    Graphic's are amazing, Game play competitively is what I think this game should be geared towards. Sometimes I think they are going in that direction sometimes I don't (maybe they are trying to keep it even for those pub masters). If you learn this game inside and out there is no reason you should not be very good at it. Shot registry is more so based on the server you are playing on rather than the game which lots of people mistake a missed shot on the game or on css reg either way if you play on a good fresh kept up with server then everything is good. BUT these types of servers can be costly. If they some how enabled a good registering server for a reasonable price I think this game will/or would have gained more players but when I user gets a game installs it not knowing the tricks of the trade they are going to have lots of problems get frusterated at how slow things can go at times and might not even get thru the instillation process, let alone get to give the game a chance and enjoy what millions others do.… Expand

    This game offers excellent time wastage, giving good players excitement and fun. If your new, stick to it because in a few months you might start enjoying it as well. Very dissapointed with the Physics engine, bouncing off barrels and cabinets, not to mention being able to campin in one. I find the game is extremely laggy and registering my shots is unbearably painfull. Flashbangs blind This game offers excellent time wastage, giving good players excitement and fun. Anti cheat is good, Anti hack is better, raciscm and derogitry remarks should be banable and inexcusable. Out of the many fps shooters I have played, this one is fantastic, yet it can still leave me very, very dissapointed. I'm glad I purchased it though.… Expand

If your new to the FPS genre then this will surfice but there is alot of better options out there that are less frustraitng. but If you can't tolerate campers, hackers, excesively loud music, 13 year old kids, pornographic sprays, flashbang spam, the AWP, The Desert Eagle, terrible hitboxes and the need to Good GFX and fun if not very simple gameplay and can be very enjoyable.     This game is unbelievable... It has stunning maps and AI and this is also a great game to host LAN parties, for all you serious gamers, i rate this a 10/10.

    Really good game. I nice upgrade Counter Strike 1.6 offering improved graphics and gameplay, though still including the old classic maps such as de_dust2 and de_aztec. For the £10 it costs now, well worth picking up, for both CS 1.6 veterans and gamers that wish to start.

    I'm not a big fan of CS, but i must say that CS Source whops all older versions of CS. Where the old versions of CS (1.6 etc.) had flaws, lets use the aiming as an example, in the old CS you would either get headshots or completely miss every shot when aiming at the feet of an opponent, But in CS Source anyone with skills and good control over the mouse now has a chance to make a I'm not a big fan of CS, but i must say that CS Source whops all older versions of CS. Where the old versions of CS (1.6 etc.) had flaws, lets use the aiming as an example, in the old CS you would either get headshots or completely miss every shot when aiming at the feet of an opponent, But in CS Source anyone with skills and good control over the mouse now has a chance to make a "hardcore" CS-player's life a LOT harder. CS source completely outshines the older versions in all aspects. The lack of bugs, updated graphics and includation of physics along with great gameplay leaves fans of Counterstrike with no other option than updating to CS Source as soon as possible.     CSS is a great platform for funmods and maps. BTW, mods can be easily implemented and CSS has a good downloading system for missing content. The graphics didn't take the best out of the Source Engine but the abstract GFX give every PC a chance to play CSS. Valve has invented CS again but the minimal changes left a view wishes and new game features open. But without doubt you can say CSS is a great platform for funmods and maps.     One of the best multiplayer game returns in a new way better version... The graphichs and the animation are the best for this type of game and the gameplay it's a bit easier than in cs 1.6...but it's a wrong thing because for some people the old Counter Strike was TOO much difficult...

    Graphics are very good, and even with slower PC you can play. But Like Yar said, its too easy. I mean if you started from CS1.6 and just then entered cs;s than you wont get so much exitement as in cs1.6. but you just started in cs:s than its good to learn.

    The graphics are good, but the gameplays isn't quite as good as CS1.6. For example, you get headshots too easily. It seems that this game was made as simple as possible, to make it a popular game, rather than one that required a little skill, like CS1.6.

    better than 1.6 for for one reason. physics. running in to defuse and seeing your buddy go flying into the wall because of an awp shot to the dome makes the experience so real and blood pumping. this game is an adrenaline rush unmatched by any shooter to date.

    Extremely good game and very addicting....gets updated every month or so and gameplay is extremely smooth and wayy better than the previous games. This is officially one of the best games valve has created.

    CS:S all together is a great, graphically stunning game. There are so many community inspired game modes it will take you a while just to play them all. The only downfall to this game is that it usually chugs if you don't have a great computer.

    This game is as addictive as nicotine. Once you log on to a network, and lan against a few mates, everyone is hooked. There is no alternative, CS Source is the best FPS ever created.

    Although superb graphics and the gameplay from counter-strike is retained, the game movements in counters-strike source is not as smooth as counter-strike, where animations and movements are rather stiff, and the realism in graphics could be a drag for some slower PCs and for online play.

    Its really a great game, good graphics and great game play, the effects are awesome and the scenery is great, i love how you can actually shoot through the boxes and doors, but there are some hackers which brings the game play down.

    The graphics are still stunning, and the realism is almost scarry. which is cool. The only thing worth complaining about is the lack of new good levels. Of course, what do you expect from a grass-roots game? levels come from players, not manufacturers.

    Great game, leaves the 1.6 way behind. The physics engine is really one of the bes things about this game, as the bodies and the weapons drop like ragdolls should.The thing i don't like is Valve not releasing any new official maps and the ability to kind of shoot through corners of walls or boxes, copied from 1.6.

    Been playing it for years. There are servers for every one, from surf to gungame. This game will be one of the best purchases that you will make, simply because of its vast size. Every level oozes with atmosphere, and the vast community ensures that there is always something new. If only there were more games like this.

    I Love This Game, It Got Awsome Graphics , Grate Gameplay, lots of differint game type from surf to gungame to zombie. i have played this game since 12/26/06 since today over 850+ hours.

    I have played this game since beta and have always gone back to it when I felt like a solid first person shooter multi-player. I gave it a 10 because I have not seen a game yet match it that runs as smooth and crash free like this one, not to mention the awesome action you can get into.

    Hey head shots may seem random but what the guy on the other team can do i can too, just takes practice and adjustment to a new style of playing. I still prefer 1.6 but only noobs complain about source, either waste your $20 or learn to play it like all the others. Fun game =)

    omfg! this is the BEST GAME EVER! its a simple "shoot-em up" that uses life like physics and realistic environments. Not only are the diffrent modes exiting (zombie mod, Gun game -zm, gg) users are always making and adding new, more fun maps to play on! And dont forget about all the secret spots you can find to dominate all those n00bs out there!

    The only thing I don't like is not being as good as the other players and well waits after I've been kills 4 steps into the fight but with a lil single player practice you'll be slaughtering and laughing as you watch the rag dog physics slump the now mamed corpses of you or your enemies on the ground.

    I think this game is fun, but the problem with it is the aiming. Shooting someone in the body and your recoil will send the bullets fairly randomly around them. On the other hand some people play enough to have found a way around that, aim at someone's feet with one gun, or 2 feet to thier left. I think that this game does not tailor to a "NooB" at all.     I own an Xbox 360, and all the hype re: Halo 3 makes me despair, although the 360 is unparelled for sports, driving and even arcade style 'Live' games.. there is no competition between the PC and the 360 in terms of FPS quality. Halo 3 is reminiscent of a cut down, impoverished Unreal Tournement 2003. So not only are FPS far superior on the PC, there is nothing which can match I own an Xbox 360, and all the hype re: Halo 3 makes me despair, although the 360 is unparelled for sports, driving and even arcade style 'Live' games.. there is no competition between the PC and the 360 in terms of FPS quality. Halo 3 is reminiscent of a cut down, impoverished Unreal Tournement 2003. So not only are FPS far superior on the PC, there is nothing which can match the depth and strategic live action combat of Counter-Strike: Source. The nearest contender is Day of Defeat: Source and the two are games which compliment, rather than directly compete, with each other. As with the original HL based Counter-Strike, nice graphics/physics engines come and go, gameplay remains. Long after the Source engine is considered ugly/dated, Counter-Strike:Source will still be the most played online FPS in the world. Never has so much been owed by so many to the few at Valve.… Expand

    Worst online community. Tedious. Fails at being an action game. Fails at being realistic. It's a bast^rd caught somewhere in between. Watching 2 people camp on opposite sides of map for 2 minutes. Horrible community. 13 year old racist homophobes. This game is just garbage. Why do people play it?

    Counter Strike Source is an amazing game, I've been playing many first person shooters and none beat counter strike. It takes online shooting gameplay to a whole new level, fun, addictive, realistic, fantastic.

I'd also like to note, you'd better have one hell of a computer if you plan on running this game with all the graphic settings on high, otherwise, your computer What more can be said than this?     People who claim there are to many cheaters need to switch to a Secure Server (VAC) or Stop playing on non-Steam servers. (For people who didn't actually buy the game.) I am yet to come across someone I could honestly say I was certain they were cheating, I have been suspicious of people once or twice, In anycase it is up to server-admin's to follow up on hack/cheaters.

    This is a GREAT game. There are tons of maps and i love playing it. It was definitely worth the money and i would just like to say that there are actually never any 'cheaters' if u play on a proper server.

    A true performance of a game. Surf maps and game mod maps and all sorts .. u just cant beat it when it comes to most addictive games. 10/10 of me outstanding game !! =)

    Hackers & Cheaters! too damn many of them. what is valve doing to solve this extensive problem? I hope they put as much effort into dealing with the hackers as they did with creating one of the BEST graphics engines to date.

    I love this game. It is an amazing first person shooter that NEVER gets old. I have loved playing it since the first day i got it! it was DEFENETLY worth the money!

    Good graphics, solid platform and server browsing. Gameplay is solid enough, at its core its the same, but then engine lends itself to poor hit detection. The rampant hacking and immature nature of the community bring the experience down. Overall a good, quick online shooter that lacks in depth.

    Valve has done a sterling job of moving a flagship franchise over to a new engine. Whilst the gameplay guts come over correct and intact, (which may disappoint some), Counter-Strike: Source is an even more engrossing and captivating experience, capable of sapping hours of your time, and even the worst "1337 g33zers" abusing voice chat can't spoil the fun you'll have with it.

    Counter-Strike: Source is, once you've gained a knack for it, the most consistently rewarding and surprising team-based shoot-'em-up available on the PC today. It's been dressed up nicely for its relaunch in 2004, but it wasn't broken, and Valve hasn't fixed it.
