    I guess Il do my part, To begin, This is the game i spend my childhood on. One on the fines games and a great classic. I'm seing allot of people complaining but its obviously because they just plain suck at it and did not gave a chance to the game to try it and get better at it. That's what i did lol. Wtv. To conclude, my personal favorite game of all times.

    Honestly i still think counter strike is one of the best games I have ever played and ever will. I see people raging about the graphics and how the buying system is imbalanced and how COD is so much better and those people are forgetting a couple of things: #1 Counter strike is an OLD GAME it wont have the graphics COD does don't expect it to. #2 the buying system is not imbalanced Honestly i still think counter strike is one of the best games I have ever played and ever will.     This game is absolutely amazing. Better than any FPS shooter EVER made. The repeatability is outstanding. There are so many game modes from default CSS to mini-games, zombie mod, gun game, jailbreak, world of warcraft, basically anything you can think of you just have to look. I have played this game for 6 years, everytime i get a new game like CoD i go back to this when i get bored of This game is absolutely amazing. Better than any FPS shooter EVER made. As for looks this game is pretty great for being made in 2004 but the source engine it uses is the best you can get. I have a top of the line PC and i still like these graphics more than others. 10 for gameplay, repeatability and graphics(amazing for 2004 game).… Expand

    Great game, has a variety of different types of servers although i agree thats some times the aim is off, but it is the server that is messed up if that happens. overall a great game with good graphics and good gameplay i would recommend it.

    A Fantastic multi player experience that is a fantastic bargain since it comes with Half-Life 2. A Must have game for anyone! :)

    This game is so booring, A new player need to play one month untill he realizes that he should aim at the floor, and THEN he will hit the enemy's head! I dont get why there is a crosshair in this game if its not accurate?!seriously this game is AWFUL

    Nice game, okay-ish graphics, very fun sniping people, It's a great game if your good at it. Good game for Trigger Happy players.

    Annoying and Boring as hell. Now at first when I played this game I was getting killed by every single player on the server. After dieing about 12 times I realised something. That this sucked erect monkey scrotum. Even if I was sad enough to waste at least 3 months learning how to get good at this it would still be boring as hell. I tryed out the bots aswell and they were ok I guess but Annoying and Boring as hell. Now at first when I played this game I was getting killed by every single player on the server.     One of the best game ever created by valve. Even though there are some glitches it is still better than other games. It challenges you to aim and think quickly.

    The reason why i voted cs to get a 10 is, its a game i always come back to. I've been playing sence 1.5 and I cant get enough of it, even with great title's like halo and C.O.D MW 1-2. This game just feels right. I hope theres progress to a new cs because i couldnt open it and play it fast enough. I am and plan to always be a diehard Cs fan. Keep up the great work valve!     It's a pretty good game. CS:S is not an addicting game but not a boring one too IM playing since 2005 and im still playing. 3 things need to be fixed. 1. Weapon damage 2. Defuse through wall. 3. Hitboxes. Gameplay is great! Good Game.

    Awesome games me and mates can't get enough of it, its unique game play is beasty, even my mates that say they don't like it ended up playing hours of it in the weekend

    GREAT GAME !!! I love it .. all the mods like surf and jail are fantastic .. its the best shooting game .. :) the graphics could be bit better but i hope to see new version of COUNTER STRIKE :D

    Probably one of the best fps games i have played so far in my life! If you want an fps game thats simple and not so needy on computer performance, this game is the way to go!

    I think that this is possibly the second-best video game VALVe has ever released. Great graphics, lots of weapon choices, and lots of maps, and the modifyablity of the game itself. I love it.

    This game is one of the best I have ever played. I have played this game constantly for years and its only been getting better and better. This game is by far the best game on steam to this very day.

    I never thought I would love a CS game this much. CS Source is really improved since CS Zero which had a lot of needs. The graphics has been improved a lot, and the overall game experience is so much better. I used to hate CS, but with this game I started to understand why its so popular. It's still not one of my favourite FPS games, but it is certainly a good game. Although the game I never thought I would love a CS game this much. Don't take the advice and low score rants from the ppl who arent PC gamers... they really dont know how the recoil system works in guns. This game is perfectly blended with physics, weapons, gameplay, and mods for the awesome modders from FPS banana. The only flaw as some mentioned is ok, this is propbably... no no no, basically the best online FPS out (until now, because COD MW2).     Best Counter-Strike ever! Great graphics and even better than a lot out there and it was released in 2004, so that's real good! Great online servers and anti-cheat service. Great game in all.

    Amazing game! When I first played Counter - Strike back in 2001, I was really impressed by this game, and now I've been stunned again by the new physicality and detail level of this game!

    Ignore the people rating down on this because they're having trouble playing the game. "Headshots are too easy". Like many Valve games, this is extremely mod friendly, allowing you to customise anything from how you look, to how the game plays. There's zombie mod, hide and seek, the list is almost endless. The reason i gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is for some seriously annoying issues. Weapon balance. The weapons in this game are terribly unbalanced. The largest, most expensive weapon in the game should be a "superb power, bad accuracy" type weapon, while on the other hand it's not going to hit anything outside of a 2 meter radius. And it has the lowest damage out of almost all weapons. Same with the top-tier hand guns, they have terrible accuracy and meagre power. So every round, you'll be using the exact same gun, along with your team mates and enemies. Body armour + desert eagle + ak47/M4A1 = all anybody will use. That dropped my score down. It's in mods that the other weapons begin to shine, such as zombie mod, you'll find all the worst weapons will become the best, ie the shotguns, P90s etc. Overall, i'd say you'd be crazy to miss out on this game. This was the first game i ever bought, and i still play it to this day.… Expand

    People moan on every multiplayer game about hitboxes but this is rediculous. The game cant keep up with such a basic thing as movement and you hit, or are hit even when the crosshair has streaked past its target and is feet away, (especialy waching some sniper kills). As part of hl2 bundle this game is outclassed in the graphics, with cs textures apparently taken from medal of honour 1. spend £30 and buy cod2,3,4, anything will look better and be less frustrating than this. tg its free p.s before people say noob with slow pc. its 3.2ghz with 3gb ram :p cs need to fix the hitboxes and hit reg before the realism of the game means anything… Expand

And yet, in Counter Strike Source you will find yourself leading practically at point blank range. I have never in my entire life seen a more horrible hitbox system than CS:S. The map graphics are decent. Anything else is Headshots are too easy. hitbox system is fail-frigging tacular.     I recently borrowed a friend's Steam account so as to play this game among others, and frankly, I was shocked. For a game so legendary and infamous, it really was drab and lacking. In all honesty, this game is not terrible - fun shines through in the rare moment that tactics become applicable, but the hype set me up in false hope. Where I was expecting a revelation, all I found was a deflated shadow of a game. If you want multiplayer fun, Left4Dead, TF2, and (if your desires bend towards something akin to CS:S), Rainbow Six Vegas should satisfy. Apologies to die-hards.… Expand

Reason why Source requires a bit more skill its because in 1.6 when bullets hit the wall they look like some kind of small explosions.. and with that you can spray to the head with a lot more ease. Yes, CS 1.6 is still great, but Source is really much more worth playing IF you have a good computer and a decent internet connection. Tons of mods, amazing gameplay, a huge world wide community, basiclly, a completly awesome and addicting game. 10 out of 10 in FPS class.… Expand

    This is an excellent game but because it requires online play one of the most important factors is a fair playing field and unfortunately this is no longer possible as the VAC anti-cheat system does not work fast enough to detect the newest cheaters. Many of the downloadable cheats for this game are updated before VAC updates. The cheats that are being used are usually aimbot set to toggle "on" or "off" on a key bind (usually middle mouse click mouse wheel down) and click it whenever they need that last second headshot or pretty much whenever they feel like it. I have competed at multiple LAN tournaments and never had problems like you see in online play. Registering and competing in CAL is another way to find a more even playing field. It is a good idea to keep in mind also though that many players are banned from the game every year during competition for cheating also. The only real fun for veteran CS players in this game anymore will most likely be running and managing your own server to make up where the VAC system fails or playing with a close group of friends. One of the more creative and fun sides of the game are the custom maps that allow mini games of all kinds from climbing, rpg, hide and seek, surfing, dodge ball and others.… Expand

    This is an overall great game. Solid in form runs great having the Source engine. graphics are still nice by my standards today. In fact ive been to many a few game servers featuring mods such as "zombie mod", "Surf" (as mentioned earlier) and even copies of other games such as World of Warcraft, Even downhill skiing and musical chairs aren't out of the question (thats right MUSICAL CHAIRS) going to a zombie mod server Ive noticed that many of the players are at least under the age of 15. I cannot comment on the nature of the online players because it can vary between rude and downright vulgar to extremely helpful and generous... counter-strike source is what you make of it if you play with a good attitude you will find more people like yourself and you will find good communities online. because all if not most of the servers are all individually owned (almost franchised even) rules in servers may vary so if you find a server with a tight set of rules and watchful administrators you might as well let your 2 year old play the game. again... the game is what you make of it.… Expand

    I think the game is awesome. You can enjoy the new weapon models the maps better than cs 1.6. At first i always thought that cs 1.6 was better than css but i guess i was wrong. God Job Valve.

This is a must have for anyone into mutiplayer gaming, period..Bought this verion when released and still play it weekly for the past 4 years, never gets old, all kinds of mods out there from escape maps to zombie servers..The Source engine is near perfect. So the game doesn't reach its full potential. The game could be much more exciting and challenging with a better weapon balance, giving smart players who can make good choises a chance vs players with good aim. There is no choises and all you need is to press the autobuy button every round to stay on top. Because of this the game remains a game mainly only for teenagers. Without weapon variety there is less strategy and tactics, and the few overpowered weapons also are so called no-brainer weapons as they're THE BEST WEAPONS AT ANY RANGE. So overall the game is not demanding as you don't have to think at all things like: What weapon you get, what weapons your teammates have, what weapons your opponents have, from what range you should engage the enemy from with the weapon you have, what weapon you should choose when you go this or that route, and so on. The only reason why CS:S still keeps being played is because of the big amount of mods (most are just mods for teenagers though - nothing hardcore).… Expand

    Counter-Strike Source is very engaging and probably my favorite shooter. It's definitively a very well-created game and a huge upgrade to 1.6. The graphics are without question, amazing for the time of the game coming out, and yes, the physics can be a little buggy at times, but all of these issues in the game have resulted in fun exploiting and finding ways to kill yourself withCounter-Strike Source is very engaging and probably my favorite shooter.     I've seen many reviews about Counter-Strike: Source now.
    Some like it and some dont. I personally love all Counter-Strike versions. Especially Source. Everytime I'm playing it, I cant stop. The game is like a drug and there is no way for me to stop playing it. But thats all what a Videogame needs.

    This game failed at improving counter-strike as the competitive game it should be. It lacks the feel and the competitiveness that goldsrc counter-strike has. The graphics don't make up for it (heck, they don't even update css to the latest source engine version). Hopefully the guys at cspromod will make a better job.

    Counter strike source really is a great game but it would be better if it came out for ps3 and xbox 360 the ratings would be higher and hell of alot more players would be interested in the game..But hey i love the game for the pc but the hackers an everything just gets old after awhile..

    It has been the best game since counter-strike 1.6. Ever since css came out, it brought cs alive again causing all the players who quit cs 1.6 to start playin css again. This game is the best game in the whole world because of all the cool maps and mods there are for this game. However valve should do something about the hackcers in this game.     I found out the hard way that this isn't counter-strike. Its a bunch of noobs playing counter strike. The start of the round is apparently just like in Scooby Doo when Fred says,"Lets split up and look for clues". It takes strategy to even play the other CS but that is only sometimes present in this game. I thought I got out of the TF2 and L4D noob swamp, its not as bad, but I'm I found out the hard way that this isn't counter-strike. Its a bunch of noobs playing counter strike.     I LOVE IT. this game is just too stunning with WONDROUS textures and graphics and AWESOME dynamic lightning, if you haven't played this game or any games from the half-life series, YOU ARE MISSING OUT. you are NO hardcore gamer until you have experienced one of Valve's games. so what'cha waiting for? get going!

    Best game developed by Valve by far! ive been gaming for atleast 14 years now and this game takes the cake fro me its a fast paced multiplayed online game that requires you to use team work and rely on your teammates to help you out. over all this game ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!

    I'm bored of people who stay in the past saying "1.6 is better". Its like keep using windows 3.1 or playing Fifa 96 instead Fifa 09. In fact, how u can compare a superb physics motor Havoc with a crappy old one of 90's and even say "is better". Some changes are for bad, i know, but changes in this game are not. Keep playing Age of E. Conquerors instead of Age III.

    This is an outstanding first person shooter that never looses its ability to keep a player on the edge of his/her seat. It's more then a game! It's beautiful graphics, the balance of the game and the physics are the very asset that makes Counter-Strike what it is - SUPERIOR!!!

    However, CS:S is not limited to the few VALVe maps included. Thousands of community-made maps and mods keep things fresh and lively. Getting bored of Assault gameplay? Try    Definately among my top 3 favorite FPS games, Counter-Strike: Source delivers. Gameplay is great, except for largely overpowered weapons such as AWP Snipers.     Been playing since 07, and the game is pretty fun, only thing is that a lot of the shots that should have landed are wayy off, and the random sprayer bullets are the ones that land headshots. Its an ok game and worth a try, but don't be surprised when that shot you made that should have been a headshot didn't land, and instead the sprayer from across the map headshots you.

    Counter-Strike: Source is a very good game. I believe it has some of the best gameplay, and pretty good graphics. The short games mean you can start it up and have several games played within a half hour.

    Excellent game. Just like counter-strike 1.6, but much better quality and gameplay. Don't listen to Jonathan R this game is a classic (one of the best shooting game experience ever). I give it 10/10 for a amazing design, experience and gameplay.

    The game has some issues with using Vista, but it's no big deal.. Vista reports that Half life has stopped responding when you close it or end game.. out side of that it runs perfectly and is on of the best games ever.. that is the only reason that i gave it a 8 and not a perfect 10 that it deserves.

    The original, valve-made game would get a 6 because of the repetative gameplay and lack of the amount of weapons, but it gets a 9 because of all the mods out there, such as surf, gungame, RPG, and so on. Only reason I gave it a 9 is because it's dissapointing how Valve didn't include all these great mods with the game

    Unrealistic physics, the recoil isn't accurate enough. System requirements are too high for my computer. A lot of hackers and not enough admins. Hitboxes seem to be way off of the target.

    Worst rip off of Counter-Strike 1.6 and a mockery to cs's competitive edge. With overly detailed maps and odd player model hitboxes, Counter-Strike: Source leaves the me saying, "WTF?"

    Valve has done a sterling job of moving a flagship franchise over to a new engine. Whilst the gameplay guts come over correct and intact, (which may disappoint some), Counter-Strike: Source is an even more engrossing and captivating experience, capable of sapping hours of your time, and even the worst "1337 g33zers" abusing voice chat can't spoil the fun you'll have with it.

    Counter-Strike: Source is, once you've gained a knack for it, the most consistently rewarding and surprising team-based shoot-'em-up available on the PC today. It's been dressed up nicely for its relaunch in 2004, but it wasn't broken, and Valve hasn't fixed it.
