Despues de ver un juego con 25 años de desarrollo y finalmente jugarlo, lo unico que se me vino a la cabeza fue que seguramente lo mismo piensan mis padres de mi, 25 años y no cumple con ninguna promesa hecha. GOTY

Give Rockstar 8 years and you'll see a masterpiece, this looks like a botched copy of Mass Effect Andromeda that was already bad.
I played it for 4 hours and left it, it doesn't do anything right and it's one loading screen after another... I played it on an SSD with an rtx4080 and 32gb of DDR5 ram to have to download a DLSS mod because it doesn't go above 40fps .

A blatant scam, glad Steam has its own measures to protect customers from scams like Starfield.

State of game is barely an alpha, and it just looks like a fallout dlc in space with zero inovation, and **** of loadscreens... Todd spewing lies again is just a classic.

Starfield feels soulless and heartless. It lacks what made past Bethesda games so great: organic exploration. I went and especially got a gamepass subscription for it, waited for 120gb download and uninstalled the game in 4 hours of playtime.

The jank and clunkyness is so extreme. No FOV slider in 2023, the UI runs at 30fps, the shooting feels and sounds like a 2004 game, way too much fast travel, no ground vehicles, its a horrible experience.

BETHESDA IS INCAPABLE OF MAKING A NEXT GEN GAME.

As for RPG style, choices and graphics.... this is a 0 out of 10. Graphics (environment), NPC faces, animations, etc are absolutely last gen or worse. Think Xbox360 at worst and bad Xbox One at best. Textures on people, ships and building can look really good. Just don't expect the foliage or people to look that way. Don't get me started on the constant loading for everything you do.
Any choices you think you have, think again. NO choices affect anything. Your skill choices and your actual actions that you think may affect dialogues or quests NEVER affect anything. Don't believe me and want proof, search for the MarcoStyle youtuber, as he explains what is happening. I don't have a youtube channel or the time for that. Factor in the insane bugs, think Cyberpunk 2077 release, except we know that that game was released 2 yrs too early and Starfield was given almost an EXTRA year to polish this junk.
Overall, this game rates higher than a zero because they *could* fix the bugs and maybe improve textures and I really liked the ships, despite not being able to use them like I thought I would.

    STARFIELD: Black loading
Picture starry sky (still too bright).
It is suspected that the population explosion will cause the entire universe to be filled with humans, causing serious light pollution.

Space battles are redundant and boring.

loading loading more loading, especially when visiting stores and solving quests.

The main plot...well, that's the main plot of B company.

The UI and operation are extremely unfriendly to novices.
(Old players are fine, but new players eat poop? Are you justified?)
Also crammed a bunch of stuff into the skill that would improve the gameplay experience.

    The AI is unsurprisingly bad.
Whether it's combat logic or when shopping.
Hit wooden stakes, halfway through the battle, NPC weapons fly up, and start to flee wildly.
When you block an NPC , you will see the NPC just keep going on your face.
There is also the tragic teammate AI as always.

    ****

Can build, design spaceships (doesn't do much, but makes you feel good about yourself).
Players who were semi-finished guinea pigs in Fallout 4 can now play the finished product(?
    There is the task network.

With MOD, there is a chance to wait for player MOD to come out to save the world.
(It should be more comfortable to play after half a year and a year, and you can wait for a discount by the way)

    ****

Most of the people who will buy it immediately should be veteran players of B company.
Are waiting for Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.
Either it is a must-buy diehard old fan.
Or maybe I want to see what STARFIELD is like that B company has launched regardless of players’ voices.
(Maybe there are more space fans because Star Trek and Star War?)

"personal opinion" it seems... a low-end Fallout with space skin.
Elder Scrolls satisfies adventures in the wizarding world.
The background of the Fallout nuclear war is not far from us, which makes people have a deeper sense of substitution.
    STARFIELD'S SPACE SETTING...
Well, I don't know how many people look forward to adventures in space.
But I know STARFIELD's "space" adventures fail.
    Basically, it's loading,loading and loading.
Otherwise, it is floating in the starry sky with textures.
Bring out the speed and acceleration special effects to make you feel that the map is very big.
These "future" weapons aren't too futuristic either.

The game itself is of high quality and fun.
Old fans may be able to accept old IP doing like this. But the new IP personally feels that it is not up to the mark. There must be a bunch of new players who can't eat it. The most basic UI and operation are confusing. It even requires players to find a MOD to save them. It can only be said that newcomers to B company's games should be cautious. If you don't plan to play MOD. Spend dozens of hours installing two or three hundred MODs one by one to study the order and conflicts of MODs. Then what you are playing with others is not same game.

All the fading to black fast travelling feels terrible, although I understand why travelling has to be convenient. However, I feel like if there weren't so much emphasis on (and quantity of) side quests the actual journeys themselves would feel more epic. The side quests are not that far off from feeling like chores.

Some of the skill tree perks should be default at least the ability to actually do it like pickpocket, boosts, and lockpicking (which btw also feels terrible and the reward for unlocking storages and doors usually feel underwhelming).

For space battles I think it would've been better if the weapons systems were all lumped together instead of 3 separate ones. The dogfighting in general just does not feel as good as El1te D4ng3r0us although I have to commend Bethesda for being able to fight in space in third person. I can see Star C!tiz3n gaining some traction in the long term now because I know players will want to explore planets and have epic space battles with their friends in the cockpit with them.

The most disappointing thing for me personally is no native support for HOTAS setup (which I hope mods or a future update can provide). El1te just blows this game out of the water when it comes to controlling your ship, however, Starfield's shipbuilding and customization is extraordinary.

At times, you feel like you're going from one place to another in a linear fashion and the only thing separating you from each place is a loading screen. There is no immersion.

Performance is lousy on PC no matter how much Todd Howard says otherwise (it can be improved with mods). The AI of the enemy NPCs is non-existent, at times they act like punching bags. The rest of the NPCs sometimes appear and disappear in front of you without any explanation, their gestures are robotic, they don't react to the player's actions beyond you shooting them. The graphics would be spectacular in 2012, not 2023. In short, it is not what was promised by Bethesda, and this game is not worth the 80€ they are asking for it. In the future, when they fix the bugs and performance, and if there is some interesting mod, the game will be worth it to know the main story, but not for 80€.

If one game doesn't meet the standard of 3A games in 2023, it will be a nonsense to give a high score just because it's made by bethesda, especially when the company toss every problem it has to modders to fix it for free.
First it's a game, then it is a bethesda game.

The disappointment this game has given me, with the trailers I was expecting full planetary exploration like no mans sky, and what we got? a teleport from x planet to x planet, and if you're lucky there is something to do there. The good thing this game was supposed to have and is just a Menu.

Copy paste laziness, masquerading as something new when it’s nothing more than a single dense environment fractured into 100 lifeless boring (main)planets. Copy paste laziness, masquerading as something new when it’s nothing more than a single dense environment fractured into 100 lifeless boring (main)planets. What’s shocking after 40 hours of play is how empty everything feels. How is it possible that not a single planet in the universe has more than a central hub and 3 non centralized (pointless) locations. You run forever to discover a building with 2 people in it. The graphics are sub par for 2023 and poorly optimized. There’s no reason why a 13600k (20 threads, 5ghz turbo on 4) and a 4070ti should be struggling to maintain 60@4k and (worse yet) 120@1080p. Character models are all soulless drones with dead eyes. Color filter is unnecessary and removal is the top mod people download. The menus are terrible. You spend 1/3 of playing this game in the menu system or watching 6 second cut scenes of your ship moving. I’ve probably watched 2 hours of my ship taking off, landing, entering space, entering warp speed… so painful and no way to skip it. Besides the massive amount of time you’ll spend in the menus, they’re also poorly designed. The best description I heard was that they’re like a messy room. You know where stuff is but you can’t find it.

The most infuriating aspect for me is a lack of inventory item count when buying resources. I constantly over-buy or forget to buy items because of the arduous process of menu hopping to check. There are parts that are fun, but they’re spaced out(pun) and locked behind 5 min of pointless dialogue followed by menu hopping and glorious cutscenes of your ship… lol. If another game I’m anticipating came out right now, I would drop this like a hot potato. I would also struggle to recommend it to anybody as the “you just need to get past the first 10 hours for it to get good” caveat, in an elevator pitch is too big a hurdle. This game is simply, “ok”. It’s good moments are often overshadowed by the frustrating aspects. You will groan a handful of times per gaming session.

nice game,a lot of content and dialogue, and the graphic is awesome.
BUT, these things are all in a mess.
i'm using a RTX4090 PC but the gameplay is not OK, drop frame and low frame(under 80) keep me away from exploring further in second run. i will no longer complain about the loadings, but it also has TOO MANY BUGS.
I will give 0 until it fix all these issues.

Alright. I made a Metacritic account just to review this game. I want to start off by saying that I am playing on PC. I am using a 3060ti and a Ryzen 5 5600. Thats a fairly moderate combination, handles almost anything at high settings, 1080p or 1440p 60fps+. With that out of the way, this game is horribly optimized for PC. With that out of the way, this game is horribly optimized for PC. The performance is less than stellar, to say the least. There's some really strange choices made, like the fact that the game doesn't support exclusive full-screen or DLSS natively. Also, this game has crashed on me countless times. Visually the settings are pretty solid but there's not really that "woah..." moment you get like when you leave the prison in Oblivion. Texture work is good. Lighting and shadows are just fine. Overall the game feels far too graphically basic to be as demanding as it is. The character creation is fine. You can't make any super dumb, silly, jenky, oblong, green-skinned, freaks like you can in most other Bethesda games. That's a disservice to the experience in my opinion. Making those crazy created characters are part of the Bethesda charm and there really isn't much of that charm in Starfield.

Starfield is simply not fun. I don't find the world or story interesting. NPCs feel lifeless and add nothing of substance to the game. In Skyrim and Oblivion, most NPCs are named individuals that go to work and have conversations with each other and often drop little hints of stuff you can go do in the game. In Starfield, there's countless times where I'd press E to speak to an NPC and they'd say "I'm sorry I'm busy". They're all nameless and so obviously lifeless NPCs and it's so uninteresting. When playing this game, I wish I was playing other games. I think about how I could be playing Oblivion or Skyrim or Fallout New Vegas, games with worlds that feel *real* and detailed. I think about how I'm also playing through one of the best RPGs I've ever played, Baldur's Gate 3. I often want to close my game and play that instead. Traversing this game is uninteresting.
The idea that nearly all traversal is done through menus is absolutely unbelievable. They touted these giant worlds and this sprawling universe, but they all feel so disconnected? I so badly wanted to fly from one planet to another and actually land directly on that planets surface without having to go into a menu to do so. This is not an open world game. It has cities and strongholds that sit in their own little area and you have to use a menu to go to them, you can't walk from a city to an outpost. When you land in an area, that isn't a huge city, there's a small circle in which you can explore, after that it locks you into that small area. Want to explore more of the planet you're on? Go into a menu and land somewhere else on the planet. Flying in space is actually kind of fun, it's unfortunate that you can't really do much with it, it doesn't get you anywhere.

Speaking of flying in space, the ship combat is kind of enjoyable, I don't completely hate it or anything. It's just that it gets boring and repetitive after the first few times you do it, it makes you not really want to do it anymore. Gun combat isn't awful either! I enjoy the gun combat! It feels good, it feels better than any Bethesda-developed game with guns. Comparing the combat in this game to Fallout 76, for example, the combat here is definitely more enjoyable. It's a shame that the early game enemies aren't cool by any means. It's all weird alien bug creatures and space-pirates.

The one time in this game where I actually got excited and happy is when I was walking in New Atlantis and the adoring fan appeared! It was actually nice to see the little guy again, as annoying as he can be. The voice acting in this game is really good, the performances are great. The actors did a great job!

    Final thoughts:
Starfield is bland and uninteresting and doesn't live up to the hype. I have un-installed it and will not be finishing it any time soon. I am doubtful that they will release any super meaningful updates, but if they do, maybe I'll check it out. If Cyberpunk got "fixed" maybe this game can too. If you want a good Bethesda game, play one of the classics we all know and love again. If you want a new sprawling RPG that is fun and let's you explore and do almost anything you want, play Baldur's Gate 3. If you want a good space game play No Man's Sky. I would be severely upset and would be filing for a refund if I paid the full-price of $69.99 USD for this release. Thankfully I only paid 16 dolars due to its Gamepass day-one integration. Would not recommend.

    - Performance is absolutely horrendous. I have an rtx 3080ti, by no means a weak card. The rest of my system is comparable in quality and with this game I just had the worst performance ever. With Cyberpunk I could somehow understand but with a game that looks like it could have been released in 2015 I just can't comprehend. Game looks way too bad to have these heavy requirements. Not everyone has a RTX 4090 in their rig and it should have been way more optimised.

-Next, the characters. Characters in Starfield are extremely bland. The first one you meet is boring and doesn't really bring anything extra to the game. -Gameplay is pretty average in this game. It is nothing special and there are plenty of games that do it better. It's funny that this aspect of Starfield is its most redeeming feature in my opinion. It was the only thing that didn't bother me that much.

-Story. As far I played story is very weak. Nonexistent even. It is uninspiring and just boring. So even with this many reviews telling Bethesda to step up their game I'm pretty sure they will not bother.

    - ogólna grafika to poziom gier z początku poprzedniej generacji - bardzo ubogie cieniowanie, tekstury powierzchni kują w oczy, a twarze, mimika i modele postaci to chyba pamiętają czasy x360.

Excited to play with their "least bugged BGS game" i went in expecting to not find many. I sadly enough found a lot, it took me an entire 10 minutes to encounter my first bug whilst switching weapons. A whooping 5 minutes later i found the second one when opening mannequin and my entire screen turned black. This was an amazing beginning towards the least bugged BGS game. Which only became worse as I progressed with the story. I'm glad that they kept in the essentials, your followers just seem to lose you 24/7 like they did in Skyrim, which gladdens my heart, anyway. Upon reaching New Atlantis I suffered the worst drops in FPS, with a 4080 and 13900K you wouldn't expect it, but on 1440k ultra I maxxed out on around 50 FPS and I caved, i started to install the DLSS mod and the better optimization mod this improved my FPS by around 30. After about 3 hours I got extremely tired by using the menu, the bloated feeling and the game taking longer than i've hoped to get out of the menu was unexpected from a game in 2023, so added more mods. The StarUI mod made the inventory way better. You'd think after 4 games BGS would appear to have some knowledge of the type of menu/inventory players want, just check the mod page, FallUI and SkyUI are among the highest ranked. Yet they appear to have failed to implement a decent inventory for 4 games straight. Anyway it was time for more bugs, so after trying to complete the Heart of Mars quest, the quest was broken. The stone spawns under a rock and you can't mine it. So aside from the glaring technical issues, that they had +7 years to fix, the bugs weren't "the least" in any way. I haven't played Skyrim nor Fallout 4/Fallout 3 on release, so if they say these are the least amount of bugs. I'm quite appalled how bad it those were. I kinda gave up on this game, i'm sure the game will be fixed by the modders, like every BGS game does and still theyre asking top price for it. But at this point the game is quite unplayable for me and is breaking my immersion with every planet i reach. Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk.

After seeing a lot of people giving this game a 10/10 despite the amount of bugs and technical issue only the shove it on the "review bombing" from angry playstation fans. I lowered my score from a mediocre 4/10 to a 2/10. Just to shove it to those BGS stans.

This is just a failure of the year. The game constantly freezes and crashes. The game is badly optimized. The color filters in the game are poorly chosen. The graphics are also soapy in places. Instead of an open world, we have a loading screen simulator.

One more game that does not survive the enormous hype with which has been promote it. As a sci-fi fan it has left me totally disappointed. Story without soul, repetitive missions, mediocre game play, empty and lifeless worlds, a huge amount of bugs and horrendous graphics that is unreal how the people justify with the premise that mods will fix it. Not recommendable

There's just no way. For a game in 2023, this is absolutely terrible. Boring quests. Poor space travel. A bunch of bugs on 4080. And they ask for $100 for it.
Empty autogenerated locations. The most inconvenient interface. Looks like a craft from a graduate of programming courses, which he assembled on free models.
I forgot to note that the Russian language was removed from the game,

I forgot to note that the Russian language was removed from the game, but not only Russians but also half of the CIS countries speak this language, instead of politics, it would be better to throw out their old as the world engine that throws characters for a kilometer, it is a miserable collision

By the way, if you want to see who BETHETHDA paid for the review, look who gave the highest score and never read articles from this publication again

Expand

Love a lot of the previous Bethesda games, but this one lost me early on. Graphics, especially concerning characters was outdated, but worst of all it's just plain boring. Game got me bored after 2h... Quests are boring and repetitive (bring me that, press that button, speak to him/her and come back to me). The dialogues and characters are shallow, without flair. I am glad I did not pay full price for it and it came with game pass. Truly a missed opportunity for something amazing.

This game's "open world" (if you can even call it that) is a total downgrade compared to those from the previous BGS titles. It is merely a list of dungeons and other locations separated by long and frequent loading screens. The most expensive Xbox 360 game you will play in 2023! Empty, AI-generated worlds with no soul. Absurdly dumb and repetitive enemies. Useless customization (your ship is the most customizable loading screen ever made, you flick it to see it land in the loading screens and that's it). The WHOLE campaign is presented to you in static dialogues and poorly acted by NPCs that spoil the entire game experience, there is not ONE cutscene. The game is not intuitive and doesn't even try to be (there is no map of anything in the cities or on the planets, you just don't get completely lost in the main missions that are marked on the screen, besides, buy a little pad and draw in your hand where the things). Immersion spoiled by infinite loading black screens that cut the game at all times (and you can put it on the NVME M2 which is no use, there will be loading cutting the game in everything you do). Ridiculous performance on 20k PCs on any video card and processor, not justifying frame drops and bugs at all (on consoles I won't even comment, the worst port). Exploration of planets in MENUS, because there is no content inside them, in fact, the game is not even an open world, it only carries one of the three possible areas to play with invisible walls, empty places and with many other problems and there is ANY reason to if you go back to any planet again, just ONE time there for 3 minutes and you have NOTHING to do there anymore. I played 5 hours on PC and gave up, no way. Another unfulfilled advertisement for another game made on thighs. Everything the game does, it does so mediocre and uninspired. Mass Effect destroys it in the narrative, shooting gameplay and characters, just as No Mans Sky swallows it in exploration and world generation, there is no way to pass the cloth for that and I will not pretend to think the game is good, because M$ does not Pay me nothing to be her lawyer. Ridiculous, yet another flop sold as "revolutionary"....BOTTOM LINE: Starfield tries to take a little bit of every space game that has ever been made, but pulls it all together with no inspiration, and does so largely in a mediocre, empty, and pointless way. soul. It's not Skyrim, it's not Fallout, it's not Mass Effect, it's not No Mans Sky, Starfield seems just a generic game inspired by these others and advertised as an A trill, failing in its unreached grandeur! Well if you spected No Man Sky 2 this it's not your game. If you wanted a fluid game without loading times escenes in each time you reach a planet city house door. This is not your game. If you don't like mechanics of Bethesda that is on Fallout . Neither. It's a game specifically for gamers who like space issues but not offering that Sci fi like interstellar. For all of that makes that game bad.

If it weren't a Bethesda game, it would be the biggest disappointment of the year, but people are judging it in comparison to the company and Skyrim.

The optimization is tragic; I've never seen a game perform so poorly. Sometimes I get 10 fps, sometimes 40, it's random. It doesn't matter whether it's in the city or the wilderness.

    Loading screens are everywhere:

Enter a building / loading screen
Board a ship / loading screen
Change floors in a building or ship / loading screen
Travel to another planet / 3 loading screens
There's no space exploration; discovering other planets and star systems involves teleporting by clicking the 'x' button and watching a loading screen. The space itself is only used for short battles.

The AI of enemies is terrible, and the combat isn't challenging. The Witcher 2, which came out in 2011, has better facial animations and character looks and costs only 2 euros.

I won't even get into the list of bugs and glitches, texture loading issues, etc.

I fell in love with Starfield. It's my cup of sci-fi and I can't wait to spend the next thirty, fifty, maybe seventy hours here. I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. But I can't overlook the flaws. There are bad animations, ugly faces and repetitive moments.[Issue#329]

In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
