Will everyone chill out. Why is everyone so negitive it makes me so sad to see people act this way. I watched the show last night. It's good. Not the best show ever made but it's still good. This is not the Witcher, this is the Witcher fanfiction. The high budget is felt, but it was given in the wrong hands. The entire ENT and the Witcher world were raped.

Cavill gets a lot of flack but I think he puts in a good turn as Geralt. He's surrounded by a great cast, with generally good writing. I liked only Geralt, Yen, Vesemir, Jaskier and Triss. Nice fights and monsters. The second season was very weak and boring. Without the characters listed previously, it would be 1/10. Slower beginning, but great characters, interesting stories and amazing fight scenes definitely made up for it. I think casting was done almost perfectly and I’m in awe of Geralt’s and Yenn’s actors acting skills.

With political messages kept at a tasteful level, and filled with drama, sex and violence, this is a much better example of a good liberal entertainment. You can't change minds with your films if people don't want to watch it. If they spent a little more effort and screen time to dig into the story and a tad less on their political touch points, this can really benefit. The monster CGI fights also needed some better direction. Don't let the terri-bad first fight scene in Episode 1 put you off, it does get much better.… Expand

Do not stop after watching 2 episodes. The first 2 episodes are just terrible. And in my opinion the third to fifth arent great as well but they feel like they are meant for soemthing better. They tried to introduce so many different characters. Annoying, dumb charcters i didnt care for. But also they did some speedrun with the development of Yennefer and Geralt. The saved the whole dilemma. There was a point in episode 6, when everything made sens. The characters started to feel more immersive. The story started to take off and so did the characters.

This season felt way too much like GoT. Also the looks of season one arent the greatest all the time. Sets looked so nice, that they where like plastic. Some characters are annoying and badly written (like this review). Hopefully there will be more witcher time in the future.

First two episodes easily 1 star.
3 - 5 gets around 2,5 to 3 stars.
But from there on its really really great. No annoying scenes, no nonsense. I started to assemble a timeline. Just a great adventure starting to get steamy! After all i loved it!… Expand

I am really amazed by this show. I read all the books and also played the games and I must say they really delivered. One of the best high fantasy series I've watched in a very long time. I was not a GoT fan, as it's court drama was too melodramatic for me. The Witcher is a completely different breed, and I love it for that.

Ignore the low review trolls, this is a solid fantasy series with great production and decent writing. Cavill nails the role as do the actresses playing lead roles. If you are a fan of the Witcher games, or the Witcher books, this is the show for you. It is an amazing story, and the characters are well portrayed by the actors. Netflix is terrible when it comes to movie adaptions, but this show adaption is amazing. Overall a really great experience. Very happy after watching the entire season. It does have a slow start, but I can see it’s because it’s trying to explain the new/complicated world to the audience too much instead of showing it. It mightOverall a really great experience. Meiner Meinung nach eine sehr gute Adaption des/der Bücher. Die Charaktere sind sehr gut getroffen und stimmig zur Geschichte. Die Kostüme sind sehr schön gestaltet und die Kämpfe sehr gut choreografiert.

Allerdings bin ich der Meinung, dass nur wer sich schon einmal mit der Materie des Hexers auseinandergesetzt hat, wirklich die ganze Wirkung dieser Serie aufnimmt.
Letztendlich ist diese Serie aber auch unerfahrenen Zuschauern zu empfehlen, da diese Lust auf mehr macht und den Einstieg in Bücher und Spiele vielleicht versüßt. Und der Soundtrack erst... ein Ohrwurm für Wochen… Expand

I have read all the books, played all the games. I was skeptical when starting up because of the bad reviews from the professional critics. They have lost my trust, and I will no longer judge a series based on general critics. I wasI have read all the books, played all the games. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. This is a great representation of the books. A great series and I am looking forward to following all the coming seasons. The reason i gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is that i would enjoyed it more if it was a bit more gritty. That is just my personal taste.… Expand

Great series, Henry Cavill does a fantastic job portraiing the witcher. The acting is good cgi is mostly good, but its a first season so the cgi budget might not be that high yet. A really good experience. Totally worth to watch.

The show could have managed the time lines and skips a little bit better since they may cause some confusion in the early episodes. And some of the visual effects could also be better. TheA really good experience. Totally worth to watch.

The acting is good and the soundtrack is really good. So, "toss a coin for your Witcher" and enjoy a really promising series.

Critics are f’in brain dead. This is THE Witcher in live action. You can’t do any better when it’s perfect. This has hooked me more than Game of Thrones. The lore is just much more interesting than dull Westeros.

Gets better each episode right to the end. Great fantasy show really enjoyed it. Locations, production, action, lore, story and characters are awesome.
