    Such a huge game for it's time. Obviously it hasn't aged perfectly however it fully deserved every bit of credit for how inspiring it was. I still turn on my N64 and listen to the title screen some nights to hear that soundtrack play.. it's beautiful.

    I usually can’t stand the outdated controls of an old game on this particular console, but this, is an exception. A strong, captivating story held my focus all game. Everything about this game is ahead of its time and is better than most modern games. If you haven’t played this game you are missing out, but how have you not played it by now? Some people may not enjoy the combat or may not like the controls . This game has ages in some aspects (which I think the exceptional 3ds remaster completely fixes) but still some people will hate me for stingOk this isn’t so much a review cause what is there more to say it’s a brilliant game.     Greatest video game ever made by a mile! This was a big part of my childhood, I have finished this game over 1000 times and still dont get bored with it! At the time it was absolutely ground breaking, you felt like you were in that world for brief moments, i dont think i would love gaming so much if it wasn’t for this game id score it 1000/10 if possible.

    while it's a fact that it has not aged that well, Ocarina of Time has such a well written story, and an astonishing soundtrack that without a doubt makes it one of the best videogames of it's time

    What makes this game truly special is the gameplay and the innovation done to achieve it. Combat is engaging and exciting. The Z-Targeting system was an ingenious innovation that made fighting in a true 3D space more convenient, without reducing the difficulty of fights. The dungeons are some of the series best, being labyrinthian as well as intriguing. Bosses are fantastic, each one testing the player's skills thus far. Plus there are plenty of secrets and side-quests to keep you busy.
    Ignore whatever contrarian Youtuber says otherwise. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is not only and objectively fantastic game, it also ranks in my personal favorite games of all time.    … Expand

The game play, characters, world, and especially the music still hold up today, and if anyone argues that the graphics aren't good enough, tell them that graphics don't matter unless the marketing literally mentions how good the graphics are. I have never felt an incentive to explore the world, I find Lake Hylia especially dull, the only reason I've been there was to go to the water temple, and that is the worst dungeon in the game. Despite that one flaw I love literally everything else, Koji Kondo has made an absolutely fantastic soundtrack and should be regarded as one of his best.     Ocarina of Time segue a história de um garoto escolhido para lutar contra Ganondorf, que planeja virar o "rei" de Hyrule. E pra isso terá que viajar entre o tempo e despertar os 6 sábios para impedir o mal. O jogo entrega uma história simples, mas quando ela é combinada com o gameplay do mesmo ela se torna divertida e relativamente instigante. É incrível como o fato de você poderOcarina of Time segue a história de um garoto escolhido para lutar contra Ganondorf, que planeja virar o "rei" de Hyrule. E pra isso terá que viajar entre o tempo e despertar os 6 sábios para impedir o mal. O jogo entrega uma história simples, mas quando ela é combinada com o gameplay do mesmo ela se torna divertida e relativamente instigante. É incrível como o fato de você poder fazer tudo no jogo influência nele, inclusive a trilha sonora, o quê você presencia nesse jogo é (na minha opinião), a segunda maior obra de miyamoto e o melhor jogo de N64. Por isso 10.

    This game changed my life, teaching me a lot of things like kindness, compassion, and courage. I've lost count amount times that finished it, and even today I know all secrets inside of this game. I preserve my N64 because of this game and I hope that my son could be the opportunity to play it.

    No hay mucho que decir, la infancia pesa (o juventud en mi caso) recuerdo que este juego lo jugué 2 veces y llegue solo hasta el templo del fuego y hay lo deje, a la tercera finalmente lo pase, como olvidar el templo del agua y el odio que llegue a tenerle, al final creo que ya me pase este juego 7 veces y vaya que me divierte, es uno de esos juegos que re juegas y aun da para más.

    Ocarina of Time is the best video game that I have played in my lifetime. This "open world" game was ahead of its time. The story telling of this is second to none, and this game has one of the more memorable soundtracks. Combine that with the boss battles and "dungeons" this is my perfect 10/10 game.

    The legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is an amazing must play experience. Replayability,good game design for the most part. Amazing story, great immersion although not the best representation of Nintendo's famous formula at it's best it is still a masterpiece.

    The standard bearer of adventure games. Often imitated, never duplicated. OoT was what defined games for kids who grew up in the 90's. It took me so long to move past Link's first 3D adventure, and I still revisit this game to this day. I just think the puzzles are way too hard and you never know what to do, so I look it up and then I think "WHO THE F**K WOULD EVER THINK OF THAT" while in breath of the wild when I see a video of someone doing a puzzle, I say "ooooohhhh why didnt I think of that" and I also dont know where to go when I finish certain dungeons like when I finshed the fireI dont really like ocarina of time. And also the world is EMPTY, I once saw someone saying that breath of the wild is empty and he wants more like ocarina of time and twilight princess. Twilight princess was literally criticized for having a large world that is empty. I had to look up pretty much all of the things that I needed to do to progress because it was confusing, I had to this when I played majoras mask on my 3DS as well but the difference is majoras mask was enjoyable and had a better story and I didnt have to look up nearly as many things as I did in oot. All around ocarina of time is INCREDIBLY overrated and does not deserve the praise it gets, I get the fact that its an important game that revolutionized gaming but that doesnt mean its a GOOD game, its bad, I still recommend playing it if you havent but I did not enjoy it and I have done every temple except for the spirit temple but I didnt enjoy the game I just played all those temples TRYING to enjoy the game but I just cant enjoy it at all the game lacks side quests and things to do and you will basically NEVER know what you have to do next and it doesnt let you know anything that you need to know to progress.     Played this back in 1999, bought into all the hype. Color me bored. Fun lasted all about one day, then things got really repetitive, I hated learning to playing the songs, dealing with cartoonish characters, and unexciting action.

    Pretty good game but with little problems like lack of voice acting and simple battle system. But this game is still great. Amazing music, dungeons, huge open world for that time. To get full experience I recommend play this game on 3DS.

The graphics have aged horribly, although that isn't entirely the games fault, as the N64 didn't necessarily lend itself to great graphics. There are tons of puzzles that have needlessly obscure solutions. And don't even get me started on how this gameHoly moley, this game is sooo overrated. In my opinion Ocarina of Time if it's one of the titles that I could play for being a very complete game; graphically is great for the console and the era, its gameplay between control and mechanics is very fun (puzzles, combat, exploration, etc.), the plot may seem simple but it's loaded with the drama and feeling necessary for us to care and enjoyIt's said that it's the best video game. Everyone who played the game loved it and everything about it, so there was no denying that it was a masterpiece. And even today, the game holds up very well, as the game's pacing and dungeon design as some of the best the series has every seen. But, is it still a masterpiece?

And even today, the game holds up very well, as the game's pacing and dungeon design as some of the best the series has every seen. But, is it still a masterpiece?

    As far as the positives within this game go, there are more than enough to mention. Possibly the best aspect of this game is its pacing, as there are extremely few moments that feel as though they drag on for longer than they need to and each dungeon (except one) is a very reasonable length. Speaking of the dungeons, they are very impressive for their time and hold up quite well today, with the highlights being the Forest, Fire, and Spirit Temples. Also, each dungeon feels unique in its own way through both its setting and its puzzles. Another great aspect of this game is the items, as the game gives you access to many interesting key items, including the hook shot, megaton hammer, mirror shield, and lens of truth, all of which make for some truly genius gameplay and puzzle design. Some of the other great aspects of this game include the its good narrative, memorable towns, great boss battles, and fun tutorial. There is simply no denying it, there is a lot to love about Ocarina of Time.

    Unfortunately, this game is not perfect, because there are several glaring flaws I cannot overlook. First of all, why is Hyrule Field so large and yet so empty? There is literally nothing to see or do within this area besides walk to your next destination, and it creates for a very boring time in the early sections of the game. I'm not saying Hyrule Field should be filled to brim with things to do, but considering how full of life Hyrule was in A Link to the Past, it feels very dull by comparison. Secondly, not all of the dungeons in this game are created equally, as there are two that I don't like, Dodongo's Cavern and Jabu-Jabu's Belly, as well as one I hate (I think you can guess which one). All three of these always kill my enjoyment each time I play through this game, as they are either straight up boring or frustrating in their design. The rest of the dungeons do (mostly) make up for these three, but I don't like playing through them. Finally, this game's narrative is quite inconsistent. What I mean by this is that, in the first half, the game's story fills you in on all kinds of interesting lore and constantly feeds into the next part of the game, but after collecting the master sword, the story pretty much ceases to exist until reaching the endgame. Its not that the narrative is bad in either section, honestly I'm fine with a Zelda game being light on the story, its just that there is a major lack of consistency here. Ocarina of Time may not be filled to the brim with problems, but the problems it does have are certainly noticeable.

    Based on everything I have said so far and like 4-5 playthroughs of experience, I can say that Ocarina of Time is without a doubt a masterpiece of its time. However, I do not believe the game is still a masterpiece today, as the issues I have mentioned simply hold the game back too much. But regardless, Ocarina of Time is an amazing experience, and one that I think every gamer should play at least once. It may not be the best Zelda game (though it is one of the best) but it was definitely a game that I thoroughly loved playing through.    … Expand

    I played this recently and I loved it. There are many themes in the game that all tie around the central theme of growing up and what it's. I recommend playing it seven years after you first played it.

    This game is is fantastic. While the graphics are dated now, the journey and gameplay transcend time and are still a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The game has a very nostalgic feel for me as it was the first game i ever completed as a child. The soundtrack is one of the best in gaming.

This game wasn't created with the sole purpose of making money unlike so many games today, this game was made so that the players could have the best experience possible

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will not disagree with you that Ocarina of Time (Oot) is one of the most influential games ever mad. Is it an amazing game? Yes. Is it extremely fun? Absolutely. But is it perfect? Hell. No.

    Oot came out 20 years ago, and yet there are many things people flat out refuse to admit. The game is repetetive, often seeming like a fetch quest most of the time. The dungeons are under whelming if you ask me. The game often becomes boring at times, and most of it is due to one thing: the story.

    The story has a whole ton of potential. It could have been a touching story about a boy growing up too early. What we get is nowhere near that. The story is a halfassed string of coincidences. The pacing is terrible, as the game isn’t about exploring. Instead, its about dungeons. It’s linear as heck, the overworld is a barren husk, and your actions have very little impact on the world around you.

    However, the game for the most part is loads of fun. The areas and characters are very memorable. The music is for the most part great, at its worst being boring, and at its best been used in nearly every single Zelda game since.

    The best part of Oot is not the game itself, but instead, its impact on gaming. An aspect from your favorite games, if it came out 1999 onward, was likely started in Oot.

    It is a phenomanal game, but not the greatest game of all time. I love this game, but it would not be warrented any higher than a 7. I can’t do that. Great game with several flaws    … Expand

    Ocarina of Time is considered by many to be the greatest video game ever made. I first played this title over 15 years after it came out. It was not my first Zelda game, nor did I grow up playing this game. Thus, I had zero nostalgia for this game and nothing but high expectations from repeatedly being told that this was the peak gaming experience of all time.

    The story, feels familiar and follows the basic Zelda formula (hero learns of danger to the world, does some dungeons, something drastic changes in the world, Zelda is a captured by Gannon, hero frees her, etc.) however at this point said formula was still new. There is just enough story to keep the player invested in the world and its characters, but so much that it becomes the focus of this game. Instead the game chooses to be about adventure and exploration, a goal it accomplishes masterfully in a variety of ways.

    First, the game’s level design is fantastic. Each dungeon has a unique theme and even those with similar themes (i.e. The Great Deku Tree and Forest Temple) have vastly different mechanics that makes each dungeon a unique experience. The puzzles are clever, but not stupid, and the Ocarina is a fantastic tool to solve such puzzles. The bosses for the most part are fun (a few seem like item sponges). The character encountered in each of the game’s areas feel relatable and the world feels alive (except when its not supposed to).

    The music in this game is superb and the music also conveys important information to the player such as when to prepare for danger and when certain enemies are in the area.

    The exploration in this game also feels fantastic. Although Hyrule field pales in comparison to many modern open worlds, it was not only revolutionary for the time, but is still fun to explore. The world and each dungeon is full of hidden secrets that give Link optional upgrades to his gear, health bar, etc. The game rewards exploration, but does not require the player to run around the world interacting with everything until they are able to move on.

    The combat was also not only revolutionary but is still present in many of today’s games. Dark Souls and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey borrow Ocarina’s Z-targeting lock on combat system that made combat in three dimensions satisfying to participate in.

    Overall, Ocarina is a masterpiece that was not only revolutionary for its time, but still holds up to this day as one of the greatest games of all time. It is a must play for anyone who enjoys video games at all. It might not be your favorite game, but it will most definitely be worth your time.    … Expand
