Unworthy of the Diablo name. Blizzard has gone way down hill. This is uninspired and unoriginal. Story is the same as the last. Skill system eliminates choice. No offline single player. They are penalizing the customer to save them money from people pirating.

It is also a huge let down from the diablo 2 because of how WoW it seems and that is just disapointing and makes me want to return this game and go back to playing mass effect or SWTOR. I am saddened by how sorry this role out was. the game's ok, fun but since day 1 release there's been nothing but server problems, auction house problems, and 40+ hours of gameplay was deleted from my account due to a hacking...that's lovely for paying $60.

Game's too short, not even an infinite dungeon, story is bland and graphics resemble WoW which is so lame and childish.

Unfortunately my review isn't going to be very positive when it comes to the overall score of the game. Starting off, the graphics for the game aren't even on par with today's standard. The main issue of this game is that it doesn't contain an offline mode or even a single player for that matter. That being said, me being a service member and being at sea quite often, I'm unable to play the game in my downtime. I feel this game is going to be just like Duke Nukem Forever, highly anticipated and blown out of proportion with how awesome the game is going to be. I feel also that this game will follow the same path as Blizzard's "World of Warcraft", level caps and expansions following in the upcoming years with additional payments required. The game is also set to and extremely casual level with checkpoints all throughout the game. What happened to the old way? I truly hope they address a lot of these issues with upcoming updates and perhaps redesigning the game( Expand

My hopes haven't withered away entirely, with prospects from Bethesda and Blizzard and the upcoming Guild Wars 2 keeping my hopes afloat. I think we can all agree the Diablo series maintains superior replay value for games of their day and age. Unfortunately, video gaming is constantly ever-changing. Console-tards have overrun the video game world. Their need for instant gratification and simplification and flashiness has eventually seeped into PC gaming (cough* Skyrim and there removal of attributes, stuff from previous installments, etc.). Though I'm not that old, I'm a longtime vet of old school titles like the Diablo series. Like many of you, I grew up with the game. I f**king loved it. Still do.

My point is this: The people who made this game aren't the original devs. They borrowed concepts from other oversimplified games, made their own oversimplified Diablo clone, and made Diablo into a chick. Seriously? It's all about the money, isn't it Vivendi? I should have known better. But I digress. - Character development simplified. All skills auto unlock (which is horsef**k). Skills can't be upgraded to your liking with points invested into them (the one thing they should have kept). No attribute distribution. Completely unoriginal skills and effects. The RPG element has dissipated severely. You can make your character male or female. Customization can't get much more depth than that. /sarcasm

    - The original "dark/fantasy/horror" theme of the game is lost. It adopted the cartoon-world style that WoW has. I remember the "grittiness" playing Diablo in the dark, while nearly sh**ing my pants when the Butcher came out of his room. I'm not going to complain about the outdated visuals too much, since the original Diablo games weren't renowned for their graphics. They did what worked - which is what I hoped they would do here. But they didn't.

    - Plot is terrible. Diablo and Diablo 2 weren't the best, I'll admit. By best, I mean something along the lines of Final Fantasy VII and X. How many years was Diablo 3 in making? With all those years of development, I would expect something refreshing in the least. I predicted so many parts of the story it wasn't even funny. I feel like I've been lied to. I can't help but to speculate that the game began development a year or two ago, and they've just been hyping people up all these years to make money (i.e. Chinese Democracy - Guns N' Roses)

    - Sound and effects were alright.

    - I will admit, the auction house was sweet. But they're implementing a real money auction house, where they get a cut. Way to turn the tables on those pesky Chinese farmers, Blizzard. At least they've realized you can't get rid of them; so why not join them, right? #allaboutthe$

    - Buggy launch is buggy

    - Gameplay isn't all THAT bad compared to originals. Diablo was a point and click game originally, but it shouldn't take all these years to realize a game with the exact same concept. People will get their hopes up and expect something unique and original, only to be shot down by something stagnant.

    - Need internet to play? No single player offline? Self explanatory.

    - No PvP. One of the reasons I continued play and developing my characters in Diablo 2 for years on and off was the fact I could poop on the chests of newcomers. When it hasn't been implemented, it implies several things: Character skills and attributes weren't too well thought out. By this, I think they created them for PvE, disregarding the balance and effects players would have combatting eachother. It means the game is unfinished. They took too long making it, haven't finished, and rushed it into the fray to ease the ever growing throng of Diablo-fanboy piranhas (like myself, admittedly). Shoulda saw it coming when SC2 was announced, boys. - Bringing back old school characters to induce nostalgia in older players? Didn't do it for me. I was actually offended seeing these monsters I've slain in the past magically brought back out of nowhere. The only one I wouldn't have been disappointed with and wasn't brought back was Andariel, so I could pause the game and look at her boobies jiggle. Then again, they probably would have taken that out too. Overall, I'm disappointed. It lost that effective formula that I can't quite put my finger on, which kept me and so many others coming back. If you're a fan of the series, don't give in to capitalism and waste your money on this oversimplified Diablo clone. Yes, I'm putting on the level of a "clone" and not an actual title within the series. It's that bad. Like the hero of old who slew Diablo beneath Tristram and became the Dark Wanderer, this game too is nothing more than a shadow of it's former glories. 1/10.

For fans of D II and D I news aren't good either. The graphics lost their appeal and enthralling addictive dark quality. While it doesn't look as bas as LoL it doesn't look good appealing and diablo-like.

Foreshadowing Mist of Pandaria D III loses its RPG appeal. Levels are just numbers say goodbye talent points and skills, catering for angry birds and farmville players.

Like in Free-2-play MMORPG you can purchase better game changing items with real money, the difference being Diablo is not free and Blizzard takes its tidy profit cut on all auctions. Of course this is a boon for Chinese farmers and an invitation to hack accounts.

To summarise Diablo III may be interesting to young new players who never played Diablo II or III and want a quick game that can be played with one or two keys.

For the legacy players, the appeal may be much more limited.

They spent over 4 years to develop a game that looks like an add-on or community mod to Diablo 2. Awesome, Blizzard! Investors won't be very happy, I'm afraid. To be honest, my 14-years old son likes it and finds it fun. He also says it's kinda like one of his smartphone games.

How silly. The sound is horrible... creepy unsettling music of past games is gone, you dont even notice it anymore. Character advancement is empty and hollow.. no choices. The storyline is very weak with horrible dialogue. Basically I used to be a huge blizzard fan, but they have lost their touch. All they care about now is exploiting brand image, no longer care about making polished games.

Oh,and the auctionhouse is extremely terrible... i dont know what they were thinking. Organizing the AH in any meaningful way is impossible, and who wants to bid on an item for over 24 hours when the item will no longer be useful to you after you spend an hour or two leveling up? Fanboys, you do not simply rate "playing" with the product, you rate the whole product!

As a product, Diablo 3 is a letdown in multiple ways. These include:
    1) Buggy installations - numerous errors such as "Incorrect Installation Options Selected" when no such thing happened, and install crashes or freezes at 1%/5%/etc. 2) Lacking infrastructure to actually facilitate gameplay on opening day. Do you know how many "Diablo 3 Opening" parties were a let down? What exactly is the point of a "midnight opening" to be among the first to get the game, when you cant actually play it? And all in the name of anti-piracy when in fact the game has already been cracked (less than 48 hours later) and pirated "offline" versions are available through "other channels"!
    3) Laggy solo play - high ping times persisting days after launch, and many people just living far away from servers (i.e. outside of the US and Europe) is an aweful experience
    4) Ridiculous, opportunistic, and greedy price tag - it is no way worth what its being sold for, and this company simply took advantage of its fans. Smart fans will realise this, and they wont appreciate it. Then the actual game:
1 point for nice music. That is all. 1) Graphics - the game reminds me of Monkey Island by Lucasarts. Its so cartoony and does its best to not fit in with the atmosphere that its trying to creat by the story and the videos - there is a huge disconnect here
    2) Difficulty - its retard-friendly. Normal difficulty is a joke.
    3) Interface - minimal character customisation. Things just unlock. Minimal thinking required. 4) Random Map Resets every day? omg
    5) Voice Acting - lol - another joke
    6) Real Money Auction House - profiteering and legalised 'cheating'. Performance can now be based less on effort and more on your credit card....
    7) PVP - not released with the release :P lol again!

This game is a fail. Diablo 2 is superior from an "atmosphere" perspective. Its superior from the perspective of "actually being able to play" too! Some might argue that Diablo 3 is its own game, and thats fine. However its a game that came with alot of expectation strapped to it, and has overall not lived up to the hype....it hasnt even come close to be honest. For a game that has been in development for so long, by such a big developer, you would be forgiven for thinking that maybe some fans had gotten tired of waiting and strung what we have here together themselves in their spare time. You definitely dont expect this kind of release from the mighty Blizzard! The company that only has 3 well-recognised brands, because all of them have (until now) been totally epic! Diablo 3 probably is one of the biggest disappointments to the PC gaming industry in the past 20 years. 10 years waiting anxiously for the sequel to D2, and this is the result, i was truely devastated about it to be honest. Nevermind the stupid complaints about graphics or online only, these are not issues with me. What started as an exciting day for me on launch day turned out to be an absolute nightmare. What company in the history of PC gaming, not to mention one with the largest MMO background in the history of PC gaming, releases a online only game that is completely unusable for 36-48 hours after release? I mean absolutely, positively, worthless. You couldn't log in, you couldn't stay in the game, you couldn't even get your create character screen. I angrily waited it out, debating about returning the game, and finally as able to get a decent amount of play time in, only to be greeted by error 3007 hours later, consistently, every 3 minutes after logging in, 38 times in a row. Blizzards response to this? Your computer or isp is at fault, check your settings. Meanwhile, there's a half a million people on the Diablo 3 forums complaining about the same error effecting them in exactly the same way. A true disgrace to customer service and tech support I must say. Finally I was clued into a trick later on that you had to join general chat to keep you connected to battle.net to prevent error 3007, no one knows why, but it works, and thus gameplay commenced. I had a fantastic time beating the game in normal mode with friends, it had plenty of content, and the drops were decent enough for my level. Thus I made my way into nightmare mode, only to realize that this is where the fun ended, and things went "full retard". Normal baddies were fine, stronger by a significant amount as expected. That was until I met my first group of magical baddies with special spells they are granted....plague, fire chains, poisoning. Thus the dying began, I died a total of 57 times in Act 1 before completing in, and the number of deaths in nightmare alone are well into the hundreds, the fun was literally sucked out of the game every time you ran across a group of spell casting monsters. Often times I would find my self preparing for a fight, and then realize I had just been 1 hit killed without even realizing what had happened. Set all of this aside, as far as the balancing problems go with certain monsters being just, incredibly over powered, I come to find out that blizzard actually reduces your magic find % as you go on in the game.....LOL. So not only does it take you an hour to defeat diablo in nightmare mode with 3 additional players, dying at least 50 times, but you get nothing but crap drops on every...single...boss, only to find out that your level 46, and you cant advance on to hell, because you need to be level 50! LOL Honestly I mean ive never seen a more ass backwards type of gameplay in my entire life. You would think the epic struggle to beat these higher levels as you move on with friends would lead to more epic rewards, when the game is designed for EXACTLY the opposite! In fact you get a magic find bonus of 75% all through normal mode as described by one of the blizzard techs. So there you have it, Its up to you to decide whether or not you enjoy the game, im going to keep on playing because I paid money for it and Ive got nothing else better to do, but I honestly regret buying it, and it has deterred me from ever purchasing anything with a blizzard/activision logo on it. I don't know if the players are really that retarded, or do the game houses just think so when they are making these games. Everything is simplified to the point playing is just following an arrow showing where to go and what to do. You don't even have to distribute your stats or plan what to build anymore, because you can re-spec your points anytime to suit your needs.

I think they really should go back to sprites (or maybe voxels). In my opinion, Diablo I and II looked awesome compared to this. Graphics were really grotesque. Now they're just same muddy polygon stuff like in every game.

First off, I am a HUGE fan of the Diablo franchise. The first Diablo was my overall favorite game for several years when it came out. I have read all of the official Diablo series books, and most of my experiences with Blizzard and all of their previous games have been great. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Diablo 3.

The brunt of my complaints about this game lies in the structure of it. It was a tough pill to swallow, but I still got this game even knowing about the DRM. However, if I would have known about all of the server issues and restarts several times a day, in peak hours of the day, I would have not purchased this game. Also, the latency even when the servers are running "fine" is still pretty bad, and yes, because of the DRM that latency still affects all single player games as well, so you have now option but to deal with it. Putting all of that aside, let's look at how the game is when the servers ARE up and running fine. After playing through the majority of the story, I found the plot to be extremely dull. Everything that is considered to be a "pivot-able" moment just lacks any surprise. Even the worst of the Diablo paperback books have a much better storyline than this. The end result of this was that for the first time EVER, I actually got too bored to finish the main story of an action-RPG. I am in act 4 of the storyline and I really have lost all motivation to complete the game, it is THAT bad.

To help alleviate this boredom, I tried looking to join groups and play with others. Even though 95% of online players in Diablo 1 and 2 used "trainers" to beef up their character, I still found it fun to play alongside others. Looking to join games in Diablo 3 is a constant headache. Apparently, they changed the public game joining queue so that it makes you join a game with the least amount of players on it at a time. So if there are 500 people playing exactly where you are in the story, it will automatically make you join a game with only 1 other person in it, no matter how many times you try (Over 100 attempts for me). 95% of the time, that 1 other person is either afk or doesn't care that someone else joined. So I then thought, "maybe I will just invite friends to play with me, that way I can get a full game going". Then I realized that no 2 friends play through the game at the same pace, so if we are at the same spot today, we most likely won't be tomorrow, so there goes that idea...

So in the end, you can play multiplayer with one other random stranger, or you can play single player with the same connection dependance of playing a multiplayer game and complete with lag and random server shutdowns/restarts, even in peak hours. So you just have to hope that you aren't fighting a final boss of an act as the message "Server shutdown in 60 seconds" pops up. I am not much of a graphics guy so I don't really care if most people think it is outdated, games can still be great with sub-par graphics, so I didn't count off any points for that. The music is good, which is the only reason why I didn't give this game a "0". I also forgot to mention that if you have played "Titan Quest" before, 50% of the location surroundings and monsters will look familiar.

In conclusion, if you can bare the boring story, connection problems even in "single player", and deal with never being able to find a decent multiplayer game long enough, you will enjoy the soundtrack. I myself couldn't bare the torture all the way to the end... If I had the option to trade my key back in and get my money back, I would.

Right now I bounced of an error 37 about 10 times before getting into a 53 minute queue to get into the game.

If you want to get this game, wait a month before the servers are up to scratch. Right now it is just a massive disappointment, made worse by having had a taste and wanting more.

While the UI has been optimized, the experience has been reduced by always on internet connection requirements. Aside from the odiousness of DRM (cause we're all thieves that shelled out 60 bucks and can't be trusted right Blizzard? Go F- yourselves.), this makes it a certainty that any play experience COULD BE SUBJECT TO LAG. Shooting at a monster while playing alone? Lag may not let you do that. Why do I want this feature? Cause I'm gonna have yet another chat client? Puh-leeease!

The other horrible innovation is the real money market, which will include the option to buy gold for cash. So, those people that Blizzard has complained and campaigned against for ruining game economies? They're gonna do it themselves.

Are the graphics better since D2 was released in the year 2000? Not much.
Has there been any real though or effort put into D3 to improve it ? Not much.
Am I very dissapointed and feel let down by a company that has more than enough financial resources to make a top quality product ? Very much so.

All they had to do was take the Diablo 2 engine update the graphics a little, write the finish for the story and it would have been Game of the year 2005. Installation gets hung up in a "Updating Setup Files" loop from hell. I tried a multitude of suggestive fixes from the Battle.net site but to no avail. I bought the hard copy from Amazon and will likely return it Monday for a refund claiming game is junk.

All I wanted to do was play the single player campaign like I had done in the past. Blizzard, in their infinite wisdom (err greed)should never made it a requirement to play this game on-line. Obviousely I am not the only one that feels this way. The majority of reviews for this game have been less than stellar. Some heads need to role at Blizzard over this catastrophe. Bought it on a Thursday and all went well. Downloaded as fast as my connection would handle. Was able to start playing before the download had finished, which was a very nice touch.

Played for about an hour and it was good fun.

Tried to play the next day and it was really laggy. Ping had jumped to well over 400+. You'd shoot and nothing would happen for a few seconds. They would all queue up and happen several seconds afterwards. You'd be running around and then be reset back to a previous point. Monsters would warp around the map.

I tried connecting at regular intervals and the ping remained high and the game unplayable till Sat night when the ping dropped to around 250-300. There is no Australian server. You automatically get hooked up to a server in the US. At around 250 the game seems to run fine.

After a few hours it went back up above 400 and was no longer playable. It remained that way for the rest off the weekend and into monday morning when I last checked. At one point it was over 800.

Tracert and other tests show that my connection appears to be fine.

So in all I've had the game for 5 days and been able to play for about 3 hours. And it's only the single player game I want to get into.

Unlike other people I haven't encountered any of the server errors. Just very bad ping and a laggy, unplayable single player game. The client itself has never crashed. I've always ended the connection myself out of frustration.

If you are in Australia I would advise not buying until there are reports that the lag issue has been resolved. When the ping was around 250 the game was playable, even when connected to a US server. So hopefully things will settle down or maybe we will even get a local server. Until then, avoid.

I will try to be objective. First of all I think it is unrealistic to give this game a 0 or a 10. It is neigther a total disaster or a masterpiece. I will try to explain the score I ahve given. First of all I consider myself a casual gamer. The games I buy I usually do from Steam and I wait for special offers. I do not mind playing old games and I do so for the fun. Diablo III is an exception. Diablo II was probably the game I most enjoyed playing in my teen years and I was willing to pay 60$ for Diablo III. I think the game is fun and a nice way to keep distracted when you are bored, but I am a bit dissapointed at what it offers given its price. Maybe its my expectations given the fun I had with Diablo II are the reason for my dissapointment. First of all, I do not like that all characters will eventually have the same skills... There is no room for thinking out new builds and try them out. Also, beeing a solo player, I was very surprised at the fact that I will need to play always online. I think that is a deal breaker for many people. First of all beacause I share my internet connection, secondly becasue if I pay 60$ I will want to have access to the game whenever I want. Online playing really is not necessary I think. As for the game itself, I am half way trough nightmare difficulty and it starts to feel like the level of difficulty of diablo II. Normal difficulty was a breeze but I am happy to see that the level of skill required and plannification of fights is required in the next levels. I am not really fussed about the story, but I have to say that after 12 years in development it feels a bit empty. As for the good aspects of the game, I think it all comes down to if you are having fun or not. I am having fun at the moment. I expected more for for 60$ though...... The game feels like a diablo game, the dungeons are a bit smaller than before, but the monsters are very similar, you can even recognice many of them from Diablo II. The boss fights aren't as challenging though.... Anyway, just to sum up. I am giving this game a 5 out of 10. The biggest deduction comes when taking in mind the relation of what you pay and what you really get. The game is simply not worth that price, and it really does feel as a game that could have been created in 2005 or 2006.... It surprises me from a company like Blizzard who usually delivers good products. The internet connection is simply not fair for solo players, and I don't really think it is needed. Anyway, if you want to spend your money in a Dungeon crawler I advise to anyone who is not sure about buying the game or not to wait for Torchlight 2, created by the same developers of Diablo II. You will get a very similar product for 1/3 of Diablo III price. Just don't rush to buy this game just because it says Diablo in its tittle. It is not terrible, but you will hardly have the fun you had with the previos games. Overall I am dissapoint, but will try to make teh best of it and have fun. I hope this review helps you make a decision. Have fun everyone!
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After playing Torchlight II, I have to say that it delivers much much more than Diablo 2, which I only managed to play for 1 month before quiting. Getting what you get for Torchlight II at 1/3 of the price of Diablo III is just outstanding, its even hard to believe. The rewards, the progression, the customization, the atmosphere, the balance, but above everything else THE FUN!!!! All these things not only make Torchligh II an excelent game, but make Diablo III with 10 times the budget than Torchilight II a complete and utter failure 3 times as expensive and 3 times less polished.
Really. If you read this do not buy Diablo 3. Do not make that mistake. The mistake I and many others made because we had a nice time playing Diablo II and thought Diablo 3 would be its continuation. It is not. Do not bother. Go for Torchlight. You can buy 3 copies and its still cheaper than diablo... I feel so stupid now... Hope this helps you! Have fun everyone!

Why Diablo 3 is a failure:

Let's start with the guts of the game, the mechanics and work our way to the less important, but still relevant things they got wrong as well.

1.) Skill system/stat allocation system: Where is it? It doesn't feel like Diablo without it, plain and simple. It feels cheap, unrewarding, and lame. If I roll a hardcore character I might want to put more into vitality. Maybe they could have IMPROVED upon the d2 system, we all know it wasn't perfect. Maybe runes to augment the skills/synergies?

2.) B.net 2.0 - Yet another step backwards, we could have had a beautiful chat room set up with our characters at the bottom of the screen, both matchmaking games to quickly get you in the action and open games (like "act 1 start" etc.) 4 players in a game? 4? Diablo 2 allowed more in a game, doesn't that feel wrong? Hell WoW had 5 in a party, 4 max in a party wouldn't even let me play in a game with my 4 other friends...

3.) RMAH - Just because you can choose to ignore it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Join a pvp arena to have someone who bought all their gear kick your ass. Sounds fun. Lets not oversight the lack of world pvp, no more getting on your lvl 94 alt and kicking some lvl 30 gankers ass. Oh thats right nobody can even hostile in town. Enjoy your WoW arena matches. Maybe there will be pillars to line of sight around, weeee.

4.) Health globes: No no no no. I don't want my life to be dependant on an arcade-ish chance to drop health on the ground. It's **** potions in d2 were not great, but there was some micromanagement to it. It once again could have been improved upon. In path of exile (another ARPG showing some promise) They made the potions recharge on your belt, and potions could be blue, having stats like instant recovery/ 30% increased run speed during potion duration. Blizzard really dropped the ball on this.

5.) Graphics/feel: It's not Diablo 2's next of kin, It is WoW's next of kin. Diablo 2 was full of dungeons with mutilated bodies on torture racks, demons lingering in the dark cursing in demonic tongue. It felt visceral and dangerous. Diablo 3 feels like a loot romp through bland green-tinted grass. Blue and purple dungeons, yessss, great job Diablo 3 developers, really captured terror there. Diablo 2 was Raiders of the Lost Ark and Diablo 3 is Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull. As far as inferno goes it seems like they turned up the difficulty knob to make the game more "hardcore." Too bad when the game mechanics suck it's not even fun.

1/10 and if you disagree, i'm sure you're one that's looking forward to mysts of pandaria as well. RIP Blizzard not going to reward you for alienating your fan base and ruining your game series with poor money-influenced game design choices.

Long time playing factor, minimal. You're cutoff from the rest of players pretty much, no feeling for the "rest" of the Diablo world anymore.

Only 4 players ingame (I guess for later console versions), no hostile, pvp. But those are minor issues. The real deal is again, anything leads to the fricking auction house because you need items. To "deny" the usage is of course possible, but seriously, if you want to have any chance to keep pace you have no choice. There is no single-player modus anyway.

Played for a total of 35 hours and finished on normal setting (because you are forced to) but don't feel the need to play it anymore. Always on DRM ruins my single player experience. Thanks for the big FU to rural ISP folks, Blizzard. Not everyone has a solid net connection -- and they shouldn't have to have one, if you gave a damn about your customers. It's a shame that Blizzard now joins the likes of Ubisoft in my Never Buy Again Hall of Shame.

User score on this site is getting lower and lower. To be honest, Diablo 3 deserve that low score. Come to think of it, it has been 5 weeks since diablo 3 was released and their server fixing arent finished yet. I hope that blizzard company will simply rot.

I'm literally stuck at the final boss dieing over and over again because all of a sudden my connection will drop out and 30+ seconds later, the servers catch back up, bringing my death with it. is it my computer? no, im not new to PC gaming, i can play almost every modern game out there, max settings, DX11, tessellation on high, physx, etc. is it my internet connection? no, again, im not new to PC gaming. i can spend entire afternoons in games like TF2 or L4D with no troubles at all. aside from the horrible first week this game has been having with the servers, a new problem is now occurring. a massive amount of people are having their accounts hacked and their items and gear stolen. all of this because in a few weeks Blizzard wants to open up a Real-Money Auction House. This game-item theft concept isnt new, for anyone who's ever played an MMORPG before. Long story short, save your money. this game is barely playable. when it is, it is a fun game, not as good as Diablo2, but still good. however im still giving it a low score because Blizzard demands that their horrible servers be a part of your experience. This could have been one of the best games ever made and itstead it is a extremly poor version of WoW I played wow since vanilla up to when it was ruined in Cata , but i was always told diablo was about trading for items and gearing your character and how things like rune words and stats were important to your char this is something i thought wow lacked so bad since i never played diablo 1This could have been one of the best games ever made and itstead it is a extremly poor version of WoW I played wow since vanilla up to when it was ruined in Cata , but i was always told diablo was about trading for items and gearing your character and how things like rune words and stats were important to your char this is something i thought wow lacked so bad since i never played diablo 1 or 2 I liked the idea of having to trade items and that the acts would be challenging..

I have now played Diablo for 7 days and already there is zero point to continue I have beaten inferno on my wizard with a build that i made in 5 minutes that made me more or less invinsible trading items is pointless as ah has top dps weapons for gold and when every skill is based on weapon dmg what else matters , im not even fully geared and i have beaten inferno so now there is no further point to trade items. The level cap is also flawed in wow you hit 60 for a reason so you can do the best instances what is the point in diablo ? to farm the best gear that i can buy on auction house any way i could run hell in full mf and golfind sell everything and gear my hole char through ah i heard in d2 it was 99 and hard to hit so you always looked forward to something .

Ans last but not least the funniest thing is that the rarest items are not the best they have nil importance it could take me forever to find a legendary i find one and i have a magic/rare which is better so again i go back to ah to sell what should be the best item in the game for a blue.

This is a complete let down

The Harry_Pontek pay for the game and he expect to be able to play it at his own convenient time. BUT blizzy for whatever reason known only to their money minded brain, decides to take this "given" right away. So authoritative is blizzy, they deems it fit to dictate when you can and cannot play EVEN WHEN you pay premium for it.

Alright... Some of you might say "You already know this features before it launch. So, why blame after buy". Let The Harry_Pontek explain and the explanation is simple. Its because of the long 12yrs wait and also the love for Diablo series. So, try it out AND GUESS WHAT!!!!!!! ERROR37 and frequent maintenance on the crapper than crab server. Gosh!!!! Is this suppose to be normal? NOPE!!!!!!

Ok.... Let The Harry_Pontek be more liberal about this. Surely this game have something that impress The Harry_Pontek right? What about the gameplay and loot. Talk about this aspect, The Harry_Pontek's blood boil even hotter. The Harry_Pontek now cant customize his character to make uniquely Pontek. Everybody looks the same. Whats the point of playing when you cant relate to the character you choose and build. After a weeks on/off play, The Harry_Pontek cant even get a decent loot. All weapon and armour looks the same. Is it because of the moronic Auction House where you now can buy rather than fight for the loots. This seriously take away the fun. The only saving grace for this game and the only reason why The Harry_Pontek is awarding a 1 for this game is the soundtrack. Nuff said.

Take a deep breath and everything will turn out just fine.

Diablo 3 is so boring you would have more fun at a bingo hall. Also the connection problems at launch are awful and show how incompetent Blizzard is. The graphics in game are also not close to what a Diablo game should look like.

Game was made with cartoon graphics so kids could run it on thier pc's. The game was made with very little blood and gore so kids could buy it. Blizzard has failed with launch and if i could get my money back and return the game i would.

Graphics 5/10 - the game is blurry under high resolution settings, and the colors are over saturated to the point of obscuring the red health globe while in a "red fog dungeon" rendering both the art of the dungeon hidden and removing all usefulness of the health meter of your character. I can not see the detail on the characters under the default instalation. i have seen screenshots ofGraphics 5/10 - the game is blurry under high resolution settings, and the colors are over saturated to the point of obscuring the red health globe while in a "red fog dungeon" rendering both the art of the dungeon hidden and removing all usefulness of the health meter of your character. Plot 8/10 - the plot drives an interesting story, and has considerable room for an expansion
server stability 1/10 - random lag spikes can disconnect you from the game seemingly at random, regardless if you are in a boss fight, a huge pack of enemies, or simply in town. This happens regardless of if you are playing solo or with other people, because of the "always on" requirement of internet play. I i must "always be online" to play a single player game, then blizzards servers must "always be available".
auction house 1/10 - most items are posted and respond to input within 5 seconds. stay away from commodities until a patch, i get nothing but "request timed out" errors when attempting to buy or sell gems and other commodities and i have lost several gems while attempting to sell them due to this problem. this major error should have not shipped with a finished game.

My experience with D3 has been a sort of deja vu of when I first picked up D1. It was January of 97 when I picked up D1 from a local store, I excitedly brought it home and played it for approximately 4 hours before my cd rom drive crapped out. Since you couldn't play it without the CD I never played it again. ( I didn't learn about CD cracks until much later )

    A similar thing happened

Since you couldn't play it without the CD I never played it again. ( I didn't learn about CD cracks until much later )

A similar thing happened with D3, my wife purchased the game in secret, which really made my day. I ended up installing it and immediately played for about an hour. That first hour was the only time I'd be able to play for several days as any attempt to login was met with error codes because the service was down. When I finally got on to play I decided to stick to 'single player' until I got a grasp on the game, however I was ( and still am ) subjected to lag that stutters my character around the screen placing me in precarious situations so repeatedly to add an extra level of challenge trying to anticipate the lag. The problem wasn't on my end and still isn't, I have access to multiple internet services both personal and a high powered business line related to my work. The latency was about the same, hanging around 300 during choppiness and spiking to 500-600 at the worst moments. The good latency was around 160, this compares to an average latency of 20-50 when just playing other multiplayer games.

I wasn't really angry until I started noticing that I lost quest rewards due to lag, that's when I felt like I was being punished. There was no achievement to defeating a major boss, being kicked just as he dies and returning to discover all of his rare drops had evaporated. Another way I feel punished is that I'm also a casual player, I work all day and come home to unwind by playing games. This predictably is during peak times for the battle net servers which causes my incidents of lag to go up as well. I feel like I have to plan my gaming late at night or mornings in order to have a better experience.

All of that for a game that is an inferior experience to D2:
    1. Skill system simplified, characters are not unique
    2. Resolution of graphics is low, even blurry, despite running it on high and having a great pc
    3. Story is average.
    4. Auction house is pointless, browsing it just only reminds me of my casual play style being self defeating since i don't play enough to get these amazing drops. I do not intend on paying another penny on this game.

My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.

For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]
