If this was a stand alone game under a different title, it would be moderately decent... but because it uses the Counter-Strike name, it fails to live up to expectations.     Game works on highest settings on my laptop, which are supposed to suck compared to desktops. Everything was very accurate. Prices were accurate, speed and power of weapons are accurate. Dont whine if ur a noob. You'll get better. I used to be a noob. But an hour here and there got me better and better. Another bad thing is people are way to "into it". Just because of a couple of Game works on highest settings on my laptop, which are supposed to suck compared to desktops. Everything was very accurate.     Great graphics and great new and improved maps. Great buy menu features. It would be a 10 if it had the game play of 1.6. Frankly, you can kill and be killed too easily and one's actions are not as life-like.

    The game USED to be a really good game. Until it switched to Steam. And Steam trying to add all of these new updates and all it does is make the game worse. Ex. Hit Reg/Dmg Boxes/And getting stuck on things that arnt even there. Besides all of that it is a really gg.

    The game is great! Very good gamplay, and the bots is very realistic. So is the weapons and maps. I just love it too much.

    pretty cool game, one of the best fast pace shooting games out there right now. It also gives the ability for a half-decent computer to kill a killer rig. Mainly depending on the player. Where as some games are rigged due to graphics lag, basically... the game preforms well for everyone.

    What can I say? It's a superb game which lives up to all the expectations of a massively-multiplayer. It really is a masterpiece. A fine work of art. Everything in it came together so well.

    Everything is great, except for the gameplay, compare it to 1.6 and you miss the fast action, you can like walk around corners as a madman and shoot everyone. The gameplay of 1.6 compare with the rest of source would be 10

    id say its a 9/10 the new updates suck steam sucks they need to ditch um they bringing it down the dynamic pricing is the stupidest thing ive ever seen thank god u dont need to put it on server u can take off source is the most addicting game ive ever played counter strike has no problems just steam f*cks it up

    Great Game tons of fun and the steam engine makes this game out of the world. Multi player game is 10 best to play with your buds. Love it.

    Simply the best guilty pleasure! The only problem is the other many broken items that weren't in 1.6. This game is still better than most out today. My advice is to "create server" in single player mode with at least 8 bots at hard level. Then you will stand a chance in multi player mode online.

    Zero points couse steam. i have spending time two days, try to setup steam and css. First, i had to format my all hard drives couse steam´s updating system not workin at all... i have high speed internet connecton (800 kb/s), still steam downloading css updates only about 5 - 6 kb/s. Why, why... i´m so angry... fucking steam, great css, even i cannot play css, couse steam... !!!

    It's stupid to have a gun in any game that is as powerful as the AWP. Any developer with inteligence would have not put that in the game. The rest is good, way to buy somebodies idea and not get the kinks out before you put it on your engine.

    Best Game Ever!!! Don't believe that any other game will reatch this fun-factor. Maybe it is not the most realistic game... but this is not the criterion. CS has the most attractive game-mode. Round-based with short rounds, fast gameplay and great physics since CS-Source. I don't need blood in this game, and maybe the weapons could be wooden, it would be the same fun to me!!!

    I've really enjoyed this game untill 12-16-06 when I couldn't play due to the servers all being down I hope this doesn't happen again, but overall it's a fun game, I'm addicted to it I love it.

    I think it is a great game but i don't like it how you have to run steam to play it but i really like is that you don't need any discs like Warcraft or Age of Empires 2, great job Valve Corp.

    This game is so fun and so solid. Only problem is weapon spray can be unrealistic. The rate of fire for the Desert Eagle .50 Cal is way to fast and way to accurate. Other than that everything in the actual game is solid. And most importantly this is a downright fun game.

    Amazing, trully breathtaking... This apllies to all parts of the game, graphics, sound, and ofcource the source engine. The engine makes you feel like you are the part of the game, trully precise engineering of the developers.

Now it is a bunch of frantic running about, and the fact if you haven't played everyday since it's original release menas you are no good takes a lot out, too. Some of the game modes that have been created are fun, like zonbie mods and gun games, but I cannot ever get anything done in the regular game mode. The Dynamic Weapon Pricing also makes sure someone of little skill at the game, such as myself, cannot purchase guns like the D. Eagle and the M4, limiting thier effectiveness in the game. The bots are Ok, definitely better than the ones in Half-Life 2, and I never got why they did not just put them in that game. All in all, unless you are a god at the game, you are in for a mediocre experience. Only buy this if you are an actual representation of fps_Doug.… Expand

    Online topgaming with lots of variety and clanmaking. Small minorpoints are the ability for some to cheat and aiming on person but not hitting anything

    Awesome game... my favorite since the beta versions of regualar CS... all aspects of the game rock except the DWP which causes CS:S to lose a point... good job with the game though.

    Counter Strike Source is an awesome game, the only downside is that when a person new to css plays it online, they get wiped out. It would be awesome if they added a new cover thing like Perfect Dark Zero for Xbox360. You press a button and you take cover behind a wall, you click fire and you pop out and shoot. That would make this game ultimate.

    This game is the best online multiplayer FPS I have touched, the mods and competitive gameplay make it the best out there, yes the dwp does somewhat make the game unfavorable, but many servers don't even use, so dont let noobs confuse you with it.     This game is a great improvement graphically from Condition Zero or 1.6. I have all three and I play CS Source alot more out of the 3 because of the stunning detail and physics with the source engine. My favorite effect are the amazing flash bangs.

    It's such a great game but steam is the worst thing in the world, so is DWP take that stuff off it's horrible. The game gets so buggy with all these crap updates you bring, just make more maps/maps to bring to cal one day.

    It is one of the greatest games ever. But to add to it they should make another 1 player game and stop the dynamic weapon pricing it's gotten way out of hand. Deagle costing 6850 that's so lame.

    Counter Strike: Source for the first 2 years it has been out was great all new maps coming out and looking better than before. New player models that look stunning. But now that valve has added in the new priceing system it is not as fun as it use to be. Now I am back to playing cs 1.6.     Very nice, hours of replayability, at first I thought it was just a standard fps but its more compicated. Recoil control, learning how to shoot (yes the bullets don't always land in the middle of the crosshair). Well worth the cash and time.

Casual players, like me, are killed in seconds, because of the losers who play nonstop, and abuse the many glitches of the game.     Once i started cs (about 4 years ago) i still can't stop playing it ,cs is my drug and i think i do not know what will happen if i don't play more than 3 days and about cs:source , well i think this is the gratest FPS made till now , i'd never get bored with cs:s thats something i'm sure of.

After Install it first have to Update for more than 6 hours with 48KB/s (DSL-Lite User)... anyone think about theI do not know, what i have to think, instead of the fact, that "Steam" really ruins this game. As i bought this game, i was really happy to possess this game, i know CS, and i have seen a lot before the release. But, as i installed CS:S, the first thing i hate was Steam. After Install it first have to Update for more than 6 hours with 48KB/s (DSL-Lite User)... anyone think about the modem-user? After a long while i was able to play it and the next failure of this game, better said at "Steam", was the fact, that the player isn't able to switch to "Offline-Mode" manually by changing it in any menu. Instead of that, i really have to block my internet to play CS:S offline without lags or nasty pings, 'cause i do not have the best connection all day. (Trust me, even if you play alone against bots, CS:S works over the internet and you have to fight also against ping/lags).

    The only things, that could rescue CS:S for me:
    1. A direct Download to an Updatepackage, so i do not have to update this game per steam every time i reinstall it.
    2.It may be brilliant that at any day there is an Steamupdate, which adds a button to switch to Offline mode. So i do not have to disconnect to the Internet before playing CS:S... (or easily a normal LAN-Mode for CS:S, which automatically works outside of the I-net ;D)    … Expand

    I don't know why but this is about the only game I go back playing after I'm tired of another game. Its just awesome! only thing is.. the other people are waaaaaaaay better than I am. But thats not the games fault! Other than that, perfect ten!

But now its time for some NON-FICTIONAL HOT-ACTION+REAL GAMING experience.     Love the game. Very addicting I couldn't stop playing it for like 10 hours after i started liking it a lot. Somethings that are bad are the frequent crashes I get whenever anything happens and I end up restarting my comp and loading everything again.

    VERY FUN GAME. But don't be caught in the illusion that it is a GOOD game, cause it is not. If you want hardcore CS, play 1.6 or CZ, but if you want the fun of your life, I highly recommend this game. Besides, a video game is for fun, right? :P

    Mediocre shooter. Flashy graphics, outdated ragdoll and physics effects, and the worst ballistics/netcode I've ever contended with. I'd have an easier time picking things off with a Sten MK. II in reality. Yet, it remains to be one of the more popular games of its time.

    LOVE this game...you can sit down to play a few rounds for 20 minutes or dig in for twenty hours straight (your choice) without tiring of it. Absolutely addicting.

    This is simply put, the greatest FPS to ever of been made. Valve definitely knew what they were doing when they made the perfect mix of tactics and all insane shooting.

    A good game with great graphics, plays bettter than most shooters, with a bit of work it is easy to master the game, not as good game play as 1.6 though, but better than most other shooters.

    Very addictive and has broadened the imagination of many and opened the real killer in all.... the game gives you a real feel of what it would be like in that scenario, from the realistic guns to the most specific stitch in your players glove the game has been taken to a new level!

    This is truly what a fps should be! So far I have not expereinced any other game that truly captures the realism of a true combat situation aside from first to fight which is also a very good fps but as for Counter Strike? The best no questions asked!

    It is a great game, but it is full of bugs, hitboxes dont work etc. I think I speak for most of the compeditive 1.6 players when I say that they have ruined the game, the physics are incomplete and at times an annoyance, the maps have been changed, walls are no longer spamable and it looks as tho valve is not going to improve these things.     Cool game, nice gravity and the dying part is very realistic just like real life not fixed as in when you shoot the body, you won't kneel then die.

    I'm still sticking to CS 1.6 because Source has been modified so bad it just screws up your gameplay. Nice graphics of course but that just doesn't make the game.

    This game is great for gamers who are ready for match after match of close in counter battles! Those who say it is too easy to kill and die are looking at it wrong, it makes it a bigger challenge to test your skills in first person shooters! And eventually you wont even notice the easy dieing because it is usally quik to start a new match and try again!

    Valve has done a sterling job of moving a flagship franchise over to a new engine. Whilst the gameplay guts come over correct and intact, (which may disappoint some), Counter-Strike: Source is an even more engrossing and captivating experience, capable of sapping hours of your time, and even the worst "1337 g33zers" abusing voice chat can't spoil the fun you'll have with it.

    Counter-Strike: Source is, once you've gained a knack for it, the most consistently rewarding and surprising team-based shoot-'em-up available on the PC today. It's been dressed up nicely for its relaunch in 2004, but it wasn't broken, and Valve hasn't fixed it.
