Really liked it! I’ve never read anything of The Witcher saga so I have no frustrations of how things got pictured in the show. Needs a better pace for season 2 but overall this was a good season 1. Henry Cavill did a good job of portraying Geralt!

Episode 4 is when the series really starts to come together, and the plot only escalates from there. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Acabo de terminar de ver la serie, una entrega de 8 capítulos por parte de Netflix basada en los libros del autor polaco Andrzej Sapkowski. Mis espectativas, después de meses de promoción eran altas (sin compararla con ninguna serie), tuve la oportunidad de leerme la saga literaria hace años y venía con una idea preconcebida. Me entusiasma y aplaudo la habilidad de los dramaturgos para contarnos una historia en tres tiempos con tres personajes diferentes, hilos que convergen y sin la necesidad de los típicos cartelitos "Años atrás" o "Presente". Pequeñas pinceladas que en el episodio 3 te hacen entender que estás viajando en el tiempo y esperas con ansias el momento en que se unan las historias. Resaltar las coreografías en batallas, muy limpias y bien pensadas. El desempeño de Henry Cavill que nos regala un Geralt de Rivia fiel al libro y Anya Chalotra con Yennefer de Vengerberg, actuaciones muy buenas. El cambio de imagen de Triss (Ana Shaffer) no me disgustó, pero me hubiese gustado ver más recreada su relación con Geralt. Se agradece enormemente la banda sonora que la calificaría de 10⭐, una de las mejores cosas de la serie. Efectos especiales y producción aceptables teniendo en cuenta que es una primera temporada y que las cadenas (x miedo al fracaso) tienden a mantener el margen de presupuesto. Ahora, tengamos en cuenta que fueron solo 8 capitulos que por demás sólo tocan los relatos del segundo libro "El Último Deseo", factor que juega en doble éxito porque: deja material para trabajar en un futuro y además invita al publico a buscar en la lectura datos que la serie (hasta el momento) omite. Repito, sin establecer comparaciones me parece una serie muy bien pensada y desarrollada. Tiene un poco de todo y el tiempo en verla será tiempo bien empleado, que además, espero sea recompensado por Netflix con otras temporadas que vayan en crescendo con respecto a esta entrega. Sin más que decir los exhorto a no dejarse llevar por las críticas ni criterios ajenos (incluyendo este), darle un voto de confianza y: Toss A Coin To Your Witcher… Expand

I have read all the books and even though there were some obvious small changes it felt very true to the series. The story seems a bit disjointed at times, but the dialogue is excellent, the acting is pretty great, and the camera work really good. Special effects are a bit meh, but otherwise this is a good show. Pure fantasy fun. Looking forward to season 2.

I cannot Express as a fan how great this show turned out. Entire scenes directly from the book. Casting was surprisingly well done. I can't imagine any other actors in the roles. Amazing cinematography and music. Very impressed.

É como fazer um Batman de roupa branca sem capa sem o chifres na máscara e com um símbolo de Águia no peito.… Expand

Shows tend to go one of two ways. They try to hard to explain things and it's hard to believe in this fantasy world when you are watching characters who are acting like they been in the world as long you have. Or they go the game of thrones route and let people talk about history and wars and things that the viewer will not know about with risk of losing viewers because they don't understand what is happening. Game of thrones had perfect writing to drops little hints of lore whilst being engaging and getting people invested. Witcher does not have that. There is alot of lore dumping and not alot to grip you and pull you in unless you sell yourself on this world and the characters. If you are intrigued in the world though, if you can lose yourself in a bunch of characters and story it's a really fun ride.… Expand

There are some other problems with casting, the biggest being Triss, although Henry Cavill does an incredible job playing Geralt. I was also impressed with Anya's performance as Yennifer. Overall, this is absolutely a must-watch for any fan of this series, and non-fans alike. Surprisingly, Henry Cavill was able to perfectly convey the image of Geralt and generally all other main actors did their part well. Personally, I see nothing bad of nudity presented in episodes, this is an adult story for an adult audience. At least, age rating should give you an idea of what might be there. There are two main downsides for me which lowers my overall score. Firstly, there is some discrepancy between the selected actors and their roles, which are completely different in appearance in the book canon. I am in principle dissatisfied with this excessive political correctness in the industry. Secondly, for those who are unfamiliar with The Witcher books or games it would be vary difficult to figure out what is going on here, maybe in the next seasons the viewer will become more clear what this story is about.… Expand

Really great series. Casting is wonderful and everything flows well. Only bit that is confusing is the time-leaping between the three ongoing storylines.

Just finished the entire series, and it was excellent. Hopefully we will get a second season. I thought everyone but Triss was cast well, and you really need to pay attention as the timeline jumps around, so you can't skip episodes.

This movie is exactly what should be. Witcher is a Witcher, only Girls are little different than I dreamt about. Fighting scenes are ok, FX too.

Henry Cavill is perfect. I was so incredibly wrong about him.

I appreciated the tv show for what it is, and I wish critics would as well. Not everyone enjoys world building, character backstory development and violent action. A good take on the Witcher series. Although I must admit that I wasn't sure about Henry Cavill as Geralt when I first heard about the casting, I now have to admit he did a great job playing him.

Although they could have executed all the various plotlines a bit better, especially as you seem to jump back and forth between different years, said plots were all excellent and seeing it all get together at the end was nice.

Like the others, I'm less happy with some of the casting choices in this series based on Slavic myth, but with most characters it was just easy to roll my eyes, turn my brain off and keep watching.

Another thing was, that, although fight scenes against humans looked good, especially if it was Witcher vs. Average Human, when it was against obviously CGI monsters it looked a bit...off. Not especially bad, but not great either.

Overall, though, I'm happy with the Witcher and looking forward to/hoping for a Season 2. Might play the Witcher games again or pick up the books while I wait.… Expand

Totaly love the series. As a huge fan of The Witcher franchise I have to say that I was scetpical about this. But after first two episodes I got absolutely sucked in. Я ждал данный сериал, так как являюсь фанатом серии игр "Ведьмак". Я был одним из немногих, кому понравился каст и трейлеры к сериалу. И вот, сегодня, а именно 20 декабря 2019 года, Netflix выложил все 8 серий первого сезона, и что я могуЯ ждал данный сериал, так как являюсь фанатом серии игр "Ведьмак". Я был одним из немногих, кому понравился каст и трейлеры к сериалу. И вот, сегодня, а именно 20 декабря 2019 года, Netflix выложил все 8 серий первого сезона, и что я могу сказать, это очень круто! Я не зря верил в сценаристов, актёров, режиссёра и всех причастных, получился очень интересный и поистине захватывающий сериал! Все актёры смотрятся идеально на своих ролях, а Генри Кавилл идеальный Геральт. Понравилась история и то, как в сюжет вплетаются лорные моменты, ненавязчиво так, между слов, так что если вы не знакомы с данной вселенной, вы можете сильно запутаться, так что советую ознакомиться с играми, ну и книги можете почитать. Спецэффекты и боёвка выглядят шикарно, хотя местами видно, что бюджет был не очень-то и большим, но операторская работа сглаживает углы. Там, где можно было не использовать графику, создатели использовали практические эффекты, что не может не радовать. Очень сильно понравилась музыка, которая задавала нужный тон. Атмосфера тёмного фэнтези присутствует. Драматические моменты пробивали на слезу. В сериале есть и юмор, который всегда веселит и есть там, где нужен. Но и косяки встречаются, есть киноляпы, иногда очень заметные, а также фильтр картинки иногда меняется в двух кадрах, соседствующих друг с другом. Но это мелочи, всё остальное на высоте! Многие жалуются на обилие чернокожих актёров, поначалу сам этим грешил, но дело в том, что актёры хорошо играют и никто не делает упор на то, что они чернокожие, вам этим фактом в лицо не тычат, тогда какая разница? Все современные тренды обошли стороной данный сериал, нет не феминисток, не СЖВ и прочего, а это, лично для меня, огромный плюс! И ещё, этот сериал-не экранизация книг и игр, а вольная адаптация, поэтому примите это уже наконец и перестаньте сблёвывать в обилии свою желчь. Итог: мы имеем отличный сериал, который понравится людям, умеющим абстрагироваться и воспринимать адаптацию, как адаптацию, а не дословный пересказ книг/игр. С нетерпением жду второй сезон, который я надеюсь выйдет. 10/10… Expand

Netflix has done a great job of adapting the books. The casting is beyond perfect, and they’ve really nailed the fight scenes, comedy, cinematography and acting.

I went in expecting to be disappointed, but was pleasantly surprised. The action is great and the story kept my attention. I really enjoyed the first season. I was ready to put this show in the same bin as every other video game adaptation that has ever happened, but it surprised me. Who ever directed this did a damn good job at actually making it feel like the games. On top of all that the fighting is bad ass. No stupid ridiculous fight scenes that you see in every other show/movie. These scenes are something else entirely. The one thing that held me up with the time line skipping around. It was hard to follow along at times but its entirely possible I was not paying attention fully. There are also so corny spots like when Yenefer is chanting some weird chant on the bed with her **** out and also some corny dialog here and there. I'm no professional movie/TV show maker but in all I feel this adaptation will be something absolutely great in the future and I genuinely cannot wait until season 2.… Expand

Season 1 is a nice introduction to a well-made fantasy world especially in terms of photography, the renderings of the monsters are not exceptional but not bad either.
