The fact that this includes microtransactions is just spitting in our faces too. Diablo 3 was one of my favorite games of all times and this just doesn't hold a candle to it. I bought two copies of this even just so I could play with my fiancé and I wish I could return both with how not fun they have made the game. Combat feels agonizingly slow not even just compared to diablo 3 but any other ARPG. It feels clunky and the few builds that were quick, agile and fun Blizzard has nerfed into the ground. I've already stopped playing the game and at this point, particularly with how many other great games are coming out this year, I don't plan on picking it back up. I can't believe I actually thought they would have learned from Diablo Immortal and make a good game. Somehow they learned from their mistakes and just found new ones to make. Expand

Started well bar the numerous bugs and some screen tearing, but gave up due to tone deaf development. Does not bode well for the future of the game and I won't commit time to a game if I don't feel it is well spent/rewarded.

Out of touch with playerbase. Treating the game as a life service mmo money cow. Not a original Diablo solo game. Time gating, major gameflaws which they "cant fix" until after 6 month... Best game of this year just got bummed to 1 of the worst

We got Diablo 3.5 on launch. The game needs considerable updates before it is better than "good".

This is not a new game it is way too similar to Diablo 3. Itemization is just "green is good, red is bad" aka "big number good, small number bad". The legendary powers being "unlocked" upon dungeons is bad. They are taking feedback and I assume the game will be better in 6-12 months. If

Good storyline - Gameplay for some classes are very slow and unbalanced.

Seems like the devs need 5 years to get this game on a right track... unfortunately for the franchise cuz we had such a good D1 & D2 game ( Didn't play D3 much ). They patch quiet frequently but rather for fixing stuff that shouldn't be there in the first place. They seem to promise alot but can't deliver... sad

Conclusion : for such a high price of a game and franchise... You expect alot more, especially when they hype you so much with ads and information.
I really don't get it, you have such a good opportunity to get a massive game with nearly the whole world knowing and supporting this franchise, and you just throw it into the fire... Again.. Sad.

Blizzard is not doing great at most lvls with their games, but this proves everything.. They are completely out of touch

They addressed exactly 0 of the popularly raised legitimate concerns: affix bloat and poor itemisation (they added yet more useless affixes), unpowered skills were untouched, clunky mount mechanics, resistances are literally broken (read: not working), backtracking in dungeons, boring events, lack of variety in dungeon bosses, poor mob density (addressed in patch notes but not changed yet), uniques for an entire class are trash, uber uniques may aswell not exist, CDR nerfed.

If you want to pay $100 to beta test their game for them, go for it. If not, play literally anything else and check back in a couple of years when the game is finished.

Blizzard ruined the game with patch 1.1 making everything suck. You die instantly, get less xp and do half of your damage. They should've just released a higher world tier instead.

Why do they always take the easy road. Just NERF everything, all the builds instead of, IDK doing the math and making the right adjustments. You would think they would like to make their stockholders happy?? If the player base is not here than the $$$$ is not here. No $$$ incoming then no one gets paid.

    A Nightmare for Long-term Players: Diablo 4 Patch 1.1.0

It's a painful marvel how swiftly a game that was once a challenging, engaging, and gratifying experience can morph into a source of frustration. Diablo 4, a game I had devoted weeks of my life to, has morphed from a top-tier action role-playing game into a shattered shadow of its former self following the incomprehensible Patch 1.1.0.

Before the patch, Diablo 4 was an unmatched masterpiece. It demanded patience, skill, and a sharp mind to achieve the perfect balance of offensive power, defense, and abilities. It was a glorious challenge worth mastering. But then came Patch 1.1.0, and suddenly nothing was the same.

The alterations to the game mechanics were entirely disproportionate. The character progression, which previously represented a clear and tangible reward for invested time and efforts, was shattered and pieced back together, losing the essence of what made the game what it was. The love for detail that went into the min-maxing mechanic was brutally distorted. It felt as if my hard-earned gear disappeared into smoke overnight.

Even worse, the equipment stats have gone completely out of balance. My painstakingly collected gear, which once made the difference between victory and defeat, was devalued as if my efforts meant nothing. Even the new damage calculation mechanism appears to be utterly arbitrary, making the gameplay frustrating and unsatisfactory.

The changes go far beyond pure number games. They also touch the fundamental elements of gameplay. It's as if the developers decided to reinvent the wheel rather than building upon the strong foundations that Diablo 4 already had. The new system feels unbalanced, illogical, and unfinished, as if we, the players, are now serving as beta testers for an unfinished game.

The most frustrating part of all this is Blizzard's apparent indifference to the community. They have preferred to make dramatic changes without gaining a clear consensus from the players. It's as if they have forgotten that we, the players, are the ones who pour countless hours into their world. Our opinion should count, especially when such drastic changes are in question.

In the end, Patch 1.1.0 for Diablo 4 doesn't feel like an improvement but like a completely new vision that doesn't match the original game we loved. With the massive changes and the lack of communication from the developers, I feel alienated and betrayed. It's as if I'm no longer part of the Diablo community but a spectator forced to watch the game I once loved heading in a direction I cannot support.

I'm disappointed, Blizzard. What you've done with Diablo 4 is nothing less than a betrayal to your most loyal players. The fact that we are the ones who suffer the most is a slap in the face that we didn't deserve.

Diablo 4 was once a phenomenal game, but post-Patch 1.1.0, it's nothing more than a sad example of how to ruin a great game. I can't recommend it under these circumstances, sadly. It hurts me to write this, but I can only hope that Blizzard learns to respect its players and appreciate their passion and commitment.

Vulnerable has been nerfed but is still mandatory because it has its own damage bucket. They don't understand the ARPG genre at all. They made a jack of all trades game that can't really satisfy any player in the long run. They released an unfinished product that felt like it was still very early development, like pre-alpha.

Then they continually nerfed and disabled things after release not fixing any of the big issues but just making players experience worse and worse. Then they released the pre-season patch and oh boy did they not only ruin they game they massacred the game, whatever was left of it

Then they released the pre-season patch and oh boy did they not only ruin they game they massacred the game, whatever was left of it they just took it and destroyed it. At least they had the audacity to kill OW2 before it was "released" still think think they scammed a few people with that but oh boy did they take our 100$ and run away with it for Diablo 4.

Despite having a lot of time to play I got a druid to 96, rogue to 82 and a necro to 85 and I can't even get myself to log in to at least push to 100, I am completely burnt out on the game. And whenever I think about the game it makes me mad, I spent all that time leveling those toons for nothing, it wasn't even fun, there was a tiny bit of enjoyment early on because new game energy but after that it was just brute force because I had nothing better to do. But I might as well have stared at paint dry while listening to music and would've enjoyed my time more.

Game is only a leveling simulator, but instead of being a "fun" leveling simulator they force you to go into nightmare dungeons, just regular dungeons with annoying and horrible affixes that makes you not wanna run another one when you finish one but to keep on leveling you need to run those hundreds of time to get to 100, and just when you think there might be alternative content there isn't. You got world bosses for loot pinata, helltides for chore to get Forgotten souls and then there's tree of whispers which is dead content can't recommend doing it, it's unrewarding. So basically the only thing there is to do is nightmare dungeons.

Then the other part where you're not really farming for anything, you might find an item with 3 more vulnerable damage, or 6 more crit damage, but ultimately it is just similar system to Diablo 3 +5 mainstat from paragon, but it's +5 stat from gear. Your character becomes 90% complete at level 75, and then the rest is like trying to hunt for a perfectly rolled item which is completely pointless and a waste of time.

Then they failed miserable at trying to put in "chase" uniques, there were 6 at launch, and 1 added in latest patch. Worst part is you can't grind for them, as they would take about 12 hours a day for 2000 years to find, not even a meme but literally thousands of years on average for just one of them. And we currently don't have access to the well of immortality to farm for those uniques.

So I think this game at best is like a 1.5/10, because I know Blizzard can always stoop lower. But this game is basically as bad as it gets. Definitely regret every dollar I spent on it, did not get my moneys worth.

The D4 game designers do not fundamentally understand what makes an ARPG fun. This is because many of the leads on D4 come from World of Warcraft. Instead of making the BEST ARPG they could, they instead wanted to 're-imagine' Diablo from their own point of view so they added an Open World, side quests and boring reptitive dungeon fetch and deliver objectives. While the open world could be awesome, they didn't fill it with enough fun stuff to do, so it just ends up getting in the way of the fun. They tried to mask this lack of content by saying "OMG 120 dungeons!" but there are only a handful of tilesets, layouts are repeated over and over and ALL the activities in these dungeons are reptitious and boring. They said they spent 2 years on perfecting the itemization, but it's absolutely horrible. Tons of affixes that are just 'Number Go Up' type of stuff, except with conditions. Lastly their MMO lineage has them trying to balance the game perfectly, but NERFING everything (instead of buffing underperforming skills/classes). They don't understand that in an ARPG you don't want everything balanced perfectly, a lot of the fun is being able to create some really awesome builds that just crush content.

For all of these reasons (and many more) I don't have much confidence that the Diablo 4 designers are capable of delivering an awesome game. I think the game will improve and after the first expansion it will probably be FAR more enjoyable to play with a lot more stuff to do, but the 'theme park' feeling they've brought to the game will always remain and it will never be truly great. Sad.

If I were Microsoft, I'd start work on Diablo 5 now with an entirely new team, one that truly understands what makes an ARPG great.

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table.
