    Constant lag spikes, shattering, freezes. Login queues and endless barriers in game ... still the same story.

    As a D2 Veteran I was very disappointed with D3 at launch and I'm sad to say that I'm even more disappointed with D4 at launch than I was with D3.
    Like others have said, the story is amazing but I recommend that you save your money until Blizzard fixes the myriad of issues that D4 has.

    Extremely boring endgame gameplay. There's nothing to do. Weak itemization. The same thing can drop on every item. Terrible treatment of players. Constant balance changes ruining the gameplay. Instead of boosting weak builds, they nerf the strong ones. I wanted to give the game a second chance during the launch of the first season, but the servers are not working...

    Terrible greedy design decisions, slow and uninspired gameplay, and that was before they nerfed all classes and slowed the game down more with the latest patch. Save your money for other ARPGs or go buy both Diablo 3 and Diablo 2 Resurrected for the price of this garbage. This is nothing short of a bold attempt to milk a loyal fanbase and their nostalgia to paint a pretty picture forTerrible greedy design decisions, slow and uninspired gameplay, and that was before they nerfed all classes and slowed the game down more with the latest patch.     To look at whether or not you will enjoy a game, you need to look at the fundamentals behind the game. Is it a game of love where the underlying metric is ensuring players enjoy playing the game? Does the company respect the player's time?

    In the case of Diablo 3, the fundamental metric that the team is targeting is "engagement". You might ask: "why is this bad? It's an ARPG, I want    To look at whether or not you will enjoy a game, you need to look at the fundamentals behind the game. Is it a game of love where the underlying metric is ensuring players enjoy playing the game? Does the company respect the player's time?

    In the case of Diablo 3, the fundamental metric that the team is targeting is "engagement".

    You might ask: "why is this bad? It's an ARPG, I want to be engaged."

    But the fact is, Blizzard doesn't care what type of engagement it is, they don't care if you're enjoying yourself, as long as you're playing, as long as you rack up the hours.

    And if you look at the game through that lens, every aspect, and every decision now makes sense.
    They will actively try and slow you down. They don't want you to burn through the (very little) end game content.
    They want to make sure you get as little reward as reasonable without you throwing up your hands and just outright quitting. It's a fine line, but they have the experience and data to straddle that line.

    And there lies the real fundamental problem with the game. And they have to do this, their shareholders DEMAND that they maximise profits, so they must treat the players like cows and milk us for as much of our "engagement" as possible, with as little content as possible.    … Expand

    Hour long queue. If I can log in the lag makes the game unplayable. Blizzard(now Microsoft I guess) just takes the money and delivers some unplayable trash.

    So, I'm giving it 2 points, because I actually really enjoyed playing through the Story the first time and I enjoyed the cutscenes, music etc. however that's very subjective.
    As for the game itself, it feels tedious, UIs are not good and need overhauls (for example more storage, easier tracking of side-quests and map stuff, only 20 items craftable at once?), at some point it can take    So, I'm giving it 2 points, because I actually really enjoyed playing through the Story the first time and I enjoyed the cutscenes, music etc. however that's very subjective.

    Especially I can not recommend the current state of Diablo IV as the priority of updates and fixes seems to be to nerf various parts of the game (like unnecessarily extending the "leave dungeon" portal from 3 seconds to 5, so now your character just stands there idling for 2 seconds), some fixes even coming in on the same day but big requested changes by the community are not on the priority list. Additionally, the patch before the first season revealed their poor view of what actually needs dev-work and leaves a sour taste for upcoming content, patches or even fixes (in Blizzard fashion likely more nerfs to slow down progress).    … Expand

    I cant understand how a company can be so blindfolded on not hearing or reading any kind of feedback from the players, Blizzard is on a killing streak of all their games and it's not stoping, from Heroes of the storm, to Warcraft 3 Refunded, to damn Overwatch 2 and now they dig the grave even deeper with Diablo.

    I know its hard to please everyone, but man.

    Game is a JOKE! Season pass one is full of bugs can't even move around the map without getting stuck CAN'T GET TO MISSIONS! Can't complete missions. LOAD TIMES take for ever so have to control alt delete to get out of the game to restart and be queued for ages!!!

    Having actually had fun playing a game after a long time and being psyched up for this season, the latest patch takes away everything that made the game actually fun. Looks like I'm going to be doing something else before Blizzard takes the stick out of their ass. I feel like the community resonates hard on what I said.

    90% of my deaths are from dumb blizzard mechanics, I'm tired of feeling like i'm getting stomped in the dirt mid fight by a mechanics that have very little counterplay if any at all. chain cc into body explosions, into off screen chargers into some environmental nonsense that can barely be seen through the chaos.

    At first, I was enjoying the game, then i progressed enough to see what a hollow shell of a game it actually is. I was going to give it one more chance with the new season, but the servers can't handle its player base in 2023.

Then season 1 drops with excessively long loading screens, long login queues and invisible walls stopping you from progressing. Do yourself a favour and play something else whilst this alpha version of the game is developed on. Come back in 6 months andWhat are they doing? It's frustrating that they seem to ignore the feedback and requests from their dedicated fan base. It appears that their primary focus is solely on making money, neglecting the players' desires.

    This game had potential, despite quite long grind for mandatory uniques for endgame builds i really wanted to give it a chance. But after patch 1.1 and nerfs all over the place i felt like i got a big fc... slap in the face. i wasted money, time and first time in my life i am mad at developers that they sucked out all the fun from this game and ruind it.     Had a blast with this game when released, then came the nerfs prior to S1. Feels like Blizz does this with every game they put out. Players enjoy the game and then devs nerf everything into the ground to make it more of a grind. If you are planning on purchasing this title, I'd wait until they either fix their mistakes or play something else and keep the $70.

    The new patch fixes none of the current problems and nerfs all builds/experience... this makes it clear that nothing good can be expected going forward. Avoid paying full price for this game, as it is only worth it for the campaign. Such a shame.

Has anyone ever opened reddit or Twitter from your team? How was it a good idea to nerf everything across the board into the ground? You can take less damage which makes you die faster, which makes leveling more of a grind. On top of that you destroyed cool downs across the board. How is it fun to run in circles to wait for the cooldowns? It's mind boggling really. And to round it up you decided to finally delete the sorc from the game, because f*** it, sorc was bad in pre season already so why not just delete it from the game altogether?… Expand

    I want to have fun playing this game, because it's Diablo and one of my favorite franchises. But every time I log on and try to play I find the gameplay loop just isn't rewarding. The Unique's are mostly useless and most of the item affixes don't even matter. I was a hardcore Diablo 3 player and I understand the game got a lot better after a year or two of patches and QoL updates. So II want to have fun playing this game, because it's Diablo and one of my favorite franchises. But every time I log on and try to play I find the gameplay loop just isn't rewarding. I was a hardcore Diablo 3 player and I understand the game got a lot better after a year or two of patches and QoL updates. So I feel this is where Diablo 4 is. It's got an ok foundation, and it'll take another year or two for the possibility that the game will be enjoyable.     At this point (and I'll admit, probably many points ago), Blizzard is just another game developer that stopped developing games and became another mindless corporation enslaved to their shareholders.

    Do yourself a favor and just support the few AAA studios left that still have a genuine passion for storytelling and game design, and of course indie studios where raw talent and passion thrive.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
