Total boring and disapointing game. Worst Fallout ever. Dont buy it. It is total broken and u dont want it for a single dollar.     hello map is really big but problem is no NPC no cool story, a lot of bugs, and also performance problems, stability problems, not much graphic options, game is not have soul, u can do only kill , loot junks, and explore, not more.. very very bad game sorry bethesda. skyrim is really legendary.

    Huge fan of Fallout, huge fan of Elder Scrolls. This game is so broken that I am now not a fan of any future games made by Bethesda.

    I really wanted to give this game a good score, but sadly fallout 74 has surprised me with its lack of content and polish. This game is a broken mess, with no NPC'S. We were lied to when this game was first showcased. Sadly, looks Like Bethesda is no more a trusted name in Gaming. A 60$ Game which still feels like its in early alpha stages, has absolutely paper thin content, no NPC'S, noI really wanted to give this game a good score, but sadly fallout 74 has surprised me with its lack of content and polish.     BUT there are also so many bugs, i had 4 bugs and each killed day of gameplay.
    So i spent more time in bugfixing than playing it self. I was a big fan of bethesda but this title is mind changing. And what ever i do, i cant find the storyline :/ Just chasin some holotapes.     Should not be available to the public yet. With developers pushing games like this there should be consumer protection laws against it. Constant bugs, no story or fun, open to hacks. Hope they reap what they sow here.

    I loved the early Fallout games, but this game is just terrible. After a few hours of clumsy annoying play trying to find a town following the story quest, I was hunted down, harassed, and killed by a squad of lv 30 players that were out hunting newbies for fun. This is the worst game I have ever played.

    I wrote a favorable review for this early on, but I was being hopeful. The game is on the brink of death because of the developers being lazy and greedy. This game was no where near finished when they pushed it to release. They cut out any story even just to get it out by christmas. it was riddled with exploits and glitches, and it's on their recycled engine that is over 10 years old. Instead of attempting to fix the glitches the developer began to ban huge portions of the player base and refusing to take responsibility for releasing an unfinished game. They began pinning the players against one another causing loads of toxicity in the community by blaming those who use game exploits for stability issues and more. Even if this game ever had a future or ever could have been good, I don't care. I will never buy another bethesda game again, and I own all the fallout games, and several other Bethesda titles, but after how they have conducted business here you can count me out, you have lost a loyal customer.… Expand

    First off, this game made me make a metacritic account just so I could rate it 0 stars. It is running (poorly) on a very old outdated engine that really can't handle and was not built for multiplayer. The bugs involved with the multiplayer make this game impossible to enjoy. If you are sure you really want this game, don't pay more than $10. Bethesda, I am not angry, I am just disappointed.

    I'm not sure what this was, Todd's LSD-induced idea, corporate demanding Fallout jump on the diseased bandwagon that is currently afflicting the rest of gaming or a feature that wasn't ready in time for F4 (and the studio demanded it get it's money worth). Hell, it was probably all three. Fact is though, it wasn't anywhere near up to scratch. Consumers are getting tired of this BS in AAA gaming and I'm glad they're voting with their wallets and writing negative reviews on-masse. Maybe our complaints will finally be listened to... but then again, when has this studio ever listened to us, really? Maybe they should just bite the bullet, sell the IP to whatever studio has the most ex-Obsidian employees and then maybe we'll get another gem like NV...

    - Consumers are tired of cashgrabs and half-finished games.
    - Microtransactions of any kind are CANCER.
    - Stop reusing assets just to bilk more money, yes I am talking about the reskinned skyrim dragon.

    I did love Fallout New Vegas, Fallout3, Fallout4. Fallout76 is like a generic survival game. The Graphics are ok, that is not my problem, graphics let me feel like Fallout4 again. But why this survival game? Where is the Fallout Epic Storyline, the Funny-Seroius Feeling about the world design. all is gone, is just an typical survival game.

    Fallout 4's fall from grace reincarnated as Fallout 76. This game is terrible, such a lack of colour in the story if any and the game is just boring.

    Hurry up and release Fallout 8 with a proper story line as well as proper single player experience

From a programming standpoint the game has terrible to little or no error handling. The law of unintended consequences rules every key stroke and mouse click. The game is extremely unstable and I'm constantly being frozen for 3 to 5I have been a huge fan of Fallout going back to the original but Fallout 76 is not only a terrible Fallout title but a terribly executed game on all fronts. The game is extremely unstable and I'm constantly being frozen for 3 to 5 seconds while the server catches its breath so to speak. On average, the server will freeze me out of play 5 to 6 times per hour. It is extremely hard to get a good gamer pace going when the game is constantly fighting the user's inputs. Beside being buggy as all heck, the story ranges from one dimensional to being virtually non existent. The combat is terrible as the enemy combatants seemingly transport back and forth across the screen making you waste tons of ammo to kill yet another scorched. I am really at a loss how any professional reviewer can write a positive review of this game. For the love of God and your immortal soul, do not waste your money on this game.     **** this game. I now played around 24h. From this 24h i spent aroiund 7 haurs trying to fix the power armor bug or replaying quests because the server didnt save my progress. And to top it all of the game is 50% of 2 weeks after it came out. **** Bethesda. I want my money back.

They have the idea of the CAMP and if there is someone at your place on a different server your CAMP gets put away....blueprints can bring it back...unless there was damage from anything (a bloatfly maybe). If you don't have the material to completely repair every aspect you get NO CAMP. Hours of hard work is gone. Contacted tech supportLove Fallout 4, hoping for more with this game. They have the idea of the CAMP and if there is someone at your place on a different server your CAMP gets put away....blueprints can bring it back...unless there was damage from anything (a bloatfly maybe). If you don't have the material to completely repair every aspect you get NO CAMP. Hours of hard work is gone. Contacted tech support which basically said we can't help and have turrents (I had 8 with overlapping fields of fire). Wanted so much more for this game, but there is a reason it dropped in price and has 80% of negative reviews. Bethesda maybe will get it right with fallout 5....not multiplayer. So many bugs, many deaths as the timing goes out as mutants disappear as a glitch....not ready for prime time.… Expand

    This should have been apart of then Fallout 4 DLC pass. To pass this off as a game by itself is a hilarious. I recommend all of you to steer clear from this game until its marked off by at least 60% and is fixed by the modding community, if that becomes a thing in this game.

    - abysmal performance and optimisation, outdated graphics, crashes across all platforms.
    - terrible reuse of an old single player game engine to patch together a shallow online experience
    - possible hacks, tons of bugs, easy exploits, terrible AI and pathing which leads me to believe that QA department in this company doesn't exist or they smoked crack while testing it
    - 24 people per server on a giant map. in 2018...
    - game tries to cater to PvE players even though there's no real PvE (robot NPCs, really?), end game doesn't exist
    - game tries to cater to PvP crowd when the combat system between players is totally neutered and really worthless.
    - and a lot of other issues there's no point in mentioning anymore

    Bethesda should be ashamed of releasing a product in this state, regardless of the game design they had for this title.

    If you need your Fallout dose, play one of the earliest titles with mods.
    If you want a higher risk/reward survival sandbox PvP game, play Rust. It's growing very well and has a consistent user base with a lot of different server types. OR play Conan, or Ark. Or whatever else, just not this piece of crap.

    I can only hope that the BOSSES that signed off are sacked and the developers that were not listened to and dictated over are promoted and tasked to put this right.

    Don’t buy this game. I preordered it for $200 cause I’m a die hard fan of the franchise but this game is a colossal **** bag and spit on the consumers. Buggy, terrible graphics, appalling frame rate, no npcs and dog **** combat. I’ve played 30 hours and It was a waste. If you want a good game go buy Read Dead Redemption because that game is worth every penny unlike this game.

    Broken game, not worth the micro transactions they are hawking or the $60 bare minimum price tag. (assuming you were foolish enough to trust them on release) Cherry on top was the promised refund one day, and breaking that promise the next. This experience has taken me from disappointed with the game to being uncomfortable spending money on this publisher in the future.

Especially since the work modders have done for previous Bethesda titles far outweighs this game in all those same categories in video games I mentioned previously, starting with gameplay.     Horrible game and horrible company. Was told I'd get a refund for my purchase and that they would have to send my ticket for processing. Then I get a message in my ticket saying I wouldn't be getting a refund AND they have taken access to the game away from me. So Bethesda has stolen my $59.99. Never do business with Bethesda they are two faced.

It's in the fallout world, but the issue is plays nothing like a fallout game similar to eso.... pvp is unfair clans can just nuke you, and your friends base anytime. The really upsetting thing is now we have to wait 15 years for fallout 5 now just like elder scrolls 6.

    I have been defending this game since launch - but the fact i spent 60dollars on a product thats now 35 dollars after 10 days is really getting to me. So i contacted bethesda and got denied a refund because i had installed the game.

    I feel scammed by them and lost my trust completely for them as a company

    >you feel like you're playing godmode despite not being in god mode
    >the only thing there is to do is get in groups and chat (as a result of the game being too easy)
    >why couldn't they have made a Fallout 5 except more like Fallout:NV than fallout 4, I wouldn't even care about the outdated engine
    >You could be playing skyrim over this (modded with Fallout weapons into it of course)

    Ok, so maybe the last 3 points aren't exactly strong criticisms, But this game comes off as so repelling to fans of Bethesdas other works that i don't even want to talk about it
    Not to mention they banned that one guy for abusive language despite him roleplaying as a Country Hick who had survived the apocalypse. I'm not even joking, his name was Nathan the Hick and he was clearly roleplaying as some backward country hick who planned to "eliminate all gays". he then went up to a group of users to share his views (in order to make them kill him) and then let them beat him to death.
    I can't tell whats more depressing; that players are willing to make themselves out to be enemies with better backstories than any of the actual enemies ingame due to how bland the whole world is, or that Bethesda has a strict "no fun allowed" policy to obvious roleplayers.
    Like are they wanting the roleplayers to only play as kind virtuous people in a post apocalyptic world? Because that's no fun

    Regardless, I do not recommend anyone play this game, the only appreciable aspect of it is the player player interactions because everything is so terrible.

I would have preferred more content for Fallout 4 then this heaping pile of "potatoes" and I don't see how this game will be successful in the long term.     I was excited, streamed it, promoted it. Since launch can not stream and play. If i do decide to play the game crashes every 20 minutes. I have a good rig, so its not the issue. ive reached level 110 mainly due to being amused playing with my friends, but at this point ive uninstalled and i doubt ill play again.

    Lore altered to fit to story

    With all that said, I have to give this a 0 and It seriously hurts to do so. I have been playing fallout for my whole life and its really saddening to see this game drop.     On top of that, even with an "anti-griefing" interface, or whatever, you still will be griefed by other players. Sure, if you don't attack back, you won't take much for damage, but you can still be trapped in doorways by players and attacked until you run out of healing items. ON TOP of that, PVP scaling is broken. If you decide to smack another player who's half your level but annoying the pants off of you, they'll two shot you with a weaker weapon. How pleasant for them. There needs to be a function to completely opt out of PVP. It's not for everyone. Don't even get me started on the lack of a push to talk function.

    The blocking feature is also unfortunately not useful. I was griefed by players and needed to finish something in the area--blocking them did not stop them until they killed me. There is no in-game ticket or GM to report players to.

    The story is very flat and boring as well. There are some fun things (workshops, C.A.M.P--even though that is bugged and frustrating, hunger/thirst, events--some are broken, the importance of loot, etc...). The perk system is interesting to say the least. But you can't respec if you find out your playstyle is bugged--and most online games with some sort of talent system allow you to respec for currency..

    Overall, it's a big sad NO. Don't pay full price for a beta. Don't buy this if it isn't on sale. You will be griefed. You will scrap your favorite weapon if the screen lags a bit. You will be ready to go to your C.A.M.P. to put all your found loot away--only to discover that someone logged in while you were exploring, and their camp replaced yours.

    Don't buy this game. It is an unfinished piece of trash.

    Complete failure of a game. What an embarrassment. It's a slap to the face of their customers. Game breaking bugs, disconnecting from servers, the UI glitches out, the inventory is broken. It's a terrible waste of time. Life is too short to waste time with games like this.

    Games is still buggy, after beta. Is more unstable than Fallout 4, Textures are really bad, and even young moder can make better one. I have no idea have so big company can make so low quality product. Don't buy it if you do return it.
    And now we got "no refund" controversy.

    Terrible, I don't need to reiterate what 10's of thousands have already complained about. Stale, empty, steamy pile of a game. Glitches, bugs, blurriness in the near distance (on a high end pc). Go fetch this, go kill that, come back do it again. Don't forget to eat, drink, reduce radiation, and maintain health all with a clunky last gen hud system in a live atmosphere.     This game is one of the worst games I've ever seen in a long time and it is such an embarrassment to all the people who bought this. I don't even need to describe how bad this game is. This game will be a huge example why you should always study your games before you buy them.

    Bethesda a company I love, is becoming Bungie, a company I hate. This game is lackluster. But the bamboozling of Bethesda on the Collectors Stuff is really enough. They better not do this to the Elder Scrolls series or I will never buy a Bethesda game again.

    A dead soulless version of a great franchise, i would ask for a refund but alas if you downloaded the game you are not eligible for refund. Shame on you bethesda you're quickly heading to EA status nice work.

    Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

    Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]
