Could be the greatest game ever made. COULD be. In my review? It most certainly is. I just cannot stop playing from beginning to end. The pure addiction and love I have for this treasure chest of a game is explained in millions of words. So I'll just say, it's amazing. And the critics are very much correct.

Historia simple pero muy buena, personajes carismáticos, banda sonora magistral, calabozos con grandes diseños, puzzles exigentes pero que te atrapan, gráficos increíbles para la epoca y jefes finales increíbles. It's so satisfying to finally get that medallion after a whole day of trying to get it. The bosses are also SO FUN!!!! As much as I praise it it isn't a perfect game. I feel that the overworld just hasn't aged well. I bet it was good in 1998, but now I have no desire to explore it. I think that the worst thing in the game is the Water Temple. Everyone who has played it knows just how bad it is. It's very confusing, and frustrating and it's one of those things that makes you want to rip out the hears of your very head. Although the overworld and Water Temple aren't that great it is still an amazing game. I can definitely live with Ocarina of Time being called the best game ever. Expand

I don't think that this game is complete garbage but I am sure that this game could've been way better if only they took more time to make it, making it a bit more intuitive and also creating dungeons that aren't only going to one place to another and using the obvious tool to shoot a certain thing and having to go up and down again and again like the water temple. Also the combat system is boring and repetitive where you just engage an enemy, wait for them to attack your shiled and then attack them, or you shoot them from far away with a slingshot or something else. Again, this game is definetly overrated and it annoies me that this is the highest rated game on this site. Expand

I have not yet found a game that entertains me so much, I think it is because I will not be able to play them the same, that is, I will not be able to play it as a small child who for the first time tries to play a video game. I played the remastering, that was not done to me uncomfortable gameplay. Although I know that on the Nintendo 64, it laid the foundations of how a 3D game should be made and in 3 people (in the first person they were settled by a man named Gordon Freeman). The design of areas is what stands out the most, they are works of art. The music in each place is very good, and if you have headphones, it is immersive. At first I said that I give it a 9.9, why? You will say, simple, the story seems weak to me, however it is not bad (it is better than BOTW), the Zelda saga has games with a better story, for example: The Legend Of Zelda: Twighlit Princess, The Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the past, and The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It's just for that reason that my 10 is not earned, if I look at it objectively it is clear. Something I want to mention is the exploration that the game offers, and that is something that seems super important to me if your game is not open world. What do I mean about exploration? Well, I mean the secrets that each area you visit offers you, that you didn't even see a passageway that led to a piece of heart, etc. Games like BioShock perfected this with an element called suspense. Well, to finish this one, which is my first review, I wanted to say that if you don't care about graphics, this game is 100/100 recommended. Expand

At a point in time I did enjoy this game however nowadays it's dated, has repetitive gameplay, and lackluster story. It does not hold up against the test of time unless you have nostalgia goggles on. People judge this game not on the game itself, but the reception it’s garnered. With that said, I think Ocarina of time is a very good game. It has one of the best paced stories in any game I‘ve played. Not the best story, but the best pacing. You don‘t even really notice how the story progressively gets darker and darker until about halfway through the game. But it all feels natural and makes sense in the world. Speaking of, the world is a mixed match of quality. Some locations, like the peaceful Kakoriko village and Hyrule Castle Town are great locations. Full of things to do, PCs to talk to, and great music. But some locations, like Hyrule field, are empty plains, filled with nothing except a few holes in the ground with 20 in game dollars or something. I‘m sure it was great for the time, but today, it doesn’t hold up as nearly as it once did. Just like the gameplay. Gameplay takes some getting used to, with janky camera control, aiming, and jumping, but once you get used to it, it works fine. The levels, or dungeons are all masterpieces, (at least they all are on the 3DS) and are easily the best parts for me. They all have a very strong atmosphere filled to the brim with amazing puzzles and enemies to conquer.
I love Ocarina of Time, and I think that it is one of the games any gamer has to play, but it‘s not perfect. I give it an 8/10 for one of the best paced stories of growing up, beautiful music, awe inspiring dungeons, but have to doc it some points for barren empty hubs, and clunky controls.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest games ever conceived, and one of the most influential, even to this day. It's a game that, even if you don't like it, still commands a level of respect. However, OoT is not above criticism. It's not flawless, and like many games of its time has shown its age, but that doesn't mean the game still isn't great.

Let's just get the issues out of the way as there aren't too many. A minor one is, despite being moved to (then) next-gen hardware, the story is not much more complicated (or different) from that of A link to the Past on the SNES. There's a decent amount of world-building, but not a lot of story occurs, and what does occur is repetitious (learn song, beat dungeon, save sage, repeat). While general story-telling was never the series' strong-suit, more certainly could have been done. Characters like Zelda and Ganondorf aren't the most fleshed out, but they get the job done. The NPCs you interact with carry a lot more personality than the main characters (and that's quite sad). A more prominent issue though, is the land of Hyrule itself, specifically just how overly spacious and empty it is. While a technical marvel for 1998, not much really happens in the field, and until you get a horse it becomes a bit of a slog to get through (even with side-stepping). Some aspects of the controls haven't aged too well, either, like aiming with a bow/slingshot/hookshot, and menu navigation and item management are pretty clunky. Most of the boss fights are nothing too special and are often incredibly simple to take down.

Really, though, that's about all have for any major issues, because everything else about this game is what makes it legendary. For 1998, the game looks fantastic for the N64, and while not all of the soundtrack is that memorable, it still has its fair share of great tunes and some solid atmospheric pieces sprinkled in. Despite some issues with aiming, the controls hold up very well, and it's one of those games that is still best played with an original N64 controller. The manual lock-on system was revolutionary for its time and still works great. I love the dungeon designs in this game, and even the dreaded Water Temple is not quite as bad as the horror stories make it out to be (most of the issues simply come from switching to and from the Iron Boots). While I may have issues with the overworld, there is still this excellent sense of adventure and discovery throughout the game that make it worth-while to explore. I especially love the finale. While most of the bosses are serviceable, the final boss fight with Ganon is among one of the best in the series, especially from an atmospheric perspective. There are also tons of mini-games and sidequests along the way that will keep you busy. Some of them aren't really worth going out of the way of completing, but many give you worthwhile rewards for your efforts.

I mean, I can never bring myself to dislike this game. It's a classic for a reason, and I still love going back to this one from time to time. It's a must own for N64 collectors, of course, and if you have never played a Zelda game before, I'd say this is a good start.

There is not much I can say about Ocarina of Time that wasn't said 100.000 times. But I think what really is the best part of a close to prefect game, is his amazing atmosphere. Please if you never played this and you're scared because it is old. Go and play it. It is 100% worth your time.

The game has a really good introduction. You may sometimes be confused, or have some problems with getting how a boss works, but after that you get a big satisfaction, because you actually did it. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are really exploring the land of this world. You don't need to have "complete da gem" as your goal. You really want to go fishing, or make your adventure just a little bit longer. Secrets are well hid, but usually rewarding. Must play this game! It is a masterpiece! See ya, in the land of Hyrule. Best game in the world!!! The art and story and graphics for the time are amazing. Still replay it all the time and I’ve been playing it for 20 yrs. this is the epitome of what Zelda games should be. They don’t have my vote with the Breath of the Wild game. I think they took the heart of Zelda away from That one.

Featuring unparalleled 3D environments, a deep and involved quest, brilliant and intuitive play controls, and a well-developed cinematic quality that enhances rather than overwhelms the whole game experience, Miyamoto's latest soon-to-be-classic title deserves to be played by each and every person who might deign to consider themselves a fan of great games.
