now in a normal situation developers would try to fix these issues except they ignore the community and instead of fixing the issues they nerfed all classes and made that slow progression even slower

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is not worth of 70$ and has no content in it.
    Pros:
    - Pretty nice graphic and animations
    - Online multiplayer
    Cons:
    - The plot is weak and Blizzard just made the first act and the first location (Fractured Peaks) in details, all other game was made in a rush and it seems like it is not finished at all. All acts just makes you run accross the whole location straight to the dungeon. It does not make you to explore the locations they made, then what is the point of all of this? During all acts you just run chaising Lilith and in the end you go down to the hell and kill everyone including Lilith. From the trailers I waited for real war between Lilith and Inarius - you even do not participate in it, everyone just dies and you only see dead bodies and 1 boring cutscene.
    - Side quests are not interesting, they have no sens. Storngholds are the same as acts, only some of them are really well done, all others just can be bitten in 2 minutes.
    - Locations: no content on these locations and it is soooo boring.
    - Leveling is specifically lenghthen by Blizzard. You spend a lot of time to level up but for what? With higher levels different enemies do not have increased damage. You can easily be lvl 70 and kill an enemy of the same level, after that without upgrading your items you will easily fight the same enemy on level 100, the only one who will do more damage is you, but not the enemy. The only thing that gives some difficulty is world tier that makes you just take more damage from mobs, once you upgraded enough to sustain that damage - you complete the game and no more progress. Also it is worth mentioning that the mandatory dungeon that you need to complete in order to get tier 4 world is a piece of **** Instead of making something difficult and interesting, Blizzard just added enemies that one shots you, that's it, other mobs are the same as common one.
    - End game content???? Really, the only thing that Blizzard managed to do is over 100 dungeons that have 10-15 patterns and the same amount of bosses in it? Some random events such as Helltide is not enough to play this game more than couple of hours. Blizzard also made a 3 world bosses, really??? Also you will receive a note about world boss only after you finish all acts.
    - PVP is useless while you just see 100 LVL player in tier 2-3 world fighting against newbies on 40-70 LVL
    - Bugs, bugs and one more time bugs. Also servers still cannot handle all players and you die because of constant lags. And by the way Blizzard will blame all players that they have bad internet connection or they stupid enough to use weak Wi-Fi connection and that's the reason for all that lags but Blizzard does not understand that ALL players experience it and will never learn how to properly set up their servers.

(changed from 3 to 0) Here is an update regarding Season 1:
    - they downgraded the game and made it even moe unplayable
    - the battlepass is just a scam product that you can buy completely for $170
    - in order to unlock the content of the season further, you need to complete boring challanges such as kill 1 mob, clear 3 dungeons etc. Noone limits you from playing the content except Blizzard, well, I suppose because this content can be finished within 1 hour

Understanding that gameplay is more important than profits is crucial for a "game" company.

Because it is a game company, after all.

There seems to be no trace of consideration for what makes the users enjoy the game.

It is unpleasant to sense a focus on what will inconvenience the users and create unnecessarily long playtimes.

$100 that I feel is the most regrettable in my life.

This game had a lot of promise but the developers really screwed up in many ways.

This game is a fun play through once in the campaign up to level 50-55 and it's something you'll never want to play again after. What is the point of seasons when leveling past 50 is pointless? When loot sucks, when they nerfed everything in the patch and classes aren't unique and you can only play one

It's just dumb and a total waste. Very lazy vision with this game and it deserves all the crap reviews it is getting.

No gem tab at release? FAIL

Stupid mount mechanics that make having a horse more of a pain in the butt than just building a character with high movement speed? FAIL

No real customization with classes that forces you to play one way? Mega FAIL

Crap loot after level 50 that just forces you to farm just to farm? FAIL

No real good end game after the campaign world tier 4? Lazy and big FAIL

Over complex paragon board and under complex skill tree? FAIL

Stat boosts like strength for a Barbarian or Intelligence for a Sorcerer actually meaning something? Pointless and FAIL

I could go on and on but overall, but just **** you Blizzard and your team of beta cuck losers who designed this game. You should be killed at gun point in public for just wasting everyone's time with this shameless cash grab that doesn't even resemble a finished product.

Instead of addressing class bugs like the minion necro and making it more playable, Blizzard seems to be more focused on turning the game into a grind-fest due to the live service model.

It's a bit disappointing as players would prefer improvements in quality of life and bug fixes rather than increasing the grindiness of the game.

First and foremost, the never-ending stream of nerfs is simply infuriating. It seems like every time I find a powerful build or an enjoyable playstyle, Blizzard swoops in with their heavy-handed adjustments, leaving players frustrated and demotivated. This relentless nerfing not only ruins the game's balance but also destroys any sense of progression and satisfaction.

Blizzard's incompetence and disconnection from their player base are evident in almost every aspect of Diablo 4. They seem to be ignoring feedback and simply pushing ahead with misguided changes that alienate longtime fans. It's evident that the developers lack a genuine understanding of what makes the Diablo series so beloved and compelling, resulting in a watered-down experience that feels like a pale imitation of its predecessors.

I had fun playing Sorc in the previous months, joining legions, helltides, crawling dungeons, slaying world bosses, and unlocking Torment. Through it all, my Sorc showed signs of degeneration to complete irrelevance. It became really noticeable yesterday when I first saw the patch notes. And then:

    - All of my cooldowns have significantly increased
    - I started dying at the hands of monsters I could have easily killed
    - I couldn't get enemies to be vulnerable as easily as before
    - My mana seems to run out twice as fast and I couldn't regenerate it without running in circles for longer
    - I was no longer as effective in legions, and I started to feel envious of the Druids and Barbs as they run around making kills while I'm stuck without mana. Thrice I got successively killed when I never died in legions.

Last night, I looked for answers and I found it on Reddit. Their answer? A bonfire. For what?

    - To justify why the recent patch needs to stay when they could have easily rolled it back?
    - To convince players that everything will be OK?
    - To sugarcoat what is apparent as a monetization-geared patch?
    - To convince players to stay invested in the game when they're the ones driving the latter away?

In all, they seemed they wanted me to stop playing altogether.

This morning, I log in and saw that Season 1 had launched. I still wanted to play Sorc but given that Blizzard has nerfed it to complete uselessness, I feel that the hours I've put in to level my character has gone to waste all because they wanted more money.

I think it unfair that the problems I've been quietly whining about remain unaddressed:

    - The super slow XP gain
    - The very limited stash
    - Unbearable lags especially in events and when traveling through town
    - Useless loot drops (I no longer farm; ancient drops are merely incidental)
    - Frustratingly useless goblin drops
    - The luxurious mount and evade cooldowns
    - The store that really offers nothing affordable
    - The irritatingly repetitive quest of friends who wanted to purge evil and others

I am a casual player, and if the above are my sentiments, I feel for those who play hardcore and those who really invest their time playing the game, figuring out the math behind skills and stats, etc.

I thought that D4 is Blizzard's redemption from their greediness (not to mention the workplace lawsuits) but I guess I was wrong.

First off I am a business owner, so I take it VERY SERIOUSLY before writing a review. Let alone a NEGATIVE ONE. But I had too. I am so disappointed with this game and I'm going to tell you why. Waited over 10 years for this game. After grinding for a decade on Diablo 3 - My first introduction to the game.

Diablo 4 started off amazing. And really had a decent story, much better gameplay

And really had a decent story, much better gameplay than Diablo 3 and fixed a ton of stuff. Problem here is two fold. I have NEVER liked seasons. I think it's the dumbest idea ever personally. I think they are entirely a waste - And forces you to NOT continue progressing the same character that you love obviously, and it's unfortunate that you are pigeon-holed into continuing with what blizzard wants you to do, and not exactly what you want to do. Making previous characters irrelevant, then onto next sprint to another pointless season.

2nd problem with this game is the fact that the nerfs, buffs, and patches don't just come. They come with a FORCE. It's not a simple, "lets fix a couple things." It's literally: "Hey you guys are having fun with our video game, and finding all this cool stuff, and very serious players are reaping many rewards because they SLAVED 100's of hours? Yeah, lets NUKE your fun." The last patch they put out was the most atrocious, despicable, and relentless change to a video I have ever seen in 32 years. The saddest thing I have ever experienced playing video games personally. And it felt personal. I am not alone in this. Read the dang reviews lol.

Instead of some really reasonable fixes, they NUKED all characters, and made my personal favorite Rogue absolutely unplayable. Especially at high levels. Taking away the one thing that made them playable - LEACH. I Could push HIGH 75's+ NM dungeons with relative ease bases on building a badass character with endless time and tinkering put in, and now low 60's are hard, and taking away most of the fun and progression higher. Patch goal = add to the grind factor. Like really? Dude Diablo franchise is already a grind. You don't multiply that for the sake of doing so. It's a grind franchise by default. Don't forcibly add to that.

I say this as a major warning when it comes to doing any involvement with blizzard. They are a cash grab. I saw it in Diablo 3. DO NOT be fooled by FALSE critic reviews Who are NOT GAMERS. THE devs are after money. They are not after creating the best video game, and they showed us this when the last patch came out. And also many changes back int he day of D3. They destroyed "eternal realm" that I was playing 6 hours a day on+ to wanting to uninstall the game. Literally I'm not playing at all anymore overnight. Was even going to splurge on a $6,000 custom computer setup just for the game. Money is not an issue and I had fun. Why not?! Not anymore. Back to final fantasy. Diablo 4 as of right now is dead, and DO NOT be fooled by critics and dev's who are NOT PLAYERS.

I have worked in many industries. Reviews can be bought, and blizzard devs are NOT your friend. They are a business that need to monetize margins and revenue. Destroying eternal realm to push everyone into seasons to "try and keep it fresh," and sell you things (cosmetics, etc) is their game. They are not after all players. They are after the widest "monetizeable demographic." Trust me... I teach people how to scale their businesses and top-line revenue. I know they're game. They don't care about the major gamer, the hardcore gamer, they just want to appeal to the casual mindless zombie that "toes the line" and will show up no matter how much they nuke their fun. Each season after another.

Marvel did this when after "Avengers Endgame" - They made everything a joke, stupid, and for kiddies, because they could make more money. Quantity over quality. It's not about good story here. It's the cheese/bread/dinero/$.

It really saddens me to make this post as I really liked D4 in the beginning. It is an unplayable empty shell husk compared to what we started with. Hope this does not come off as whining, but more of a diary or therapy session LOL for venting. Blizzard did the community DIRTY, and I promise you they don't care. It will only get worse. This is their intro.

You are not their priority. Profit is. This is expected.

"When you try and save everyone, you doom everyone."

Good luck with your seasons. Hopefully not everyone feels this way, and some still enjoy the game, but like I said. They absolutely desecrated major gamers, and what makes a game fun, and what makes it so fun to keep showing up too. Retiring Diablo 4. GG blizzard. You guys won. I hope your margins were worth it.

P.S. Don't introduce uber uniques at such a low drop rate, that nobody over the course of 4000 hours of gameplay will ever find, and even if they do find ONE, they can still roll bad stats. Like dudes, what were you thinking. Dev team is so out of touch it's bonkers. Shame. Good luck all. Hope this helps!

Hello Blizzard D4 Team. I am a long time gamer who was very excited about playing Diablo 4 after the very long production time it took to release this game. I have paid and played Diablo 3 when it was initially release back in 2012. I have participated in D3's real money market and I have sunk in a significant amount of money at the time. It was over $1,000.00.

I have played the free game from Grinding Gear Games's Path of Exile and I really loved it for the dark and gritty storyline. I have sunk in over $2,000.00 in buying their cosmetics.

Recently I have played Tripod and Smilegate's Lost Ark game and it was amazing for its game play action and quality of life mechanics for their users. There was no funny business about not putting an easily accessible built-in timer for the world bosses or other events.

They have events where they have eight users play together in the same game instance.
This literally blew me away as it was more fun to play with more players.

Also, I have sunk in over $2,000.00 in buying their cosmetics for customizing my characters.

What I am trying to convey to you Blizzard as a company who needs to satisfy their shareholders is why are you trying to make a fun game very annoying to play with longer time gate mechanics? Not everyone can play like the top one percent diehard professional gamers.

I have a job where I have to work over 50 hours per week. Why are you making me regret my decision about purchasing the ultimate edition of Diablo 4 during its pre-release?

I do have an actual life you know where I regularly meet up with family and friends.

I definitely think you will be losing me as a loyal customer who was potentially willing to spend a lot of money on the game's cosmetics.

Please do clean up your act and really listen to the userbase and the top professional gamers who play for a living and have experienced the god awful decisions from your development team.

I choose not to spout hate in my zero star review of Diablo 4 at this current time.

    Thanks!

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
