    Forsaken is flawed, and yet it is the best Destiny 2 expansion so far. There is nothing that elicits exuberance, but if you are a hardcore Guardian, do not miss it.

    There is no doubt about for Forsaken being the best expansion we ever seen for a Destiny game. And I have to admit that Forsaken is looking great and feeling great. But I simply cannot hide my frustration in the pricing. Selling a Season Pass for an expansion? It's unacceptable.

    Destiny 2 Forsaken is a whole new game, a whole lot of game, but it’s also the exact same game. It's "fun" – Destiny always was – but it's a loop of endlessly increasing numbers and loot and numbers and loot and more numbers and not enough numbers and I just don't know why I'm doing it anymore.

    Destiny is fun again. Really fun. The end game is back, and there's a ton of stuff to do, with good reasons to do it. We can confidently say that Destiny 2 is now in a great spot, and it’s probably the best the franchise has ever been. If you can stomach dumping more money into the series and are in the mood for some grinding, it's a no-brainer purchase.

    Most every task the game has set before me has been entertaining, challenging, and rewarding. Yet I feel my former student’s weariness mixing in with my usual optimism. There’s always something else to go do, but on the other hand, there’s always something else to go do.

    It’s the Destiny we’ve been promised for years, and it’s the Destiny that I’m finally excited to log into every day.

    Forsaken doesn’t fundamentally change Destiny. It adds the best story and mission structure in the franchise and makes core social features more compelling to engage with. Only time will tell how deep the enthusiasm for Forsaken will run, but after a week with the expansion, it’s hard not to be impressed with how Bungie has managed to push Destiny 2 forward.

    Gambit is broken at a fundamental level the worst of pvp and pve, certain builds are beyond a must and the match making is as it has been since destiny one unbalanced and in need of a massive rework.

    Strikes are unrewarding as ever, little loot and seemenly bugged vendors make it a waste of time to play beyond the presented challenges.

    The campaign is cliche and predictable from the start, what could have been an interesting moment is ruined by a lazy fade to black.

    The loot system is utter frustration personified, for all the hype of random loot, purple drops are as rare as ever. What could have been a drip feed of loot (see diablo 3 or the division), always looking for the god roll time is little more than an endless grind overseen by apparently broken rng system that favorites duplicates above all else.

    Crucible well what can i say? that hasn't already been said by a thousand different posts on a thousand different sites since this game launched? I wont waste my time.

    Sadly i think forsaken will be in years to come Bungies swan song, looked back on as a squandered chance to redeem themselves after the launch of destiny 2.

    In conclusion if your looking for a flawed grindy often uninspiring game while waiting for either the division 2 or Anthem then i recommend destiny 2 forsaken. It is ultimately a hollow and uninspiring experience , bogged down by bizarre design choices that have failed many other games. A grind that is as long as it is unfulfilling, made bearable by above average gun play.    … Full Review »
