Just finished the entire series, and it was excellent. Hopefully we will get a second season. I thought everyone but Triss was cast well, and you really need to pay attention as the timeline jumps around, so you can't skip episodes.

Admittedly, without having read the books or played the games I can understand that it might be challenging to keep up with the flashbacks and flashforwards in the timeline. Some captioning might have helped alleviate this. All three of the leads played their parts perfectly. I was initially skeptical of the casting of HC for the role of Geralt, but seeing his passion about the project and the work that he putinto the role I'm glad that my initial skepticism was 100% wrong. AC also excelled in the role of Yennefer. Again, I was concerned about this casting choice as AC had few past credits on which to assess how she would care in this role. I was so impressed with her portrayal of Yennefer which is to me, embodied the complex character from the novels. Ditto with FA in her role as Ciri. In terms of the story and flow, aside from the sometimes confusing jumps in the timeline, LH and her writers did such a wonderful job piecing together the source material. I'm not sure if some of these professional critics understand the daunting challenge that LH and her team faced in adapting the source material which, TBH, is more than a little disjointed to start with.… Expand

Só não ficou horrível pois a atris é muito boa e atuou de forma perfeita, porém a caracterização da personagem não tem nada a ver com a triss. É como fazer um Batman de roupa branca sem capa sem o chifres na máscara e com um símbolo de Águia no peito.… Expand

I played the games, I've read the books and when I've heard about the tv series I was thrilled but scared that it will be a total mess.

Damn! It is really well made and Henry Cavill surprised me to the point that now I'm a fan !
I love the actors, I love every scene and soundtrack that really made lost myself inside each episode!
I'm really happy how they managed to introduce this wonderful world created by Andrzej Sapkowski, they have played really well the time-lines/events in the show to introduce you from the beginning to this fantastic saga!
Looking forward for the second seasons and for the others! Finally another series that will make history!… Expand

This show is incredible. I don't really care what the critics think. This is coming from a group of 5 of us that binged watched it together in one sitting, with only 2 out of the 5 being familiar with the Witcher games and lore.

Henry Cavill nailed it as Geralt and I thought that the rest of the cast did a fantastic job at portraying their characters. Anya Chalotra was especially great as Yennefer. The only gripes that I have with the casting is that I believe Mimi Ndiweni was miscast as Fringilla, solely based on the fact that she reminded Geralt so much of Yennefer in the books he accidentally refers to her as Yennefer during a sexual encounter. I also think that they should have given Anna Shaffer red or auburn hair to match her character as Triss, I think most people were pretty upset about the fact that these characters looked nothing like they were described in the book or video games.

Otherwise I thought that The Witcher series is an absolutely incredibly fantasy show that really does fans of the books and games justice.

And for everyone that is complaining about the timeline pacing, my fiance that doesn't have any experience whatsoever with the Witcher was easily able to immediately decipher that we had jumped back in time from the first moment of it, without me having to fill her in on anything.

Also, for everyone complaining that they can't follow the timeline pacing.. I feel that's absolutely ridiculous. My fiance was able to follow the narrative just fine and didn't have any issues with figuring out the timeline and she has no experience with any witcher lore and it was completely without me filling her in on anything.… Expand

It’s pretty good for a beginning but you cant really give a good informed rating on it just yet as the story shouldn’t be divided into season you gotta know it all to be able to judge it

Amazing first season. I understand why most gave it a lower score. The show can be confusing for first timers or people who only played the games. But for the rest of us long time ACTUAL fans, this show is fantastic. Can’t wait for season 2

Chic series, great actors, as Sapkovsky is extremely bad writer I'm glad that the creators of the series, as well as the game developers have decided to serve this wonderful story and lore in their own way and they did it brilliantly.

As a fan of the books and video games, I found the first season to be fairly well put together. Very good show, better than most. I was positively surprised, given some of Netflix series, especially adaptations. Many people compare it to GoT, which I think is a mistake but it doesn't come off too badly in certain areas (costumes - withVery good show, better than most. Great camera, great fight scenes, nice characters and good music. There are a few shortcuts in the story comparing to the novels and I don't agree with all director's decisions, however it's a good serię overall.

It is not quite the same story as the games. There are some differences like character names and some plot points.
