    This game is action perfected. The feeling of getting smacked hard in arena is frustrating, but the satisfaction of finally conquering it, and see your improvement at the game mechanics is the greatest satisfaction I've had in a game.

    This is guest pass opinion. I have yet to buy game myself. It runs super smooth due to excellent optimization. Gameplay is fast and good. Graphics is very good, wish I could run on ultra, but that requires to be rich boi.

    Doom Eternal ist brutal, rücksichtslos, unbarmherzig und bedingungslos brillant. Ich hatte nicht erwartet, dass das Spiel so gut wird, und es hat mich von Anfang an umgehauen.     I got about 17 hours out of this game. 20 at the time of review because I wanted to go back and get all the "things"

    I also tried the MASTER levels - SUPER fun but *MAN* I wish this was Co-op....

    I did not try the multiplayer, nor will I ever.

    Look, if you like DOOM, this is a MUST HAVE.

    Nightmare difficulty is a treat on this one. Really great pacing and overall improvement over the last one. Highly recommend if you enjoy casual chaotic gameplay.

    Three things you clearly notice in this game:

    1-The sheer amount of noticeable invisible walls.

    2-Complimenting id for that Giant Demons Vista from the last game really went up in to their heads. Now they're EVERYWHERE!

    3-The amount of Quake enemies and sound fx. Wanna bet they'll release a Quake title soon?

    It definitely still is really exciting and adrenaline-inducing to play it. Even more so for people who can play it as it was meant to. Another important thing to note about DE’s gameplay is: you can’t play it like you’re braindead.

    One of the most well optimized games I've ever played! Always awesome to slay some demons. Beautiful world and character design. Only thing is even with the DLC its a bit short. Still a blast though!

    This game is great if you're willing to learn it. If you want to stick to play an overrated braindead shooters go ahead. Actually, don't even play DOOM games anymore if you'll act like that.

    This game is just brutal. It plays similar to previous doom games but has a much more polished feel to it. The scenery and graphics look amazing in Ultra Nightmare mode. The game is an impressive step from up the last Doom and is a exhilarating to play.

    Doom Eternal is about the perfect game when you want to just shut off your brain for a few hours and enjoy some music-driven demonic carnage. The scenery is amazing, the enemies are dynamic and interesting and there was even some room for a decent story.

    I'm mediocre at best with FPS games, which DOOM does a great job rubbing in my face. However, the way the checkpoints work, I can do a fight over and over again until I'm satisfied with how I managed to solve it. So if you're good at FPS games, you'll have plenty of opportunities to shine. If you're not but you have the fighting spirit for it then mission by mission you can claw forward.

    This game, for a relatively simple concept of "See demon, shoot demon", is absolutely fantastic. It's challenging, but gives an awesome feeling of accomplishment when you finally beat that one level.
    You just need to remember to KEEP MOVING. If you stand still, you're gonna get shot.

    One of the greatest games of our generation! They took a bunch of almost forgotten game mechanics from the 90's, then mashed it into an FPS game, and it works really well! It's also a DOOM game, part of one of the best franchises in Gaming history, so it's fast-paced, challenging, an fun.

    Highly recommend this to anyone.

    I used to be terrible at this game, a lot of deaths in Ultra-Violence. After practice, learning, and having a great time, finishing Ultra-Nightmare was fun. Events to keep players with fancy skins and other awesome stuff, gives this game more replayability.

    Oh man. This game is so good that I can't even... The bonus is that it runs extremely well on Linux and even a bit better than on Windows(like 5-15 and my gpu is not that hot which is weird?) at the time of writing this review.
    Do I recommend it? Yes, but be warned that Doom 2016 is going to feel so slow compared to Eternal.

    i usually like to post joke reviews but this game is to good for that there's so much depth to the combat, the movement is great, the guns feel fantastic, the environments look fantastic, and it is very very well optimized. on my GTX 1650 it runs at 80-120 FPS on high settings and 120-144 on low settings not to mention the game still looks great at low settings. The platforming is prettyi usually like to post joke reviews but this game is to good for that there's so much depth to the combat, the movement is great, the guns feel fantastic, the environments look fantastic, and it is very very well optimized. on my GTX 1650 it runs at 80-120 FPS on high settings and 120-144 on low settings not to mention the game still looks great at low settings. The platforming is pretty decent it's not amazing platforming but it's simple enough to never interrupt the pacing, it actually helps the pacing by working together with the exploration in between fights to give you something to do in between arenas rather than just walking. great game don't listen to the games journalists who claim it's boring.     Over the top yet strategic action with great weapons, music that gets you in the zone, ultra detailed and thoughtful demonic/futuristic/medieval environments with lots of secrets. Puzzles and platforming to breaks everything up nicely. It's just insane how good this game is.

    we love it so much.
    Solid FPS with great fun and amazing gfx.
    Im not a big fan on the multiplayer but this game it worth every penny.

    The only quarrels I have with the game are:
    1. The glory kills get repetitive over time.
    2. Occasionally you'll get cornered in some way that you can't really recover from, and the amount of health you have means you sit there panicking for about 15-30 seconds (depending on the situation) before you die.
    Aside from those 2, the game is amazing.

    Played a good 7 hours but from everything i saw and did it looked great and based off many videos the game is easily a 10/10 BUT. you HAVE to be aware that you need an up to date PC for this game. i had to refund it because i couldn't play past 15 frames. it is a very demanding game for PC hardware.

    The game itself on any difficulty is a gem. DOOM Eternal for me is tied with 2016, in my personal opinion its better in alot of ways too, but i know others hold 2016 closer to themselves. Its a HELL of a lot of fun in whatever mode you play having lots of different ways to play as well.

However, I feel that Doom Eternal is in general a much more challenging game. The action in this game never ends, and the music is fantastic. The visceral deaths feel so good in this game, and there are so many ways to kill your enemies. Weapon modifiers are wellI love the HELL out of this game. There are some aspects of the Doom immediately prior to this that I love. The simplicity. However, I feel that Doom Eternal is in general a much more challenging game. The action in this game never ends, and the music is fantastic. The visceral deaths feel so good in this game, and there are so many ways to kill your enemies. Weapon modifiers are well thought out and most of them are practical. Doesn't feel like your wasting your time upgrading your gear, and on top of that the game has weekly challenges keeps you coming back along with cheats that you can add to the game to change the pace of things.     - Another absolute banger. The base game has some really amazing tracks and even though the DLC music was composed by different people it all fits into the gameplay like no other.
    - The enemies. Every enemy has a place and a reason to exist on the chess board. Some are incredibly punishing like a carcass up close. Others are just fodder meant for ammo or armour. But they all fit    PROS
    - Another absolute banger. The base game has some really amazing tracks and even though the DLC music was composed by different people it all fits into the gameplay like no other.

    - The enemies. Every enemy has a place and a reason to exist on the chess board. Some are incredibly punishing like a carcass up close. Others are just fodder meant for ammo or armour. But they all fit beautifully into the Doom dance. Even the Marauder. Just watch Under The Mayo's video about him if you're unable to confidently figure out a way to get through him. He's nowhere near as bad as others have made him out to be.

    - The shooting. Every weapon is fun to shoot, responsive and impactful. Enemies are pulled apart with the new gore system and no weapon feels underwhelming or useless.

    - The controls. Doom guy controls wonderfully (especially when you get the rune to control yourself in mid air better) and zipping around the arena with your dash, swinging off poles and meathooking yourself into the air is incredible. The sense of speed never feels like too much.

    - The combat. On Nightmare the enemies are relentless. This is where the Doom dance shines. You will likely have to get used to quick switching weapons, constantly flame belching, ice bombing and glory killing to stay alive. In 2016 moving in 1 direction wouldn't result in much of a punishment. In Eternal you have to be moving in all directions to properly avoid being hit and I love it all the more for that. Using your chainsaw as an ammo refill was a neat little addition that I personally grew to love a lot along with the flame belch for armour refills.

    - The visuals. This game looks even better than 2016. The vistas are incredibly, textures are higher, enemies are designed to look more closely like their original sprites and the detail on them in terms of textures and animations is top notch.

    - The performance. No game performs like Doom does whilst looking this good. I've never had frame drops from too much happening on screen nor have I ever encountered slow downs from too many enemies spawning in at once. Truly remarkable how well this game runs. Playing this on ultra, at 144hz at 3440x1440 is amazing.

    CONS
    - The story unfolds in a very expository manner. Entire concepts that doom guy would already know about are spoken directly to the player instead of being shown or leaving that information to a codex for those who care to read about it.

    - The crashing. I have had several crashes throughout my time and have never been able to figure out why. At 1 stage I played about 16 hours without an issue (my first playthrough). Then I had about 4 different crashes over about 10 hours of gametime. Just recently I've been practicing some Ultra Nightmare runs and it hasn't crashed once. Its been very inconsistent.

    - As of 16 MAR 21 you will likely encounter issues with the bloodpunch and chainsaw. The bloodpunch will sometimes not activate at all or you'll have an enemy highlighted orange for a glory kill but you'll blood punch it instead. With the chainsaw you could be closer than you actually need to be but have the game not register the attack and flash "no target" or you'll get the same message flash up if you try using it against a demon thats in the middle of some animations. The latter instance is inconsistent in of itself though as I've managed to chainsaw many imps whilst they were leaping between platforms.

    - Ground attacks from certain enemies have a tendency to activate infinite tracking at times. I've had some attacks fall short as I dashed backwards. Others rounded corners and somehow followed me into the air. It doesn't happen often but its frustrating when it does.

    Great game was really fun. With that said I though marauders were going to be this game breaking tough enemy lol? The marauder isn't hard people, come on. There countless strategies to beat him on youtube. People are babies today.

    I doubt I could write anything that others haven't wrote before. The game is excellent. It is artistically and technically amazing. The music is so good I sometimes left the game running with sound on while doing something else, the main tracks and ambient background music will stay with you for years.     Ultra fast paced. Unparalleled violence.
    Only one word to describe that experience: D00M!

    On top of that, magnificent visuals. Excellent music. Hardcore sounds.
    Top fluent on ultra. Works perfectly with a controller so I can relax in the sofa while playing it.
    There is NO much relaxing game than Doom.

    If you're looking for a deep and thought-provoking gaming experience that changes your outlook on life, look elsewhere. However, if you want a fast-paced, visceral shooter full of non-stop action and outrageous violence, you can't do better than Doom Eternal. If you liked 2016's offering you will love this follow up. It's a hell of a good time.

    Like Jason Statham’s character in Crank, Doom Eternal needs adrenaline every waking second. So long as you drown hordes of demons in their own blood, it feels like a perfect GOTY contender, but during quiet moments, Doom Eternal withers and forces you to ponder unpleasant questions. id Software needs to course-correct, otherwise we’ll be playing Super Doom Slayer’s Bros in a few years.
