    I have been a fan of Diablo forever.
    This Patch just before Seaon 1 is awful.
    It is making me want to leave the game.

    You guys are killing the game!

    The game was ruined by updates that are only meant to make the game more of a grind and keep people playing longer artificially. All fun has been removed.

    Boring, no real content, multiplayer doesn't really exist (no matchmaking). This game is incomplete.

    At the current moment it seems pretty apparent that the devs at blizzard are controlled by suits and not actually doing the best they can to improve the game but make it as grindy and profitable as possible.

    Developers are completely out of touch - they don't even play the pc port, which shows by the issues it has. Optimisation is crap - can't even play it normally with 7900 xtx using 24gb vram constantly and needing to restart the game frequently. Balance is garbage and gets worse with every patch. If you want a good arpg - this just isn't it, especially for 70 euros.     Blizzard doesn't care about gamers or the game. Game is full of bugs, nerfs. Cosmetics are expensive. No end game. This is the worst Diablo I've ever played, even worse than D3 vanilla when it first came out.

There is no endgame and this game is just a platform for them to sell microtransactions to you in a full price game. The latest patch wrecked it by making progress even slower.     If you like magic based classes find something else to play. They clearly dont want people to play sorcerer class in this game. Great leveling but weakest class in end game but they still nerfed it for season 1 patch.

    This dev team doesn't care about you. They care about artificially extending the time you play (by nerfing your damage output and defenses) so that you'll buy their microtransactions. This last patch was a nail in the coffin for many, myself included. I won't be back until that undo the damage they've done.

    It's clear that Blizzard has no idea what they're doing. They've completely forgotten how to make a good game, let alone a good arpg. I'm never buying another Blizzard game again. Diablo 4 was a waste of my time and money.

The loot they drop is terrible... make them have a higher chance of dropping uber uniques so people have a reason to replay these bosses more than once per character. We cant trade uniques and seasons only last 3 months so who does it hurt if a player got one of these? Whats the harm?

    4. 'Uber uniques'... I understand the carrot on a stick helps arpg games last longer but there is no carrot when the chances of getting one are rarer than winning a large sum in the lottery.
    I would love to see one of these items at somepoint in my life.

    5. Scaling is very bad. At the endgame, there is a sudden extreme incline in difficulty. Nightmare level 100 and uber lilith are so far ahead of anything below, it makes for a very poor difficulty curve.

    There are many more gripes with the game but these are the main points of issue.

    I liked the story and the gameplay feels good but there are so many issues with the game right now so i have to give it a low review.    … Expand

    TBH I put too much faith in "you think you do, but you don't" "Don't you guys own phones" modern Blizz. They have continued to sacrifice player fun for profit without realizing the truth that all of the good will for the company was from when they made games that were fun to play. I fell in to this nostalgia trap. Loved D1 bought it the week it came out. Loved D2 drove 200 miles to get a copy on launch day. More or less enjoyed D3, launch was terrible but it at least felt like they were addressing players issues with the game, love the current seasons.

    Basically the way they decided to "fix" their lack of fun endgame content was simply to make it harder to get there in the first place.
    I have seen a lot of people trying to justify the massive nerf to all classes by pointing out that the S1 mechanic will make up for that. . . I would be inclined to agree if this didn't effect the Eternal realm. Seasonal content should be optional not mandatory.    … Expand

    blizzard staff is obviously stupid and failed to learn something square Enix learned in final fantasy 11
    you do not nerf the skills you bring other skills up. if things die too fast buff their def and hp its not hard nothing had to change, just make dungeons for max level that are made harder.

    The art is great, the campaign is pretty good, but the end game is so bad, the itemization is bad, the game has a TON of bugs even months after release, half of the mechanics make no sense, most fun builds aren't viable, can't even fight the campaign bosses again after the campaign is done...     Blizzard is more interested in introducing changes that intentionally slow down game-play and reverse progression in order to artificially inflate game time - instead of introducing new content and challenges - in order to very transparently milk money from players.

The new patch made my build weaker and it wasn't even over powered although i followed a build from Moxsy. This is because I don't have God Like rolls which take for freaking ever to get anyhow. None of my friends want to play anymore so now I'm gonna quit. Helltides gotStash Inventory is horrible and they wont fix it till season 2. Leveling takes forever as if this was WoW from 2002.     This practice of coming up with a half developed game, selling it as a complete one and then paying Youtubers to market it aggressively to cheat the causal base who bought this out of past nostalgia needs to stop.

    I may be just an insignificant idiot who forked out $100 to buy your marketing and half developed game, (and spend 100-200 hours playing it in the hope that the end game gets better/your promises via community engagement sounds sincere and reasonable), but here is me leaving my honest review.

    For others who haven't bought the game, please don't. This is not a 'review bomb' as per what their marketing/PR team is selling, but it is a review of just an average joe who has stuck by the Blizzard name and loved the Starcraft, WOW and Diablo franchise, who heard good things about the new addition to the Diablo franchise and decided to 'vote with his wallet' to support the devs. Instead, I wasted money and time, and whatever ounce of goodwill/nostalgia I have with the Blizzard brand name.    … Expand

    What was once a promising game, turned into an overnight catastrophe due to a shockingly horrendous patch that obliterated every ounce of joy from the experience. Even if Blizzard were to revert these changes in the future, the damage has already been done, revealing their indifference towards players' feedback.     - Itemization is terrible (affix glut, useless or impossible to get uniques, legendaries that only serve to give you aspects, etc)
    - Lack of varied endgame activities
    - No rewards for tackling more difficult content (no special rewards for pushing higher nightmare dungeons or killing uber boss)
    - Renown system is literally just doing content in a given act (no special content, lore, or anything)
    - No easy way to group up for nightmare dungeons or other content
    - Mount movement is trash
    - Enchanting items is absurdly expensive (quickly gets to the equivalent of farming gold for 5+ hours) and you are given no indication what possible rolls you might get
    - Massive class imbalances
    - Lack of build diversity
    - Technical fixes take ages to implement
    - Most disconcertingly, devs do not appear to have a vision for the game and are not addressing player concerns

    Conclusion:
    Stay away from this game! Diablo 4 lacks in almost all the areas that make an ARPG great. Wait at least 2 years. Perhaps by then the devs will have made enough improvements to warrant playing the game.    … Expand

Truth be told, I don't even have much of a problem with non-P2W microtransactions, because I have to accept reality that AAA online PvP multiplayer on Playstation will basically only happen if MTX is included. You can thank greedy and lazy "story-driven" developers like Sony Santa Monica for that, because they save so much money by giving us half of the game at full price, and still make bank. So of course, developers that give us the full game are going to monetize the online portion for that extra work. My problem is that I already spent $70 on this mobile game that isn't even close to a true AAA experience, and the greedy developers still have the audacity to add MTX. Seeing how this is an online only mobile game with MTX, it should've been free-to-play. This outrageous greed makes EA and Take-Two look like saints in comparison. At least they have full priced games with actual AAA quality. Battlefront 2 or GTA V alone has better quality than the entire Blizzard catalogue combined. That's embarrassing.… Expand

    Uninstalling after the Season 1 patch. Had high hopes for the game and enjoyed it for a bit, but then the season 1 patch came and it's just a horrible, slow, slog for no actual game. This is an ARPG, not Stardew Valley. Fast pace, good and varied loot, and great bosses are a must and D4 now fails on every single one of those.

    Blizzard killed the best thing about Diablo: the loot!!
    "legendaries" are a poor substitute for uniques. So much of the fun of Diablo used to be building characters that used uniques in, well, unique ways. Hell, just finding one was great. Now I dont even get a jump in the heartbeat when one drops because it will only be mats for something from the codex....

Sure the graphics and UI are good but the game is completely missing decent lore and feel that made Diablo 1 & 2 so great (skipping over Diablo 3 which many people will understand why).     I made a review and got a 403. Great. I'll just summarize:
    This patch is horrible. It needs to be reverted. If this is how they are going to update the game and implement player feedback (taking the feedback and doing the polar opposite), then they don't deserve to have good reviews.
    Spend your $75 elsewhere. You won't regret missing this one, at least in the bad state it is in right now.

The campaign is really enjoyable but things slow down after you finish the campaign and unlock world tier 3 - and grinds to a halt soon after. 50 to 100 is a horrible slog with not much to keep you motivated to grind on, and to make things worse blizzard decided to nerf pretty much everything even remotely fun in patch 1.1.0.     Diablo 4 started off amazing. And really had a decent story, much better gameplay than Diablo 3 and fixed a ton of stuff. Problem here is two fold. I have NEVER liked seasons. I think it's the dumbest idea ever personally. I think they are entirely a waste - And forces you to NOT continue progressing the same character that you love obviously, and it's unfortunate that you are pigeon-holed into continuing with what blizzard wants you to do, and not exactly what you want to do. Making previous characters irrelevant, then onto next sprint to another pointless season.

    2nd problem with this game is the fact that the nerfs, buffs, and patches don't just come. They come with a FORCE. It's not a simple, "lets fix a couple things." It's literally: "Hey you guys are having fun with our video game, and finding all this cool stuff, and very serious players are reaping many rewards because they SLAVED 100's of hours? Yeah, lets NUKE your fun." The last patch they put out was the most atrocious, despicable, and relentless change to a video I have ever seen in 32 years. The saddest thing I have ever experienced playing video games personally. And it felt personal. I am not alone in this. Read the dang reviews lol.

    Instead of some really reasonable fixes, they NUKED all characters, and made my personal favorite Rogue absolutely unplayable. Especially at high levels. Taking away the one thing that made them playable - LEACH. I Could push HIGH 75's+ NM dungeons with relative ease bases on building a badass character with endless time and tinkering put in, and now low 60's are hard, and taking away most of the fun and progression higher. Patch goal = add to the grind factor. Like really? Dude Diablo franchise is already a grind. You don't multiply that for the sake of doing so. It's a grind franchise by default. Don't forcibly add to that.

    I say this as a major warning when it comes to doing any involvement with blizzard. They are a cash grab. I saw it in Diablo 3. DO NOT be fooled by FALSE critic reviews Who are NOT GAMERS. THE devs are after money. They are not after creating the best video game, and they showed us this when the last patch came out. And also many changes back int he day of D3. They destroyed "eternal realm" that I was playing 6 hours a day on+ to wanting to uninstall the game. Literally I'm not playing at all anymore overnight. Was even going to splurge on a $6,000 custom computer setup just for the game. Money is not an issue and I had fun. Why not?! Not anymore. Back to final fantasy. Diablo 4 as of right now is dead, and DO NOT be fooled by critics and dev's who are NOT PLAYERS.

    I have worked in many industries. Reviews can be bought, and blizzard devs are NOT your friend. They are a business that need to monetize margins and revenue. Destroying eternal realm to push everyone into seasons to "try and keep it fresh," and sell you things (cosmetics, etc) is their game. They are not after all players. They are after the widest "monetizeable demographic." Trust me... I teach people how to scale their businesses and top-line revenue. I know they're game. They don't care about the major gamer, the hardcore gamer, they just want to appeal to the casual mindless zombie that "toes the line" and will show up no matter how much they nuke their fun. Each season after another.

    Marvel did this when after "Avengers Endgame" - They made everything a joke, stupid, and for kiddies, because they could make more money. Quantity over quality. It's not about good story here. It's the cheese/bread/dinero/$.

    It really saddens me to make this post as I really liked D4 in the beginning. It is an unplayable empty shell husk compared to what we started with. Hope this does not come off as whining, but more of a diary or therapy session LOL for venting. Blizzard did the community DIRTY, and I promise you they don't care. It will only get worse. This is their intro.

    You are not their priority. Profit is. This is expected.

    "When you try and save everyone, you doom everyone."

    Good luck with your seasons. Hopefully not everyone feels this way, and some still enjoy the game, but like I said. They absolutely desecrated major gamers, and what makes a game fun, and what makes it so fun to keep showing up too. Retiring Diablo 4. GG blizzard. You guys won. I hope your margins were worth it.

    P.S. Don't introduce uber uniques at such a low drop rate, that nobody over the course of 4000 hours of gameplay will ever find, and even if they do find ONE, they can still roll bad stats.     From a good(not great) early/mid-game + campaign and big marketing campaign that probably made them 1-2 billion in revenue in the first few weeks - while making people literally pay $70-100 to be beta testers especially for the end game - to making people quit the game with season 1 to cut cost.

    I mean kudos to Blizzard - that was a genius move.

    Visuals - Stunning! The game looks awesome!

    Sound - The game is missing the iconic Diablo background sound track! I'm surprised they didn't use it anywhere!

    Story - I don't know. That's just it, I can't finish the game!

    Game Play - Since the new patch 1.1, my character (Ice Sorc) can't do anything! I used to be able to handle a crowd of enemies with some ease or even some challenge with elites. Now forget it...I can't even handle 5 low level clans in the open maps and Dungeons, quests, and story line cannot be completed! They NERFd the hell out of me! I'm useless now!

    My ~30 level Sorc would deal about 300 per Ice Shard, so about 1500 per enemy shot. Now I'm down to 250 (1250 Total) and the health for the bad guys went up about 15%. That makes my char 35% weaker! But wait...there is more! Now my cooldown was about 1-2 seconds, now it's 3! So...

    Before Patch
    1500 Damage Per Second
    ~1.5 second cool down
    Normal Enemy Health
    CAN kill single enemies from distance before they get close enough.

    After Patch
    1250 Damage per Second
    ~3 second Cool Down
    Increased enemy health
    CAN'T kill single enemies from distance before they get close enough.

    So i have to run around, jump freeze, run away, all while my cooldowns are ready, then BAM the monsters on top of me again...

    Players complained there was nothing to do at max level, so blizzard nerfed all the classes damage and nerfed XP rates so it'll take twice as long to hit max level. Problem solved!

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
