    The sophistication and fluidity of the combat in this game is amazing. Doom 2016 is crap compare to this and any here claiming otherwise is blinded by nostalgia for that game lol.

    Downloaded and played the Doom previous to this one and its worth playing both, fun game where you can jam out and destroy and kill everything and if you want to make it difficult for yourself you can do that too.

    What epic game highly recommend. i know i don't have a lot of hours on PC version but that's because it kept crashing, but I beat it on PS4 and it worked perfectly fine.

    First of all, let me just start by saying the soundtrack on this game is AMAZING. The Best Soundtrack Award is there for a reason.

    An absolute blast from start to finish and one of the most polished games I've ever played. Visually stunning environments and animations. Immaculate pacing with just the right amount of puzzles/story/lore interspersed between sessions of heart-pounding    First of all, let me just start by saying the soundtrack on this game is AMAZING. The Best Soundtrack Award is there for a reason.

    An absolute blast from start to finish and one of the most polished games I've ever played. Visually stunning environments and animations. Immaculate pacing with just the right amount of puzzles/story/lore interspersed between sessions of heart-pounding action that is only enhanced by excellent use of the soundtrack. Challenging enough for every level to be an adrenaline-filled rush but not so difficult as to be frustrating. Same goes for the collectibles, bonus levels, etc — everything is compelling without being intrusive. I was also amazed at how well they managed to capture the spirit of the original DOOM games I played as a kid in a modern format. (For example, I never would have thought that in 2021 I'd be playing a shooter with no reload keybind, but somehow it just works.) Did I mention the game has a great soundtrack?

    The genre and thematic approach isn't for everyone, but even as someone as someone who typically prefers games with a lot more depth than DOOM has (story-driven RPGs, strategy games, stealth action-adventure, etc) I still loved it it from start to finish. It's easy to pick up and put down at a moment's notice whether you have 30 minutes or 4 hours to blast through hordes of demons.

    In a time filled with buggy, unfinished, forever-in-early-release, oversold and under-delivered games, it's refreshing to see one so refined and filled to the brim with attention to detail. Overall, an exquisitely crafted game and worth your hard-earned dollar even at full price.    … Expand

    Was battling a bunch of times demons many o' yall' been speaking of, and one of 'em just up an' clipped through that there wall. I got many a distracted, and whilst I was thinkin' of what had just happened to me, 7 demons came right on up to me and stabbed 89 times.

    Bethesda & id have done it again. They've managed to make an amazing sequel to Doom 2016 by building up on 2016 gameplay and adding more depth. The end result: one of the best shooters on the market, and one of the best shooters of the last 10 years.

    Doom Eternal is a 'game' in the purest sense like it has always been, it's about nothing more than going in and having a blast, few games have brought me fun like DOOM has as I've already completed the campaign, and I certainly will replay all of it very soon just because the core gameplay is so much fun!

    Massive action shooter that returned to the roots of classic - you run you kill you rip and tear. Hard day at work? Play this. Your friends left you? Play this on Nightmare. This game is sometimes like therapy session but with heavy weaponry and badass music.

    Extremely challenging and crushing on ultra violence and nightmare difficulty, but totally manageable and balanced if you know how to play properly. This game will have you spitting out your own teeth and bleeding from your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but you'll love every minute of it.

    DOOM Eternal makes DOOM 2016 seem like a game for toddlers. It's faster, harder and better. There are however complaints which I find overdramatic and strange: "This is not DOOM 2016", "No ammo for anything" or "Game restricts how you play". There are hints of truth in every complaint of course, but only if you do not look at the whole picture.

    Gameplay could not have been better. I have always hated playing shooters on harder difficulties, because that would warrant abandoning your balls for the sake of taking cover every second.     It's the raw cerebral intensity of Quake married with Doom's enemy roster and its violent, cathartic attitude. Enjoying this game requires a certain frame of mind, a certain willingness to push yourself and to think in the heat of the moment. But it's extremely rewarding if you meet it on its own terms.

    What an epic game. The soundtrack carries action pieces to greater heights and the ambience doesn't hold back punches either. A climbing ladder of constant challenge, new curve balls and constant learning results in a methodical, cheeky dance at the devils door, where everything in the audiovisual department is fuels a spectacle you create by sheer skill and prowess.

    Make sure to have a combat knife to shave with after every play session because you're gonna grow so much hair that you will be able to make a rope out of it to hang demons from the ceiling.

    As a sequel, Eternal is magnificent. It manages to expand without changing what made its predecessor awesome. DOOM’s core remains intact: the gory combat, bloody imagery, frantic pace, and super satisfying gunplay. What has changed is the coating. We’re presented with a new gameplay loop that builds upon that of DOOM 2016. Not everyone will like it, but I sure did!

    + Amazing soundtrack to accompany you through the whole campaign.
    + A nicely challenging video game, rare thing to say for a lot of 2020 titles.

    Negatives:
    - The game has loads of weapons and modifications for each of them. That would be overwhelming to most people I imagine, learning all of them is quite the task, so during my playthrough I used only a handful of them, which work with my playstyle.
    - Battlemode does not sound that interesting to me, sure you have other players with you, but the amount of demons you get during the campaign would be quite enough. That said I have not actually played it, as the campaign is what matters to me.
    - The "story" is more serious, so to speak, in this one, which doesn't appeal to me and I would imagine it won't appeal to others too. Doom has always been gameplay, AKA slay everything in your way and have as much fun as possible type of game for me.    … Expand

    Purists will say that the difference between this and the original Doom series is so wide that this blurs the boundaries of what game you can call Doom or not. But hear me on this, I DON'T CARE! This game is like Quake and Painkiller both better games than original Doom or **** tier Doom 3.

And Ive waited so long for games to look like advertised. Stand anywhere in Doom Eternal, stop and look around you. Look at the sky, the clouds, the floor. Look at the detail, design and layout.     Gameplay on the harder skills is tough as nails, you'll be swarmed by enemies and weapon switches can't come fast enough. Bind your weapons properly, it'll be fine, trust me. It reminds me of Serious Sam, Quake, Unreal Tournament 2004 all rolled into one.

    If you liked DOOM 2016, then DOOM Eternal is going to satisfy you. There's some slight differences and some new mechanics that make it feel more modern. While I prefer the old school style of DOOM 2016 for the simplicity, Eternal is still an amazing addition to the series.

    You must learn your ways with every weapon and move quickly and efficiently in every fight, or else, the demons will swarm and overwhelm you pretty easily. Dual shotguns won’t always be the best combo (sorry DOOM 2016 MP :P). Demons have different weaknesses and exploiting them is the easiest way to succeed. And even knowing all that, you’ll still need quick reflexes and some level ofYou must learn your ways with every weapon and move quickly and efficiently in every fight, or else, the demons will swarm and overwhelm you pretty easily.     To go in deeper, this game starts off regular into intense with a lot of enemy's, and you unlock new weapons and the game wants you to keep adapting and you feel like your getting stronger as you start defeating the larger enemy's in less time and then you get introduced to even bigger enemy's. Also, there are puzzles to solve kinda like a strand-type game with platforming and having power-ups like extra lives, and every enemy that you kill can rather give you an armor boost, more health, or even more ammo and more.     Outstanding game. Lots of action, AMAZING soundtrack, great artwork, the list goes on and on. Get the burning armor by the way. It looks sick af.

    An absolute beast of an fps game, fast paced, adrenaline rushed, and equally challenging all at the same time, im disappointed to not find other games that are as fast paced as doom eternal, cant even play doom 2016 now. as a long time doom fan, seeing their evolution, ID software has truly earned my respect. 50/10 recommend this game to everyone !

    Hands down, the best action, movement and feel for a shooter. One of the most awesome soundtracks. Solid gameplay with mechanics on glory kill==health, chainsaw==ammo, fast movement and different feeling on the various guns. Adding the crazy platforming and battle maps that revolve around movement and fast pace and you have the best action shooter    Best shooter I have ever played.

    Easily one of the best FPS I've ever played. Great visuals and performance. Information is communicated clearly to the player even in the most hectic of fights. The constant minding of cooldowns, weapon switching combos, target prioritization, ammo management and positioning makes my ADHD addled brain happy.

    Its a puzzle game, with guns.

    I feel like the flow of the game gets lost though if you play on anything below Ultra-Violence.

    I love Doom Franchise since i was a kid. This game is up there with the best games Doom 1 and 2.

    Every doom game is a gem and this is no exception. This doom offers some of the best boss-fights, a massive variety of demons, tons of unlockable and collectible content.

    I preordered this and just got around the finally playing it and... it deserved every cent of that preorder purchase price and then some. First game I've played through more than once in a long time.

    This was my first time playing a Doom game and I can't recommend it more! I'm def gonna be going back to play the other ones after this cause I had such a great time playing it.

    This game took me a little to really want to play it and it was kind of a late night playthrough but I just have to say this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome the gore the music the gun play the enemies there all amazing I just wanna say. get it get it now but maybe only at like 12 am.

    If you're looking for a deep and thought-provoking gaming experience that changes your outlook on life, look elsewhere. However, if you want a fast-paced, visceral shooter full of non-stop action and outrageous violence, you can't do better than Doom Eternal. If you liked 2016's offering you will love this follow up. It's a hell of a good time.

    Like Jason Statham’s character in Crank, Doom Eternal needs adrenaline every waking second. So long as you drown hordes of demons in their own blood, it feels like a perfect GOTY contender, but during quiet moments, Doom Eternal withers and forces you to ponder unpleasant questions. id Software needs to course-correct, otherwise we’ll be playing Super Doom Slayer’s Bros in a few years.
