This DLC shot life back into the game, but ultimately D2 is still a mess. Once you get max level you realize there is absolutely nothing to do, and that the grind was really not worth it. They need to take an extra year to develop D3.

PvP and Gambit are trash and the Pve Content is still pretty meh for a Game i already way to much money and also 40 $ are a bit much mby more like 25$-30$ but 40 is still kinda insane for a dlc thats not that big

I remembered why I quit D1 after TTK... While gunplay remains top notch, the grind and story/lore being relegated to things you have to read to get the clear picture is where it continues to fall short. Requiring previous DLCs and charging $60 to basically bring the game back to the finished version of D1? Yea... I'd recommend to look at other MMO-ish games if you have that itch. Do not purchase. The PC version of the game is horrible. Bugs abound. Disconnect issues are so regular it's not even funny. The PVP is atrocious. mouse and keyboard players are switching to controllers because of the auto aim assist that controller users get is so OP in pvp. The weapons are so horribly balanced it makes most weapons impractical. Exotics are useless except for one exotic for warlocks which makes them invulnerable.

I would give this game a 1 rating but I think it deserves a little credit for the story. So I'm giving it a two. Great story but short and all in all it doesn't make up for the horrible decisions of the development team, the horrible implementation and the bugs.

We finally have a half decent narrative and some more things to do, unfortunately its an incredibly high price to pay. We are basically funding Bungie's incompetence at this point. This expansion is nothing special, mediocre at best, which is a nice step up.

    The forsaken expansion.

The whole story is a mess with low build up and proper ending, the campaign is short with a few missions stretched out ( you walk alot with nothing happening) pretty mush the same with the to other so called expansion lol. after that there's nothing really to do other than girding weapon and armor skins. if you are looking for a great game with story and

What's the point of it being online? You see a few other people here and there but never once have I ever seen anyone EVER type ANYTHING in chat. Also I seem to get connectivity issues at the worst possible times. Because I can't open a ticket anywhere, here's how I'll compensate. Game is trash. Bright and shiny trash. Expand

Bungie yet again proves themselves unable to learn or adapt.

For all its hype forsaken does little more to correct destiny 2 massive issues than warmind did. Gambit is broken at a fundamental level the worst of pvp and pve, certain builds are beyond a must and the match making is as it has been since destiny one unbalanced and in need of a massive rework. Gambit is broken at a fundamental level the worst of pvp and pve, certain builds are beyond a must and the match making is as it has been since destiny one unbalanced and in need of a massive rework.

Strikes are unrewarding as ever, little loot and seemenly bugged vendors make it a waste of time to play beyond the presented challenges.

The campaign is cliche and predictable from the start, what could have been an interesting moment is ruined by a lazy fade to black.

The loot system is utter frustration personified, for all the hype of random loot, purple drops are as rare as ever. What could have been a drip feed of loot (see diablo 3 or the division), always looking for the god roll time is little more than an endless grind overseen by apparently broken rng system that favorites duplicates above all else.

Crucible well what can i say? that hasn't already been said by a thousand different posts on a thousand different sites since this game launched? I wont waste my time.

Sadly i think forsaken will be in years to come Bungies swan song, looked back on as a squandered chance to redeem themselves after the launch of destiny 2.

In conclusion if your looking for a flawed grindy often uninspiring game while waiting for either the division 2 or Anthem then i recommend destiny 2 forsaken. It is ultimately a hollow and uninspiring experience , bogged down by bizarre design choices that have failed many other games. A grind that is as long as it is unfulfilling, made bearable by above average gun play.

A steep price to pay for a game that was sold seemingly incomplete. The story still falls short and there is not a lot of content added. There are fixes that come with the game but those fixes are free and do not require the dlc.

9 Months later and you're dishing out another $120 in less than a year for new DLC and promise of renewable content. The fanboys are definitely looking at this game through beer goggles.

While a huge step up from the base game, which was dreadful, the Forsaken "expansion" doesn't really add anything new to Destiny at all really.

In fact, this expansion brought a lot of things that just made the game an extremely tedious mess like adding items that are somewhat rare just for the simple act of infusing the weapons.

Factions have been put on a permanent hiatus with seemingly no return in sight.

Weapon still feel weak and overall ability recharge rates are still worse than the previous game's end.

While you do get some new destinations, over all you have the same enemies you have been dealing with since the beginning. There are the Scorn, some of which have SOME new abilities, but mostly it will be things you have seen before. I would say this is a good mix between fallen and hive enemies (As that is how they portray them) but they do so in the worst of way, seeming to make boring re-skins of enemies you have fought before. The largest ones act like ogres, there are the generic sniper enemies that act exactly like fallen enemies, you have the small suicide rushing ones, and you even get a shaman that enacts an effect like the servitors. There are a few enemies that try something new, but still very simple.

The story itself tries to tug at your heartstrings by killing off the one character that has had the most screen time, sadly they didn't actually develop this character at all, or really give a good reason for your character wanting revenge other than "They killed him and he was a leader".

The barons themselves could have led to some interesting fights had they stuck with the ideas of beating them at their own games, but sadly, like most bosses in Destiny they just wound up as larger versions of enemies that already exists with maybe one or two new abilities (if that). The only "challenge" was grinding light levels, which boiled down to just playing Crucible matches until your light was high enough and then going through the DLC (which last about 1-2 hours tops if you're not rushing).

Overall it's rather disappointing that the best this company can do is bring it to just below the bar they set with the previous game and then have audacity to not only charge the player $40 for sub-par work, but then ask for another $30 for what would be free updates in any other game.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT buy the DLC unless you can get it for $10 or less because that is all it is worth.

The death of Cayde-6 was redeemed by a pile of content that finally attracts players to Destiny 2 as much as they were attracted to it with the great The Taken King. But the road to another success was long and tricky, for both fans and developers. [Issue#291]

Forsaken continues Destiny’s great tradition of taking a lackluster opening salvo and beefing it up with content that makes the game feel complete. Were it not for the superhuman light level climb in front of me, I would have absolutely no issue recommending this the same way I recommended The Taken King. If there was a version of original Destiny you had to play, that was it, just as Forsaken is the definite version of Destiny 2 - as long as you’re willing to make that climb.

Forsaken is flawed, and yet it is the best Destiny 2 expansion so far. There is nothing that elicits exuberance, but if you are a hardcore Guardian, do not miss it.
