For a few hours it was glorious - and as a game, pure gameplay joy, despite a level of jank in its beta stage it's not at all without merit - but predatory is the only way to describe the monetisation. This game is a clear cash grab that was never designed for the sake of Diablo fans who are btw 80% pc players. A mobile cash cow pushed down our throats "What dont you have phones?". Activision has taken the name of blizzard over the years shoved their name into theI have been a Diablo fan since the original Diablo release, and this game has damn near ruined my love for the game entirely.     Diablo is the most beloved franchise to me. Trying this game and afterwards reading the comments of Whyatt Cheng was one if not the biggest gaming dissapointments in my life.|

    Shame on me that believed and whiteknighted for this dead shell of a company. Another client with a full blizzard library of games lost.

    It is just a Gambling Simulator. 100% Pay to Win.
    There is hidden loot boxes everywhere. And Activision-Blizzard uses extremely predatory systems that is horribly consumer unfriendly.

    Gameplay is decent since it is actually just a copy of Diablo III.

    This game had so much potential, I'm genuinely upset because with a little bit of tuning and fixing up the PC port it would be good fun to play a few hours each day. I don't mind a lot more grinding as it is a game I can play on my phone whenever. When I enter a dungeon and kill a boss, I expect to see loot explosions everywhere, instead all I'm greeted with is a few blue items, unless IThis game had so much potential, I'm genuinely upset because with a little bit of tuning and fixing up the PC port it would be good fun to play a few hours each day. I don't mind a lot more grinding as it is a game I can play on my phone whenever. When I enter a dungeon and kill a boss, I expect to see loot explosions everywhere, instead all I'm greeted with is a few blue items, unless I buy the 800% value bundle, then I can experience the true Diablo feeling.     Es tan pronto desbloquees los niveles Paragon donde comienzas a notar el tremendo pay to win que es este juego. Para empezar hay algunos aspectos    El juego comienza bien, las misiones son sencillas, al igual que las dungeons ya que no se requiere demasiado equipamiento para poder completar el modo historia y llegar a nivel 60, hasta ese aspecto se podría decir que el juego está muy bueno.
    Es tan pronto desbloquees los niveles Paragon donde comienzas a notar el tremendo pay to win que es este juego. Para empezar hay algunos aspectos que están casi enteramente reservados para el usuario de pago de este juego, como por ejemplo:
    * Las Legendary Crest, las cuales son escenciales si quieres conseguir gemas legendarias, las cuales son importantísimas para obtener bonus importantes en el equipamiento, están demasiado restringidas al Item shop, alguien free to player como máximo podría conseguir solo 2 al mes ya que una es vendida en un NPC (1 al mes ) y la otra en el pase de batalla (normal). Esto hace que conseguir gemas legendarias superiores a 2★ sea prácticamente imposible las cuales ya de por sí son abismal superiores a las de 1 y 2 ★.
    *Las mejoras Awakening del equipamiento primario están limitadas únicamente al Shop ya que el Item requerido es únicamente vendido por Eternal Orbs (dinero del juego que solo se consigue comprandolo con dinero real). Adicionalmente a eso, para mejorar un Item a Awakening es requisito que tenga una gema legendaria de Rank 10 si o si, si bien conseguir las de 1 y quizás 2 ★ no es imposible para un jugador free to play, si es algo que podría tomar exageradamente demasiado tiempo, considerando la cantidad de gemas legendarias que se necesitarían para convertir una de 1 ★ a Rank 10.

    *Por último, al parecer el propio juego tiene unas restricciones ocultas, tales como un máximo de 6 lengendarias, 5 Hidden Lair, 3-5 misiones secundarias por día, luego de eso el ratio de obtener legendarias y gemas, se reduce drásticamente.

    Por esto y muchas otras cosas que quizás omití, este juego, como dije al inicio es muy entretenido en sus inicios esconde un tremendo pay to win que se siente como un muro muy alto para jugadores free to play, Comprendo que al ser un juego free to play, era de esperarse que tenga algún tipo de monetización, es algo propio de este tipo de juegos, en especial de los enfocados a móviles, pero simplemente no a este nivel, esto ya sobrepasa lo absurdo y echa por tierra todo los aspectos positivos que fueron mencionados al inicio, dejándolo solo como un juego a corto plazo debido a que el endgame es donde verdaderamente notarás la abismal restricción de este juego a menos que pases por caja.    … Expand

    I made a Metacritic account purely to review this game. It is an incredibly predatory trap for whales. Don't download it. Go buy Diablo III. The cost of the game with all expansions is lower than the cost of getting fully geared in Diablo Immoral.

    Not much to say here that hasn't already been said. The sad reality of why this game was given the go ahead to release on PC has not been exposed. They never put it on PC to appease the outcry of "don't you have phones," it was done purely to try to push this gotcha phone ptw garbage into the mainstream PC market in an attempt to further normalize more and more insidious micro-transactions.

    I just watched how a company that used to preach about Quality and Fun, turn to the dark side of mobile gaming greed. To make it worse, they went all out and even went the extra mile of making it require $100,000 to max one character. Whales are their new target fan base.

    Diablo immortal has to be the worst in microtransaction history. There's plenty of videos out there that show the statistics of the game. And how the end game is nothing more than spending money to get the 5 star gear that you will most likely never get. Seriously. One of the worst games ever made by Blizzard.

The gameplay is alright... sure... this is basically like Diablo 3 in that regard, but it just becomes unplayable at later levels with the forceful grind and artificially-horrible drops, just to force you to open your wallet and pay up.     The more time you put into the game the less and less it's worth playing. This is a game that is advertised as free and yet in order to fully 'finish' building your character you must spend.

    Really loved the original Diablo 1 and 2 so wanted to check this one out. At first it seemed ok, sorta basic graphics for a 2022 game and not being able to use the mouse scroll wheel was a pain, but the shops and upgrades are absolutely nuts. Seems like they made this a casino game rather than PC game.

    The old Blizzard who we all loved and grew up on is long gone. Diablo 2 LOD is my all time favorite game and this is just an insult to the legendary franchise. Blatant cash grab with no concerns about their players and complete disreguard for any ethical thinking.

    Diablo Immortal is a parody of Diablo, a walking corpse that oozes technical quality and polish, with fantastic art, visuals, music, voice acting, UI, controls, and dark atmosphere; everything a Diablo game should be on the surface. But lacking all richness and complexity in its systems: of items, skills, and progression in general. The guts have been replaced by mtx gotchas, the progress walls are artificial and devoid of skill, running between daily activities is as soulless and pointless as running between tables at the casino. The bells and whistles call for you to "opt in" at all times, and the stench of it all permeates through every impressive layer of paint by Blizzard's incredible artists. Diablo Immortal is the embodiment of "lipstick on a pig".

    Diablo Immortal could have been a game people didn't know they wanted. If we had a PC client that wasn't trash, if the mtx were cosmetic only like path of exile (mostly), if the itemization and skill mutations weren't gutted to enforce the rule of paid stats (resonance)... If we had an actually deep arpg in this cross-platform framework, where players could run their quick solo rifts on their lunch break break and come home and do their raids on pc. There is so much potential.

    The problem is that Diablo Immortal is exactly everything PC/console gamers dreaded about the encroachment of mobile gaming: Horrifically pay to win ✅ Overly simplified mechanics ✅ daily activity spam ✅ abusive use of FOMO ✅ literal gambling ✅ artificial progress blockers ✅ no concept of total access or ownership ✅. A capitalist hellhole where addicting the player to daily grind is more important than giving them an experience that is worth money. Ultimately the game is designed specifically to target whales, and is not made with the enjoyment of the user being the first and foremost concern. Actually, the game is designed specifically to create anxiety in the player about limited time offers and deals and trying to break through barriers that the game itself purposefully put in place to throttle progress. This game is not made for you to want to play, the game is designed for you to not want to put it down. And it becomes very toxic and predatory in this aim.

    It is a very confusing experience, to be going through a Diablo campaign that feels so true to Diablo. It looks good, the music is incredible, the story ties in well with both Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, lots of familiar faces and places make returns. Things that only Diablo vets would recognize. And in the middle of all that, your session is interrupted by a notification "BATTLEPASS LEVEL UP, PAY FOR ACCESS!!", or "FIRST KILL OF THE DAY BONUS!" or the giant "TAP TO GET MORE" button at the bottom of literally every item in the game. Even the items are simplified to the point that the game simply tells you what to equip. There's literally no tradeoffs or decisions to make. The only things that matter are combat rating and resonance. There's also no skill runes or ways to modify skill behavior (outside of legendary equipment which is also basic).

    So the evolution of gameplay and character progression puzzle that are the two main pillars of the genre have both literally been completely replaced by the simple act of stacking larger numbers, which is time gated unless you spend money, up to a maximum of $110,000 per character. So despite much of the game's technical prowess, I simply could not find myself enjoying it. All I ever think about is "what daily activity am I missing out on" rather than "I cannot wait to try out this new item/power!" In this sense, Diablo Immortal truly does feel like the walking corpse of Diablo. It looks like everything a Diablo game should be on the surface, but all the guts and complexity have been ripped out and replaced with casino games and gotchas, and it's just been propped up in the town square, a parody of what Diablo fans held dear.    … Expand

    I don't approve of the steep pay to win structure of this app. While Blizzard's (former?) fan base may all have phones, they don't all have the vast mountain of money that it would take to enjoy the endgame of this app. The pay structure of this app is stooping so low that they've severely damaged their reputation as a maker of quality games.     I won't lie; this game was fun from the moment I started playing, I was hooked, and I even considered spending money on the game, but fortunately, thanks to a few well-informed people (yongyea), I now know just how much this game would have sapped out of me. It is honestly disappointing how your greed choked any future this game has.

    The gameplay is decent, but the P2W aspect grossly overshadows this. It's as if they made it just fun enough to tempt people to spend money. It's not a game, its just a slot machine with a game painted over it. Save your money and just keep playing Diablo 3.

    Diablo Immortal is a simplified and more accessible version of the series that can still provide hours of mindless fun and entertainment. Sadly, the games suffers in the long run because of all the tedious grinding and the greedy monetization system, making a game experience that starts as very enjoyable much less so as time goes on.
