    I'm a long term player of the fallout brand.
    This game is really different from the predecessor, but it is really enjoyable and fun to play.
    And when first nuke explode your heart will have a gulp.
    Plenty of enemies and also hard to beat, i suggest this game if you love the fallout universe,
    Forgot, in the beginning the game was really full of bugs, but now they are nearly all fixed.

    With the wastelanders update the game hasn't improved one bit.
    It's still very buggy with a horrible community or gankers and griefers.
    Also duping is still a thing and exploiters are common.

    Graphics are still glitchy and it's a huge grind to get anywhere.

    This is one of the worst games I've ever played.

    I have no baggage with this game. I’ve come at it fresh, once wastelanders was out. I think It’s a cracking game. But the Atom store is a disappointment, and the Bethesda clunky animations and poor character art bring the score down. Definitely worth a punt!

    This game is so bad that it should be illegal. If more companies follow bethesdas lead and make games like this one, I wouldnt be surprised if we end up having another video game industry crash in the future. It will be bethesdas fault, and the people that played/payed for this game's fault..

    If you care about the gaming industry, DONT PLAY THIS GAME!!!

    This game is OK. Not so great as previous, many bugs, poor optimization, grindy, but it's OK. I bought it for 15$ and regret nothing.

    I've played nearly every game Bethesda has put out - and this has to be the ultimate culmination in absolute garbage. The simple fact that the game contains errors that have persisted in this engine for nearly 20yrs now is total absurdity. How can they be so damn lazy and/or stupid to not fix these errors? They existed in almost every iteration of Elder Scrolls, they existed in FalloutI've played nearly every game Bethesda has put out - and this has to be the ultimate culmination in absolute garbage. The simple fact that the game contains errors that have persisted in this engine for nearly 20yrs now is total absurdity. How can they be so damn lazy and/or stupid to not fix these errors? They existed in almost every iteration of Elder Scrolls, they existed in Fallout 3, Fallout 4, yes they were in Skyrim and yes they were in the first release of Fallout 76. And yet 2 yrs after release....they still persist! Utter incompetence on a grand scale the likes we have never seen before.
    With the hype of Wastelanders - I decided to download FO76 one more time and try my character out, nearly a year since I left. Ladies and gentelmen....it took just 10minutes of playing for me to want to bash my computer into a pulp with a baseball bat -- that's how frustrating these errors are. 10 minutes and that's all it took.

    My final summary of what's left of 'The once-great' Bethesda is simple - without the modding community to come in a patch every single crap game Bethesda makes...they will just be a memory of the company that once was but is no longer!    … Expand

    2019 Stopped playing at lvl 26 because I realised that you can't respec - fun game but don't want to play again 3 days to reach lvl 26. (this is really a no go for me..)
    There are some bugs.. but it wasn't such a big problem.
    Fun game even if you play alone but maybe you should wait another half a year... and select a spec you want to play before (WTF? no way.. wait until they fix the spec problem.. then maybe - play it - or not.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In short, Fallout 76’s addon wastelanders feels like the best quest mod I’ve ever played. Let me clarify. DLCs normally take you to a completely new place, like Fallout 3’s The Pitt, that takes you to Pittsburg, and Fallout 4s Far Harbor which takes you all the way up north to Maine. But this addon, which is pretty much the first BIG DLC for Fallout 76 doesn't take you to a new place, but instead takes the world space and framework laid out in the base game and expands upon it. There were a lot of interesting locations that just felt empty in the base game, although there still are the random wastelanders and new faction wastelanders add just enough liveliness to the world that it no longer feels completely dead.… Expand

    This game doesn't seem it was made in 2018. It seems quite an old game, the UI is terrible, the amount of bugs is by far the buggiest game I've ever played in my entire life. This writing is really poor, microtransactions, you name it.
    Please, do not buy this game. It's a testament how these guys don't respect their gamers.

    I'm quite skeptical whenever Bethesda releases a game nowadays, since in my opinion they are reaching EA lows (and now Blizzard) with certain cutthroat policies. In any case, Fallout 76 was terrible, but like ESO, it's turning out to be a very good game after all the updates, with Wastelanders it's the perfect chance to give it another chance.

    I totally don't understand these low grades, if someone had a good time in F3, Vegas, F4 would have a great time here.     I bought all the original fallout games back on the pc and all the elder scrolls games. Bethesda has become a trash company like EA caring more about micro transactions than their customers.

    And I can't understand why is it. BGS have made good open-world games previously (even though F3&F4 are mostly hated by classique Fallout fans), ZOS keep running really good Elder Scrolls MMO (and they even helped BGS with F76), but the game just bad.
    I only hope, that BGS' next projects will be far better.

    There is a lot of bugs and a lot of FPS dropping in this game. A very little story in the game, there is about few NPCs. It just looks the same as Fallout 4. There are mods for this game but not so big to change the core game. The gunplay mechanic is crap.
    V.A.T.S., it's just crap. It can go from 85% to 0% when the enemy moves to quick. V.A.T.S. is just a crappy aimbot.

    Don’t listen to all the reviews, play it for your self. I stayed away from the game because of all the Negative reviews. My buddy convinced me to get it. I honestly have not had as much fun as I’m having now in a long time with a game.

    After a point, the only thing you will find yourself doing is going hunting for resources. While hunting, you hold hope of finding a better weapon. Break your current weapons and armor. Use the found resources to fix your equipment. Deposit Meds and food into the chest and repeat.

    With the horrific amount of bugs present in the game and everything we have seen, is there hope for a better game in the future? Honestly I am really skeptical due to Bethesdas bug history. Will they fix things over time? Sure, but seeing as how the community usually picks up the slack with mods, I don't see the game being that much better unless they somehow knock it out of the park.

    All in all it was a huge disappointment, and with all the controversy around thins game, it has easily become one of Bethesdas largest failures. Maybe if they add an offline mode after wastelanders? All I can say is we will see.    … Expand

    It's been over a year since release and Fallout 76 continues to disappoint completely. Bethesda has managed to push a ridiculously priced subscription meanwhile people are still falling through the world, having creatures not respond properly, other game breaking bugs connectivity issues, and on top of this having their entire inventories stolen via hacks. This game is a joke.

    Biggest mistake from most people who dislike this game is that they have the wrong expectation.
    It's a MMORPG game with a fallout theme, not a multiplayer fallout game. They've said this from the start. That said however, Bethesda really needs to step up it's game in testing before releasing. They're losing reputation as a company    great game, though could do with some more depth.

    It's pretty okay, and definitely the best "live service" type game since you can earn enough atoms for everything that comes out in the atom shop just by playing the game. No human npcs yet is a bit annoying, but no one's paid full price for this game since the first week have they?

    Music/sounds : Well, since the launch with a good song, I was expecting something better... The radios are well... uninspired, the ambient soundtrack is poor and feel repetitive. The enemy sounds and weapons sounds are OK for the most part, but still strange... Sometimes silenced weapons sounds like normal ones, enemies sounds left or right but are just on the top floor... 3D sounds seems poorly integrated in the engine.

    Story : PWP ? Seriously, this game as a story ? For me the story stop at a bug, the same bug as in the B.E.T.A, I go to an objective, the game doesn't register me quitting a terminal... I'm done with this **** It's on the main quest, and it is still bugged more than a year after release... Reminds me of some guild in skyrim that does the same time to time...

    Stability : None, I tested the game today, and yesterday to see if it is any good now... Well, server seems to have less lag... But it's the only thing I can feel. I have the screen going black in random flashes time to time. I have like loading lag, object appearing from nowhere... Or best, enemies still spawning in my back, I can't do more than one or two objective before the enemies spawn back ! Oh and not forget the most important, I'm here because the game just "crash" no error message, nothing to tell me why, it just crashes...

    Does this game deserve salvation ? : I doubt that, events if they implement rushed npc, this game stability is less than good, 14 months after release... OK, maybe the most "glitchy" things are out, but... This is still less stable than Fallout 4 with more than one hundred mods... how can it be ? And yeah, the game looks old, for a second I feel like I was back five years ago, maybe more...    … Expand

    this is the most trashy game ever, despite very enjoyable gameplay which in m opinion is one of the best experiences; tha game deserves less than 0 considering that after almost 2 years after it's launch, it still has server connection problems and discconects you in the middle of a quest, making you lose it, and all the **** loot you bothered to scavenge for 2 hours.

I'm more of a lone wolf when playing, so multiplayer is not really a thing for me, I purchased the game to play by myself, and the way the main missions are setup are very bad, there are big gaps in the required levels to be able to finish a mission even when playing them in the right order...     This game isn't for everyone. It's not Call of Duty or Fortnite. For anyone not familiar with Fallout, this is a post-apocalyptic survival game. You are one of the few survivors after nuclear holocaust wiped out most of humanity. Everyone above ground who survived the blast struggled to survive, but eventually torn each other apart; one way or another. As the last survivors, you and your friends exit an underground vault to rebuild civilization from the ashes. It is a slow moving game, and no one is left alive to step up and order you around. That's precisely why I love it - no one is dictating to me how I should play the game.

    Fallout 76 brings you a mutated toxic wasteland in a post-apocalyptic survival world where you can get together with friends (or make new ones) while exploring the ruins of of a near-future civilization. It's much more of a survival game than a combat game. You have to learn to build a C.A.M.P., to purify water, and to break down junk to build equipment and structures. Like other Fallout games, there is a lot of humor in the game for those who like sarcastic wit or dark humor. Your character will die if you don't eat and drink regularly. You catch and suffer diseases from eating uncooked meat, drinking dirty water, or being attacked by diseased mutant animals. Unlike other open and semi-realistic survival horror games, I can actually save my progress, and then pick it back up whenever I have time.

    Below are the top comments I've heard from this games detractors, and why I personally think they're ridiculous. Hopefully this will help anyone who would actually enjoy the game, but is scared by the negative reviews. Some of the complaints were legitimate when posted, but may not be aptly applied to the game today.

    Top complaints from other reviewers:
    1. "There is no story."
    2. "The game doesn't work."
    3. "It's a cash grab scam."

    First: "There is no story."

    One of the most common complaints I heard early on was "there is no story". The game has multiple quest lines that give you an inside look into the rise, life, and fall of each of the worlds major factions; Responders, Free States, Brotherhood of Steel, Raiders (and the various factions within), Enclave, etc. Each quest line introduces characters and events that often cross over with the others. The story is told slowly. As you explore the wasteland, you come across abandoned settlements, ruined bunkers, collapsed houses and buildings, booby-traps, a wide variety of mutated wildlife, demented humanoid mutants, friendly and hostile robots, and corpses. Some people don't like that the only friendly NPCs are robots, with the exception of a couple of shop keepers (a Super Mutant and a Mole Miner). Personally, I don't find the robots to be much different from "human" NPCs. Either way, they aren't actually human.

    Second: "The game doesn't work"

    As far as performance and stability, I was a B.E.T.A. tester who pre-ordered. Since launch, Bethesda has released regular updates and frequent hot fix patches to address the issues their community reports to them. I have found very few companies that provide the quick response to issues like Bethesda. They even worked over the Christmas week, and most of the "news" online that reported on the inventory hack came out AFTER the exploit was already locked down. Through regular updates, Bethesda has made the game pretty stable. 76 crashes less for me than Fallout 4 and New Vegas do through Steam.

    Third: "It's a cash grab scam."

    I pre-ordered Fallout 76 for $60, was a B.E.T.A. tester, and have over 1000 hours on record playing Fallout 76, across 5 unique characters. I've spent less than $0.08 USD for each hour that I've enjoyed playing Fallout 76 (including a full year subscription to Fallout 1st). There is plenty to do in Fallout 76 to justify the cost, and I've seen it as low as $30 today.

    There is no mandatory per month fee to keep playing (something I hate about many other MMORPGs). There is nothing in the game that you cannot unlock without spending any more money after buying. The premium currency (Atoms) can be earned by completing daily and weekly quests. The monthly subscription for Fallout 1st does guarantee you an on-demand private server, plus other in-game bonuses that offer minor conveniences. I chose to subscribe to Fallout 1st because I play enough that the ~$8.33/mo. for the annual subscription is very affordable. Even with the low cost of renting a private server on an on-demand hourly basis, Bethesda can't be making much money on me with this "cash grab".

    Closing thoughts:

    It's sad that so many people post negative reviews for this game right after it came out as a beta. It's even more sad that so many people simply say they hate the game while openly admitting they haven't played it.    … Expand

    A large part of the interaction within the game relies on people encountering each other, but still tries to let you see through the Fallout window. Yet there are no survivors or NPCs, only game modes and events to try and bring people to an area.
    The overall graphics were a noticeable set back from F4, which is disappointing considering both were made at the same time. The gameplay mirrors what we know to be Fallout as closely as it can, but overall it felt rushed, short handed, and not very well thought out.    … Expand

I can not stress enough how bad this game is, but take this review has an entire rating of everything related to the game (Collector’s Edition, Nuka Rum, Fallout 1st). Even though I got the game essentially for free from a bundle, I still feel robbed, like how is it that every single week there’s a new **** up? And this week’s episode of how did Bethesda ****ed up now, the game literally became a creative mode MMO Fallout 4, everybody has god-tier weapons, Preston Garveys as companions and ****ing pridewings. I knew the game was essentially a Fallout 4/ Skyrim re-skin but this actually feels like a mod.     I gave it a 1 because it was at least free (for a weekend). Over a year since launch and this game is still a mess, it is primarily a first person shooter but the combat is completely broken, enemies not taking damage, enemies shooting through walls and more, the list is endless. It’s such a shame because I love exploring the world and the lore.

Players can do everything they want, the are so many different locations to visit and many enemies to defeat and rewards to beat them.     I mostly prefer this game, because I experienced it, and this kind of experience is good to best, not to mention the updates we will get in the future! Don't get me wrong, the bugs can be a bit annoying but not game breaking. I mostly shrug one and move along when I encounter one. About the gameplay: You loot resources if you want(just like in Fallout 4), some quests need some resources to progress. But when you loot resources by just grabbing them up, the game doesn't feel grindy, it's just like Fallout 4 in mechanics. You won't ecounter NPCs, the game feels empty BUT the WHOLE game is a Pre-sequel to the other Fallout games, and THIS is THE ambience of the game. You can find out why this game is empty, because the story is all about investigating the "why and where".

    About the atomic shop and microtransactions:
    Feels like a money grab first, but after jumping in, you can earn atoms by completing quests, levelling up, completing daily and weekly challenges. I managed to get 1800 atoms overall by just playing 30 hours/ getting to level 33. A power armor paint(for T-45, T-60, X-01 armours unlocked account wide) costs 1400-1800 atoms, and I nailed one by just playing the game. If you find in-game microtransactions expensive, try thinking strategically. Buy the game discounted for like 30 euros(instead of the original 60), then spend the other 30 for juicy cosmetics IF YOU WANT, I must underscore the "optional" for you of course. :)

    Have fun playing the game if you bought the game after seeing this review, and watch out for deathclaws in early levels! ;)

    I have found out they have this subscription, for this half assed game that I've been giving my hope for months. This is utterly disqusting. Bethesda should be ashamed, this is the least they could do. Their reputation went down in the toilet, and my hope for any future Fallout releases too. Oh, and to mention: Good future DLCs cancelled because of this **** or at least delayed. Money talks, Bethesda, for you at least, but you won't crawl your reputation out of this mess anytime soon.

No matter what I do I cannot get this game to not run like a turd. I have a 4790k at 4GHZ with 32GB of system ram and a 1080 Strix with 8 GB of video ram and even on low settings and low screenI love the ambiance of fallout 76, the music, the grit, the desolate feeling. I waited a year to play and I have played to level 25. I will not be playing again until they fix the performance. No matter what I do I cannot get this game to not run like a turd. I have a 4790k at 4GHZ with 32GB of system ram and a 1080 Strix with 8 GB of video ram and even on low settings and low screen resolution, the game studders and freezes and dips below 40fps so often it makes me sick. Imagine if this game was built in the unreal engine, you wouldnt have t pose and frozen encounters with scortched and ghouls withing minutes of loading your first game. I spent hours of reddit and other forums trying to make this game run better, following others advise to make it not run so much of a turd, but no more. If you are on the fence about this game and care about how a game runs, do not buy. No game deserves a 0, but this deserves nothing more than a 5.… Expand

And I was really excited for Fallout 76, even though it wasn't the traditional rpg experience I expected from Bethesda. I played for about 50 hours on PC when it was first released for the PC beta and when the hard release came around. It was a fresh feeling going into it at first with the new wasteland and the potential for new story elements and world building that we haven't experienced since the game is set before the events of the original Fallout 1. Unfortunately none of the story I found via holotapes or terminals really got me engaged, despite me trying to get into it.     Insanely, and absolutely terrible, I've been a fan of the whole fallout series since the first, got Platinum trophy in Fallout NV, 3 and 4, and I must admit that Fallout 76 came as something totally unexpected, since the stuff they putted on it was supposed to be on the 4, also the cost of it and the stupid micro transactions bethesda has created its just ashaming

    Let me understand please: this games comes out and it's a tragedy on almost every aspect; still, people believes in the project, buy and play the game, partecipate to create a good community (this is part of the value of the game too) and Bethesda asks to pay for things that should be already in the game?

    Why should I buy the subscrption when with the same money I can get a subscrption elsewhere to play different and whole games?

    In italy there's a "little" organization that first put the danger in the streets, than asks you to pay the protection. Mafia, in its origins name, means "bully" before meaning "criminal organization"; surely Bethesda doesn't kill people but they murdered videogame spirit.

    To the next company that cries because of its own flop I say to learn to respect customers and start to follow a quality product standard like other products in life; I don't think that we would accept the same things that happen with videogames buying, for example, a car:
    "Don't worry, this car doesn't have wheels NOW but with the next patch you'll get the them for free".

If it's not being boycotted now and Bethesda being called out loudly among other "triple A" developers, then this will become a permanent trend in future, where money making is TOP priority, and then maybe the player.
    Fortunately there are a few leading exceptions like CD    Bethesdas Fallout 1st is a blatant punch into their customers face (Us, the players!) and is unspeakably outrageous.     I really love Fallout since 2007, so finally after about 100 hours of gameplay:

    Pros: -beautifull crafted World (although 80% Re-used assets from Fallout 4) -Exploring the World -Crafting -Building -looting and shooting (The junk Concept of Fallout 4 is really great) -slight survival aspects Cons: -Disgusting, greedy Macrotransactions (gating of Features with a paywall)    I really love Fallout since 2007, so finally after about 100 hours of gameplay:

    Pros:
    -beautifull crafted World (although 80% Re-used assets from Fallout 4)
    -Exploring the World
    -Crafting
    -Building
    -looting and shooting (The junk Concept of Fallout 4 is really great)
    -slight survival aspects

    Cons:
    -Disgusting, greedy Macrotransactions (gating of Features with a paywall)
    -Bethesda lying and constantly pushing the boundaries to extort more and more money while gating of more features
    -still plenty of bugs (partly from launch and with every update the list grows a bit longer)
    -very limited storage which contradicts the hole looting, trading and collecting game loop
    -Main "Story" for the most part very boring, very buggy and very stretched out
    -Quest design mostly very boring filler stuff
    -insert here next step of overmonetizing this turd
    -very grindy
    -No endgame mechanics other than rng legendaries (which you can re-roll for other rng legendaries)

    Yes i have spend many hours in this game. i enjoyed exploring applachia slowly and had some hopes for the game in spring. This Hope has been lost in the summer More Macrotransactions and more bugs is the roadmap for this game. I don't have hope for wastelanders and a think this game will go free to play in the next months and will be abandond next year. I just scares my what we can expect for Starfield, ESO 6 and Fallout 5    … Expand

    Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

    Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]
