Starfieldt on GP, on the PC or cloud if net is good enough.
Revies, goty is not important but the fun during the game.

I have to agree with the negative review-

    1) This is not space exploration - load screens everywhere, you can't land you ship 2) Poor plot - boring 3) Outdated graphics 4) UI/menus - poor, frustrating 5) so much more Avoid- for a few years. Perhaps they'll do a Cyberpunk 2077 and make it good, though as they used their very outdated engine, this is unlikely. Hope for Mods,

I played 5 hours the robot you get just broke and started floating on all maps the game had problems with my 3090 and just starts dying at some points and depending on the environment low graphics just break the game or Ultra breaks the game

I got screen shots of the bug to make some jokes and people pointed out that some npcs in the background are just T posing Shaders don't work

Shaders don't work correctly the AI does not exist I can make that AI by just googling basic game AI and It will give me a tutorial for a better more complicated AI then wath they have the space sections are basically a glorified loading screen with shiny bits

Learned that I need to cap the FPS the hard way still has 90% of the game broken

No map got wandered around for another shop because I I bankrupted the other vendors the most boarding map design ever in gaming it's all squares did interns make this map ? 1990s games had more details with just squares

The first city is basically the rich part of California (not from the US but still know it because they shove this scenery in every failing I want to be relevant game ) I am not gonna comment about the Writing because it's Bethesda I don't care

you need 250 mods to fix the game the mod plugin cap is 276 I believe you quite literally need to learn how to make plugins light or know what to merge to have any mod space

There is no compression it takes a large chunk of your PC with none of the content of no man's sky ,Elite dangerous , (insert any owl cat RPG), even some scams like star citizen have more things to do

The chocking and loading is because of the lack of compression and optimization no mater of graphic updates fixes that

Cyberpunk on launch looks better from this yeah guys on wheel chairs started walking but at least they reacted

Story is short 11 hours for the main campaign 9 more hours for all the side questlines then its just a ship/base builder sim with a very sluggish grind for planetary resources. Difficulty doesnt really matter since the AI is so terribly designed on very hard you can just nonchalantly walk up to any enemy and whack it to death. Honestly No Mans Sky was a better space exploration game when it first released and most of what they showed us was a lie. Playing this on Gamepass for 10 bucks is the only way i could recommend this game to someone. Expand

I would love to recommend this game. But a mix of the performance problems(Load screens). I have a high end PC and this game just doesn't function well. In the end the game offers little in inovation. Would recoommend skyrim over this. There is no open space. Everything is recycled and re-used.

I mean, just play No Man's Sky. Bethesda still feels like they're riding the high off of Oblivion in 2006 and actively refuse to improve the quality or fix the mistakes in their games since then. In fact, they've probably regressed. Packed to the brim with bugs, mildly gross and unappealing visuals at all times, boring normal gameplay, empty worlds. What a disappointment.

Bethesda manages to do worse at each game.
The best one was Morrowind and each new iteration is worse.

You feel lonely, your spaceship doesn’t matter, the quests are awful, the gameplay is awful, the PNJ are like zombies

I encountered very bad optimization. The graphics are terrible, and playing at 20 fps on low is terrible. I completed the same Baldur's Gate 3 at high 60+ fps on my system. Starfield is a terrible game in terms of optimization

A game from 2016 (No Mans Sky) does everything this game does but 20x better and withhout the millions of bugs and annoying invisible walls breaking your immersion. Imagine paying 100$+ for this crap.

Even if you are high on copium you cannot deny the fact that game is full of bugs and has significant optimization issues, so automatically it cannot be more that 8/10. But that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Cons: -story is bland and boring -facial animations, except lip sync are on Skyrim level -watered down exploration of big empty spaces -IMHO the worst character lvling system

-gun-play is inferior to games like Borderlands, or Destiny
-melee combat is worse than in Skyrim
-space combat is very basic and quickly gets repetitive
-crafting system and outpost building feels completely redundant, when you realize, that you can buy everything with credits anyway

    Pros:
    -object models(guns, items, collectables etc.)
    -landscapes can be impressive
    -ship designer

Do NOT buy for full price, maybe on game pass if you are really desperate for new game :).

This game attempts many things and accomplishes very few, and the early game is an appallingly slow burn, forcing you to play many hours before you start to realize the fun parts will never arrive. Ground combat is Fallout 4 but slightly less clunky. Space combat feels like a series of unwieldy boxes whirling around above a planet, about as fast paced and exciting as helping an old lady across the street. Any kind of space flight besides this is nonexistent, space exploration consists of loading screens and takeoff/landing cinematics. The other part of space exploration is running on foot thousands of meters across a fishbowl map on a generic planet or barren moon, to find the same copy/pasted outpost you discovered on the first moon you visited, with all the same items and npc's in the same exact places. Outpost building is an absolute joke. You would think it would be good, being the third iteration of Bethesda's building system, but in SPACE. It's not, it's 4 prefab structures, 2 landing pads (1 of which doesn't work) and a bunch of large stuff you have to build on the ground outside because there's no nice foundations to build and build on and they don't fit in the very generic premade hab shapes they give you. Followers are uninspired and forgettable and dialogue is limited to Good or Edgy. The only real effect of this dialogue is getting your boring pack animal companion to complain at you for not being enough of a Lawful Good Paladin type. The background and character building is vapid and thin, with my outlaw Professor being universally recognized for having briefly worked on a mining crew at the beginning of the game before getting railroaded into the main quest, or rather, the main series of identical fetch quests that lead you to the lazily written and plainly uninspired conclusion of the very forgettable main story. I paid a hundred bucks to get this in Early Access in spite of having Game Pass because I believed in the strength of the games Bethesda used to make, but the only memorable thing about this game is that I had to play well past the refund time to get the full scope of how bad this Triple-A blockbuster game turned out to be. I fear for the disaster that Elder Scrolls 6 is likely to be, and Bethesda has finally lost me entirely. After many games and thousands of cumulative hours, I won't day one or early access anything from them anymore because they can't be trusted. Expand

Boringfield. Loadfield. Menufield. This game is nothing that was promised. Todd Howard lies again. These planets are dull, lifeless and boring. NPCs are brainless zombies. AI is Redfall level bad. Shooting feels okay. Game takes way too long to become slightly fun. Worst Bethesda experience I’ve ever had and I’ve been playing since Morrowind. Don’t spend 70 dollars on this mess.

I fell in love with Starfield. It's my cup of sci-fi and I can't wait to spend the next thirty, fifty, maybe seventy hours here. I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. But I can't overlook the flaws. There are bad animations, ugly faces and repetitive moments.[Issue#329]

In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
