    I'd bought Fallout 76 and I played it about thirty hours and it was a torture. The game has a lot of bugs and there's nothing in common with the past games. If you've played the old games and you're searching for the same experience, then you need to stay away from this game.

    I have put over 400 hours in this game. There is not much to the "game." Its basically just a junk collector time sink. I did enjoy making camps and just wasting time finding crap. So why the review and score? Because of the new subscription. They are making people pay for things that should have been in the game.     This utter piece of garbage's only existence is thanks to the support that it gets from moronic idiots that keep paying this company for utter crap. With the recent addition of that 100 dollar yearly subscription they can kiss any and all future support that I might have had for them down the line. Disgusting.

    Seriously disappointed, I've played New Vegas and Fallout 4 which were both brilliant, this is so far awful. Convinced me to never buy another game first day from them again. Not fun or entertaining, it's a waste of money. Seriously a terrible game, it felt like a chore getting to level 25 where I am, haven't touched it in weeks.     FO76 ran like an asthmatic pig uphill on PS4. However it runs pretty dreamy on PC. Personally I liked everything that FO76 had to offer except one thing a major deal breaker. The base game stash limit is a measly joke of 1,200 lbs. Not 1,200 items, but 1,200 numbered in weight. Ok back off to play FO4 for the umpteenth time. No problems hording to my hearts content in that one.

    What was added: more cashgrabs.
    What was not added: enjoyable bug-less gameplay.

    Trying to love this game since its release. The concept is good - but gods! how bad the execution is!

    Stay away from this game. Even if it would be the last multiplayer-only game in the world - just stay away.

The whole "online" side is just a forced on, crappy, not really working side put there to monetize, not to let us play fallout with friends, it makes most aspects of the game Not work properly while giving Bethesda monetization without any investing on the their part. The reintroduction of npcs was at one side something good but at the other side showed what really happened, Bethesda introducing something so basic, not working in a Bethesda way, with the rules and consequences that made Bethesda games good and immersive. Here, npcs are blank objects programmed to say their thing αnd not much more.     Then there is Bethesda handling of their customers. Ranging with the handling of their $200 dollar Collectors Edition to customers requesting refunds for the game.

    I requested a refund on the game like many others and received an automated response which have upset a great deal of people.

    First of all, just by downloading the game, you no longer eligible for a refund. I call nonsense on this. How are people suppose to know if the game is good or bad. The only way is to download the game and play it. Yes, you can go to game news sites or watch videos about the game. But there will be a few sites and videos praising how great the game is.
    At least with Steam, they have procedures when it comes to digital games. You can ask for a refund within 14 day and haven't played the game for more then 2 hours.

    At this point, Bethesda is still digging their own grave due to all the anti-customer practices they are doing on a daily basis. Right now, the depth of the their grave has gone past the 6 feet mark and is just going straight down.

    Bethesda needs to sort out all of their problems involving Fallout 76 and it's customers. If they don't, I can see that their next few games won't do so well because of how they handled Fallout 76.

    As for me, I will be more weary on buying any more of Bethesda's games in the future. I will wait a month or 2 and see if the game is worth even buying.    … Expand

    I'll preface my review by saying Fallout has been my favourite franchise since fallout 3, wasteland survival is one of my favourite genres. Fallout 76 was something I looked forward to since they announced it. Then the beta dropped and I thought "Oh this is rough, guess they'll fix it like they said they plan to." But I've been playing it since launch and all the main elements are broken,I'll preface my review by saying Fallout has been my favourite franchise since fallout 3, wasteland survival is one of my favourite genres. Fallout 76 was something I looked forward to since they announced it. Then the beta dropped and I thought "Oh this is rough, guess they'll fix it like they said they plan to." But I've been playing it since launch and all the main elements are broken, and the absence of live NPCs (which used to bring flavour to the world) just makes the game so lonely that those broken elements get fixated on. The PvP is broken and so unbalanced, favouring the attacked player in every fight. Which even if they win the attacker gets nothing but scrap and then gets a bounty which makes them open to being attacked by anyone but unable to damage anyone until they get a hit on you. The end boss is pretty close to unkillable in the allotted period when you're a higher level due to having a couple hundred million health. The servers are constantly crashing, my frame rate is usually terrible, frequently I need to switch servers just to get a temporary bump in frame rate.
    Honestly, I really want to like this game and I know it can be good, but it isn't right now. It's a buggy mess that is nowhere near what was promised. If you haven't bought it yet don't. They have a lot to fix, they can do it. But until they do, don't waste your money.    … Expand

To top off the multiple failures to close properly, multiple disconnects from the servers and multiple deaths where you lose all the stuff you have to grind to collect, it now keeps deleting the .exe file on exit and won't re-validate the damn thing.     This game is great. You can walk around and see nothing of value or interest. What is really nice, the game really has no point. You can follow a robot for 10 minutes and help it kill a couple super mutants, and your reward will be some crafting trash. If you're really lucky, you might be able to collect enough junk to have an empty junk pile "camp" of your own.

    The best part of this game are the near constant bugs. Server crashes, random items disappearing, and "quests" that simply don't work, are just a taste of the broken state of this turd-farm.

    Finally, when you've realized this game is a half-assed DLC from Fallout 4, and you accept you've been tricked by Bethesda, you can start the process of telling them it's trash, and not what you paid for. Then begins the real fun, Bethesda "customer service". It's the online version of staring into a mirror and saying, "Go screw yourself" repeatedly.

    Great stuff. Just great stuff.

And when they decided to borrow ideas from other actual MMOs (F76TL;DR: From the anti-intuitive keybindings, over loss of progress due to bad game design decisions, over menu design from the times of text adventures, to visual effects like shadows and lighting as well as an AI that were better in Half-Life 2 from 15 years ago, it seems Bethesda wanted to re-invent the wheel at every turn. And when they decided to borrow ideas from other actual MMOs (F76 is not an MMO), they took the worst possible way to solve problems they themselves created.

    After the first hour ingame, I already want to punch the persons responsible for these horribe - and as my friend so fittingly put it, anti-intuitive - key bindings. Why does "Tab" sometimes bring up a menu, and close others, and is sometimes used to "accept" or "confirm" things, when at other times I have to "accept" or "use" something by pressing "E", or "Return", or clicking with my mouse, which can also be used to skip videos, but then again, this only works on some videos and others must be cancelled or skipped with "T".

    Weapon and armor balance is all over the place. This works in a single player game, but seriously Bethesda, hire someone who can explain to you why your "damage resistance" model does not work when you want to have competitive weapons with different attack speeds.

    While perfecting the appearance of a new character, the menus again are horribly designed. The whole instruction panel on the bottom, telling me what keys have what function, would land me 10k+ upvotes on r/CrappyDesign. There is a message ingame, after creating a character, that tells us we can go back to customizing our characters later on, I like that. But why don't you tell us in the very same way that we need to leave the vault to save our character in the first place. No, let's just delete your progress without any confirmation.

    The whole combat system is clunky at best. The quests beyond the story consist of barely more than kill and collect. And the actual story is delivered via text terminals; I don't need a 3D video game to play a text adventure.

    Lastly, I want to put the designers back to UX lession 1. Never, ever lose user input. And if the program is about to delete user input, ask the user first, or provide some way to undo that action.

    I did play the free trial week and tried to find any trace of enjoyment. The two points are not for the game as it is now, but for the idea of what it could be, if Bethesda took it offline, reworked design decisions, licensed an engine that can actually handle what they want to accomplish, and re-released a new version two years later.    … Expand

Theyve also added a battle royale to which they will put more emphasis and importance to it, meaning more concetration on that game mode then into the base game itself. The fact that it is in survival 24/7. Where you cant chose to get off of that. Where is they made adventure for mainly pvp. Where they couldve put survival in there or made a complete different game mode for that scenario over all. The toxic community to which they wont even allow you to talk bad on the game or address issues rather will completely insult you. If i could a different fate then having this, id play fortnite with a bunch of 9 year olds and my friends brother who will completely call me a **** and a whore.… Expand

    So i ended up with this game because a friend gifted to me, and right now im just thinking if we should still be friends, the game is just completely broken, a ton of bugs. not only that the game now has a suscription with stuff that should be for free. also NO LATAM SERVERS.

    Fallout 76 promises to give the player a traditional Fallout single player experience but this time with other players. The Fallout games are highly regarded as key player in the RPG genre with strong narratives, quests and world building across a post apocalyptic wasteland where you have to scrounge to survive its inhabitants.     Fallouts gunplay has never been it's strong point, it's always been the narrative so when players began to populate Fallout 76 they began to understand this. No NPCs (Non playable Characters) apart from the various wasteland monsters of West Virginia made the game feel tainted and empty. Quests and side quests are handed out from robotic means such as computer terminals or tape decks and some of these quests would be teasing you to find someone, anyone and the sad part is you already knew they were never going to be there. The main quest is a stick and carrot experience and down right insulting to anyone who came into the fray looking for a story.

    Assets and terrains have been completely ripped out of Fallout 4, many models looking ugly and low textured. Structures that are dull, lonely and uninteresting. Granted it is supposed to be post apocalyptic but it doesn't excuse terribly modelled buildings that could be whipped up in a few hours making the rounds from past Fallout games.

    Technically speaking the game is a disaster. Bethesda clings on to the Creation Engine which is dated and flawed and it shows. Bugs are frequent both Physical and Graphical. Despite the game looking as poor as it does it still struggles with performance no matter which platform you are playing.

    Although this is an online game, do not expect social interaction to come easily. Fallout is a chore when it comes to playing with friends you will have to rely to third party means of communication.

    Over time pay to win features have been slowly creeping into the Micro-transactions for the few players still suffering the game.

    Neverending flow of bugs that keep returning. After a hopeful period in the first half of 2019, it shows that ultimately Bethesda's promises are false, they do not populate the game with sufficient new content, they introduce P2W mechanisms and have their players for a cashcow without actually fixing the game first. There are way better alternatives around. Stay away from this!

Even though I got the game essentially for free from a bundle, I still feel robbed, like how is it that every single week there’s a new **** up? And this week’s episode of how did Bethesda ****ed up now, the game literally became a creative mode MMO Fallout 4, everybody has god-tier weapons, Preston Garveys as companions and ****ing pridewings. I knew the game was essentially a Fallout 4/ Skyrim re-skin but this actually feels like a mod. Everyone knows about the controversies like the deceptive marketing with nuka-rum, micro transactions, info leak, canvas bags and bugs. Bethesda has been flat out greedy with the release of this game, and all evidence points towards it. High price tag, atomic shop (micro transactions which has non cosmetics now), fallout 1st, and now the new armor packs. Bethesda wants to charge you $13 a month for something that should be free in game, limitless storage. Not to mention these power armor suits you can buy for $20 a piece should be included in game as well. Additionally Fallout 76 has run "exclusive skin" events both in game and through Twitch prime (along with the NCR ranger armor from fallout 1st). Bethesda has outright refused to add these "exclusive skins" to the atomic shop for no reason. Benny's suit from fallout new vegas was included in one of these exclusive twitch prime bundles. I wasn't able to get it and the one time I'm willing to pay money for a cosmetic they refuse. They are locking in game content behind hurdles that shouldn't even exist. Now they have an upcoming season pass, which sounds a lot like a battle pass from fortnite. They even banned players who were making mods (not the cheating kind), reporting exploits, and even banned a player that made a map tool.

    Although this is a multiplayer game, you will be all by yourself most of the time. Honestly, this should have just been an expansion for fallout 4. All the problems with this game both in game and pr disaster make me not want to play it at all and I'm infuriated as I was pre-orderer and an original B.E.T.A tester. The game ran better at beta than it did at launch.

    Bethesda handled fallout 76 so poorly that I decided not to buy Doom Eternal (they added denuvo and screwed over Mick Gordon) so my suspicions were ultimately confirmed. I have no faith in bethesda at this point and currently have no intentions of buying Elder Scrolls 6.

    Also, Bethesda being stubborn and forcing players to use their terrible launcher was dumb, and they have since "corrected" this by putting it on steam. But guess what, atoms don't transfer to steam because screw you. At least they allowed some of their purchases to have a free copy on steam. (as if that would make up for all the other terrible things they've done)

    Players also wanted to have private servers, they wanted to host it themselves. Nope, you gotta pay bethesda to do it for you.

    This is $79.99 and many hours of my time and frustration I will never get back.    … Expand

    Game can give some fun for like 20 hours. Until lvl 20 it was pretty okay, after that everywhere I've moved I've encountered opponents on lvl +48 which absolutely blocked me with any progress in main quest and side stories. Great music and exploration as always but everything else like engine, design etc would be great when released in 2013.

    Not my type of game at all. I have completed all the previous iterations of the franchise and enjoyed every one. But not this. There are plenty of problems but for me the compulsory PvP is the killer. I play several online multiplayer games, none of which force PvP in the way that Fallout 76 does.

I just had to completely restart a dungeon because of a KNOWN glitch where a certain door won't open. This quest has been out for over a year.     Its bugy, i dont think it would even count as a fallout game, and bethesda didn't learn from their ancestors, Interplay did a similar think with Fallout Brotherhood of steel, made it a money making machine no one likes, but people still play it.

Что бы нормально играть и не париться, нужно купить пропуск, который стоит дороже игры, а покупаете вы его либо на месяц, либо на год. Сервера всё время лагают, квесты не работаю, мобы застревают в текстурах или под ними, приходится всё время либо перезаходить в игру, либо в локацию.     What an incredibly buggy mess. Even several years in the game feels like an early access title. Plus outrageous microtransactions. How sad that the gaming industry has fallen this far. Gaming used to be fun, but it's now nothing but battle passes and corporate greed. It's honestly toxic.

There are markers telling you where every person is on the entire world at all times and to "fight" you have to both walk over, shoot each other 1 time to challenge each other so there's no surprises or excitement possible, and only if both people do that can they start fighting.)

    The player-versus-environment experience is no better. There are zero NPCs in game other than a few vendor robots who stand still and do nothing much. The non-existent story is just some random text on computer consoles, like bad writing from the dregs of fanfiction dot net. Enemy AI is so bad that it can't escape the worthless story by being a good combat game. Enemies will run helplessly face-first into a tree for 5 minutes while you shoot their hand. Defense missions will never end because enemies are running into walls instead of even making it to the objective. I've never had one single engaging, difficult or fun fight in FO76. Every single one was either mindlessly easy, with auto-aim at the press of a button, a backpack of 30 instant heals and the AI that's too slow to ever catch a player who wants to just kite them or it was a tedious bullet-sponge affair where the enemy was still absolutely terrible but had 50,000 HP somehow because it's level 40. If I had infinite ammo, I could kill a level 100 enemy at level 1 in FO76 because the enemies are incapable of any real combat, the only thing they have is a big HP bar. The current game has worse combat than a free flash game on a shady adult website.

    Progression system is terrible just like every single other thing in this mess of a game. It feels like there's 3 total weapons if you theme a character (like revolvers, or rifles, or laser guns) so it's an MMO with nothing at all to actually do. None of my characters in actual good games such as borderlands 2 have ever felt like there were only three total weapons. Actual non-FO76 games have hundreds of weapons or variants with different stats. FO76 you just scrap 500 combat rifles and then click a few times to instantly get the one best combat rifle, so there's zero actual hunting and min-maxing for gear. Bethesda has no clue whatsoever how to actually make an MMO game. Like day 1 world of warcraft ten years ago actually had hunting for gear which FO76 lacks since you just get XP and make whatever item is wanted.

    There's no endgame at all. Once you have whichever of the three total rifles you want and have a full set of perks, you just have infinite money and nothing worth doing with it. The game is already lacking any difficulty at all, so there's no real cash-sinks to progress towards. There's no player economy with trading because the game has no items that people would want to buy. They can already beat everything with the basic crafted one.

    All the multiplayer really does in the game is mean that it's the only modern fallout game where bethesda's terrible game design, terrible programming and terrible art design cannot be modded into something enjoyable. Some companies like Creative Assembly are guilty of releasing bad games that they use steam workshop to have modders change into good games without being paid to do it. But bethesda has removed even that possibility, ensuring FO76 is 0/10 at launch and will never at any point become a good game in the future. It would require a complete rebuilding of the entire game engine and the entire economy and the entire combat system from the very ground up. The chances of that happening are zill. So this game feels like a disappointing ten dollar mod to Fallout 4. It is no surprise that very few people are happy if they were tricked into thinking it would be an actual video game.    … Expand

    Disgusting, horrible cashgrab by Bethesda. They are literally killing off everything that made TES and Fallout good. Furthermore, they are reusing the same 20yr old engine in 2018. Just bad, plain bad. Todd howard should be ashamed.

Though Bethesda is notorious for buggy installments within both their Elder Scrolls and Fallout Series this game takes the cake for not only being buggy to the point of inoperable but also a hollow uninspired take on what a multiplayer FalloutA broken misshapen abortion masquerading around as an actual complete video game is what you'll get by making the poor decision of buying this game.     This dumpster fire is blatant robbery. The entire game experience, as well as Bethesda's public reaction (or lack thereof), and their poor customer service regarding the matter have been so unpleasant and disappointing that I will not pay for any more of their products in the future. How far they have fallen smh.

    Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

    Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]
