    GTA IV 2.0 or the Windows Vista of games. Seriously, a R9 290X or GTX 780 is required to run the game at modest settings? And even if you have one of those cards, it will run slow as hell. I have a Radeon R9 280, and it can run games like Battlefield 4 and Crysis 3 on high settings! DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!

    This game is broken and not ready for release. This BS again from Ubisoft. This is one of the biggest studios in the world releasing AAA title after title that are delayed and still broken upon release. This is straight up false advertising and fraud to the consumer. This garbage game was $70 on steam as well(CAD). There needs to be a serious shift from gamers toward boycotting companiesThis game is broken and not ready for release. This BS again from Ubisoft.     Sub 30fps on an i7 running a huge overclock and 2 780's in SLI - This is why Ubi$oft games are pirated more than any other games from any other companies! Because Ubi$oft keeps on releasing AAA games in such a poor unplayable state that consumers think, why the hell should I pay $£€60 for a broken, unfinished piece of rubbish, but yet, they take no notice and keep releasing broken games.
    DayZ Standalone is in early access alpha... *ALPHA* and it has fewer bugs, glitches and crashing issues with better FPS than ACU.

    Assassin's Creed Unity sealed it for me - I will never buy another Ubi$oft game, not until they stop this BS and start releasing games in a playable finished state, only then will I even consider giving them my money.
    (The sad and worrying thing is though, hundreds of thousands of people still pre-order their games every year even when they keep getting burned every time. People need to wake up and start voting with their money, that the only way a company like this will listen and change.)

    I am giving this game a zero due to the fact that it has horrendous controls. I don't know what the devs were thinking! Who said, "yeah, this game is clunky af, character gets stuck on everything every other second, stealth is cukky, etc...yep it's perfect, lets release". I am never buying a ubisoft game, they are the worst at triple A game development. BTW, if you designed the gameplay,I am giving this game a zero due to the fact that it has horrendous controls.     Watch Dogs has been dethroned! Assassin's Creed Unity is now the worst game of all time. Ubisoft is clearly trying very hard to beat EA at their game.

    I load it up and it crashes immediately sometimes before the ubisoft logo even appears

    I can't comment on the story so far as I only have done 3 sequences (about an hour and a half's worth of gameplay), but it's nothing special SO FAR. The audio is just ruining the experience for me as well as the 30 fps and inconsistent spikes.

    I'm sure the story will get better but the game requires a patch ASAP for the sound issue and better optimization. There's no reason I should be getting the same FPS when I use max settings or low... I would gladly play on lower settings but this game doesn't seem to have actually been tested prior to release.     Unplayable with GTX 770. I don't care about fps but Unity stutters, lags and freezes every 3 seconds. Fps goes 0-18fps and 22-25fps. Low settings wont help because it still stutters and lags, and looks like PS1 game.

    I bought Unity to my Xbox One and now I can atleast play it.

    Worse PC port of mankind.

    This is the biggest piece of **** in the history of video games. It always gives us crap ubisoft, seasoned with some crappy textures and a whole array of bugs and features completely broken. I can not even criticize the argument that this garbage is literally unplayable.

    I must say the game runs very bad. Even on low settings (while i play most on high or ultra) i have stuttering issues. Every time i notice a stutter, the polygons reset themselves. This means that your character hair just goes high into the air, then drops down as well as his clothes. Really annoying and distracting. Story seems to be really good.     Lets start with that this game is no diffrent from other Assasin Creed games. Gameplay is boring and repetitive. AI is so stupid that there is no challenge at all even to casual players. Story is bad too it doesn't even feel like Paris at that time or it's revolution to me at all...     This is the worst piece of trash in recent memory. I have a GTX TITAN X now and can't even get past the logos on startup. Crash Crash Crash... and there's no fix whatsoever. A $4,000 can't even run this thing. I used to have two 780ti's in SLI and couldn't even perform.
    Never.. ever purchasing a Ubisoft product again, let alone any Assassins Creed.

    This game is awful. NOT only does this game have horrible mechanics but half the time you cannot even play it without lag. This is the worst AC ever and Ubisoft is going down the drain. Please never buy another one of these games because you are just feeding the monster.

    What should i say, hmmm, a good looking UNPLAYABLE game. I don't know if its ubisoft or the implementation of nvidia gameworks but this game is a total mess. Don't waste you time on it, don't buy it. Hopefully i got refunded.

    I could run watchdogs on ultra 60 Fps and everyone knows what a mess that was.
    I can't even get 30 fps on medium settings.

    GTX 980 SLI is getting bottlenecked by thousands of useless scripted NPC AIs eating all CPU power of my i5 3570K at 4.5ghz. Cards cant generate enough FPS, no matter what you resolution is 1440p or 1080p at my detail I get 50-70 FPS with this setup + -System hiccups -Game freezes 5 seconds periodically every 5-10    Terrible optimization, Terrible optimization, Terrible optimization...

    Well on my nvidia gtx 770 and i5 4760 this game is 100% unplayable lags crashes etc it is not optimized it is not polished game can't recommend to anyone and i really like other assassins' creed games...

    Random loss of save file after over a dozen hours in.

    Luckily this game was bundled with the SSD I purchased for my new system.

    I would avoid and not waste your time and money on this game atm.

    Unity is just not ready. Initiates website recognizes only my AC IV Black Flag. Companion app crashes and I'm losing progress - waist of time. Because some chests and unlocks can't be done without online features - you're screwed.
    Do not buy unless fixed.

    With dual 580's I'm able to play at 720p and low settings while I'm comfortably playing crysis 3 at high settings at 1440p. The optimisation is just non-existent. And it's not even a good looking game. In visual terms it's a very slight upgrade from the previous AC installment. Keep digging, ubi

    I can't believe I bought this game. I can play Metro Last Light on Ultra with almost constant 80fps, but I can't even get 30fps in this game. I will never ever buy an Ubisoft game again. Never!

    I would love to write a review but i cant since the game is literally unplayable. Got a 2500k OCd to 4,6 ghz and a 660ti also OCd yet i cant seem to get even 30 fps. Slowdowns, freezing and stuttering are constant here.

    DO NOT buy this, do not even pirate this until Ubisoft gets their **** together.

    This might very well be the worst and most unoptimized port of all time.

    Nearly no better graphics than the last 2 AC games,and it demands 10xbetter hardware.Whats the logic in it?I have GTX580 GPU / i7 2600K CPU / 8 GB Ram...those should be more than enough to run this graphically average game...I'll ask a refund for this game,if they wont fix the fps issue.

    edit:Purchased a GTX970 and this game is still lack of solid fps...

    You can not play this game for 5 minutes without a glitch, bug or crash... if you even manage to get the thing started or have the top-end computer rig required to get above 20 fps that is.

    WORST GAME EVER. There are a lot of bug i must play on low details to get 30 fps and every 20 minutes chrases. The Updates are big but there isn't a radical change to improve its big mistake. Don't BUY this game. IF YOU WANT TO BUY THIS GAME I'LL COME TO BEAT YOU!

    Very poor optimization.
    With my GTX 760 at different settings gives no more than 40 fps. Very unpleasant friezes.
    Let's hope that in the near future Ubisoft fix the problem and my opinion has changed.

    Registered an account just to write this review. The game runs horribly and I'm running GTX 780 TI SLI. Wish I had heeded the warnings below. Whatever you do don't buy this game... I'm actually a fan of the series but the game is unplayable in its current state.

    and the performance issues isnt fixed at all.. ruining my gameplay experince...
    and i got nvidia gtx 670 x2 SLI and i should be able to run it with a smooth framrate but sadley enough not according to ubisoft that releases a unfinished mess of a game..

    This game is an unpolished mess. Texture popping, low framerate and terrible audio bugs make this game almost unplayable. I would advise people not to buy this game.

    First off, I run this rig:

    AMD FX-8350 OCed to 4.4GHz
    12Gb DDR3-1600 OCed to 1877Mhz
    GTC 680 4GB edition, OCed
    Corsair Force GT SSD
    Windows 7 64bit

    I got this game on Nov. 11th 2014. Did not have time to install until today.
    First of all WTH! 5 dual-layer DVDs! That must be an awesome looking game!

    Not so much.

    After 4 hours of installation (you read right, I should have downloaded rather than install from the disks), I got to install UPlay (update actually) then I get a 800Mb patch! Well I heard of all the glitches and bugs, so this might be a good thing.

    I finally launch the game and get the intro/cutscene in 720p. Fine, I will boost everything later.

    First mission is a pain in the A, constant lag, frame rate drop as soon as there is combat.
    The "hacking" cutscene was not that bad, looks like the game found the "HD" button and raised to 1080p. Even though it's made to look "low res".

    When I am done with the tutorials, and finally can go open-world, I find a chest! Yay!

    Except it PROMPS TO DOWNLOAD THE APP ON MY PHONE to unlock it!!!

    Ok fine, I will get the app.
    Google Play store keeps "warning"/highlighting that there are micro-transactions in this app.

    That app is 450Mb by the way, don't get this over 3G/LTE, you will kill someone...

    When you find out that it runs as **** as the game! And you need to pay REAL CASH to buy in-app points to do missions that unlocks the in-game chests (apparently, I never managed to actually run the app, it kept crashing). Good wasted 450Mb and at least a chest that I won't open in a 70$ game...

    First "sneaking" mission basically destroyed all hopes for a better game.
    There is a "dense crowd", consisting of about 30 people. They have exactly 4 different skins. Later there is a "royal meeting" with hundreds of NPC, again, 4 skins for all of them, plus the 10 or so that glitch through the walls or hang in mid-air because they are too close to a pillar.

    I stopped after 20 tries at the prison escape mission, because every combat that involved more than 2 enemies was so laggy that I could not land a "perfect parry".

    All in all, other than the faces that look awesome in the cut scenes, this game got nothing new, nothing good looking, nothing working as intended and most important: UBI wants you to pay extra to access the content already on the install disks!

    I live in Montreal, know a few people working at Ubisoft.
    But I can't let this one fly, this is a **** game. Even EA makes better stuff. They try to grab as much money as possible but at least the stuff you pay for works.    … Expand

    Plot is boring as well, I don't care about Arno, and hate system that you should pay for easy play. This game is really easy, no challenge for assassin veterans.

    If I could give it a review lower than 0, I would. **** is unbelieveably bad. I have had bowel movements after Buffalo Wild Wings that were more tame that this games relentless barrage on my wallet and booty. I feel the exact same why I did coming home from my Uncle's house when I was a child.

    The graphics are lackluster at best, even with everything at ultra and max post processing. Compare it even to console gta5 and you'll be disappointed. Low resolution texture abound, though there are some decent ones. The performance is horrible, on a core i-7 @ 3.1ghz with crossfired 6970s, a setup that runs crysis 3 and metro 2034 at 1080 resolution with max settings and decent (30+) fps, this engine cannot even manage that consistently at medium settings, were talking in the 20-40 range usually. Strangely, it is not the crowded areas, but just simply random places, that cause the most severe drops. The game crashes constantly on its own, without cause, and if you wish to tab out to view something on your browser, god help you if it still runs after that. The controls are horrible and generally respond badly to player commands, you'll see your character walking towards something while your hands are off the keyboard occasionally, and this is not during cutscenes. You will be forced to climb walls you did not aim at nor can have any use in climbing.
    There is micro-transaction and companion app garbage that is required to significantly upgrade your equipment, if you try looting your way to an upgrade I fear it takes an eternity.
    The story is dull but honestly that is the least atrocious sin ubisoft committed in ACU's production.
    I purchased this game 3 weeks after its nov. 11th release, assuming the bugs would be patched out by this point, but sadly, its still plays like a beta FRESH out of alpha testing. Gamers need to heed this warning and stop buying/funding ubisoft and their ilk, for if you keep buying garbage, they will keep selling you garbage. Demand more, demand what game developers gave us in their pioneering days when they were struggling to eke out a profit, and perfection was the ideal, not record pre-orders.    … Expand

They just start it somewhere else so it's not AC for me just a game where we can fight like in AC. Graphical changes are nothing. Just the same as AC Black Flag (it's ok but why no improve?     Nearly no better graphics than the last 2 AC games,and it demands 10xbetter hardware.Whats the logic in it?I have GTX580 GPU / i7 2600K CPU / 8 GB Ram...those should be more than enough to run this graphically average game...I'll ask a refund for this game,if they wont fix the fps issue.

    edit:Purchased a GTX970 and this game is still lack of solid fps...

I played as much as I could in the game and had to quit before I could reach half. In particular, I worked too hard on a mission and it was awfull. The game and the episode were not difficult at all, actually, extremely simple. However, no matter which way I tried, I couldn't always play because of bugs. If you have a question about how to not make a game, play this game directly. Write everything down from the first second to the end. Let me warn you, there can be as much as an encyclopedia.     I recently acquired the game for my PC (AMD Ryzen 5, GTX 1080 ti, 16 GB Ram, 1 TB HDD), and despite a couple of textural errors, the game worked well for me. I really like the background of the saga of Assassin's Creed, with the Templars, and touch historical issues. But why do I put a zero?
    - Because I got it pirated, since in his time I bought it with a friend who has a PC (he had an FX 8370, GTX 980 ti, 12 GB Ram), and the truth is that it was the 70 dollars worse invested.
    - For the unhealthy amount of bugs that version had (the original), there are so many that if I list them, I get to write 4 whole sheets.
    - Because at the time of returning the game, the beloved Ubi denied us the return, and gave us in return Watch Dogs (another game crap more bugged than AC Unity)
    - Above all, by the damn DENUVO (the anti-piracy system), which is what makes Ubi games so screwed up.

    Took me weeks just to launch this game and then just to discover its a broken mess. Lags and bugs.

    It might have a great gameplay mechanic or story but if you can't run it smoothly and the experience takes the fun out of it then it should have not been released in the first place.

    Which brings up a new issue in melee combat. They switched to a 'fencing' gameplay instead of the instant kill counters that we are used to. I thought I would be happy with this because combat in the previous games got a bit tedious with killing everyone with just 2 button presses. In a 1v1 duel it works great, even up to 3v1 is easily managed. the issue is when you have top fight more than that because, as listed before, enemies just start shooting you with no breaks. in the old system this was okay because we can quickly dispatch some enemies in-between shots. not only are your combat movement slower here, but for some enemies it will require 5 or more parry's and three hit combos before they go down. Combine this with no good way to dodge enemies ranged attacks and the AI no longer 'taking turns' when they attack you and the combat is absolutely terrible. now those of you who have played black flag may be thinking, 'can't i just use an enemy as a shield against the shots'? nope they got rid of that mechanic. Which is a common theme in this game, it has less mechanics and the gameplay is worse than any other assassin's creed title, and I have played all of the predecessors.

    Ok stealth is going to be the last thing for now, all attacks are loud. you want to walk up behind someone? they probably hear you and turn around. Want to assassinate someone while another guy looks away? Other guy hears you and turns around. if you want to TRY to make your attacks silence you need endgame gear, which can be bought with Real life money. and I think this is the core issue here. Mechanics that made the game easier were removed, new more frustration mechanics for enemies were put in and the best way to overcome them is to use end game gear and 'boosts' that you obtain with your credit card. as someone who even like assassin's creed 3, this game was truly awful.    … Expand

    The **** of Ubisoft, basically. They pooped and we look at it. Bugs are still there.

    "Are those less?". No, there are still more. And story is **** I hate this AC Game. Just don't play it. If you like multiplayer, extra content for Assassin's Creed II.

    Assassin's Creed Unity can be a fun for you, which it did not been to me. It's a higher priced Assassin's Creed II

    This game ruined the whole experience for me WITH BUGS even though I was playing on the latest version. Wish they had just finished and polished the game then released it. It had the potential to be a very great game.

    Cons : Crowded yet hollow Paris. Repetitive and boring side activities (barring one) . Unconnected and blank story. Unresponsive controls. Unsatisfactory combat. Plain characters (barring one)
    Pros : Elize as a character is fairly fascinating. Smooth parkour system. Engaging murder mysteries side activities.

    As I write this, Assassin’s Creed: Unity is a bugfest, but technical problems, however annoying, can and probably will be fixed. It is not cracks in textures that it is the most worrying thing about Unity, but the cracks in game design and writing.
