    The graphics and details are amazing
    but thats about it... this feels 1/4 of a game and probably the worst battefront out of the three, this game is basically a shiny turd.... disney star wars is garbage and disney will push out crap like this for years

    Was expecting a good game after all that hype, but really its just reskinned BF with overpaid DLC, gameplay offers completely anything new, no single player mode, no coop modes, nothing interesting at all, it maybe fun for few hours, but thats all, it maybe worth it 5$ during sale, but thats all it its worth it.

    4 maps, 11 weapons, no story mode, 60 bucks. First EA ruins UFC and then they ruin Star Wars....$60 for 10 hours of fun... Exactly as expected. Hopefully EA listens to the fans next time.

    It's abysmal. Sure, the graphics and sound design are pretty, but the game reeks of EA's corporate greed and obvious contempt for paying customers. Here are some things that were in Star Wars Battlefront 2, a game that is a decade old, that are not in this game: Space battles, a singleplayer campaign, anything from episodes 1-3, balanced spawns, and an actual chance to use the heroes. AndIt's abysmal. Sure, the graphics and sound design are pretty, but the game reeks of EA's corporate greed and obvious contempt for paying customers. It's an insult to gamer community intelligence. Equipment is now abilities with cooldown, you don't enter vehicles but rather find a magical token that transports you to them, weapons don't need to be reloaded, you don't pickThey've done it, they have actually done it.     dont buy this crap. No singleplayer, endless dlc money grabs. All the time spend on it is wasted as this is basically a battlefield for toddlers. Does not need any skill and servers will be empty within a month. Playing this game is watching a very expensive B movie.

    How to describe Battlefront:
    - Grenade spam (worse than any other game)
    - Bad team balance
    - Awful spawn points
    - Good graphics (that's probably the only positive aspect everyone can agree on)

    Waste of money and time.

But, the full game... Unbalanced, pathetic trash. Oh yeah, and the DLC is overpriced.

    The "powerup" system is terribad- You only get to play as the heroes or vehicles if you're lucky enough to run into a power. They aren't rewards for good play or little pick-me-ups if you're doing bad, you can actually get to play as Boba Fett 4 times in a row and hog up the powerups. If your team has a hero active, no more hero powerups will spawn until that hero dies. Same goes for AT-AT and AT-ST vehicles. It's genuinely stupid, and led to me getting to play as a hero once every 3 games or so.

    The gunplay is the worst part of them all. If you're fighting anyone anywhere except close range, gunfights always come down to RNG. See, you don't control where your shots land. Just their general direction. If you're like me and your luck is awful, your shots WILL always miss. Skill is completely unimportant. Explosives are far too common and far too powerful. For example, ATSTs are useless because of the sheer amount of rockets available to people that take down ATSTs in 2-3 shots.

    The game is VERY unbalanced. It isn't like, say, the upcoming (and good-looking) game known as Overwatch, where you'll have access to every character and every feature right off the bat. You're stuck with no abilities and crappy guns, and almost always matched against maxed-out characters with fancy gadgets. Not just that, but the heroes themselves are unbalanced. Boba Fett is beyond overpowered, for example. His blaster does a ton of damage, and can dispatch a normal enemy in one burst provided you get a single headshot. His rocket is an instant kill, and you don't know it's coming until it hits you. There's no warning. His jetpack also has a ton of fuel, meaning jedis simply can't hit him. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Princess is weak as hell. She is the support hero, similar to Palpatine. Except, she can't stunlock infantry or kill multiple enemies at once. She gets a crappy blaster, a crappy shield and a decent ability.

    Finally, you don't get much content. A lot of the blasters feel similar, there are only 6 heroes (2 of which per playstyle, and two of which that are actually decent at combat [Han Solo and Boba Fett]) and a handful of maps.

    Number ratings since people can't always discern from my simple words:
    Graphics: 9. My computer isn't the best so I have to run it on low, but it's still good looking.
    Sound: 10.
    Gameplay: 0. Watered down Battlefield clone that's heavily RNG based.
    Replay value: -4. Every match is extremely similar.
    Loading screens: Bad/10.

    In short, I'm completely disgusted by how bad this game was. As a veteran of Battlefront 2, I think EA should've handed the game down to a better developer. The sound and visuals are beautiful, don't get me wrong, but the game itself is terrible. It feels like Battlefield 3, but inferior in every way. I'm thanking Jesus that Origin let me get a refund. Do not touch this game, period. You WILL be disappointed. I genuinely have no clue how people could like this game at all.
    Here's some cursing to vent my frustration: Battlefront is a **** **** godawful putrid excuse for a game. I hope the developers go to dev school to learn how to make a god damn game. The ****    … Expand

    This is a great game if you want to feel like being in a Star Wars movie (only one of the original movies because apparently everyone's in denial). It looks amazing, sound is amazing....and that's it.
    If you're looking for a game, this isn't it. Gets boring after a few min. I bought this on sale and I still can't see the value in paying $10 for this game apart from the Star Wars royalties.

    One of the most blatant, money grabbing dlc scandals of the next generation. I have to WAIT to PAY for more of the game in expensive upcoming DLC expansions. I hope EA is regreting this scam. I also hope you people are regretting buying this, because you have been wronged.

    Absolute lack of content for 60€, DLC's confirmed with the same amount of content, so it's a "DLC" for 60€. EA game = Origin DRM = sh.it.
    Conclusion: buy the definitive edition on the folowing gen for 20€.

    To summarize, it is a star wars themed battlefield, but more predictable and linear. Gets boring after... a day. For me at least. Simple as that.

    Plus points - Graphics are great. Sound is also great when the 'no sound' bug doesn't flare up.

    Very bad dlc selling platform. If you want to win you need dlc, want to win people with dlc? get never dlc. p2w game sold for 60$ and has a 50$ p2w pass. As it has no singleplayer it's unplayable without dlc.

I am a die hard star wars fan, I am a die hard battlefield and old battlefront fan but this.... its so casualized to its roots you get bored of this game after few hours. Into the trash it goes.     I really wanted this game to work. I paid for the Ultimate addition. I was stoked. I have given it a good play through as well. My main problem are the server set ups.

    You cant just go look for servers on your own. It searches for you. And it takes a F@%$ long time. And then when you do get in there the teams are not balanced. 20 on one side and 10 on the other. Not an option to change    I really wanted this game to work. I paid for the Ultimate addition.     Gameplay is horrific. I feel embarrassed for buying this game and I am VERY thankful I did not buy the expansion pack. That's some money I'm happy I have saved.

    To be honest I didn't thought they could **** up such a good licence that hard, but DICE somehow made it. While the graphics and sound are good, the gameplay is terrible and it feels like the worst casual shooter you can imagine. There is no depth and only four maps but hey you can pay another 50 bucks for DLC **** **** you EA, **** you DICE.

    I got this game day one the graphics are amazing and i was expecting some intense star wars armosphere like JK2 or Kotor
    But i am very dissapointed with what ea offers me here.

    -ps plus req(otherwise its just a CD)
    -no singleplayer campaign
    -repetetive gameplay
    -Dlc! Wtf!? So expensive

    +sold the game 3 days later and bought fallout 4

    This game's marketing budget was much, much higher than its development budget and it shows. It's not a Battlefront game, more like a Battlefield DLC to cash in on the Star Wars 7 hype. It's very clear from the extreme lack of content that EA spent more time paying people off to advertise the game than DICE spent on actually developing it.     the game is full of cheaters, aimbots and hackers ( dice say that is a glitch? my bottom!) the fairfight engine work well as the game: a total crap ( 1 ban every 100 cheaters) no single play story, so no chances to play alone    unfortunately i buy the box so no refunds.

It appears that only Indie developers are creating games without pay2win microtransactions. Now the big game companies are even implementing microtransactions in buy-to-play and singleplayer games...

    Look great but the new changes since the beta designed to improve gameplay have left it more unbalanced than ever. Maps are horrible and character/camouflage means there's always one side with a huge advantage regardless of the map you play.     The lack of a campaign mode and COOP vs AI on all maps is a disappointment to me. I had bought 2 copies and promptly got a refund today. If you want BF4 with no story mode and only multiplayer only maps then this game might interest you, but to me Star Wars is always about the story.

Immediately refunded my money, worst 32 gbs of crap i ever had on my HDD. We should sue them for how they raped SW battlefront - it has nothing to do with the Games before (which i personally loved - had over 5k hours on sw bf2 on ps2)

I was waiting on this game ever since BF 2, as a child. If you want to earn my money and me as a customer, make a full campaign with story driven conquest batles like before. Also, i forgot to mention that maps are literally tiny and disconnected, it's nothing like the old games. An example would be using battlefield, imagine if battlefield were taken and the maps were cut down by 75% compared to the old ones you played. Do not Buy, last warning. If you don't believe me, try it yourself, hopefully you enjoy it, however i doubt anyone true will enjoy it..

    No for the real review. This will mostly be elaborating on the points above. To start with the game looks and sounds stunning but that cannot save the CORE GAME FROM BEING LESS THAN AVERAGE. Unfortunately the game itself is far less than average. There are many reasons for this a few are listed above. To start with the problems of this game the shooting mechanics are THE worst I have played with this year. This is due to all weapons having little to no recoil at all (And I am well aware that the guns shoot lasers not bullets) but even with the guns shooting lasers Fallout 4 and halo 5 manage to make laser weapons very satisfying to shoot and also require skill to shoot. The guns also lack punch and also eliminate impact because of it. This makes it feel like a weak spit ball killed the enemy not a futuristic laser weapon form STAR WARS.

    While on the topic of game mechanics the vehicles feel like sliding an ice cube over a bathroom tile. In short the vehicles feel terrible at best. This is also true for air vehicles. They are tedious to control and just a pain to find some meaningless coin on the map that FORCES you to deploy a vehicle at what possibly could be an inopportune time if you want to use one. That brings me to my next point the "pick up" system in the game makes you run around the map scavenging for one of these god forsaken things only for you to be killed while your deploying one.

    The next considerable problem is campers and Oh boy there are a LOT of them in this game. Not only do campers make the game un-fun but also hurts the player base potentially turning some people of the game completely. Another issue to consider is the games life span (I'm predicting not very long). The game lacks variety and only has a hand full of "fun" modes. This will most likely lead to a considerable portion of the player base drop in less than a month. To be completely frank I think peoples hype will ware off and people will see what a lazy cash in excuse of a AAA game this is. Unfortunately this is just a lazy attempt by DICE (who are also to blame) and EA just a SAME FULL DISPLAY. The only modifiers to the guns effectiveness is reduced damage at range, to the point where if you want to to long or even medium range shooting you have to use the sniper cards. At close range most guns will kill in a few hits, at longer ranges head shots will do around 10% HP.

    I don't know why this is.

    The other main issue I have with it is the random spawns. This game is called Battlefront, but there is no actual battle front if you know what I mean. You can clear an area only to have the enemy team randomly spawn behind you and the whole thing ends up feeling very spy-vs-spy.

    I really hate the direction they chose with picking up powerups off the ground. The vehicle controls are abhorrent. Strangely it seems like the targetting reticle is not actually zero'd at certain angles/ranges for nearly every vehicle. In turrets, the AT-ST, or AT-AT I would sometimes have to put the reticle well above an enemy's model to actually hit them close up or at some angles.

    I am generally pretty above average at the games I play, and my Origin profile gave me a 3.24 KDR on Battlefront before I refunded, but the game still felt very much like a spawn-and-die affair. Even with the quickly regenerating health, your shelf-life as a trooper seems like it's always going to be pretty damn short. It just feels like a McDonalds kind of gaming experience. There just doesn't seem like a lot of room for tactics and strategy, like the game was designed to keep the skill ceiling low to the floor.

    I think it's fine to appeal to casuals but I believe every successful MP game needs to be competitive to have any longevity. Why couldn't we have the current battlefront in a casual mode and then a hardcore mode with more in-depth mechanics to appeal to the competitive crowd? It's not for lack of interest, the most popular games are always competitive and e-sport like. Even if you don't like competitive MP you can't deny that.

    Even with its current simplified mechanics, if vehicles spawned on the ground, powerups removed, classes introduced into the game and the spawn system completely revamped to eliminate the spy-vs-spy spawning, supremacy and walker assault would be far superior.

    The other modes are extremely lacking though. Most of them are way too similar to offer any real value. Heroes vs Villains could have been cool, but in my opinion why is half the team made up of essentially fodder for the heroes? It's like playing that mode you have to take turns on having fun at all. You can't just play a hero. A whole new meta game could have came out of this mode but it the effort was a pretty big fumble. There is a lot of potential to make the heros have a lot of depth and a hero vs villains mode being very fun to play, perhaps even something along the lines of a MOBA, but it falls really short. The saber mechanics are pitiful and pretty much just end in one saber hero trying to stun-lock the other through spamming. The gunning heros are far better though and Boba Fett is really fun to play. Dice could have really expanded on this but again missed the boat.

    So to sum it up, this game should have been designed both around the competitive multiplayer and casual crowd instead of just a theme-park Star Wars shooter that gets old in a few hours. This game is salvagable in my opinion with a large patch that could revamp the controls, spawns, vehicles, weapon attributes, etc - but we all know that will never happen.

    So what we're left with is a lot of really pretty Star Wars assets that will probably end up in another game at some point. Maybe then us detractors will get something we want to play.

    This game is one giant missed opportunity. Dice threw in some pretty graphics, skinner box mechanics, and a little social engineering in the hopes of crafting EA a new money tree with the Star Wars name. That's all this is.    … Expand

They seem to have literally picked the worst mechanics they could find, slapped on a couple Star Wars skins and made one map which switches from snow to rocks and called it a day. Most disappointing game of the year for sure, quite possibly of my life.

If you're outnumbered in the air don't bother flying. ATAT broken, I will easily get 20 kills everytime I'm in it. Being spawn killed is great. Map collision and jumping around feels so stiff. The maps don't allow for long range play, or really short range play. So you're stuck having to constantly try and watch your 360 to see what is happening. There isn't any features that pop out like wow. You get some awful abilities and the choice or a few guns...

    Worst DICE game ever! you just cant lay down on the ground, cant take cover on third person view, just a few blasters with ZERO customization, all i wanted was a StarWars Battlefield, they already have the formula to make a perfect game, i just dont know what happend. Can't roll with the starship, controls SUCKS on the entire game.

    Payed for the Ultimate edition when it first came out. Played the BETA and noticed a lot of hack and exploits being utilized by a handful of players. Natually I thought these would be fixed before launch, especially since numerous people were stating these infractions on the public feedback forms. I also have an alienware alpha I take when I travel for work that has an Nvidia card in it. Both of them have terrible lag and full screen flickering even with the settings adjusted to medium or low.     -Maps incentives camping, almost 70% of your deads are some guy camping behind a piece of metal or tree. Or just apears behind you because the map have no structure of a large team gameplay ( thats maybe i like too much conquest large games...like BF4).
    -Insanely unbalance teams and respawn.
    -Cero team gameplay, no conquest game...just entirely **** tipe of games. Dont expect gameplay as bf 1 or 2. this is totaly diferent broken gameplay that just work with kids who like an easy, no skill aiming game.
    -Guys who pre ordered or have deluxe edition have a OP pistol ( DL-44) and that is one of the most powerfull guns...and they gave you free for these too purchase...so is basicaly a PAY-TO-WIN.

    I have been following this game since it was announced. Glad I read the reviews on this release before I bought it though. Was really hoping for a long single player campaign. Not everyone enjoys the run of the mill "run and gun" games. Would much rather play kick the can than buy this.

    I really looked forward to play this game I remember playing previous games and they were good. However there wasnt even any kind of story or any misssions. It was sad because I really looked forward to have chance of playing but I got really upset because I think this game was really bad.

It's now loadouts only. Combining the loadouts with the HORRIBLE spawns, the game is as casual as Call of Duty. But Call of Duty has some replay value, it has zombie mode, which is a heck of a lot of fun. This game has nothing other than an overpriced 50 dollar season pass, and the smallest playerbase i have seen in a while. Instead of the vehicles spawning, they now have this pickup system, which promotes camping and waiting around. Nice job. Also, they seem to want to give amateur players a chance, making this game lame for hardcore gamers. AVOID AT ALL COST. REFUND IF YOU FELL FOR THE TRAP!… Expand

    No server browser, so you can't make your own games or look for specific ones being hosted. Game auto drops you into a server based on the game type you choose.     Star Wars Battlefront looks and sounds great, and with Battlefield-class gameplay could have ruled the multiplayer galaxy. Unfortunately, at best OK-level, Battlefront-class gameplay is much too shallow to last long. And this is THE one license, which really needs a single player campaign. [Dec 2015]
