Summary: On tonight's all-new episode of X-Play. We check out a ton of new games, like Killzone. Just what is Killzone? Okay, it’s obviously a zone in which things are killed. It’s also a behind-the-gun, military-type shooting game with online multiplayer. Killzone may also be Sony’s answer to the popular Xbox shooter Halo, and it may turn out to beOn tonight's all-new episode of X-Play. We check out a ton of new games, like Killzone. Just what is Killzone? Okay, it’s obviously a zone in which things are killed. It’s also a behind-the-gun, military-type shooting game with online multiplayer. Killzone may also be Sony’s answer to the popular Xbox shooter Halo, and it may turn out to be pretty good. Join X-Play as we get in the zone and kill some folks. Another game we look at is Astro Boy. Astro Boy has a long and rich history. Osamu Tezuka, widely considered the father of anime, created Astro Boy in 1951 as a manga character. An animated series followed, which aired in America on NBC starting in 1963. A second series revived the character in the early '80s, and he was once again reintroduced to U.S. audiences this year thanks to a brand new series on Kids' WB and Cartoon Network. And what 21st century property is complete without a corresponding video game? Hence, Astro Boy for the PS2. Have a need for speed? X-Play checks out Street Racing Syndicate. Never before has illegal street racing happened at such a timid pace! While this isn’t going to serve as Street Racing Syndicate’s public pitch, unfortunately it’s the game’s defining distinction. With street racing games, you’d figure there’s a guarantee of speed to mix with the illicit driving. But even though you can hurtle through city streets at upwards of 200 miles per hour, SRS just doesn’t feel fast, even when you’re banging hard on the nitrous drum. Ouch!Now, it’s time for X-Play to take a sneak peek at a sequel to a game that, frankly, we didn’t really think needed one. The original Kingdom Under Fire was, to put it politely, a mediocre rip-off of Warcraft II from Korea, and in, general, really terrible. The sequel is subtitled, “the Crusaders,” and takes a much more interesting approach. It’s a mix of real-time strategy and third person hack and slash, very much in the Dynasty Warriors mold.
