    I've played Diablo II on and off since it released in 1999, along with its expansion in 2001. I cannot believe that a remaster of this game that has given me such entertainment for literal thousands of hours was released this poorly and sloppily. With a plethora of bugs even after a beta period, consistent crashes to desktop, rolling back character progress, server lag, and the worst ofI've played Diablo II on and off since it released in 1999, along with its expansion in 2001.     These were some of the same problems that plagued Diablo III when it first released which resulted in my brother and I refunding our preordered copies. I was so disgusted with the poor remaster of this game that I decided to refund it as well. It turns out that Blizzard is so worried about the game's financial performance that they will refuse to give customers unhappy with their purchase satisfaction.

    I will never play another Blizzard game again. They managed to rope me back in to this one as it was promised to just be a simple remaster of one of my favorite games of all time; back when Blizzard had integrity and wasn't controlled by Activision. Never again. I'm so angry and disappointed with this whole process that I hope the game fails financially and I hope it teaches them a lesson to treat their customers with respect.    … Expand

    The game itself if FUN and everything I wished it to be. I used to play Diablo2 alot years ago and have been looking forward to this for a long time. In the beginning it was quite difficult getting in and even be able to play - which was fine since the game was so new - and very popular.

Trash company that don't care about their players/customers at all.

    Biggest disappointment of the gaming year 2021. It worse because the actual game itself is indeed alot of fun. Shame ActiBlizz is the publisher (meaning they just suck at providing any kind of service).

    Don't toss the greedy swine more gold - look into something else that you can actually play after you bought it.    … Expand

    Gave it a 0 not because the game is literally unplayable (servers down), but because the way Blizzard handles this is absolutely atrocious. The only communication we get is the same ctrl+c + ctrl+v "We apologize for any inconvenience". It is as if they are not even trying to communicate.

    These servers issues are horrible, way worse than back in the days. Not only is playing an issue, with drops, characters missing, but also losing progress and loot after server fails. I can't believe they can screw up this much in 2021...!

The graphics looked nice and we knew what we could expect from the story/dungeons/loot since most of us already play it or have played it for a long time. It was therefore an absolute dissappointment to see what a disaster this release has been. So far    DO NOT BUY THIS GAME SINCE IT IS UNPLAYABLE

    It was therefore an absolute dissappointment to see what a disaster this release has been.
    So far this has been my experience or the experience of a lot of the player base.

    First week:
    First 3 days

    Log-in issues making the game unplayable (character is already in game while it is not for multiple hours…)
    Not fixing of the aformetnioned bug except for some important streamers.
    Bugs
    Bots spamming the chat channel with dubious sites to trade items
    Insane downtime (up to 7 hours until the servers were reset)
    Servers (especially on EU) booting you every now and then for no reason, even if your PC has top-tier tech.

    Next weeks:

    Servers crashing on a daily bases causing up to 7 hours downtime a day
    Unstable servers when they are up, booting you out of the system, infuriating people even more (especially on EU)
    Bugs of all sorts, which frankly shouldn’t even be in a beta version of a game.
    Horadric cubes (key item in the game) gone missing after server rollbacks forcing you to do a quest again, sometimes with valuable items in it.
    Items being deleted after rollbacks, aside from horadric cubes
    Bots still spamming the chat channels while nothing is being done about it.
    A complete lack of communication whatsoever what exactly is going on from Blizzards site or when it will be sorted out.

    After almost a month, all of this is very shameful coming from a company that used to be good, disrespectful to any customer who put up 40 € for the game, and borderline breaking some EU-rules on customer rights.

    No matter how much I loved the old D II and the old blizzard who took care of their fan base I can not recommend this game to anyone who wants to have a fun time. At this moment it is not a game. It is unplayable code. Save yourself 40 € or $ and go to the pub instead or have fun playing another game that actually works.    … Expand

    The Remaster was done Well. It was done by someone other than Blizzard, so it was delivered upon. Blizzard handles the servers and networking. They removed TCP/IP and have you rely on only their servers. Which, are down every day (for hours at a time), you will then be subject to RNG of how much progress/items you may have lost since they had to roll everything back, and then, you do notThe Remaster was done Well.     the skills are even more broken than the usa right now. sorc can over come cold immune but a level 35 conviction skill can’t even break any immunities( good bye infinity) even in normal mode. yesterday it hink.

    players abusing the use of controller support and turbo mode to even outclick the bots ( you gotta have one hell of a turbo for this)
    players scamming each others off and using d2jsp to crank up the prices. i got asked a pdrac for a lum rune and a shako for a io… or i can simply buy off my gears for 1800 usd for a breastplate enigma, 900 usd for a spirit and the best is that blizzard wont do anything about it.

    no help from players, well mostly no help from sorceress since everybody plays one, i main nec and auradin, rip because conviction…

    ladder will not have anything to offer since each and every runeword, cube upgrade and items are ALREADY in non ladder mode.
    constant crashes and server downs… i can crash just by scrolling through the chat, game list or just by touching my keyboard. this game has a stability thats even worst than FO76.

    region locked, because i chose to play in north america AKA the whole mfing usa and canada and the only thing i get are french canadian based players. after further testing its actually true. i played for 5 hours straight in over 200 different games. all were from quebec, english speaker or french speaker.

    PEOPLE CONSTANTLY COMPLAINING THAT D2 IS NOT LIKE D3, POE, ESO and that they cant be fed gears!!! asking for the game to become like d3 poe and the trademarket of ESO!

    the new trend of storming games for 3 months and leaving afterward but before that the new gen of players destroy a game completly and only comes back every now and then to see new content and leave the game bleeding out…

    the fact that blizzard censors everyone that points out broken game mechanics the moment they point it out, its literally like they have a paid army of people flagging everyone that says something that isnt : oh thats awesome me want more.    … Expand

    The servers are down every time I want to play the game. Then the rare chance that they are online, my friends and I are plagued with crashes. Save yourself the frustration and buy this game in a year.

    Today I've just lost all my progress. Yeap, that's it. Leveling, legendary items, time - all's gone. There's no char-vanish-issue, no. There's a rollback, so my character was about 75 lvl now it's 21 with proper item progress. That's all you need to know about this "astonishing" release.

    Almost a month after it's release, and the game is still experiencing daily server crashes. Technical support is a joke, they are unable or unwilling to fix the problems. Better to stay away, at current state it's not worth a single penny.

    The game is ok, albeit a bit repetative.

    But, the servers are almost never working, stuck in an endless login queue. If you are lucky and manage to log in, you will crash or disconnect after a few minutes of play.
    Here, have a rating of zero, as the game is UNPLAYABLE.

    I loved the original game, played it a lot between 2000 and 2006. I gave this a try. In my first 48 hours, servers were up for barely 4, and after playing for 4 hours my online character got deleted and support says nothing they can do to recover due to their broken servers. stay away !

In forth Act I've lost my reward drop from Mefisto soul stone quest and after this, when I just finished act 4 and got to 5 I've lost my online character and that's all folks!     First it was the AVX issue which wasn't in the beta but "accidentally added in after". The fix took about 2 weeks with almost no contact updates or response to all the players who couldn't even get refunds. The servers are a huge mess, i can barely even play for more than a few hours.     But (of course, there's a 'but') the technical state of the game is just below the line. It crashes a lot. Like, a lot. Sometimes several times in an hour. And it's not my hardware. I use Ryzen 7 3800X, RTX 3070, and 32 GB of RAM. It's the only application/game on my PC that has these problems. I can play any other game for hours, but not D2R. Just check the official forums. A lot of people have the same problem.

    Then there are the battle.net servers. They go down all the time. There are constant rollbacks tied to these events. It's been three weeks since the release, and instead of improving, the situation actually became worse. Now it's the fourth day in a row where servers go down for hours with a rollback hitting everyone afterward. People lose progress, time, and patience. This is accompanied by absolutely zero communication from their Support. They just copy-paste the same "we are investigating, apologies for any inconvenience" tweets over and over again leaving users in the dark. No details are given whatsoever. Is it safe to play, or will I lose gear again? Exactly what is happening? Why do you face the same problem over and over again? Blizzard refuses refunds (again, check the official forums, a lot of people want a refund). People are left with a sore taste of disappointment, unable to do anything about it.

    Sever are down all the time, rollbacks, lost advance, delete of characters, I try to refund it the first day I played and they told me I play to many hours so the refund is impossible. today I gave it another chance and the game crashed again and my character ain´t there anymore. I want my money back!

    Все нытье по поводу цензуры по большому счёту идёт в баню, сделали всё хорошо и условно правильно.

    - Опыт ВК3 ремастер ничему не научил походу, классик тоже как-то мимо прошёл ну ок, опять же передаю ОТЕЧЕСКИЙ КРЕПКИЙ привет.
    - Забавно что за ваши кривые сервера г*вном поливают разработчика ( разработчик НЕ БЛИЗЗАРД ) Молодцом в общем.
    Вывод:
    - Данную игру советую к приобретению сторонними способами, так как один хрен будете играть оффлайн (в соло).
    - Людям ответственным за состояние серверов выписать путевку в пешее эротическое.
    - Blizzard CS EU RU ребята отсюда могли бы и побыстрее реагировать на СОСТОЯНИЕ игры, вы либо им не платите и они батрачат за еду (поэтому хреново) либо платите слишком много (поэтому они толи бухают, толи что хуже) у ребят делей примерно 20-30 минут на офф серверов и их подключение. Я даже представляю себе как бедалага бежит с подвалов на 54 этаж, пешком по лестнице чтобы твитнуть о состоянии игры, милота.    … Expand

    I would gladly give a semi-positive review if I could only play the game in the short timespans between "maintenances".

    Unfortunately, most of the time I attempt playing it, there is maintenance.
    This conveniently happens mostly on weekends, when I have the time to play the game.
    The gameplay itself is mostly fine - glitchy from time to time. The quests often fail to complete when in a party.

Ahora lo que no es para nada admisible son las continuas caídas de los servidores. Siempre que hay repunte de conexión cae. Se nota que no quieren invertir en poner más servidores para los picos de gente conectada. Al final cae todo yFan de siempre. Pese a que el juego mantiene la misma estética creo que podrían haber optimizado mejor las texturas y gráficos. El modo clásico se agradece. Ahora lo que no es para nada admisible son las continuas caídas de los servidores. Siempre que hay repunte de conexión cae. Estás ingame y notas cuando la gente empieza a contectarse porque empieza la latencia..., al final cae todo por sobrecalentamiento... Harán algo?... No, sabemos que no se van a gastar el dinero en poner más o mejores servidores, esperarán a que la gente se canse y se pire, sin devolver el dinero porque la venta ya está hecha.     However I cannot play it for DAYS now due to issues with their servers. That is unacceptable.

    The game is completely unplayable. Consistent server crashes delete all progress you attempt to make. Devs fail to communicate the issues properly and post the same generic messages on twitter day after day after day. They also refuse refunds for a game that cannot be played. AVOID.

    The even can't keep the servers up for four days in a row. Every day there are 5-7 hours outage in prime time. Also be careful, they don't refund.

    I'm trying to play D2:R online for 4 days in a row now. Outcome is still the same as servers are constantly down. Official information is rather vague. I bought it only to play with the same people I've played it with 20 years ago. Activision, what did you do with Blizzard...

    Thank you Blizzard that you completely messed up, playing is not possible, every day the servers are not available for 6-12h. If you have been in a game you are thrown out and mostly several levels are gone and also items / runes that you found in the session. Compensation? Nothing!     Graphics are good but cant give it a better score when the game is not playable.

    In the original Diablo 2 game, we were able to create a LAN/TCP IP game to play with friends. That's been removed entirely. Everything goes through Battle.net now if you want to have a social experience with the game. Now that sounds all good, but Blizzard's servers have been nothing but unstable. The first few days of the launch were very bad. And they still are, just look at Blizzard's Customer Service Twitter profile and you can see what I mean.

    Servers go down at random, they don't communicate with us as their customer community and all they do is apologize with nothing to show for it. Once the servers are up they go down after a few hours. And they stay down for a very long amount.

    Should it be expected from a 20-year old game? No, absolutely not since they have remastered it for modern-day PCs and consoles. And the server crashes involve the console players just as much since it's all tied up in the same online infrastructure. And this is from a company with over 20 years of experience with online gameplay and hosting services.

    If you want a stable game and a good experience stay far away from Diablo 2 Resurrected. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. This isn't the regular early launch bugs, this is horrible.    … Expand

    It would be a nice game in the hands of a capable company. Due to downtimes every day of multiple hours and ZERO communication from Blizzard or its responsibles, as well as roll backs that makes every archivement you had during the time you could play void, this is one of the worst games I ever had to pay for.

    It's a pretty carbon copy of the original BUT it's unplayable due to server instability. Four days in a row at high demand times battlenet has been completely down for multiple hours. Blizzard support is a complete joke and they clearly don't feel even a little bit bad about this shocking service. The game may be playable in future but don't waste your money right now.

    Shame, they perfectly recreated the atmosphere of the original game but made it unplayable through game crashes, rollbacks and server downtime. D2jsp forums drove the nail in the coffin by making it 100% pay to win on Battle.crap which conveniently is your online option for multiplayer gameplay as TCP/IP multiplayer has been removed.

    As someone who's coming back to D2, I was flabberghasted at the vast amount of issues the game itself had upon launch and the weeks thereafter (e.g. constant ctds, esp. for folks on Nvidia cards).

    Now that those issues have been eradicated so some extent, the EU servers are all the time down! This is now day four in a row where the game is basically unplayable. "Basically" as in "there are time windows where you CAN play, but you have no idea whether the next server outage will or will not reset your entire progress (incl loss of any items you might have found in the meantime)".

    The fact that, already for days, there is no whatsoever announcement from Activision Blizzard adds only to users' frustration.

    If you are a mere offline player and are happy to look over the clunkiness that a 20y old pc game brings with it (and which - for better or worse - has not been removed from the game), then you might give this a decent rating. If it DID work, I might even give it a 7. But for most folks, online playing is where it's at - and since that doesn't work due to permanent server outage, that's unfortunately a 0 from me. Better invest your 40 € into RDR2 or The Witcher 3.    … Expand

    I cannot get a refund, cause blizzard just ignores my refund requests.

    I cannot rate gameplay / graphics / mechanics, because i am just unable to play.

    i definitely do not recommend buying this, this is just a scam.

    If by any chance the servers work, the online is filled with messages from items/gold sellers.

    That "remake" is as expensive to buy as he's bad.

    Diablo II: Resurrected is far from perfect. The changes in character design are likely to rile up returning players, and the archaic gameplay probably won’t agree with younger generations weaned on more streamlined, sophisticated experiences. While I appreciate that this legendary title is now available in an improved format, it’s not a caveat-free recommend.
