    As July 19 the game is repetitive, boring, grindy and just not fun anymore. Corpo killed it by greed!

    They gutted how the game feels and plays in the 1.1 patch. Everybodies damage has been reduced, everybodies survivability has been reduced (without fixing the resistance bug yet) and worst of all, COOLDOWN REDUCTION WAS NERFED. Horrible decision by blizzard, what a joke of a patch.

    Horrible. You cant even compare this game with Diablo1 and Diablo2. Its a game for 10y kids, which never played any game. Dark or horror mood not found.

    Patch 1.1 ruined any hype there was for season 1. I’ll come back in a few seasons to see if anything’s changed. I don’t understand why Blizzard doesn’t want people to have fun. It’s kind of the point of a video game

    Devs dropped a patch two days before season one that significantly nerfed players, made monsters tougher, and significantly lowered xp making it a tedious grind to level. They killed season one before it even got a chance.
    There is absolutely no point in playing once the quests are completed. Unless you just want to run the same content over, and over, and over. The devs borked the enchanting system recently so that it's even harder to get the gear with rolls you want. This game is definitely not worth the price.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I started this game out fresh without ever playing any Diablo games before. I played the beta and it was really good, nice graphics, sound, gameplay. This game as it stands right now is being castrated by the developers with horrible updates, and nerfs that aren’t needed. This so called game review bombing here isn’t that, it’s legitimate reviews by users.. This game is deserving of that because honestly it’s pretty bad now. Imagine me (Sorc) spending hundreds of hours in the game finding a build that works half decent. The Sorc btw is already the weakest class and lowest survival rate in the entire game.. So with the updates they nerf this class into the ground making it way worse and completely useless and also my hundreds of hours a complete waste of time and my life.

    I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone with how the devs handle updates and keep ruining the game for everyone. You won’t be able to build a character to keep without them ruining your build with huge nerfs. For example spend 100 hours building a class.. few weeks later it’s nerfed into oblivion.. now start over and over.. this games a complete waste of time, money, and overall happiness.    … Expand

I was pissed with the season 1 update, but I said heck with it ill keep playing, I made it to lvl 83 while working a full time job, POST season 1 patch. Leveling feels TERRIBLE.

    Why don't you make an honest report of the % of builds running the caged heart of the barber that are above lvl 70.

I tried my hardest to find fun in this game, but after some 5 or so COMPLETELY DEVOID OF FUN hours, I gave up. This "game" is a digital chore dispenser / walking simulator hybrid. I hate everything about it (except the graphics and art style, but that doesn't warrant a score on its own imo). I consider this to be my biggest waste of money in a long time. i got ZERO value from it. In my honest opinion, this series has had a constant downhill progression. Which means yes, I think diablo 3 is better than 4. It's that bad.

    btw, this review is completely unrelated to season 1 or any patch, as that doesn't concern me in the least since i've long quit this game. this is my genuine feelings towards the base game itself.    … Expand

    I started playing as a Sorc, and after the patch on 7-18 I lost all interest in playing. There are some good parts to this game, but the developers vision is so far off base I would avoid the game until it gets better.

    They made the game much worse with 1.1.0 and its now pointless to play the game.

    Season 1 is not impressive in any way shape or form.

    They say they are going to buff some things and say they dont want to slow things down, but we all know they are lying.

    According to Blizzard 9000 people worked on this game.

    Blizzard has never heard of the "dead-sea" effect and proudly announces their absolutely bloated process. The dead-sea effect is truly showing. I give it a 1 for nice looking graphics.

    Battlepass model and store are really bad. Season 1 has had a really bad start as well. Dev team just not driven by passion for games, only greed.

    They gutted alot of the builds that were alreaddy lacking in the latest patch. Made mobs harder. Experience for levels are slower to get. Rewards for doing things are lower. Pretty ratchet.

    The game would be good if it didn't randomly go offline half the time. The story is generally good, the gameplay is fine. I miss random map generation. I think it has less charm overall than the previous diablos. It was a huge mistake that they made it online only as they can't seem to keep the servers up. Its a shame blizzard, one of the absolute power houses of the olden days, is no longer innovative or interesting in its game design. They think releasing a broken mess is acceptable. I'm also disappointed that they seemed not to optomise it at all for various platforms. For example i have it on xbox series x, they could have made it with no loading times when going into a dungeon or back out very easily, but just didn't even try. No use of the rumble feature of the controller or anything either. Blizzard has gone from being my favorite game company from around 20 years to 10 years ago, now its mediocre on a good day!… Expand

    Always online so can't pause. As soon as you want to afk, some enemy comes out of nowhere and kills you. Fairly buggy. Boring endgame.

    they took this grindfest and made it grindier for less rewards. unless you are a no life streamer you will never reach endgame and if you are a no life streamer, you will still be disappointed when you reach endgame

    Unfortunately, they have missed the mark with D4. The developers and company remain out of touch. There is clear feedback that has been given across all stages that has been ultimately ignored. I do not believe they are capable to fix the glaring issues within their own game, they attempt numerical nerfs instead of drilling down to the root of the issues and ruining the gameplay experienceUnfortunately, they have missed the mark with D4.     Way to take a game with such potential and completely destroy any chance of enjoyment with the last patch notes. Un-installing and heading over to PoE or anything that's not Blizzard. Done with this crappy company that only cares about profit and craps on its own consumers every chance it gets.
    Great job ruining everything in one update.

    The developers are actively trying to ruin all the fun out of the game. Completely detached from the playerbase. The new patch is the worse I have ever seen in a PC game. I am done with Diablo 4.

"Lets fix a sluggish repetitive gameplay by making characters hit for less, take more dmg from mobs and earn less xp across the board, that'll extend gameplay! Oh people are complaining sorc are weak? Hold my beer while I nerf it some more. Previously, the dev responded to the season controversy of new diablo players by responding with "don't worry your character can still be played on the eternal realm" only to turn around and make it so it's unplayable just before the season starts.     While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
