The game is not enclosed soul, the game is made to extort money. I truly loved the game. I sincerely defended MW3, but after BO2 I can not play it. I honestly cried when killed ghost, but now I hate this game. It is absolutely identical to the first MW.

It is clear that Treyarch are the lead developers in the CoD franchise and not the new-look Infinity Ward who still cannot deliver an experience that is fluid and consistent. The campaign is characterless, shallow and short and at 4 hours of completion; it is hardly worth including such a feature.

The multiplayer is a combination of what we've seen before from both development houses but doesn't take the series any further as promised. The games doesn't run very smoothly and is blighted by annoying niggles when the action gets chaotic. The maps seem bigger but very poorly designed and often messy. This makes the spawns terrible and sometimes you can wonder around for long periods way away from the firefights and enemies and other occasions you can spawn right in front of the opposition. This is frustrating as the action becomes favourable and unblalanced which leads to scrappy matches fought on large areas in condensed spaces with players then being planted on the outskirts, desperate to find a way back into the mix.

Theatre mode has been omitted which is a major backwards step and doesn't help identifying hackers. You either need a capture card or have to accept your highlights will be living long in your memory. The general presentation seems watered down with minimal stats and features these elements have been replaced by waves of confusing menus that mean little to casual players who just want to pick up and play. The HUD presentation and general in-game graphics look dated to the extent; parodies and fan-made material has looked more impressive.

The modes are a redeeming aspect along with the new create a soldier function but ultimately everything is a spin on the existing format but just adds a twist. The new modes to the playlist are interesting but SnD and Hardpoint along with Demo have been removed which may upset some gamers particularly on console. Even though I personally don't opt for such gametypes; I feel the dissatisfaction amongst those who do and it highlights along with other features that have been removed.

Extinction is something on the side IW's attempt at zombies but with Aliens;- can't see that kicking off entirely but at least they've tried something other than the dreadful Spec Ops as seen in MW3.

Overall Ghosts is a step back but does retain the typical positives that has made the game so popular. The omissions of theatre mode and the in-depth stats in a major blow and in some instances is unforgiveable. IW, Neversoft and Raven who have churned this title out clearly don't have the desire to match Treyarch's approach to the games. The quality and general execution is not of the same professionalism and it's all set-up for possibly Black Ops 3 to get the series back on track. I think Ghosts is decent for a CoD but after BO2; it doesn't enhance the franchise as much as we expected.

While most people are focusing the review score on the multiplayer component of the game, the singleplayer was absolutely brilliant. The story line is absolutely stunning with a rather emotional ending, along with various new game mechanics that were not included in previous call of duty campaigns. I personally believe the singleplayer campaign in Ghost is by far the best in the entire COD franchise up to date. The graphics and visuals has also been drastically improved when the game runs on max settings than previous COD games.

    THE BAD:
Unfortunately it seems like IW spend most of their budget into the SP component, while MP is still rather dull and similar to its predecessor. While the graphics in SP is great, it is rather inferior in MP when compared to its other competing games. The game is also extremely awfully optimized for PC as very few people are able to get a solid frame rate in multiplayer. SLI does not work properly with the game as the graphics are very glitchy and flickers a lot. The game had great potentials, but the MP component was a huge letdown.

The series is showing its age. COD is dated and just doesn't stack up well to other PC FPS games. It lacks the eye candy of BF, the teamplay and innovation of Natural Selection 2, the classic and balanced feel of Counter Strike:GO, the sheer fun of Hawken, and worst off all Blacklight retribution is for all purposes a better COD then Ghosts.

A step backwards in my opinion. I loved Mw2, Mw3, BO, and BO2. Great multiplayer and it felt so much fun! However, the mechanics in this game feel really wierd. I'm still beasting people in lobbies, but its just not fun really. The streaks are not that great. Almost every just gets satcom and dogs cause their easy to pick up. Also dogs are a little overpowered in terms of health.

That being said, my score for this game is based on the single player only, and I have to say that the campaign its not that bad at all. It has some nice scripted sequences with intense action and explosions as you would expect from a COD game but unfortunately the story is kind of predictable and it lacks memorable characters like soap or captain price. I don't think there was ever a Call of Duty game that had a bad campaign. Still I can understand some of the frustration around here regarding the fact that this game is basically the same every year, but the single player is still a good way to kill 5-6 hours but not enough to spend 60 dollars on this. Probably the worst CoD since CoD3 and Modern Warfare 3.

Also, this is IWnet fiasco all over again. Server crash, laggy hosts, half empty servers and the worst thing is that they removed the ping bars/numbers so you are completely clueless about the latency in this game.

The storyline was quite meh, not even close to MW and or even Black Ops series.
Now that i finished it, this will return to ''Not Installed'' games and i'll go back to Black Ops 2 MP.

And to think i was insanely hyped about this. What a disappointment.
Verdict: Do not waste your hard earned money in this trash. Avoid at all cost.

Maps are fun, and seem larger than average. I run constant fps, but still get stutters at the most inopportune time, which needs to be patched quickly. Mouse lag is fixable, just google the fix (its one line in your config, r_autopriority "0"). I give it a 6 because there's nothing new except different weapons and maps, with good graphics for beast rigs, but for your average gamer with a mid-range rig and not a lot of time to spare, might want to stick with CS:GO for your valuable FPS gaming time. It works OK on my laptop but i'm getting FPS drops as well. IW has sent out the random tweet telling people they're working on fixes.
I can't recommend anyone to buy this game, Call of Duty is on it's last legs, this cow has been milked to death and IW doesn't care about the pc community in general, otherwise they wouldn't release the game in this state

Although the space combat makes NO sense, although, it's in space, so that doesn't matter. FIIIIIIIIISH are there, they move about. Sharks eat you, beware, they don't move away. You're in a attack chopper once, which gives out lots of explosions and stuff. You're also a dog sometimes, but really not that much, doesn't matter. The ending is weird, confusing, wat. Hey, lets not forget, they should've EASILY seen him or even heard him.

Overall thoughts of singleplayer; Over average CoD style.

Lets not forget the other stuff as well. Extinction is quite fun and can be expanded a bit if they want to. Other than that it's more or less taken inspirations from almost everything. The challenges you get are solid and not exactly easy from what I've seen. The artstyle of the aliens is surprisingly good, unexpected by someone that has copied and pasted stuff for the last 6 years. Credit to IW for that, unless that's also copied, then credit to those who made it originally. The mode becomes chaotic on singleplayer and I assume it becomes a lot better co-op. At least, it's a new fresh thing and will hopefully not be cursed by the easter egg thing that has zombies up completely.

Now to multiplayer. You get your 5 soldiers off the start, they don't cost that much, then you could spend a lot of time on the others. The new unlock system is nice, it removes the need of being at a specific level (but still requires you to play to unlock stuff). The operations is also a nice twist to the regular challenges from the last 6 or so games. I would still wish that you could unlock attachments and weapons and other stuff by using the specific weapon, instead of being forced to use the squad points. The customization of soldiers is all a waste of time, because REMEMBER WHAT YOU ACTUALLY SEE WHEN PLAYING. Yes, you remembered it, only your arms, not even your legs. The only "major" difference is you can be a fake or a real Which would make a minor difference in shoutouts and stuff.

Now over to gameplay. Since this is PC we're talking about, we also have to talk about PC related issues. As everyone knows, their engine is pretty much based on the terrible IW5 engine. Should've been based on the lovely IW4 engine, which actually worked properly. And with the IW5 engine comes IW5 related issues, at least for me and probably a few others. Being picky on this kind of stuff so "bear" with me. The difference between 50FPS and 90FPS is close to none. 1% of the time you actually have a smooth running game, but the rest of it, it will just have laggy animations. No matter what FPS, resolution or other settings. Needs some quick and good optimization, BO2 didn't need any extra optimization when it launched. Mouse stutter/jumping/lag is still a major issue every 10 seconds or so. The netcode seems to be affecting the FPS a lot more than what it did, which is not good.

Away from PC related issues over to gameplay related issues. The maps are terrible, overly complex. You can get killed from any direction at any point in every map. There's no linear way of playing the maps. Feels also like every time I run/walk around, I either get killed from behind or the 2 other directions that I can't keep control over at the same time, or I run into some enemy 5 feet away from me, which results in whoever got the better ping or the most FPS or the least stutter lag, gets the kill. The sniper "multilayered" scope would actually be nice if it actually did a smooth transition every time, or that it didn't half my FPS every time I used it. They've realized that the crosshair on a sniper is useless, so they've removed it, which seems to have revoked my horrible skills at quickscoping, but if someone puts the crosshair back in some or other way, it's actually worse than before. The snipers are ridiculously powerful and accurate. All the guns seems balanced enough, or rather, overpowered enough, haven't seen anything ridiculously overpowered yet, other than the snipers. Also, when you kill someone or you get killed, you won't get the playercard popping up, which is annoying because i want to clearly see who i killed or who killed you. You have to wait for the killcam, which I always skip.

Tl;dr, good singleplayer game, not a good multiplayer game, really laggy, lots of reoccurring issues from MW3, a game that had big potential to compete with MW2.

All the controls and mechanics are there from previous versions of COD, but if you select any single mechanic I can list for you the COD game like that did it better and IW shows with Ghosts to have severely lost a step in the Multi-player experience (which, let's be honest, Treyarch has historically done better).

This all being said I'll leave you with a final question: Is COD: Ghosts a bad game? Well, no. Not exactly. Get the stability issues resolved and it will be fine, which sums it up on the whole. The more-enjoyable-than-average campaign gives it an extra point (if only for the AWESOME space sections), and the fact that I was able to get it for 30€ just two months after release make the one last point in my score. On the other hand, this 'different' failed to impress a fair number of people. Just like Black Ops II, many people were not satisfied with Ghosts, despite the impressive graphics and the improvements in the gameplay mechanic. But seriously..... 1.6? That's WAYYY too underrated. I'm sure there are ppl out there who've been hating the franchise (and Activision is to be blamed), but Ghosts deserves at least a 6.

When looking at these scores, its hard to imagine that Activision actually DARED to challenge Rockstar Games to break the GTA V sales record. Sure, Ghosts made a $1 billion in one day head start, but that was just retail, not even the actual consumer purchase. Unplayable mess, the game looks like sh*t and isn't optimised for PC: stuttering, low framerates, constant crashes, poor controls and all this from a company that's supposed to be at the top of their field and rakes in a billion dollars per title. I feel like I've been scammed and want a refund. This is the last one I buy.

The graphics definitely became better than previous CoDs. Some missions are purely amazing (especially underwater one), but some of them are absolutely boring. Bottom line, single-player campaign is more interesting than in BF4 for sure.

The game itself was still a large disappointment of multiplayer and in the same core. But the positive things itself is that the game was full of creativity that it has Extinction, Squads and so many that the player can do, but itself is not finished. Unlike Battlefield they spent their time wisely other than making more and more and more. But gladly this game has a large creativity that can't also let the game a large down. A game must have a lot of choices that the player can do which was COD: Ghosts. But they really need to have more time rather than making more and more and more. The game was rather unfinished and unpolished, but it was a good experience to do and try more rather than just a ordinary shooting game. It almost change my mind into a mix score, but rather that, I have no choice but to give this a positive because too much choose a Negative. Expand

Single Player game is a good story. Excellent play through. Weapons aren't any better than previous titles with little imagination. Multiplayer maps are very well done. Everyone has stealth for the most part. More weapon add ons and perks makes this game have more bonuses for the player than previous titles. Makes game too easy.

I'm not the biggest COD fan, but I still play them, I enjoy the campaigns, which this review will mostly focus on, multiplayer is the same with minor tweaks, which is a kind way of saying "a downgrade from Black Ops 2."

So campaign, I liked the premise, these so called ghosts were interesting, well when described, in action not so much, lets just say their is hardly any "Ghosting" in the campaign, these guys are just as loud as your typical soldier. When you meet them (its funny how you meet them, you get beat up by wolves and they poof out of thin air and save you) you instantly want to be them because they wear cool masks or something. Anyways you play as Logan -yet another silent protagonist from Infinity Ward- who follows his brother Hesh (I think I spelled that right) like a dog, speaking of dogs lets get to the most innovation this game has, Riley, who receives the most attention in terms of animation and graphical fidelity, other than the fish. This dog is the terminator, attacking unlucky helicopter pilots, soldiers, wolves, and well everything moving that isn't on your side. (surprisingly he lives!)

I think that's all the characters, no wait, no its not, sorry I don't remember all of them because they are forgettable and terribly written, the main villain is bad because he fell into a river and got wet, or more like he was left behind by his squad- who he was the leader of- and he was tortured -but its stressed that Ghosts don't break- so the logical thing to do is declare war on America! Who is the nemesis this time? Russia, China? Nope, is South America and friends! Ok, so your dad was the one who dropped him and when Rorke, that's his name, finds you and your dad he tortures you both- apparently the "professional Ghosts" were stopped by sleeping gas in a wide open area- ok anyways when he captures you it shows that Infinity Ward thinks that human beings are invincible since your dad takes about 10 bullets to the chest and still alive and well until he gets shot in the head. This ideology happens more and more throughout the story, in the end you fight Rorke in a train underwater (the train is underwater because you blew up its tracks) you shoot Rorke in the stomach, then he drowns, but in the end he somehow goes to another beach end around a mountain, sneaks behind you beats you up, then drags you off as your brother watches lazily then the game ends, wow! That was worth my time! Now lets wait until 2015 to see these generic characters again! Neat!

Gameplay wise its COD, what more is there to say? Well now thanks to next gen, your gun bobs in your hand, fish move (They really don't), and you can now mantle objects, this is inspired from ARMA and Battlefield but is poorly implemented when jumping over objects because it stops your movement forward as you climb, but sliding works well. AI is still incredibly stupid, I'm surprised no one ever mentions the AI! They rarely help you or watch your back. The campaign is still very linear, but there are a few interesting levels, such as "Hunted" were in the beginning section you can stealth or fight, and "Federation Day" was also interesting. I did like the space and underwater levels since they were different in terms of movement, they were more asymmetrical, but your are insta killed if you go to high cause.... Infinity Ward! Riley is poorly implemented, you only play as him two times through forced linear stealth. I end this with its pretty much the same (shocking!)

Multiplayer, I'm not touching that with a 60ft poll, I don't like COD multiplayer. Just know that Black Ops 2 did this better. Besides buying a game just for multiplayer is idiotic and a waste of money since it will be hacked/ abandoned in a few months.

The PC port is a sad excuse, single player runs fine, for me at least, but not for others, I had the game maxed and it really rarely impressed me in terms of graphics, mind you this is 50Gbs! The textures are still low quality and ugly, all I can think the memory is for is the dogs (yes there are a lot of dogs) and the fish, with about 1Gb for the small things like guns, hairy arms, jungles, animations for people, and stuff.

So yeah more of the same, again! I end this with one powerful word, DOG. Maybe Treyarch will do something interesting like they have been doing for their past few games.

In my opinion the one thing that kept me coming back to the Call of Duty series for the last couple years was that it was at least enjoyable. Despite being of the opinion that MW2 and MW3 are virtually the same game, Black Ops 2 made a HUGE mistake by going futuristic, and feeling a little like an idiot for buying into the whole annual release thing I still found each game fun to play through (both online and in the campaign) and worth the expense.

Sadly this is not the case with Ghosts.

Call of Duty campaigns haven't been interesting or even somewhat well made since they left the World War Two setting (aside from Black Ops which I completely ADORED) but Ghosts falls much harder than even the masturbatory Michael Bay inspired 'oorah! 'MERICA!!!!" forays of the Modern Warfare series.

Even though the levels are varied and choke full of action none of them particularly stand out, the story-line (though somewhat interesting) fails to establish any of kind of emotional connection between player and characters/events, and in general even though the plot isn't directly taken from another source it just feels like something we've seen countless times before in movies and other video games. Simply put, the campaign is uninspired, repetitive, boring, and worst of all really makes you feel like you're going through the motions for the sake of taking full advantage of that $60. In other words, it truly feels like this time around the developer went into it with the mindset that no one was going to care about the singleplayer and this total lack of interest is on display.

In regards to the multiplayer, the absolute lifeblood of this franchise since 2007 the only aspect of this series that has convinced gamers and critics that silly, over the top, and short campaigns was alright....it's a total mess.

The PC's versions existing technical issues are magnified when trying to fight through an online game where speed, reflexes, and precision are key. Personally I've had to turn down the graphics settings nearly as low as it will go in order to get decent performance thus making the game look like garbage which in turn isn't enjoyable in itself but also makes it really hard to distinguish opposing players from the environment more than a couple yards away. The issues with fairly consistent lag only multiplies these frustrations and makes playing the game for more than a couple rounds an absolute chore.

Performance problems aside, the online aspect just doesn't feel as fun and addictive as it did in previous installments. While having different character models that you can customize (to a limit) is pretty great the killstreak reward feature feels neutered, the unlock system is unnecessarily convoluted, spawn locations on maps are terribly done, and the maps themselves are a mixed bag with maybe one or two enjoyable ones while the rest vary from kind of bad to terrible.

The icing on this mediocre cake though is something that I almost can't believe they let happen. While people like to joke around that competitive online players jump on the "you're hacking!" thing too much, it appears as though Infinity Ward did very little to protect the online portion of the game from being abused by those using aimbots, wallhacks, and other such nonsense. Whereas Black Ops 2 had a pretty good anti-cheating system there doesn't even appear to be one for Ghosts. The result? There's plenty of people using these hacks out there and they're doing so virtually unrestricted by the game. This is a major issue and it needs to be resolved as quickly as possible.

In short, Ghosts completely fails to achieve what it set out to do: i.e. be this new console generation's "Modern Warfare". Both its singleplayer and multiplayer are underwhelming and pack plenty of issues to boot and the consequence of this seems to be that more and more Call of Duty fans are waking up and realizing how stagnated and repetitive the franchise has gotten over the last six years.

Call of Duty's fall had to come sometime and Ghosts may in fact be the harbinger either for the slow death of the series and/or the shift of support/acclaim from Infinity Ward to Treyarch.

Contextual lean is badly coded and nearly broken. I have lost shots because it flicked off or on, which is most annoying. I don't understand why it's necessary, leaning has been available as far back as Medal of Honor Allied Assault, why not just give the players lean keys?

Sliding is better but still not much use, the distance is a bit random and it only really comes into its own if you have perma-sprint on. Gimic.

I use sound to detect other players, in fact I'm all about hearing you coming towards me but I can't do that in this game. The stereo is not good, I cannot easily work out direction or sometimes the floor the player is on. 3D stereo is not a recent development so this is quite a big fail by the developers.

Also the musical cues in the Multiplayer are far too loud, so loud in fact that you cannot hear gunshots. Losing a streak because you missed a footstep while big dramatic music was playing is quite frustrating. This could be an easy fix too, an off button, but no the sound is completely locked down.

Dogs are fun but I seem to get one of two and it's random which one I get. Dog 1 is an utter spaz and gets shot really fast. Dog 2 is a mentallist who kills anything and everything. I like Dog 2, I would like the ability to shoot Dog 1 myself to save our collective embarassment.

On the positive side, much shotgun fun is there to be had if your twitch is up. Close range hits above the waist are fatal from the hip and I spend a lot of time being called a "pump noob" by players at the bottom of the table.

All in all I've had my money's worth, but it feels like a patch, not a new game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you don't know what Call of Duty is you musta been living under a rock or something. As the tradition says,we get CoD every freakin' year.TBH,CoD has slighty changed every year. And every year it sinks deeper and deeper. After the fenomenal CoD 4 came ALOT of CoD games that were the same.Of course, after Black Ops 2 came out I started thinking that CoD is going in the right direction.Blops2 was pretty damn good. But,that only aplies to Treyarch, beacuse it seems that Infinity Ward just doesn't give a lets see the mess that came from the labs of IW...oh boy...

Okay, first things first:the graphics.I'm not the graphics guy,but I must say that Blops2 had better graphics (I promise that I will stop comparing these two, okay?).I don't know, just Blops2 had more lively colors, but Ghosts has more of a Grey pallet kinda-thingy.Even the character models look dull (atleast in SP).

Now,lets talk about gameplay and Singleplayer.Gameplay wise,it's a pretty much the same. There are some cool features in the game (like Riley, sniping with the remote sniper... etc.),but none of these features are that ground breaking...So gameplay is standard. Its fluid, fast, and it can keep you entertained.Okay, now comes the singleplayer. It sucks compared to ANY CoD I played.Every CoD had the singleplayer campaign, which was a short, but pretty epic, experience.Ghosts threw that outta the fooping window! You can predict the games story by just watching the news on TV!So apparently China or whoever stole some nice ODIN equipment blah blah blah EXPLOSIONS,boom boom boom,GUNFIGHTS.Thats the only thing you will experience this time around! The main character is Logan or something which doesn't even talk...I thought we got over that like 5 years ago!Even Blops2(I LIED)hasn't got a main character who doesn't talk¨!You can clearly see that IW was strugling to bring something this time around!Like wtf?So after a while your gonna finish this game...Your dads gonna be killed,Rileys gonna be shot, someones brain fell out when making this game....at the end of this stupid campaign you get a RETARDED cliffhanger, which probally means there is gonna be more of ghosts, which I REALLY hope not.In terms of SP that is.Hey,Jack you retarded say. What about extinction? IN THE SACK.Extinction is zombies but with aliens.SO THAT MEANS IT SUCKS SO BADLY THAT I HAD TO TURN OFF MY PC!Nothing in extinction makes sense! The ONLY good thing is the LOL easter egg,but even that can be boring after 10 minutes UGH!

Okay, here comes the multiplayer part.Suprisingly enough, there are some pretty cool modes here and there.Like Safeguard,Hunted,Infected etc.The player customization is pretty much THE BEST THING IN THE GAME!woot!*pops confetti*!There is thousands and thousands of possible combinations(you can even be a girl)! There are some special options, like the Ghillie suit,or the ghost mask,or the new ghost mask.Weapons and everything else is standard. But now you can get these tokkens or whatever so you can earn easier, without leveling. Its a nice touch, but it cant fix an ultimately broken game.Maps are bigger which is better and there is A CRAP TONN of 'em.Also some maps can be destroyed in a battlefieldy way...there is a map with a gas station and if you destoy it it blows the up and it changes the gameplay a little bit and it opens new place to camp from.woow...So in conclusion multiplayer is the reason why to buy this game.As for bugs there are few but they are not gamebreaking, apart the ridicolous requerments. The next gen engine is not that much better than the standard engine.
BUT,there is a thing that bugs me....when they announced Ghosts,I thought this game would be more stealth based. That is a HUGE dissapointment. For me,atleast.

So in conclusion, this game is not for everyone. For people who want to play the SP are gonna be dissapointed.People who want some nice weekend action, they would probally want to rent it.Only the TRYHARD FANS of CoD are gonna enjoy the game. But hey, that's how Activision makes money, right?

Okay the singleplayer, so far not that great, Black Ops 2 was better. The campaign is very handholdy, you get to use these cool tactical items but they are scripted to very specific times in the game. Want to use that remote sniper again while your pinned down in a fire fight? Tough luck, you need to progress and wait for the prompt at the specific point in the story. These ideas could have been great if the developers respected our intelligence, like on veteran mode if they would tweak the difficulty so that you would NEED to use the automatic sniper more often, and other times they are just over powered. There is this seizure inducing tactical weapon in the game that when you use it, it basically blinds enemies as long as you have it up... No not pointed at them, just turn it on. I faced directly away from them and they still couldn't shoot me. Gunplay is upped somewhat on a couple of guns, some of them have good sound assets and such but it feels very familiar. In fact I think the weapons were better in Black Ops 2. The story is just OK, Black Ops 2 had good voice work, progressing story and your average likable soldier characters. Here it's really just not that great, the story has some interesting ideas but never really improves them in the gameplay aspect, I mean in CoD you were already killing thousands of soldiers while your dumbass friendly AI shot at walls so I still don't feel like America is as vulnerable as it should feel and your as out gunned as you should be.

Finally, the P.C. port, wow, just, awful. I run a i7 3.5 GHZ with an ATI 7950 and I can't hit a solid 60 at high settings, to give you an example of what this card can do. Crysis 3 (bare in mind it is optimized heavily for my card brand) can run at 60 fps butter smooth at max settings (except shadows) at 1080p and it looks damn better, in fact, crysis 1 looks better than this game.

In the end, Call of Duty Ghost's singleplayer is not as good as Black Ops 2 but the multiplayer might easily be (I haven't played any of Black Ops 2s for more than 30 minutes but they did bring back the old system of gun levels in that game so...) but the PC port and its 60 dollar asking price for 30 gigs of mostly wasted space is a hard sell. It's a slightly above average game with many hours of content but the PC port pushes it down.

The set pieces are kind of cool in some missions, and I like the tank mission at the end, but it also felt quite artificially prolongued and the ending was absurd and silly for so many reasons...

It's still a sight to see in a way though, even if it's to experience what Activision deemed, not only a Call of Duty game, but also one that was going to be the first one for the new generation of consoles, and it sold a lot, as it always does, but it sucked and in the end, if historicity has done anything, is reafirm the fact that this is widely considered to be the worse game in the franchise by far, and with good reason.

Where Ghost fails is in the fact that it is a sequel (don't say its a new series, if a copy and paste cutscene is in the game it's not a new series). The point of a sequel is to replace the previous game in theory. If you are playing halo4 why would you play halo2. When you play the newest game of a franchise you should not want to play the previous game, unless its for nostalgia, and Ghost does not do that for me. I played MW2 the other day and i found myself having an equal if not a more fun time than i did while playing ghost. The levels are better and the perks are simple and the kill streaks are not over powered (aside from the nuke). If the call of duty franchise went as follows; CoD 4, Mw2, Black ops 2 in the same time span, meaning 4 of these games would not exist and there would be about 2 years between each game. I would not have as fed op with this series if I had TIME to miss the game. There will be parades in the street when BattleFRONT 3 comes out because it will have been like 8 years. Sorry Call of Duty I loved you when you were 4 but know that your 9 I feel like its time to call it finished. Expand

The reason I just made an account for Metacritic was to review this "wonderful" new expansion for COD:4. I'll get to why I gave it a 5 out of 10 soon enough, so just bear with me.

I have been an avid COD player since before Modern Warfare came out and changed the way developers looked at First-Person-Shooters. Ever since COD:4, however, I have seen the trend with each new expansion to COD's best game ever, every year. Although they have added new mechanics, guns, and overall content with each new game (And then took it away every developer switch) they have yet to make anything but the same thing over and over again, and Ghosts is no exception.

Some of the new features, such as Squad Points and Extinction Mode, are neat and brought a tiny bit of life into the game, just enough for people to shell out their hard-earned $60 for the "game". The graphics aren't much of an improvement from Black Ops II, and can even look like a step back from the right angle. Aside from some unbalanced guns and some other useless kill-streaks, COD:Ghosts managed to do what I thought was impossible, continue to make money AND further destroy what was once an amazing series. The proof is in the overwhelming negative reviews from players and even critics.

On a side note, for being in the future the games sure does a good job of making me feel like I'm back around the time of Black Ops I. With Hueys and modern scout helicopters flying around, I can't tell if we're in the time of the Vietnam War or in 2013. It gets even more confusing when people bring out the higher-end kill-streaks, which place you in command of a support or ground attack satellite. I can't imagine it would have taken much to, at the very least, include an Osprey kill-streak or something that looks somewhat more futuristic. I understand the plot of the Single-Player campaign, however that isn't an excuse to dumb down the technology in the online MP.

Now, to my reason why I gave this game 5 out of 10. My reason for doing this, is that although the game may be not great overall, it pretty much gave me exactly what I was expecting. I never expected a better addition to the ongoing list of expansions, and I haven't for the last three COD "games". Black Ops II was a little surprise for me as I thought it was going to be worse than it actually was, however this game didn't fail to meet my low expectations: Stale and overused gameplay, more unbalancing in MP, and same or worse graphics. Although I say these things, the game can be fun when played with friends. Although the gameplay is by far stale and repetitive, I can say for sure that the new modes are fun and can somehwhat make up for the same game modes we've seen before. Overall, it's not as bad of a game as everyone says it is, however it certainly isn't something that Infinity Ward will ever be bragging about.

If you're looking for something new and exciting, I would recommend Battlefield 4 if you don't mind some server issues. If you're playing on the PC and just want to have fun with friends, I would recommend Sanctum 2 or Dungeon Defenders instead of COD:Ghosts.

DISCLAIMER: I only owned Ghosts for the Xbox 360 and now on the Xbox One, so this only applies to the game on the consoles. I can't say anything for the game on the PC as I do not own it and have never played it.

So, with all that aside, lets get started.

Ghosts has great multiplayer, and it is getting better over time. However that doesn't stop the game community from ruining it completely.
Glitchers, exploiters, aimbots, triggerbots, and hackers still lurk in Ghosts, and it takes the fun out of the game's Multiplayer, but it again is being cracked down on.

I've never played the campaign, and I have heard of the copy-paste scenes from MW2, but right now, that's all I have now on the Campaign mode.

The last thing that there is in Ghosts is the new mode, Extinction. And it involves shooting aliens to survive while carrying out tasks to do away with the extraterrestrial beings like drilling through hives, and defending said drill from the aliens. It's actually really fun once you get good at it. Overall, Extinction is a fun zombie-like mode, but it is REALLY hard on the first try.

There are some things that I find in the **** reviews that boggles my mind, so I'll go over them.

BO2 and Ghosts are made by 2 different companies. Bugs may not be addressed by the same company, so don't think that Ghosts will address the same issues, because Infinity Ward **** up a lot.

Hmmm... I think I have said enough. So for now, goodbye.

    Sound/Music- 7/10

The sound and music is not bad! Good sound effects and music!

    Options- 8.5/10

    Great selection of options!

    Online Functionality- 3.5/10

The online functionality is just like the other COD games but the dlc with op guns ruins the fun.

    Gameplay- 7/10

The gameplay is good especially with the Killstreaks. Some maps can be good and some can be boring to play on due to their huge sizes!

    Lasting appeal- 7/10

It's a COD game so I would play it! But not as much as Call of duty BO2.

Verdict:Call of duty Ghosts is a bit of a flawed game and wouldn't be considered as a true call of duty game otherwise this game does show a bit of entertainment but I repeat it shouldn't be considered a true call of duty game and more could have been expected!

Ghosts marked the beginning of trash CODs. The story is boring and predictable and lack the war vibes as in previous CODs. The campaign is only about 5 hours long. I rated it 6 because the gunplay feels really good and satisfying and few missions were incredibly good.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Call of Duty: Ghosts, yüksek bir beklentim olmamasına rağmen beklentimin oldukça altında kaldı. Call of Duty; Ghosts muhtemelen benim oynadığım en sıkıcı ve tek düze bölüm tasarımına sahip Call of Duty oyunu. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

It's not a bad game. It's a standard Call Of Duty experience. It doesn't deserve such a low score.

Just text (crutch) to save the game to the list. Such things. Maybe I'll do a review later.

It's exactly what fans of the franchise have grown to expect. No surprises here, folks. [Jan 2014, p.90]

Nothing to see here in terms of innovation: the campaign is dull, the multiplayer fun. But this time, the air of sameness is a little bit too much. [Issue#236]

An utterly horrible PC port mars an otherwise very, very average Call of Duty game. Nothing to see here.
