Core systems do not work, complete lack of endgame, "difficulty" is avoiding stuff on the floor, builder/spender system is awful and not fun, etc. Zero innovation.. they even had PoE as a reference point for what's become the ARPG standard and they massively underdelivered. PoE 2 will kill this game dead in its tracks

The Story is really good. Voice action also. Thats already it!

D1 and D2 was gold. Spent endless hours farming to reach Lvl 99.

The funny thing now is when i think about I even liked D3 more than D4 and thats really sad.

Diablo IV, the latest installment in this iconic series, has been far from the triumphant continuation many fans, myself included, hoped for. The game, which was once a beacon of fun and immersive gameplay, has, regrettably, devolved into a dreary, lackluster experience.

It's clear that a significant shift in development philosophy has taken place at Blizzard, and unfortunately, Diablo IV has borne the brunt of this drastic change. The game, once accessible and engrossing, has become overwhelmingly tedious due to a plethora of unwelcome changes made before the onset of Season 1.

Most jarringly, the experience gain has been dramatically curtailed, slowing the game down to a snail's pace and making it difficult for casual players to keep up. It seems that Blizzard, in an attempt to artificially extend the game's lifespan, has forgotten the core elements that once made Diablo a joy to play: the exhilarating thrill of leveling up, the intoxicating rush of discovering a new area, the sheer satisfaction of acquiring a coveted piece of loot.

In spite of the backlash, Blizzard has chosen to double down on these detrimental changes, rejecting the pleas of their player base. They have chosen to distract players with band-aid solutions rather than addressing the root issues that have stripped the game of its fun.

Moreover, Diablo IV is plagued by persistent quality-of-life issues that have long overstayed their welcome. The game, though a new addition to the franchise, is the fourth iteration of a well-established series. It's baffling how these basic issues were not resolved prior to development. Blizzard, with its vast experience and resources, should have foreseen and rectified these glaring deficiencies before even coding the game.

The most disheartening aspect of Diablo IV, however, lies in Blizzard's overarching business strategy. It's clear that the company, along with the development team's leadership, is pushing the game down a detrimental path. The strategic choices made for Diablo IV show a significant lack of understanding about what made the previous games successful and enjoyable.

Sadly, some players are in denial, holding on to the hope that Diablo IV can somehow live up to its illustrious lineage. But the truth is hard to ignore - Diablo IV is no longer the thrilling, captivating game we once eagerly anticipated. Instead, it's a clear testament to how a misguided development direction can lead a once-legendary franchise astray.

In closing, Diablo IV is a glaring misstep for Blizzard, a far cry from the vibrant, compelling gameplay that fans of the franchise have come to love and expect. Until the company reevaluates its strategy and listens to its players, it's hard to imagine the game regaining its former glory.

The lack of player experience features, a shallow season, and meaningful endgame overshadow the smooth game play and detailed graphics.

Pros: Best part about the game is the graphics of the environments; their artists did an amazing job. The campaign was good with an enjoyable story and included some very well done cut-scenes. Character combat is smooth. Cons: User experience:

Pros: Best part about the game is the graphics of the environments; their artists did an amazing job. The campaign was good with an enjoyable story and included some very well done cut-scenes. Character combat is smooth.

    Cons:
    User experience:
Item stat filter in the stash and backpack tabs. A player has to manually look through every aspect in their stash to find the one they are looking for.
Loot filter. The player has to manually look at every item when selling it.
Lack of stash tab space. Alts share this tab space. I can't roll an alt because I don't have room. Blizzard already learned the IMPORTANCE OF ALTS in WoW dragonflight...how was this mistake made!
Respec paragon is done point by point. Over 200 Paragon points to manually click through for a full reset.
Character teleports outside of the Nightmare dungeon instead of inside of it. This is an extra loading screen for no apparent reason.
Horse is slow without the boost charges. It gets caught on everything. Barriers block the horse.
Game breaking bugs. I can't obtain the season item required to summon the big baddy. Blizzards response was sorry we can't do anything, but the devs are looking into it. 3 weeks later still not fixed.

    Game features:
Tedious farm of renown makes new characters tedious again did Blizzard not learn from WoW Dragonflight and how important alts are.
There is no way to effectively trade items.
Uber uniques are virtually unobtainable and since there is no trade there is no way to work toward them.
Mob density is low in nightmare dungeons.
There is little reason to go into the massive and beautiful open world other than helltides.
Loot doesn't feel "Epic" after level 60. Upgrades are mostly minor stat upgrades.
The RNG of some aspects and uniques lead to cases were build defining items may never be found even all the way to level 100, and there is no way to trade for them.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Awesome looking game with almost no content to speak of. Main campain and story is somewhat ok, but there are literally no middle, or endgame activities just the dungeons and the tree quests. Feel of power and progress is subpar. Levelling is slow and extremely boring. Game mechanics are unfun and punishing. The loot is subpar, there is nothing noteworthy to grind for. The developers are disconnected from the community. Overall bad game design. The whole game is a big cash grab. In its current state it's not recommended. The old Blizzard is really dead now! The IP is beyond saving. Expand

    Audio 10/10
    As always.

    Cinematics 10/10
Easily the best part of the game when combined with the audio and the pretty graphics.

    Story 6/10
Same **** different color. That said, I really enjoyed the cinematics and they help really drive the story home. A higher score would be given if they really broke the mold here.

    Combat 0/10
Uninspired is the best I can put it. You will NOT get your God-fix here.

    Gameplay 3/10
Combat is boring AF and the rest... is just there for you to grind. While I am okay with this, it is just a bunch of tasks and collectibles and rarely add to the story or offer any fun game mechanics. I'd kill for some minigames or puzzle at this point, but we got Alters of Lilith instead.

Looting is also awful as most items that drop are completely useless with conflicting attributes for any synergy and Blizzard accomplished this by adding more attributes and just letting RNG ruin everything.

Quests were actually fun and enrich the story and experience.

    Social 1/10
It's supposed to feel like an MMO and it does this well. I love endless hack-n-slash dungeon crawlers with the ability to push the limits and go a little deeper each time to gain just a little power. But Diablo IV is now an MMO with endless tasks (not quests) to do and it feel less like a dungeon crawler.

    Graphics 8/10
Pretty but definitely just high-res Diablo stuff which is underwhelming. I'm also removing points for investing so much into the skins and horses meanwhile using said horse will cause massive lag.

    Technical 0/10
This is me being petty because the horses are lag factories & every time I find something I like about the game they patch it out. Favorite dungeon? Gone. Favorite skill? Nerfed. Favorite Attribute? Nerfed. Favorite boss fight? Reduced rewards. I know they gave that whole, "We'll never make a game altering mechanic like vulnerability again" speech, but I don't trust them.

    The good:
    Graphics
Gameplay/Combat the smoothness of it(Except the horse, the horse feels... well special)
Story was pretty decent, since most Arpgs are not really story driven.
    cutscenes were amazing.

    The bad
    Itemization
    Stash
    Stats
    Paragon board
    Horse
    Skill tree
    endgame
No trading, well there is rare trading, but who the hell really does that? gotta be the minority

Feels so bad to have a game that removes any kind of chances to fail and only wants you to succeed.
If there is no way to fail, why should successes ever feel great?
And with them praising the amount of customization option you have, it sure feels limiting and hand held.
At no point in my play-through both in none season and in season did i feel unique and special, at no point did i feel like i found an item which made me go "oh my god, i want to switch build or create a new class to try this out."

I guess this is just how it is these days with most studios, they develop with money in mind, instead of creating a masterpiece, that will still generate lots of money and most importantly, make them popular, which makes people eager to see their next big thing.
Blizzard sure has been on a downwards trend since activision brought them.

Diablo 2 expanded on some things, added some other things, and it was an even better game, improving the formula of the first one. Diablo 3 was dumpster fire all the way till the reaper of souls, when it continued to be a dumpster, but somehow blizzard put out the fire... it stinks less but its still garbage.

Diablo 4 only has 2 things from the original games, the diablo look and feel that's about it. It looks like diablo, sounds like diablo but it doesnt play like diablo in any way. The excess of sufixes, the crap loot, the bad storage, the rubber banding, the bad patches, the boring and repetitive WE, the crap dungeons that are always the "same".

The dungeons are always about one of these things, and are divided in two halfs, in which you have to do the same crap all over and over game. It's always a mix of something like: slay all enemies open a door that was sealed, then get some crapy items ( 1 or 2, or even 3 or 4 ) to unseal another door ( among other things like free 6 prisioners or whatever, etc. Its always a random 2 things to do on every dungeon, repetitve, boring and unfulfilling.

The paragon points and hability points system are bad, but it could be worse i guess.

For a game that the main focus is item looting, the lack of decent storage, the non stackable hearts for the current season that just fill out the very limited storage its just appaling... how the heck did they think this would be ok?

So basicly diablo 4 is a empty husk of a game and, and tbh i had already decided that this would be the last game i would spend money on from blizzard, unless it proved me wrong by actually being a good game, which it isnt.

If like me, youre looking for a good rpg to play, look somewhere else, diablo 4 is not worth anyones money, and honestly, i dont like to pay to be a beta tester, because thats what everyone playing diablo 4 is, do not make the same mistake i did and many others, and stay away from blizzard, since they are killing their franchises left and right just to line up their pockets with your hard earned cash.

Act 1 story feels disjointed and isnt exciting at all, having to collect renown doesn't belong here in Diablo either. The statues are meh, really more of a distraction. All the defenders say the game gets good at endgame, I don't play endgame in Diablo, seasons dont do it for me. I enjoyed D3's campaign enough to go through it on all classes and it had seasons. For $120 the game should be good from the moment I create my first character. They charge a premium for the game and then try and lure you into micro transactions with xmogs and season passes. For me, Blizzard has gone from company that used to output great high quality games that you knew were going to be good to a business that wants to harvest as much coin off of their decade's old player base. Sorry Blizz but if you want to keep you loyal players, go back to the old way of making games. Games that have substance and not microtransactions, back to having actual engaging story to make the character feel invested, not the so far predictable drivel that is in D4. Go back to designing games and story in the way that built your loyal player base, but I fear that you are too far gone. Expand

However, Diablo's strong suit has always been the end game content, the power fantasy that you grind your character for which the game fails at so hard.

End game lacks content, not enough number of unique items, not that they help with meta builds either. You have to switch your build to a useless one to get benefit from them.
    Set items non-existent.

They even slowed down the progress in Season 1 and didn't make necessary changes to balance/buff the weak classes such as Sorceress. They even nerfed Sorcerss in Season 1....

Most of the builds are useless if you do not choose the meta.
Server problems; towns and some outdoor areas gets really laggy sometimes.

Neverending grinding with not worthy at all rewards.
Almost every mob has an annoying exploding mechanic and cc without diminishing returns...
It seems some incompetent/lazy idiots who have no idea about how to make a Diablo game, at Blizzard thought it would be fun and challenge...

You die a lot in nightmare dungeons, especially after level 40...
In short, end game content just does not worth your time, doesn't reward you enough to make the grinding feasible.
I believe the Season 2 will be even more boring.

Blizzard is not the same company we loved as in our childhood years, they've ruined wow, warcraft 3 reforged, overwatch and now diablo.

Great job guys, you've become a true master at hiring retards as developers to ruin your most praised IPs, keep going...
The prize should go to management team though since they are the ones with the ropes on their hands...

Once the main story is finished, the game starts getting dull quickly. Pool balance and gears are hard to obtain for the build, definitely have no motivation to try a new build. Not even motion the **** game experience, painful mazes, tinny carry capacity. The most expensive game I bought and the fastest game I quit, not even worth 1/10 of the money spent.

A complete downgrade from D3 (after the D3 AH was removed at least). It's a long slog to have to do all side quests, dungeons, find statues and explore every single cm of the map to earn renown for paragon points, and after the main story there's literally nothing to do except the tree chores, or running the same dungeons over and over again in the hope of finding some loot. The class I played, sorcerer, was incredibly weak, and dull to play. There's no variety in events, only a few types of mob, same assets used in all areas. Just a weak effort from the formerly great company, now no more than a name in Activision's stable. All the talent left Blizzard, and it shows. Absolutely not worth the £90 I paid. There are indie games at £5 that have better longevity, and are more fun to play. Expand

They spoil the entire story in the opening cinematic by telling you how it ends. Then you just chase Lilith around the entire game, always a step behind. Your character sees her in the flesh once at the end of Act 2 and the only other time your character meets Lilith is when you kill her.

Beyond that, there is literally no endgame. There are like 50 dungeons that you do in World Tier 1 at Level 1. And the "endgame" is running those exact same dungeons at a higher level.

I'd much rather have the greater rifts from diablo 3 than these. The level scaling in the game feels absolutely horrible and it's like the game does not want to make you feel any significant progression. If you grind xp to level up, you generally will fall behind. Like the people who powerleveled up to 100, but had to be carried by lower level characters to get gear so they could actually do anything. I feel like they think they gave the players more freedom by having the game being open world, but since the open world content is still level gated that still doesn't work out, and you still can't play with friends easily without hampering your own progress by downgrading your world tier. The game really wows you with the huge map, but that wears off pretty fast when you see how generic it is. The loot grind feels awful, the XP grinding is way too slow, and they just killed the ability to power level your friends so you can play together easily. I waited with making a review until the season 1 patch because I hoped things would improve, but these patch notes just killed any hype I had left for the game.

You have to play this game the way Blizzard wants you to play the game, not the way you want to play the game. I fully expect I may be in the minority feelingt his way though

Diablo 4 - A Journey of Potential Dimmed by Missed Opportunities

In the realm of action RPGs, the Diablo franchise has always held a legendary status. Thus, the arrival of Diablo 4 brought with it an air of anticipation, a hope that this installment would maintain the engaging and exciting standards set by its predecessors. Regrettably, however, while there are a few commendable aspects, the game largely feels like a shadow of what it could have been.

Firstly, Diablo 4 does an admirable job with its story, even though it's quite brief. The narrative weaves a gripping tale of demonic intrigue that serves as a compelling backdrop for your quest. The graphics, too, are worthy of mention, being both pleasing to the eye and comfortably accessible to a wide range of system specs.

However, the merits of the game are sorely outmatched by its drawbacks. The most glaring issue lies with the absence of a true endgame. After reaching level 100, there's little to keep players invested, with a noticeable lack of incentivizing progression factors.

The gameplay, while initially captivating, begins to feel monotonous as you proceed, suffering from a high degree of repetition. Furthermore, the lack of build diversity is a major disappointment. The constraints placed on the development of paragon gems further this problem, stifling creativity and variety in character development.

The absence of a player search feature for co-op experiences such as dungeons or world bosses hampers the social aspect of the game, which was a pivotal part of past iterations. Moreover, the low cap on stones, combined with the restrictive inventory space, results in frequent, frustrating interruptions to gameplay as you manage your inventory.

The game's perspective, too, leaves much to be desired. The zoomed-in view restricts vision compared to previous titles, making the gameplay feel uncomfortably claustrophobic at times. Add to this a host of bugs - with lagging and troublesome mount movement chief among them - and it's clear that Diablo 4 could use substantial improvements.

As for the seasonal approach that Blizzard has taken with new features, it discourages play outside of these periods, effectively alienating those who aren't interested in seasonal gameplay. The notorious 1.1 patch only exacerbates these issues, delivering arguably one of the worst update experiences in gaming history with across-the-board nerfs and decisions that confound logic.

In conclusion, Diablo 4 seems to have stumbled significantly in its quest to continue the legacy of its forebears. While its engaging storyline and impressive graphics provide a glimmer of what might have been, the numerous issues and missed opportunities present a significant hurdle that may prove too high for even the most dedicated fans to overcome. The hope now lies with Blizzard to address these problems and help Diablo 4 achieve its potential.

Most of the people i played with were not at level 100 when season 1 started some of which played every day and were only level 85-90, and that includes multiple sessions of party co-op, nightmare dungeons and helltide events.

Then, blizzard decided to nerf the xp which was already an issue in my opinion. I don't have unlimited time to play the game nor do i want to play this game exclusively. According to d4armory, I had more than 3 days played or 72 hours before or at level 60-ish. I can't check now because battle net is down as i am writing this.

There have been a few network issues since launch, which I won't blame blizzard for too much, but network delay seems to affect the player and enemies/creatures/npcs in a different way. the game doesn't slow down for both player and creatures, the player character starts to glitch and teleport or stand still but the monsters keep there pace which leads to unresponsive game play and deaths when the server is not cooperative or being DDOS-ed.

Technical performance: Awful. Plagued with VRAM issues still even after alleged hotfixes, minimum requirements are understated

Gameplay: Conflicting visions here are causing a lot of turmoil in the community. Do they want slower more strategic gameplay or do they want a fast paced power fantasy with a ton of synergies that explode entire maps? You'll find both depending on what class you pick and what you build with it. Warning: The game doesn't accommodate the slow way, until they decide to nerf monster density, which causes a conflict with the michael bay players. They'll nerf many things without any kind of second order thinking or any insight as to what was causing problematic metrics in their systems. There's just a total lack of cohesion here, I feel like there's no communication between teams at Blizzard and/or a really apathetic person responsible for overseeing decisions. The balance between classes re: the seasonal mechanic is non-existent. One class's "caged hearts" (special socketable maguffins that do fancy stuff) lets them play the game AFK. Another class's caged hearts come with barriers that they don't generate to begin with or that grant them resistances that are mathematically broken (by blizzard's own admission). Actually, quite a number of things are broken mathematically.
Who thought it was a good idea to make a multiplicative damage bucket? And then wonder why people want that multiplicative damage+ affix over all others? Was anyone home when this decision was made?

What you chase in your gameplay loop is a minor smattering of items, a fraction of what's available in other Diablo iterations, So naturally people are tired of finding the same items over and over again. And consequently the team at blizzard makes it harder for you to find those same items over and over again. MIMS.

Overall blizzard needs to pick a vision and stick to it. I think that would be step one to avoid insulting players who felt like they've paid 70+euros for amateur hour. Like it's shocking, once you have more insight to the game, you realize just how poor quality it is. The pricing is actually offensive in its audacity.

One shots are not fun, there's no sense accomplishment from nearing death only to just be able to overcome the battle.

I persisted with the barbarian as I enjoyed the class despite them being nerfed to death since launch, barely hitting for 1 million crits as a whirlwind barb while the necro hits for 1.8billion, but now after the latest patch I don't see the point in continuing with my eternal character as the cost to respec is far too expensive.

I spent around 10 million to respec from a solid whirlwind build to HOTA as I heard they were better for lillith, only to have the class destroyed.

It's disappointing to work full time but manage to spend over 100 hours on one character as a casual player in hopes of beating the final boss and getting the platinum trophy, but still not be able to defeat the final boss because of dumb one shot mechanics.

Meanwhile streamers and non-casual gamers are offering real money and in game money to carry players through the final fight. What the actual ****

Third, I find the game play very slow, waiting for resources and cool downs is externally annoying and disrupts the game flow. Sure I'm only lvl 70-ish and you can farm better gear but that will take a lot of time and I wouldn't recommend this game for "casual" players. Do not think you'll find the progress fast enough. Never been so unhappy with a purchase, and going forward will not be purchasing Blizzard/Activision games. Below is a list in no particular order of things I'm not happy about:
    Price (70+) - For reference, Baldur's gate 3 released at $60
Itemization - Wayy too many useless stats with too specific requirements to utilize
Getting one shot too often: My partner gets one shot wayyy too often on Barbarian. Only reason I survive is keeping my distance on Necromancer and making my pets tank.
The huge nerf: Contributes to above issue, and has made killing bosses take far more time than necessary. Post survivability nerfs, my necromancer feels even more like a glass cannon
Drop rates: Season 1 has quests to complete which require you to get an item with a 3% drop rate from a crafted box item, that had no other way to acquire it until a recent hotfix basically letting everyone know they had the drop rate at 3% and bumped it up to 15%. Absolutely no reason for that low of a drop rate to begin with. Absolutely a huge middle finger to their players.
Legendaries: I feel no happiness from finding legendary drops anymore. They have turned into aspects only and nothing really special about them anymore. The aspects just take up so much space.
No real crafting: Can craft potions and some of the seasonal mechanic items. No gear crafting
Price of premium currency: Intentionally set the price point so you either have to buy 2 of a cheaper pack and have too much currency, or 1 of a more expensive pack and... still have leftover currency with no way to use it (nothing cheap enough)
Season pass doesn't provide enough premium currency to purchase next pass. Actually doesn't provide you enough to do much of anything with.
Performance: Servers still feel Beta quality with lots of rubberbanding unless I play at non-peak times to avoid this.
Horses: Still bugged where if I mount my horse in town and exit town, more often than not I can't use my speed boost (bugged out). Have to dismount the horse and wait 10 seconds, then mount again. Also 10 second wait to mount horse again or 30 seconds if you get hit too much and knocked off.
Uniques: Only found 1 that was good enough to use. The rest seem somewhat uninspired and underwhelming
Skills: Skills feel underwhelming, and the modifiers you can level up for a skill feel like they could have just been folded into the skill and provide the bonuses as you level a skill up. The modifiers should have let you change the skill like in Diablo 3 where I can turn say Spirit Barrage from a channeled attack to an AOE, or to a summon type skill to suit my build and play style.
Leveling: Takes so long for no reason except to extend game time. Recently played Diablo 3 again and I can get from 1-70 in a single day. Maybe find a happy medium between a single day and the current slog fest. They even nerfed the ability to power level your friends just to make it take even longer.
Almost every change since Season 1 has been designed to extend the time it takes to accomplish anything. Before Season 1, it wasn't the best, but it's gone considerably downhill.

This is my review after quiting the game after the most recent patch. I have a min maxed level 100 Barb that has cleared uber Lilith and NM 82.

I started D4 as a whirlwind BB. Thanks to the content creater Rob he used this class as the first to get to level 100. Blizzard saw this decided to nerf it into the ground including it's only decent unique Gohrs gauntlets. I wasn't happy at my class being nerffed but I was not in end game yet so the WW class was still viable but the cooldown reductions resulted in gameplay of having to wait around until shouts come back up before I can damage mobs again which is not fun. A class should not have to rely on cooldowns before you do damage again. When I got to level 68 I decided to do the capstone early as I wanted to get into WT4 as soon as possible. This was the hardest challenge the game had to offer so far as I was 5 levels under the recommended level. I died allot to this capstone but managed to clear it and moved into WT4. My Reward for doing this finding out that Ancesteral items will not start showing until I reach level 73. So I had just wasted my time and had to level another 5 times before I could start actually getting ancestral gear from this WT. I levelled to 100 prior to the xp buffs. This was an extremley tedious task. What makes it tedious is the end game content is non existant. I forced myself to level to 100 so that I could take on uber Lilith. So I go up agaisnt uber Lilith with a fully min maxed WW barb and I can't do any damage to her at all. I then see videos of other classes that are able to melt her in seconds with huge damage numbers. This is the point I realised Blizzard had totally ruined the WW class and made it fully reduntant at the most difficult end game content. I was ready to quit at this stage but since it would not require much gear/aspect change I decided to switch to HOTA. This actually rekindled my enthusiasim for the game. I was having allot of fun running NM and seeing those big crit numbers. Seeing a 30 million crit was something I never saw on WW barb. WW barb I would very occasionally see 2 million damage. HOTA allowed me to go back and I was able to beat Lilith. I was also able to push to NM 82. I wasn't excatly excicted for season 1 but I was going to give it a shot since I had got the battle pass version of the game. Then the latest patch comes out and HOTA is given the WW treatment. My damage output is more or less halfed or worse. I allowed my time to be wasted once with investing into WW but when it happens a second time I do not allow a third chance. I value my time I refuse to invest any more time into a class/build that will be ruined by Blizzard. Barbarian is a dead class. I have uninstalled the game.

TARGET AUDIENCE: CASUALS. Blizzard pumped allot of money into the marketing getting idiots like Megan Fox to promote the game. They have tried to reach a much wider audience of players and it has worked. This has resulted in us getting an extremeley easy game with bosses that have braindead mechanincs and a game that takes no risks.

ITEMS/GEAR: Legendaries are just items to rip aspects off. They have no other use apart from selling for money or breaking down for mats. Out of all my play time I think 1 legendary dropped that had the correct aspect and rolls where I can actually equip it. All the rest just get sold or have the aspect removed and stuck on a yellow. I think this system is terrible. It removes all the excitement of getting a Legendary item.
The cost of rerolling increasing every time is an absolute joke and pointless. I only re reroll perfect 3/4 stat items. It can take a very long time for one of these items to drop. Especially amulets and rings etc. For you to then get shafted by gold price for a re roll going up and up. I have a ring on 33 million a re roll. There should be a cap for re roll price.
Uber uniques are pointless. What does adding items that have a 1 in 5 million hour drop chance add to the game ? You would need to be reincarnated 5 times and live 80+ years on all those 5 lifes and play D4 24 hours a day for a chance of a drop. Basically these are non atainable items. Their purpose is for players to think they have a chance to get them but they wil never drop. Uber uniques are a cash shop mechanic. More players playing more chance spend in shop. They are a carrot on a stick for idiots.

END GAME: D4 biggest problem as it does not exist.
You kill the same 3 world bosses that have braindead mechanics. They die in seconds.
You run the same repetitive NM dunegons and kill the same braindead bosses over and over. There is also a serious lack of bosses. They become repetitive very fast and offer no challenge.
D4 is halfcooked when it comes to end game. That is why they are nerffing xp again. They want to slow all progress to the end game as there is nothing to do when you get there.

An Absolute Disaster: A Patch That Ruined the Game

Where do I even begin with this so-called "patch"? It's an absolute train wreck that's left the game in shambles. I can't believe developers had the audacity to release this disaster to the players. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

First of all, the patch was supposed to address bugs and improve gameplay, but it somehow managed to introduce even more issues. The game is now plagued with glitches and errors that make it almost unplayable. It's like the developers didn't even bother testing it before pushing it out to the public.

And let's talk about the supposed "balance changes" they made. Instead of creating a more enjoyable experience, they've ruined the game's core mechanics. Classes that were once balanced are now overpowered or useless. It's clear the developers have no clue about game design, and they've destroyed the delicate equilibrium that made the game fun.

But that's not all. The patch also brought with it a slew of microtransactions and pay-to-win features. It's evident that the developers care more about squeezing money out of their players than providing a quality gaming experience. Greed has triumphed over integrity, and it's a disgrace.

The communication from the development team has been abysmal. They ignored the community's feedback and released this travesty of a patch without any consideration for the players. They've shown a complete lack of respect for their loyal fanbase, and it's a slap in the face to all of us who have supported the game since day one.

I've invested hundreds of hours into this game, and this patch has made me regret every single minute. It's heart-wrenching to see a game I once loved reduced to this pathetic state. I wouldn't recommend anyone to touch this game with a ten-foot pole until the developers fix the mess they've created.

In conclusion, this patch is a colossal failure on every level. It's a disgrace to the gaming industry and a blatant disregard for the players who have supported the game. The developers should be ashamed of themselves for releasing such a monstrosity. Save your time and money, and stay far away from this broken mess.

This game is early access at best, there is no PTR, players just need to suffer in this game at the expense of their incompetence. The online (mmo) aspect is a gimmick, you still play alone, it doesn't matter, no body gives a **** it just adds rubber banding because even though WoW comes from the same studio they can't manage to sync players correctly. Since the original patches everyone I joined with abandoned it. Given we spent about 100 Euros each on it, we were motivated to give it a fair shot.

They made characters feel weak and powerless, nerfing many end game charateristics and build while at the same time making the broken and frustrating loot system worse. So, where you would normally automatically change build, though it is painful, you cannot as they are totally gear dependant and the loot you need will never drop. I am have a lvl 77 druid and it is miserable to play at this point.

But the core game just doesnt exist. There is literally no depth. They did nothing but mimic D3 in an extremely flawed way. Making it not only pure repetition, but totally frustrating and unrewarding. I got to the point of playing while listening to audio books and with the last patch, just gave up entirely as they made it worse and worse.

I hear microsoft are buying Blizzard. I normally would not wish that fate on an enemy. But it somehow seems like a fitting punishment for a game company that lost all their best people, flirted heavily with woke and are now inevtiably, destined to go broke.

I'm 40 years old, I've been playing video games since I was a kid. I love Diablo 1 I love Diablo 2. Diablo 4 looks and works great but is weak in the most important aspects. Weak items, no motivation to play. I'm going back to Diablo 2 Resurrected. 3/10

Just shows how out of touch the Diablo 4 leadership are. After the preseason the game has become bland and feels like a chore to play. After watching the POE2 showcase and comparing the gameplay with D4 I have to say POE2 is way out of D4's league.

During the campfire live stream the leadership played the ignorant card and said it wasn't there intention to do those changes yet it took a look of planning and coding to implement that dog **** patch. None of the people in charge of making all these stupid decisions in the game actually play the game in their own time.

patch 1.1 notes: Increasing mystery chests in Helltides from 175 to 250 cinders, while the rewards were already lacklustre. Swinging the nerf bat at the builds that were actually fun.

You finally have your build together, you start cruising more and more like a sportscar, Blizzard says "no", and puts you in a 60 year old discarded car..., and now try to have the same fun again. That, or

That, or you can always respecc ofcourse; which is tedious AF, by having to click all the seperate nodes, and spending millions of ingame gold. Now you got that covered; ofcourse all the gear you spend gold on is worthless, as specific things like crit and vulnerable are nerfed to hell and back again. Go and grind that new gear; but we made the options of farming gear way slower. Blizzard, you've killed your own game and you know it.

What kind of game it will be when its designers do not play their own game. When you put everything in one game but master nothing, it is just a huge piece of crap. But nothing else. The end game is now even worse than Diablo 3. You have more than 100 dungeons, but most of them are quite the same thing. And you have to carry chests and search for keys when you just want to MF. Meanwhile, you have to wait for certain time for events when you just want to relax after working for a whole day. The worst of all, the designers will always nerf everything players found to be efficient, because they think it is cooooooooool. Expand

I really wanted to like this game, but it felt flat, it felt bland, no passion from the devs, I have played hundreds of hours of Diablo 1, 2 and 3, repeating their campaigns over and over, and never felt bored, Diablo 4 even though felt as part of the game franchise, it lacked a lot of the flame that had all the previous Diablos, it lacked personality and lacked purpose, it felt for theI really wanted to like this game, but it felt flat, it felt bland, no passion from the devs, I have played hundreds of hours of Diablo 1, 2 and 3, repeating their campaigns over and over, and never felt bored, Diablo 4 even though felt as part of the game franchise, it lacked a lot of the flame that had all the previous Diablos, it lacked personality and lacked purpose, it felt for the entire game as a forced experience.
After I finished the campaign, I felt uninspired and not engaged into continuing playing, there is no reason to keep playing as there was on the previous games, the entire open world felt empty, half of the missions feel absolutely meaningless, the devs not just made me waste 70 dollars, they decided it was a brilliant idea to put inside their full priced 70 dollar game a paid premium shop and a paid premium battle pass, I literally feel like Blizzard is squeezing me for my money and I feel as I got nothing in return, I wish I could had got a refund because it was absolutely NOT worth my money, it was one of the most unsatisfactory and unwelcome game experience since I played Diablo Immortal, another terrible release IP of Blizzard, it is really sad to see what they did to Diablo franchise, it is a no return train to deception to the fan base, and the entire experience feels empty, these are no longer games for the players, Diablo 4 was not made for you nor for Diablo fan base in mind, and Diablo 4 is a fine example of predatory game company degeneracy and its truly insulting to all of us who have been following to this franchise for so long, Diablo 4 for sure was what the Diablo franchise needed to completely prove to their Diablo fanbase that the franchise is dead, what is left behind is a rotten corpse of a game that pretends to be Diablo, but its nothing more than a money grab machine.

Gear is bad, most unique are useless so you end up disappointed when they drop most of the time, uber unique might be the worst idea blizzard ever had (and i've been playing wow for the past 15years, that says something, even titanforge was better), basically a carrot you keep running after but you know you can't reach it, (1drop in 5Milllions hours of gameplay average). If you want to play this game, don't. If you play it already just give it up, only way to force blizzard's hand into making actual decent games, Expand

This game could have been great, but bad design choices forcing long play times for relatively no reward, no workable goals, loot drops that are rarer than winning the lottery, nerfs that make everyone feel like they wasted their time with their builds, limited storage space, alt unfriendly design, and poorly optimized gameplay hold it back. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

It’s almost like Diablo 4 developers are consciously fighting against everything that made classic Diablo fun. [Issue#262, p.80]

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.

The best Blizzard launch in a long time and a worthy game to be called Diablo.
