    I will start by saying this. I've played fallout since Fallout 3. Ever since I played Fallout NV I have always wanted an online fallout. When i first heard about Fallout 76 I was ecstatic. But the fear I had when the first day of beta came around, and the launcher didn't work what-so-ever, is unmatched. i should've listened to my gut. Anyone who tried to launch had an approx. 70 gig gameI will start by saying this. I've played fallout since Fallout 3. Ever since I played Fallout NV I have always wanted an online fallout. When i first heard about Fallout 76 I was ecstatic. But the fear I had when the first day of beta came around, and the launcher didn't work what-so-ever, is unmatched. i should've listened to my gut. Anyone who tried to launch had an approx. 70 gig game wiped completely off their PC. But this is a review so i wont just talk about the pre-launch.
    For the game itself, I'll make a true list of pro and con

    +Fallout (kinda)
    +Dream of multiplayer came true
    +There are some cool addition in guns and enemies
    +The LOCATION of the game makes it beautiful

    -It is literally a combination of Skyrim / Fallout 4 (look up the coding on the Scorch Beasts.. and Falllout 4 references in the files)
    -The survival is just annoying. food and drink run out stupidly fast even with perks and disease is so common
    -No human npcs and the robots they have are all the same robots from previous games with not many changes to even voices
    -The bugs... dont even get me started. i can make a 5K character review just on that. And i dont want to hear that "new games have bugs" because this garbage is like Fear Factor for gamers.
    -Uses the same old engine they had for ages. (that sucked to begin with)
    -The player interaction is dull, either someone hits you for 10 minutes and breaks all of their weapons (just for you to stimpack for all the hp) or they're babbling and mouth breathing like a mongoloid into the microphone not knowing they are even in voice chat. When they find out they join 90% of players who have turned it off
    -The upgrades and crafting is too much grinding for the little reward it yields.
    -THE STASH LIMIT (i filled my stash limit (with only useful materials, not even weapons) within hours.
    -The constant radio-silence from Bethesda because they know they lied through their teeth the whole time
    -Building is trash.. (enough turrets to defend your base leaves you with a little amount left over to actually personalize while no turrets allows your base to get steam-rolled by enemies. Plus my build limit has been glitched at full with nothing built for 6 days)
    -Lighting / god rays are nauseating and shadow effects are based on your characters orientation to the object.
    -Everything is tied to FPS (reload speed, run speed, etc.) and their solution was to cap the fps at 63 because they "couldn't do anything about it."
    -Support staff blame the games instability on your pc hardware or give you a copy/paste blanket response to justify.
    -End game leaves nothing to do. I killed the Scorchbeast Queen at level 50 and it dropped mediocre loot. I am now level 93 and the items level caps at 50 even though i fight enemies around my level (little guns, big enemies). Making the grind harder and harder for literally 0 reward.
    -Factions are useless. I've done just about all the factions' entire quest lines (about 20min to complete) and all I've gotten was stupid costumes and access to vendors with sub par gear.
    -Boring. There's a big world with nothing to do except mindlessly kill stuff and do gather missions that yield, yet again, useless gear.

    I doubt anyone will even read this far so i feel i'm wasting my time. In conclusion, I could go on for days, but Bethesda's EA level deceit and laziness has shattered my love and trust for the only company in gaming that i still respected. BIGGER let down and over hype than No Man's Sky. Don't understand why this took YEARS to develop this AIDS vector when it was a copy and paste job, but I do understand why i will never buy another Bethesda game, period.    … Expand

It is not just how terrible fallout 76 is, it's Bethesda's **** attitude is making me wanna puke, tossing this bearly completed broken game out for $60 hoping all the fans will just pay for it and pretend to be happy because it is a Bethesda game. Bethesda is so unbelievably spoiled by the community, thinking fans will forgive them for anythingI made this account just to do this review.     I created this Metacritic account, just to give this game a 0/10. I have never even played the game. That's how bad it is. Anyone who disagrees, is just butthurt that Bethesda won't give them their money back. Garbage. Absolute garbage. I have made it my mission to find EVERY user review source possible, and give this game a 0. Congrats Bethesda.

    Fun at first, but so many broken elements to the game kills it for me. High-level areas have bullet sponge enemies that can take an armor penetrating round to the head (no armor) without dying. So many things broken in this game, I don't know where to start. Worst insult to this franchise I've ever seen. Save your money and get Fallout 3, New Vegas, or even Fallout 4. Fallout 1 was very good, Fallout 2 was a masterpiece, Fallout 3 was something fresh and even with all its problems was generally a good atmospheric and what is more important FALLOUT game. Fallout New Vegas made the whole 3D universe of Fallout great again. Fallout 4 wasnt that good, but stil it was Fallout, with its atmosphere. But Fallout 76 is notI am a big fan of Fallout series.     and ..I think EA, Activision Blizzard and Bathesda should merge into one big corp. at this point. they are all the same

    JUNK! First of all cannot get on the game because of server problems. It has taken me up to a half an hour just to get started. Just as you get in your grove or in a spot where you are about to complete a challenge, yeah you will get kick and have to start that mission all over!     Piss poor game. Limits my freedom of speech to a high degree, and I am always feeling like I'm under the watchful eye of big brother Bethesda. If you guys wanted to make an open world simulator, please do it right and actually allow people to play the game as they intend, lest you want to end up bankrupting your company.

    This game was rushed to be sent out, this is extremely evident. The entire game is Fallout 4 with micro-transactions. I thought that I was having a decent time playing the game, but after taking a step back and evaluating what I was actually enjoying I realized that I was enjoying all of the features literally copy and pasted from Fallout 4.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the games story mode suck i mean like there is not a story at all so many bugs in the game there pvp sucks you can not kill someone unless they hit you theres no real end game at the end of all of that theres nothing really there to keep you playing this for a long time like other online games you get to the end of the game and all you get is to kill stuff and nothing to really keep you wanting to go back for more they should have made it so you do it to get things to make some really good stuff you cant get in the world with out making it .
    but i am a fan of the game and for now i will keep playing and hoping things get fixed but when you get to the what feels like the end after a week of playing its was not worth what i payed for it    … Expand

    Copy paste from Fallout 4, add in a bucketload of bugs so that it's basically unplayable, take out all the NPCs and story that made it interesting. You get Fallout 76, a boring complete waste of time. Thanks Todd for No Man Skying the Fallout series. Never buying Bethesda again.

    I won't be going into what this is as of right now - that one can read everywhere else. I'm going to tell you what this game will never be - it will never be fixed. Engine used to create this game has too many limitations, Bethesda is not able to fix the bugs nor add content requested by people because it is technically impossible. Fallout 76 will stay as is forever.

    Graphics? Broken. You can't avoid errors. Get used to the blur, also.
    Storyline? I'd rather be back in H.S. listening to my worst History teacher.
    Quests? Borked. See above. Rated a snoozefest.
    Engine? It's Fallout 4 with all the bugs. Get used to the blur as if you had 20/400 vision.
    Grouping? Best to have friends and family who play online at the same time. If not? Roll the dice.

    Going back to Modded Morrowind. Yes, THAT is much, much better. Picking up Battle for Azeroth for the first time, for MMO. Maybe I'll fulfill my dream of buying a copy of Star Wars Galaxies just to play a better game on community server - I'd rather do this than play F76.

    Does F76 have promise? Yes. Can Bethesda fulfill it's false advertising claims? Yes, hire community modders at good pay to show Bethesda what REAL game developers are like. Bethesda shows itself to be a has-been company with F76. I'm going back to waiting 6 months before buying a Bethesda game.

    My hopes for F76? That Bethesda will have a nearly finished product by November of 2019. Or that Bethesda sells the IP to another company that is willing to? Not lie about a game. Actually produces something other than garbage and cares about the Fallout franchise.

Геймплей перекочевал полностью с четверки, из нового это только трое ваших друзей и пару десятков игроков на сервере, которых выСамая худшая игра в которую я играл. Что же, думаю оценка в один бал будет достаточно заслуженной. Ни кому не рекомендую покупать эту игру, даже если скидка на нее достигнет 90%, что скорее всего не произойдет, так как Тодд жадный говнюк.… Expand

    After playing the game for 50+ hours I feel like there's not much content left. The game is fun with friends but is boring when solo. The Fps spikes on console makes you only able to use semi-auto or slow shooting fully automatic guns. The pvp system needs a lot of work, respawns shouldn't be right next to the other player also when PvPing on console the game crashes or experiences lagAfter playing the game for 50+ hours I feel like there's not much content left.     Post process effect are so ugly, everything is blured and onj release there was 62fps cap.
    Seriously?Many ppl have 144HZ monitor or 240HZ monitor.For my it is most expensive game what i ever bought if i compare it with time spend in it. Cost me 35e an i played it 1minute - so ugly game for 2018

    Only glitches, horrible visuals, bugs, high price and total disappointment. Graphical side isn't the most important, there is just nothing to do, it's not an rpg, and not even an MMO, it's not even an online shooter, it's weak attempt to make an online mod for fallout 3 in my opinion. Very bad, i would say it's incredibly bad, nobody expected that, no no no.

    This game could have been good, but corporate greed has really killed this for me. Its bland, empty, glitchy, "full of detail" yeah right the landscape looks worse than fallout new Vegas.
    Miss this, i payed £70 and i am disappointed to not even get a physical disk. I DON'T WANT A CARDBOARD DISC.

    Under no circumstances is a full-priced game with microtransactions acceptable to me.
    $60 is too much for a game like this
    F76 is cash flow optimized to milk the customers.
    Bethesda should rather change their engine and publish bug-free games.

    After the 1.0.2.3 patch, many, MANY more bugs were introduced along with timed game crashes. You come in the game, need to take off your clothes, quit the game, restart the game, and then put your clothes back on just to enjoy the perks of your clothes. That sounds sweet!

    Oh! Would you like to claim and build at a workshop? Yes! Look at all of the stuff I just built....oh wait....game    After the 1.0.2.3 patch, many, MANY more bugs were introduced along with timed game crashes. You come in the game, need to take off your clothes, quit the game, restart the game, and then put your clothes back on just to enjoy the perks of your clothes. That sounds sweet!

    I just dont understand why Bethesda wants to keep using this engine. They say it is because they "know it".. My question is how do you use (and develop) something for literally more than a decade and still come out with the same bugs that have plagued your last 3 AAA releases???

The problem is that fallout 76 was made for an entirely different market then the core fanbase, rushed through development to sell as soon as possible, and is just generally poorly made. Пожалуйста, сохраните ваши деньги, ведь Bethesda вам их не вернёт. А вернуть вам их захочется, это 99,9 процентов. В этом куске програмного кода вы будете бегать (с тормозами лагами и фризами) по пустой карте, где не надо делать ничего. Где нет заданий. Возможно вам захочется разбить лагерь, где нибудь у реки, покрафтить, повыращивать мутафрукты кукурузу и тошку (для клея), то тогда имейте в виду, что когда вы выйдете из игры скорее всего всё это пропадёт. Оно всё будет в инвентаре, да, но отстраивать всё придётся по новой. А если пытаться перезаходить - то можете просто вылететь на рабочий стол.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where to begin? I have a lot of real life Fallout collectibles. I consider myself a Fallout junkie. This game REALLY tested my tolerance. Biggest complaint would have to be the level 50 Scorch Beast that is omniscient. You cannot hide. You cannot escape. You cannot wait it out. I encountered this thing at level 15. It made damn sure to keep me pinned in place until I either ran out of food, water, stimpacks or just logged the hell out. Frustrating is putting it mildly.
    Enemy levels are another issue. I went to the Belching Betty mine that is part of joining the firebreathers. The game started out with level 6 Scorch. Midway through it decided I should encounter level 63 Scorch. I got beaten to hell and back just trying to recover my junk. Once I got rid of the 63 (which at level 20 shouldn't be possible) the game was happy to put level 6's back. I'd broken most of my armor and used most of my ammo.
    Repairing gear has a bigger cost than just making new gear. Resources are very scarce as another player could have beaten you to an area and cleaned it out. So, you are generally just trying to find resources most of the time. Make that ALL the time.
    I got a Mutation pretty early. You can't lock in mutations until level 31 when you've maxed up Starched Genes. So, I did my best to avoid rads to keep from using Radaway and losing my mutation. It's impossible. A fellow player told me that all one need to do is suicide. The game reduces rads upon death. This effectively makes Radaway unnecessary until later in the game when you visit nuke sites.
    Sneak is pretty much broken. I approached an area with a hunting rifle. Stayed well out of range as to stay 'hidden'. When I manually aimed at any mob they inexplicably headed for cover. Nothing had alerted them. I wasn't in caution. They just knew.
    One mission asks you to kill a certain type of Ghoul. I gave up on this mission after 5 days of real time of never seeing one in the location the game informed me they would be.
    Another holotape asked me to kill a certain individual. After 3 days of real time I gave up. Every visit or relog had an already dead target.
    This 'thing', because I cannot call this a game, is frustrating beyond belief. Its an ALPHA stage clusterf*ck. Enemies running sideways through the ground. Loot from them is ridiculous. I cannot express hot frustrating it is to fight through an area, wasting all your ammo, to find plans for.....toilets.
    Get used to seeing the 'barbed walking cane mod' because its EVERYWHERE.
    Bethesda should be ashamed of themselves for this fiasco.
    I know a lot of people out there are like me and love the Fallout franchise and I'm hoping this doesn't kill it out right.
    People like to parrot the phrase "fun with friends"...but my friends gave up after 2 days and will NOT return. Most of the maps I have visited in the last few days have less than a dozen people.

    Remember the previous Fallout that had engaging dialogue and rich backstories for people and places?
    Very little of that is present in this game. The main storyline can literally be summarized in one sentence:

    The vault is open, yay! Go explore.
    *** END SPOILER ***
    That's right. The whole story of the game is that the vault opened and you go explore with your fellow vault dwellers, all of them played by other players.
    There are no companions and no NPCs with which you can engage dialogue. There are some NPCs (all robots, all humans, except for other players are dead, apparently) that have ~5 lines of text they randomly blurt out.

    Quests are all given by 1) holotapes from dead people (which can all be summarized as "I found this cool place, I'll mark it on the map. Oh no, I'm attacked! Aaah!" and you get your next quest marker to the allegedly cool place where you find yet another holotape and a dead body. Rince and repeat.
    2) Terminals you read. The storylines boil down to the same as 1).
    3) A robot that says a few lines.
    4) Random world events. Either defend a certain place or fend off a horde of enemies.

    Gameplay:
    I can only sum this up as a bug-ridden grindfest.
    Where previous fallout games actually made you feel like you had to scavenge what you could to make weapons or to rebuild, Bethesda has taken the fun out of this. In about 10 levels worth of playtime you will literally be swimming in scrap and ammo. But we can make cool weapons from this, right? While it is true that you can craft more weapons than any other Fallout game, don't get your hopes up. You can only store up to 600 lbs of gear. Make an awesome modded shotgun that you want to save for later? That's 20 lbs. Found a missle launcher? also 20 lbs. Rockets and mini nukes are also heavy, and before you know it, you spend literally hours and hours of storage management.

    You can also build your own camp. This is severely buggy at the moment. Your camp has a 'budget' toward what you can build and this is coupled to your storage. It is also contains so many bugs that it's also impossible to use. These include, but by far are not limited to: the game thinks I'm placing an item outside of my camp, while I'm placing it inside my house, corn being endlessly duplicated in my stash up to the 1000s of corn - no, this does not give you endless amounts of money, as you can only trade 200 caps every few hours, graphics glitches, and so on.

    Perks come in the way of cards. This seemed nice to me on paper; building your own deck of perks to fit your playstyle. It sucks big time in the game, however. Be prepared to put every point for the first 10 levels in strength and agility, for cards that decrease the weight of stuff by limited amounts. After that prepare to pick crafting, lockpicking and hacking cards for the next 10 levels.

    Inventory management is horrible in this game. Since you will have an abundance on resources, the weight limt is 'severely' limited (about 800lbs of combined inventory and storage), there is a limit on how much you can trade (more on that later), prepare to spend much time looking at your pipboy and dropping stuff by the hundreds.
    For some reason, Bethesda keeps using the same, poorly designed menus for their games. Ever since Morrowind, UI mods have been among the most downloaded for 'every' game. Yet they refuse to improve the menus. Since mods are not available for this game, this is a is really annoying.

    Multiplayer
    But wait, isn't that good, other players? So that we can roleplay? I thought this had potential at first too. Boy, was I wrong.
    The only interaction with other players you can have are a selection of ~10 emotes and team speak. That's it. Also, the game implicitly encourages to play on your own, as XP is given if you hit a target before it is killed. If you have a sniper in your party who one-shots everything, good luck leveling.

    There is a trade system. It is only possible to sell items for up to 600 caps per 24 hours to NPCs 'to encourage trading with other players'. Since everyone gets exactly the same semi-leveled loot, there is absolutely no trading taking place between players, since the same few resources are scarce for everyone.

    And last, but not least:
    There are micro transactions in the game. Yes, you read that right. You get points for every achievement with which you can purchase style items. These can also be bought with real money. This, to me, is unacceptable in a game I paid 50 bucks for.

    Overall
    Stay far away from this game, even if you are a die-hard Fallout fan. The game has too many poorly chosen design and gameplay concepts.    … Expand

    I start to miss the raiders I met randomly back in Fallout 4, although they will shoot me on sight every time, at least they can make me felt like I'm alive in that world and definitely not alone.
    During the beta, and after the game launched. All we do are just wondering around collecting junks scrapped them in the base workshop and going out for more junks...or farming those events over and over and over again just to get some maybe better loot and stuff.
    The traders only have 200 caps per faction per day, so I always found that I got sheit to sell but the trader has no more money at all to make the trade going... so I have to bring those sheit and all those junk I found with me and going over my carrying weight limit and not able to fast travel or run anymore...
    Finally, after I arrived my base, I tried to put all those junk in my statch cuz I need them to repair my weapons/armor and things like that; but guess what I do not have any bloody room in my statch anymore...
    After 3 days of this loop, I just start to feel bored on this game.
    PVP is kinda fooked right now if you shoot somebody much higher level than you by accident, it then will totally be up to them if they want to kill you and get all your sheit or not. It happened so many times for me in the nuked zone where I was shooting at NPCs and that dude just jumped straight in front of me and I become the bad guy then he one tapped me and isn't nuked zone supposed to be a PVE zone?
    I am done with Fallout 76, I had hope on you; but you just give it all up. Good bye

    This is without a doubt the worst game I have ever paid for. Bethesda should be absolutely ashamed with this abomination. This is coming from somebody that put over 1,000 hours into Fallout 4 (probably a couple hundred un-modded.)

It feels empty and sad, I wish I could take the more alive atmosphere from this game where all the trees and plants are alive and put it in fallout 4...oh wait! I can! When I have a maxed out weapon skill and it barely puts a tiny dent in the life of a mob 15 levels BELOW me. But this... this mess of a game is an insult to the fans and the franchise. Its a cash grab plain and simple. They recycled near all Fallout 4 assets to be repackaged and resold under a new name. I've been fantasizing about this level of immersion put into a game since the days of the original Fallout. So much so, that I even built a brand new computer JUST to play this game (and yes I know how to build my own box).

It was completely unplayable. I fell through the world a few times and lost all my loot.

Base building is boring and annoying, I just cant figure out what to do in this game.     Bethesda is currently on notice. Do not buy any games from them and do not pre-order anything they put out until you're 100% certain that what you're getting is worth what you're paying for.

    It also disgusts me to see positive reviews form "official" critics. If anyone needs proof that there are biased corrupt critics, take a look at the ones who were too scared to go any lower than a 5.0

    Fallout was end on Fallout 2! Next we have Fallout New Vegas from Obsidian on thx for Them for real Fallout in 3D World. New Vegas dont have good graphic and **** ragdoll and characters movement but it is a real Fallout with more options, way to go and decisions that affect to world.     The negative reviews are very much deserved for this game. it's on an engine that is over a decade old and was made for single player games. Many of the bugs in this game have existed for years in the past bugthesdas games and now people are telling me they are finally going to fix them, I find that hard to believe.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not once have I finished playing and not been aggravated/annoyed/frustrated with this product. Problems aside (and there are a LOT even for a bethsoft title) a game at it's core should be fun, this is in no way fun. Look at previous Fallout titles and think back to what made them fun:
    -A dynamic open world that was challenging and rewarded you for exploration/story
    -You had an impact and presence in the world
    -Rich NPC stories
    -Quests that made you want to see what happen, not just a run here do X check box

    Now strip all that out and you have Fallout 76. This feels more like an experiment that a bunch of modders put out. There are 0 NPCs, quests just appear in your inventory, enemies don't feel connect to the world, half the time they don't respond to being shot, your "camp" has the permanency of a tumbleweed and the presence in the world falls flat when the quest you just completed starts again for the next player. PVP is pointless and you get no reward for it. Heaven forbid you accidentally shoot a player, now everyone in the world gets a lovely notification and a map icon to come kill you. They can follow you around, line up that head shot all while you can't do a thing about it. Teaming up with players is a painful as it sounds. If you are on one step of a quest and your buddy is on a different step, guess what you're not gonna be able to help each other. The game has been stripped of what made it fun all to shoehorn in this multiplayer system that is, also, not fun. There doesn't seem to be an benefit to having multiplayer.    … Expand

    it shows how disconnected from reality Bethesda got with time.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is the biggest piece of **** i have ever played. the cons far outweigh the pros. It's fallout, but its so horribly executed/ I have played through the game. I'm level 95 and have tried to launch a nuke 4 times.

    First time i tried to launch a nuke, the parts magically went missing from my inventory to successfully launch a nuke.
    The second time i tried. AGAIN parts went missing off my character.
    The third time i went to launch the nuke and the server crashed.
    The fourth time I died and couldn't pick up my dropped gear that had all my circuitry.

    I usually give developers the benefit of the doubt on games and i can understand that launches can be buggy but lets be real here. This is Bethesda. they should know what the **** they're doing and they clearly don't.

    IF ANYONE is thinking about buying this game. Don't. Do not give Bethesda money for this steaming pile of ****.

These big game companies cannot treat us like half brained maggots or sheep, putting out an incomplete product with false advertisement and full price while they 'DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS'. What kind of a business practice is this that you cannot return a product you don't like and that is BROKEN. That is why the game is not on Steam or any other provider with first world customer protected standards. If you live in the first world and paid by a credit card, dispute it. If you got a 'code' instead of a 'disc copy' as advertised, if you got a plastic bag instead of canvas, take action and protect consumer rights. Lets not let anyone dilute and corrupt the gaming industry like they do in every other industry. Just move to the side if you cannot keep up with the pace.… Expand

    I wanted to love this game, but I can't. The game runs poorly, crashes frequently. I'm not allowed to take radiation damage, or else I'll crash. Wouldn't be too bad if there was a way to completely avoid taking any radiation damage. Another fun bug is that if you do too much damage to an enemy the server will refresh its health for any range weapon you have, meaning that you'll have toI wanted to love this game, but I can't.     They will not even be able to fix everything so that it does not look like crap, because you need to look at the root of the problem - the “engine”. It is so outdated that even with the titanic work of the developers of this **** nothing sensible will come of it.

    For starters, there are NO NPCs in the game! No one to interact with, no one to see how they survived, no one to give quests. The entire game seems to be a rushed attempt to play off Fortnight in the Fallout Universe because its all PVE or PVP, not the original Fallout we have been promised to continue.

    Quests are PVP based. Its all about killing other creatures OR becoming a Raider and killing other players, there is no story to follow anymore.

    Crafting is bugged out, and usually results in crashes. If you build your CAMP, and then relocate it, you must start from scratch because of bugs that prevent you from placing your saved CAMP again without rebuilding it.

    Bethesda ALSO promised us WEST-TEK Canvas bags from dropping the $200 for the special editions, INSTEAD WE GOT NYLON CHINESE RIP-OFFS BECAUSE they, and I quote:
    “Ran out of supplies and had to make a change at the last minute to deliver games.”

    In all this game is a MASSIVE MESS and a waste of time and money for a game that could have been so much more. Instead of a game, they released a BETA that they continue to update just TO MAKE MONEY!    … Expand

    Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

    Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]
