I think Activision would be best creating an excellent next gen engine, with 20 map packs, and then sell map packs every 3 or 6 months and call It Call Of Duty Online, they could then actually bring new maps instead of keep recycling the old ones. They could also sell the story in chapters like half life (as Ghosts feels like a chapter from Half Life 2 at only 5 hours long not a full fledged AAA title, which should last 12 16 hours). Please keep away from this game its to buggy, and Multiplayer looks awful with no dedicated servers etc,. I've cancelled my season pass on steam and am currently demanding my money back as the game is still in Beta stage...........with sound clicks, corrupt textures and game freezes.

I am amazed how much Activision have got out of the WOW engine

They are trying too dam hard to be like battlefield. i have a GTX Titan and i get under 45 frames on certain levels. When i get under 45 frames in battlefield 4 its when i'm seeing the entire map with explosions going off and high resolution trees falling and destroying buildings. BUT NO, IN COD i get under 45 frames staring at a poorly textured tree!!

What's GOOD about this game? Maps are surprisingly big and varying. I was very scared that big maps in COD would be absolute trash, running around and find no one. This isn't an issue with these maps. They are also easy on the eyes and aren't dull gray like MW3. Next, the Squad Point System. You don't have to wait a million years to get a specific weapon, which is absolutely fantastic. Third, no gun is 'broken'. Nothing clearly OP like the Type-95 or the FMGs. Infinity Ward hit the nail on the head when it comes to weapon balance. Knifing also has a neat animation which prevents you from meleeing multiple people at a time.

What's 'MEH' about this game? The character customization is really, well, underwhelming. Not a lot of choices or individuality. However, it is a step in the right direction merely not a big one. Guns are also very boring to look at. Not really that big of an issue, but gun models went down after MW2. Next, singleplayer. As usual, COD doesn't focus on campaign, mainly because it's a multiplayer game. However, campaign is decent and enjoyable the first couple runthroughs. Nothing spectacular ther. Lastly, the graphics and innovation. It's nothing new or groundbreaking. It's the same time-tested formula which works year after year. Is it bad? No, but is it good? Not in particular, it's just repetitive. You can't expect such a fast-paced shooter to have BF4 graphics; that would be unrealistic and frankly stupid for such an arcadey shooter.

What's BAD about this game? Foremostly, graphical glitches. Too many times I have switched weapons to find myself with a huge polygon in my face, completely blocking my vision. This happens relatively often, but it isn't that gamebreaking. Switching weapons or restarting game fixes it. Scopes may sometimes also appear invisible, but again, not a huge problem. Second, and fairly important, lag. Oh good god the lag in and outside of the game. The menus lag, the game lags, everything lags expect for the infinity ward logo on the screen. Hopefully they'll fix it up in a patch, but it will constantly annoy you.

tl;dr It's not a terribly bad game, although it's nothing new. Some pretty big issues with multiplayer which can easily be patched, but a lot of good things brought to the table. A few more years and maybe COD will finally learn from it's mistakes and evolve into what we have always wanted.

People having issues with the game on PC I feel have a very limited understanding on the mechanics, as my computer has no problem with this game and it's by no means overclocked or expensive. Gameplay wise, especially in multiplayer, call of duty has gone back to it's simpler roots. Customization in classes has been brought back a notch, only allowing 3 perks like in the old days. This is a good thing, since making a class with 9 perks and a knife, or 7 perks and a sniper with 2 attachments is well beyond the scope of the game, and the FPS genre. (take a hint here, Treyarch). One important thing that I noticed while playing: the FOV is very low, severely limiting spotting abilities on your sides, as well as in the distance.
In terms of performance, the game is pretty average. I would've liked to see a more linear connection between performance hit and graphical improvement, and many others will agree on that. Still, I see Ghosts as a welcome addition to the series, and should capture the hearts of many games once again, that stopped caring after MW2 (like myself. I did play the later games, but remained unimpressed).

The multiplayer, is fun but quite slow. It doesn't click as well as Black Ops 2. It's fun though, also the create a class has made a huge leap from the other COD games. There are a different range of maps, big and small, but mainly big. Not much sniping spots though, only some small straights where you can squeeze in a bit of sniping.

The only problem with this is the 6GB requirement. I have used something to get it to play with 4GB, and it runs no problem!

This COD is mainly suited for the next-gen consoles, but you don't want to here kids screaming "I YOUR MOM!", so go for the PC version if you don't like kids screaming they had sexual intercourse with your mom.

All round, good game. Need some improvements, for example, large open maps for better sniping and FOV slider, also removing the 6GB minimum requirement.

If you like old-gen looks.. stick to a 360 or PS3 console so you don't whine about next-gen problems that will arise.. problem solved. These postings about limits are just plain stupid. 64 bit needs to expand further to expand games.. memory limits are going to rise to explore better features.. time marches on.. grow up already.

For “me”.. This seems to be the “BEST” in the Call of Duty Series. There is so much new to examine while you still have the gameplay COD is known for. I like the features of “Squads” and find the multiplayer to work rather well even without dedicated servers. I would rather see dedicated servers to be honest, they should never had been moved to an after thought for PC players. Biggest mistake the franchise chose to do. Anyways.. The soldier build up is all new and works rather well. You now have a squad worth of soldiers that can also be leveled up and designed as you wish. Very interesting and look forward to more. Graphics are stunning when set to “Extra” and all seems to run pretty smooth for “me”. I didn’t buy the expansion pack “yet”.. but most likely will.

I played Battlefield 4 for 5 days straight before this release. I have yet to load Battlefield since. People keep comparing the two titles although they do not play the same at all. Let us be honest here, they are both same old same old but refined for the better(we hope) each year. There are many ways to play these titles with known winning abilities in execution. I like ground pounding and COD offers that in spades. Battlefield is more of a Vehicle play although to me a bit arcade'ish in execution BF4 “defuse mode” is interesting and a take on Search and Destroy, my favorite type of play in these games. Ghost still has S&D buried inside, however they are toting a new twist with Search and Rescue which allows the possibility of revival from a team mate. I never warmed to Blackops or Blackops 2 nor would I suggest them to others. This title though? Single player and Multiplayer get my nod.. nicely done with no patches yet.. can only get better.

Remember the minimum requirements folks.. you will need 6 gig of Memory to get this running on the PC.. I would also suggest a 660 or better graphics card.. don’t hate the game for this.. The bugs for “some” seem to do with graphics and the minimum ram requirement. I have neither or any bug that can relate to my system. The “only” bug I have seen is no mouse control left or right to change players you are spectating when dead in Search and Rescue games. I am sure they will fix that in a patch and does not really effect gameplay. I don’t really have an Uber system either. I5 2500k, 16 gig ram, GTX670 card and RAID HD to SSD. I call it a basic medium system and specs.

Plenty of MP maps right at release and many ways to play. I have no choice but to like this game for what it is.. a winner. [GS] 8/10

Worst FPS game I have ever played and i play all COD games. This game is retarded in so many ways, broken lag compensation, no serwer browser, host = god, not banned cheaters, boring singleplayer. DLC, DLC, DLC, no FoV slider from start. The last COD game I bought. TY Infinity Ward.

Amazingly, the Call of Duty devs have managed to take one step backwards yet again. It's a repetitive, rehashed, recycled, badly written, downright ugly piece of work that is a laughable excuse for it's self-proclaimed "next generation" video game title.

Single Player game is a good story. Excellent play through. Weapons aren't any better than previous titles with little imagination. Multiplayer maps are very well done. Everyone has stealth for the most part. More weapon add ons and perks makes this game have more bonuses for the player than previous titles. Makes game too easy.

A total disaster. Poorly made. Its the worst of the all COD parts. Game stutters all the way (even after patch). Its totally unplayable. They said there will be dedicated servers, and they lied to us (host system is the same as in MW2 and MW3). Don't buy it its a waste of money.

One of the worst FPS ever played :
    - Loading time are horribly too long.
    - Lag Latency makes the game unplayable.
    - FOV sets to 65°. No possibility to change that parameter ???
    - graphics are poor and sad.
    - Game play is very slow compare to BO2.
    - Respawn is totally stupid. (Respawn just in front of ennemies ???)
    - Equivalent to free to play Warface ...

COD Ghost is a total disaster

    Mp review only.

The graphic are maybe not as good as BO2 but not too bad. A little lesser.

The rest of the game is very nice. The gameplay is as good as BO2 and MW3. New maps, new perks, new guns, new killstreak. Everything work well, bugless almost.

The sound is very good like for the past cod.

    Great game!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILERS IN REVIEW

I'm not the biggest COD fan, but I still play them, I enjoy the campaigns, which this review will mostly focus on, multiplayer is the same with minor tweaks, which is a kind way of saying "a downgrade from Black Ops 2."

So campaign, I liked the premise, these so called ghosts were interesting, well when described, in action not so much, lets just say their is hardly any "Ghosting" in the campaign, these guys are just as loud as your typical soldier. When you meet them (its funny how you meet them, you get beat up by wolves and they poof out of thin air and save you) you instantly want to be them because they wear cool masks or something. Anyways you play as Logan -yet another silent protagonist from Infinity Ward- who follows his brother Hesh (I think I spelled that right) like a dog, speaking of dogs lets get to the most innovation this game has, Riley, who receives the most attention in terms of animation and graphical fidelity, other than the fish. This dog is the terminator, attacking unlucky helicopter pilots, soldiers, wolves, and well everything moving that isn't on your side. (surprisingly he lives!)

I think that's all the characters, no wait, no its not, sorry I don't remember all of them because they are forgettable and terribly written, the main villain is bad because he fell into a river and got wet, or more like he was left behind by his squad- who he was the leader of- and he was tortured -but its stressed that Ghosts don't break- so the logical thing to do is declare war on America! Who is the nemesis this time? Russia, China? Nope, is South America and friends! Ok, so your dad was the one who dropped him and when Rorke, that's his name, finds you and your dad he tortures you both- apparently the "professional Ghosts" were stopped by sleeping gas in a wide open area- ok anyways when he captures you it shows that Infinity Ward thinks that human beings are invincible since your dad takes about 10 bullets to the chest and still alive and well until he gets shot in the head. This ideology happens more and more throughout the story, in the end you fight Rorke in a train underwater (the train is underwater because you blew up its tracks) you shoot Rorke in the stomach, then he drowns, but in the end he somehow goes to another beach end around a mountain, sneaks behind you beats you up, then drags you off as your brother watches lazily then the game ends, wow! That was worth my time! Now lets wait until 2015 to see these generic characters again! Neat!

Gameplay wise its COD, what more is there to say? Well now thanks to next gen, your gun bobs in your hand, fish move (They really don't), and you can now mantle objects, this is inspired from ARMA and Battlefield but is poorly implemented when jumping over objects because it stops your movement forward as you climb, but sliding works well. AI is still incredibly stupid, I'm surprised no one ever mentions the AI! They rarely help you or watch your back. The campaign is still very linear, but there are a few interesting levels, such as "Hunted" were in the beginning section you can stealth or fight, and "Federation Day" was also interesting. I did like the space and underwater levels since they were different in terms of movement, they were more asymmetrical, but your are insta killed if you go to high cause.... Infinity Ward! Riley is poorly implemented, you only play as him two times through forced linear stealth. I end this with its pretty much the same (shocking!)

Multiplayer, I'm not touching that with a 60ft poll, I don't like COD multiplayer. Just know that Black Ops 2 did this better. Besides buying a game just for multiplayer is idiotic and a waste of money since it will be hacked/ abandoned in a few months.

The PC port is a sad excuse, single player runs fine, for me at least, but not for others, I had the game maxed and it really rarely impressed me in terms of graphics, mind you this is 50Gbs! The textures are still low quality and ugly, all I can think the memory is for is the dogs (yes there are a lot of dogs) and the fish, with about 1Gb for the small things like guns, hairy arms, jungles, animations for people, and stuff.

So yeah more of the same, again! I end this with one powerful word, DOG. Maybe Treyarch will do something interesting like they have been doing for their past few games.

The premise was interesting enough, even though the story is as cliché as it comes, but it only requires a couple of levels to become bored to tears to the cheap shots at emotion that the games take with its stunning vistas of destruction and its laughably underdeveloped characters.

CoD will always have an audience, but my gaming generation (and the couple of ones that have already come after myself) has matured enough out of these games.

Look up to Wolfenstein: The New Order to see how to really make an engaging, thrilling, excellently paced FPS with superb narrative, acting, soundtrack and characters.

If it's not my favorite shooter campaign in the past few years it's close. It's cross-gen, so I guess it is in contention for my shooter of the gen.

People will analyze this story to death, but as an action movie style plot it's great. Snow, underwater, repelling down skyscrapers, even tanks and helicopters. It has everything and does it all well. To bad some of it feels like it could have been more like the dog especially. Makes me wonder if they'll compete with Battlefield 4 with vehicle combat in future multiplayer DLC.

While I can't say this looks flat out better than BF4, I can say it looks great. It rivals it's beauty through style, and it runs smoother than BF4 even if BF4 when tweaked properly (no MSAA, low postAA at 1440p) still looks really smooth on my 7970. My SSD made them even smoother. No complaints graphically and until the very end I was impressed. Of course there will be a sequel and I might be in line to snatch up the rest of the possible trilogy.

The game requires 6GB of RAM just to start up, which it definitely doesn't require as the graphics engine is nearly 8 years old now, and there seems to be absolutely no change from the graphics seen in Black Ops 2 or Modern Warfare 3. Gameplay wise it's your average Call of Duty game; set pieces, set pieces, set pieces. The story mode doesn't even need you to take part in some cases, as your AI companions simply clear out all the enemies as you move up, and the clear reskin of the ending to Modern Warfare 2 in the first sequence of the game is just hilariously lazy. IGN = Payed to give good reviews confirmed.

Honestly why would anyone ever even consider this pile of crap a game worth while? I made a nice youtube review about it, explaining how utterly stupid it is from the get go, and pointing out why I uninstalled it and forced Steam to remove it from my game list.

In my opinion the one thing that kept me coming back to the Call of Duty series for the last couple years was that it was at least enjoyable. Despite being of the opinion that MW2 and MW3 are virtually the same game, Black Ops 2 made a HUGE mistake by going futuristic, and feeling a little like an idiot for buying into the whole annual release thing I still found each game fun to playIn my opinion the one thing that kept me coming back to the Call of Duty series for the last couple years was that it was at least enjoyable. Despite being of the opinion that MW2 and MW3 are virtually the same game, Black Ops 2 made a HUGE mistake by going futuristic, and feeling a little like an idiot for buying into the whole annual release thing I still found each game fun to play through (both online and in the campaign) and worth the expense.

Sadly this is not the case with Ghosts.

Call of Duty campaigns haven't been interesting or even somewhat well made since they left the World War Two setting (aside from Black Ops which I completely ADORED) but Ghosts falls much harder than even the masturbatory Michael Bay inspired 'oorah! 'MERICA!!!!" forays of the Modern Warfare series.

Even though the levels are varied and choke full of action none of them particularly stand out, the story-line (though somewhat interesting) fails to establish any of kind of emotional connection between player and characters/events, and in general even though the plot isn't directly taken from another source it just feels like something we've seen countless times before in movies and other video games. Simply put, the campaign is uninspired, repetitive, boring, and worst of all really makes you feel like you're going through the motions for the sake of taking full advantage of that $60. In other words, it truly feels like this time around the developer went into it with the mindset that no one was going to care about the singleplayer and this total lack of interest is on display.

In regards to the multiplayer, the absolute lifeblood of this franchise since 2007 the only aspect of this series that has convinced gamers and critics that silly, over the top, and short campaigns was alright....it's a total mess.

The PC's versions existing technical issues are magnified when trying to fight through an online game where speed, reflexes, and precision are key. Personally I've had to turn down the graphics settings nearly as low as it will go in order to get decent performance thus making the game look like garbage which in turn isn't enjoyable in itself but also makes it really hard to distinguish opposing players from the environment more than a couple yards away. The issues with fairly consistent lag only multiplies these frustrations and makes playing the game for more than a couple rounds an absolute chore.

Performance problems aside, the online aspect just doesn't feel as fun and addictive as it did in previous installments. While having different character models that you can customize (to a limit) is pretty great the killstreak reward feature feels neutered, the unlock system is unnecessarily convoluted, spawn locations on maps are terribly done, and the maps themselves are a mixed bag with maybe one or two enjoyable ones while the rest vary from kind of bad to terrible.

The icing on this mediocre cake though is something that I almost can't believe they let happen. While people like to joke around that competitive online players jump on the "you're hacking!" thing too much, it appears as though Infinity Ward did very little to protect the online portion of the game from being abused by those using aimbots, wallhacks, and other such nonsense. Whereas Black Ops 2 had a pretty good anti-cheating system there doesn't even appear to be one for Ghosts. The result? There's plenty of people using these hacks out there and they're doing so virtually unrestricted by the game. This is a major issue and it needs to be resolved as quickly as possible.

In short, Ghosts completely fails to achieve what it set out to do: i.e. be this new console generation's "Modern Warfare". Both its singleplayer and multiplayer are underwhelming and pack plenty of issues to boot and the consequence of this seems to be that more and more Call of Duty fans are waking up and realizing how stagnated and repetitive the franchise has gotten over the last six years.

Call of Duty's fall had to come sometime and Ghosts may in fact be the harbinger either for the slow death of the series and/or the shift of support/acclaim from Infinity Ward to Treyarch.

I can run Battlefield 3 and 4 at max settings yet when I set this to the lowest settings it still doesn't manage to clock in at 60fps.

Is there at least a Field of View slider? Of course not! Four Delta One had PC gamer's backs with a FOV slider for Ghosts available on their website, but everyone's favorite publisher, Activision, took it down. Now PC gamers are stuck with 65 FOV and it is making my head hurt. I'm now going to request a refund from Steam. I've been scammed by Activision yet again.

The game looks disgusting, the texture of poor quality, lack of physics (the windows in the houses do not fight, pieces of walls are not crumbling when entering or explosive grenades, and so on), some models are obviously deprived of polygons, the effects look faded, and the game slows down no optimization. System requirements are not comparable to the quality of the game.

Anyways, the game is just the BEST Call of Duty to date.It has alot of new features like Create a Soldier, you can be a girl, new knife animation so kniferunners would be gone,no deathstreaks,no OP weapons(every weapon kills you in seconds),no pro perks, new sights like the VMR Sight, the Tracker Sight or the improved Thermal Sight, new barrel attachments like the Flash Suppressor(I don't think you remember the Flash Hider from WaW,it works exactly the same) and the Muzzle Brake, now you can't carry a grenade simultaneously with a grenade launcher or masterkey, you can remove the grenade, special grenade, secondary or replace your primary with a combat knife for bonus perks, the graphics, well, they look dull a bit but they look realistic, like our world isn't made of plastic and so on.
But for you guys that have migraines from too low or too high Field of View,i recommend you the Field of View changer that was approved by Activision,or if your game is too laggy,to find and change some config_mp.cfg/config.cfg settings and it will work just fine

It's OK, but just OK. I am a huge fan of Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 3 so I really hoped this would be in that vein, and it is. However there's not much development, nothing really new and that which is new is largely broken.

Contextual lean is badly coded and nearly broken. I have lost shots because it flicked off or on, which is most annoying. I don't understand why it's necessary, leaning has been available as far back as Medal of Honor Allied Assault, why not just give the players lean keys?

Sliding is better but still not much use, the distance is a bit random and it only really comes into its own if you have perma-sprint on. Gimic.

I use sound to detect other players, in fact I'm all about hearing you coming towards me but I can't do that in this game. The stereo is not good, I cannot easily work out direction or sometimes the floor the player is on. 3D stereo is not a recent development so this is quite a big fail by the developers.

Also the musical cues in the Multiplayer are far too loud, so loud in fact that you cannot hear gunshots. Losing a streak because you missed a footstep while big dramatic music was playing is quite frustrating. This could be an easy fix too, an off button, but no the sound is completely locked down.

Dogs are fun but I seem to get one of two and it's random which one I get. Dog 1 is an utter spaz and gets shot really fast. Dog 2 is a mentallist who kills anything and everything. I like Dog 2, I would like the ability to shoot Dog 1 myself to save our collective embarassment.

On the positive side, much shotgun fun is there to be had if your twitch is up. Close range hits above the waist are fatal from the hip and I spend a lot of time being called a "pump noob" by players at the bottom of the table.

All in all I've had my money's worth, but it feels like a patch, not a new game.

I love this game. Its very fun.Not lagging and nice frame and nice graphic. So far this was my second best game ever for COD. First was Modern Warfare 3.

Nothing to see here in terms of innovation: the campaign is dull, the multiplayer fun. But this time, the air of sameness is a little bit too much. [Issue#236]

An utterly horrible PC port mars an otherwise very, very average Call of Duty game. Nothing to see here.
