    - the story is quite good, I enjoyed it and most of the boss fights
    The Bad:
    - renown sucks (because it is no fun). Farming it is not fun at all. Side-Quests are not fun to do, they are usually boring fetch quests or kill X enemies. The best part is when you run out of the enemy you're supposed to kill in the are, so you have to walk away and come back to finish the quest. But you feel compelled to do this horrible, boring grind because in the end of it all you gain +16 paragon points and other helpful bonuses. The only good part of renown is Strongholds. If Blizzard can remove or greatly reduce side quests and altars of Lilith in favor of more Strongholds, perhaps Capstone Strongholds this would make the game a lot more fun to play.
    - trading is worthless. You cannot trade legendaries or unique items. So if you're playing with your friend and you're the same class but different builds, and you get a legendary with an aspect that would greatly benefit their build, you cannot help them.
    - you have to wait until the end of act 4 to get your mount. The open world slows down your progression significantly in the early game.
    The Ugly:
    - The endgame is just pitiful. When you beat world tier 3's capstone dungeon (I was able to beat it at level 63, a little early albeit), you unlock world tier 4. This is when the game really stagnates and becomes a boring grind and a slog. At this point in the game the best thing you can do is just farm nightmare dungeons forever, hoping that ancestral or unique items drop. if you get a rare ancestral item you might actually be able to upgrade your build by upgrading it to a legendary. Most legendary drops are total garbage by this point and there are a LOT o f them. This is where the game mostly tests your patience, and your ability to just WAIT for that better ancestral item or unique that you need to progress further.
    - Also gambling in the endgame becomes worthless, so obals also become worthless

All in all a lot of work needs to be done to make diablo 4 the masterpiece it should be. It has the potential to be the greatest ARPG ever, but right now the mid and end game are mostly a bad and boring grind. Please fix renown, as it is probably the worst aspect of the game right now

The game, which was already criticized for its slow pace, has been further bogged down by a series of nerfs that have affected every aspect of gameplay. All classes have been weakened, enchantment costs remain high, and the Helltides, a key feature of the game, have been slowed down. The patch has also severely nerfed boosting and reduced the experience bonus for killing higher-level monsters by a staggering 90%. The changes to critical and vulnerable damage, nerfed by 17% and 40% respectively, have further reduced the game's appeal. The game's pace, already a point of contention among players, has been slowed down to a slog, making progress feel tedious and unrewarding.

Adding insult to injury, even the teleportation mechanic, a seemingly minor aspect of the game, has been affected, with the channel time for the Leave Dungeon ability increased from 3 to 5 seconds. This change, while small, is emblematic of the overall direction of the patch - a focus on slowing down gameplay and reducing the effectiveness of various strategies and tactics. The result is a game that feels less like an epic battle against the forces of Hell and more like a chore. The excitement and anticipation that once surrounded Diablo 4 have been replaced with frustration and disappointment. The game, in its current state, fails to deliver on its promise, earning it a score of 0 out of 10.

Really wish they would offer a refund for this scam game.

They just keep making the game less enjoyable every patch. Season 1 content is just laughable and then they want battlepass sales. Nah hard pass already uninstalled. Regret purchase.

Had fun for about 40 hrs as a sorc playing casually. Blizzard decided to nerf my build so I spent all my gold to halfway respec to a decent build. By the time I did that they nerfed that build. Sorc is already garbage and the recent patch killed them. Blizzard knows nothing about their own game and it shows. Skipping season 1 and possibly even playing the game ever again.

The blatant disrespect and lack of care for the community who supports this company is unmatched. Everyone here is a paid customer. Community feedback is important to maintain an active player base. Blizzard/Activision has continuously showed they do not care. In response, players will bring their time and money elsewhere. Do not waste your money.

Diablo 4 is a game with a lot of potential, but the recent dev activity is incredibly worrisome. The intent seems to be to slow the player down in order to keep players grinding as opposed to actually improving the game itself. The nerfing of the eternal realm paired with the solutions to said nerfs in the new season is a very clear attempt to funnel people out of their current characters and into new seasonal characters. The premium battlepass linked into this seasonal character progression makes it quite easy to see the likely motivation for these changes. The devs want to make money off of the current player base. The way they make money is by getting as many players as possible to play in the new season for as long as possible in order to get as much exposure to and purchasing of the battlepass as possible. This is frankly a very scummy approach and very concerning for the future of the game. Diablo 4 isn't a bad game, it has strong roots to it, and with a little bit of work, it could be an incredible and long lived game. However, the current direction that the game is taking unfortunately doesn't suggest this outcome. Things may eventually start moving in the right direction, but currently the dev strategy seems to be focused on profit over enjoyable player experiences. Hopefully the negative reception to their current direction moves things back on track, but with the current state and direction of the game, I'd advise waiting to see how things turn out. Paying $70 for a game that is seemingly being developed with the primary intent of farming you for more money is frankly not worth it. Hopefully Diablo 4 takes the Battlefront 2 trajectory and rebounds from a predatory game to a genuinely good production, but only time will tell. Expand

It gets a 1 because it looks good, but also because it's an abomination. The constant crashing. The mediocre performance (my 4090 doesn't work this hard in other games). The inability to balance the game or have any sense of direction. It's just a cruel joke. RIP Diablo, you were one of my favorite series.

I've played Bethesda games that were better at launch than this. Fallout 76 wasn't this bad, and that game was bad. It's like Blizzard hates their playerbase. Every chance they have to make the game better they go and do the opposite. D3 had a rough start, but I didn't loathe the game. This is so bad. I'd get a refund if it was possible. I've played indie games from small studios that were better and did a better job of balancing and listening to players.

They ruined one of the best franchises in history. Oh and there's a cash shop too.

The game is not that bad. But the actual state (1.1.0) is lacking the fun of the series: killing enemies fast, drop loot, have a build that's adapted to your play style.

As the first season is live, it appears that the devs will not let the players have any of that: in each patch, they nerf loot and build, they buff enemies.

However, d3 season 28 is pretty cool. And cheaper.

    -Slow and boring/repetitive leveling experience.

Could tell it was going to be rough during beta because there were plenty of issues to fix and let's be honest, we all knew Blizzard wasn't going to fix anything. At this point (and I'll admit, probably many points ago), Blizzard is just another game developer that stopped developing games and became another mindless corporation enslaved to their shareholders.

Do yourself a favor and just support the few AAA studios left that still have a genuine passion for storytelling and game design, and of course indie studios where raw talent and passion thrive.

Diablo IV is extremely boring. I could not play longer than 30 minutes without yawning.
    - Monsters and difficulty levels are scaled up according to your level, so every time, every type of monster represents the same difficulty. There is barely any challenge in fighting with the mobs in this game.
    - Quests are very repeatable, and their main purpose is to push you into another corner of the map just in case you forgot to waste your time on useless grinding
    - Dungeons are repeatable as well. There are a few types of dungeons: short corridor + single room or short corridor + one cavern where you have to fight against a tiny group of enemies. A few seconds later, you can leave the place with a supertiny amount of exp and crapy loot. Please believe me - loading time takes longer than completing such dungeons. More complex dungeons are built from pre-configured coarse-grained modules, so after 3rd map, you can see the pattern: there is always a roundabout, and there is always a need to collect two things (keys, boxes, parts) that have to be delivered to the gate/blocked passage which leads to the big cavern/room with the boss. Always.
Loot...loot is boring. Do you remember how every weapon, armor, or other stuff had a unique look and feel in Diablo 1? Forget about it in Diablo IV. A few repeatable shapes of each type (with slightly different colors) of your equipment in a multi-gigabyte game in 2023...
Stats? Percentages and meaningless variables that you barely notice after a few hours.
    - Skills? Hahaha, Blizzard wanted to copy at least some tiny part from successful competitor PoE, so they added a skill tree. Tiny. Boring. Useless.
There are plenty of issues like this, and neither DLC nor season will fix it because the game is absolutely boring and destroyed at its core.
One of the most amazing things in Diablo was the cinematics. I played and progressed to the next Act mainly to watch the story development through outstanding pre-rendered animations.
In Diablo IV most of the cinematics were played using the game engine.

Don't throw your money into this.

The only difference you are weaker and deal less damage.

But to be honest D3 was more fun... It had endgame... To be fair D3 was horrible at the beginning, but does blizzard realy have to do all the old mistakes again? Why the hell... WHY they didnt took something of the itemisationssystem from D2? It kept D2 living for almost 20 years. It did prove itself...
Apart from itemisation and lack of lategame, this game feels lonly as **** Can you believe that there is no LFG funktion?? not even a global chatlobby... the only way to chat global is the tradechannel, which nobody uses because trading in this game is trash!!! not even professional goldsellers are using the trade channel XD.
Next is the class balancing. ITS a joke... the differences between the classes regarding content clearing are huge.
The only good thing about the game was the Story. but that ends latest with lvl 50. Then you have a senseless boring grind in front of you, which most likely won't be rewarding at all from lvl 80 on.
And it is not that D4 has a toxic fanbase or anything... Content creators and gamers in general did spent a lot of time to give qualitiy feedback. There was not a lack of interest from the communitiy towards game development and blizzard got a lot of input. But what they are doing with it??? Seems like they pretend to take is serious just to throw it right into the dumpster before patch release.

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table.
