As trilhas sonoras deixam a desejar.

As a person who have read all of he books I feel relatively competent to write this review. Show is good, worthy of recommendation, but in my opinion more so if you have read stories earlier. Plot is twisted in the timeline, events in this same episode are dozens of years apart, which may be very confusing to some viewers. Is it a drawback? To some extend.

Thanks to this way of storytelling show is more dynamic and gives you an opportunity to get more attached to each character before their paths cross but may give you a hard time to comprehend what is really happening.
Show lacks a lot of Sapkowski's sense of humor but fighting sequences make up for it in my opinion. I was sceptic about the music at firs, especially Jaskier's ballads, but I have to admit it, its growing on me over time.
In my opinion its worthy of score of 8, I have no idea why critics gave ti 5 on average. This show is not ground-breaking but it is fun to watch and I have confidence that next season will even be better.

If Anne Rice and the Original Creator of the source material are on board you can't deny this show has some potential! After watching all Episodes in their entirety, I can say the show can at times feel a little off pace here and there, but that is to be expected when introducing a whole new generation or two of people to a world of characters and themes, so that can easily be forgiven. As the series progresses the story becomes more gripping and the characters draw you in, they have an inexorable ability to surprise you with things that you didn't expect even if you know the books/games/characters well (Geralt Grunts abound!) I think any open minded Dark Fantasy fan will find a good time here and even some skeptics might be swayed if if they give the show its proper due, unlike some shoddy ET writers did...All in all a great starting point and I look forward to the next season in 2021!

My suggestion is to add, on the next season, more scenes showing Geralt getting prepared to fight monsters (one example is the scene of Geralt fighting with Striga on the CG animation).
I think it would be interesting to show the Witcher side of Geralt and what he can do with his powers, knowledge of potions and tracking monsters.

Even Zerrikanians should be of arabic ethnicity, which makes sense, but not black.
Why do they always ruin a good story by pushing political correctness? This show is literally The Witcher in America.

Even the dwarves are a joke. They should be strong, small, but big. But in the show, they're literally human dwarves who can't even carry a sword.

They've made the world of "The Witcher" totally inconsistent. I'm a big fan of the books, I didn't play the games, but I'm really disappointed in the show. It doesn't do justice to the books at all.

    Well,

As someone who initially discovered the Witcher as a series of games (I got them all on sale on Steam). I was in for a wonderful ride and I’m thankful I discovered this series. I am a massive Sci-Fi and high-fantasy aficionado, I’ve read all the Song of Ice and Fire novels (very gory and more short-term based), all of Tolkien’s masterpieces, and a few more independent novels.

I am a massive Sci-Fi and high-fantasy aficionado, I’ve read all the Song of Ice and Fire novels (very gory and more short-term based), all of Tolkien’s masterpieces, and a few more independent novels. Suffice to say, the Witcher series was much more in depth, more robust, and more “fantasy” than the rest, and I’m thankful something as mundane as a video game introduced me to Andrzej Sapkowski‘s works.

And this Netflix series, while of course different than the novels and the games (yes, people need to realize that tv and movies will be different than source material as they are different mediums), is amazing. The Netflix series does Sapkowski’s novels and short stories Justice. I give kudos to the writers and the actors of this series for remaining true to the source material. Special to note Henry Cavill’s outstanding performance as Geralt of Rivia, which outdoes his performances as Superman in the DC universe.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone. Of course, due to my personal taste and preference for this genre, I realize not everyone may enjoy this. Nonetheless, I implore everyone to watch this series, who knows, you may find yourself addicted to it.

Geralt is exactly what I want him to be. The dry humor and deadpan attitude is spot-on. Coin is what he's after, but not without morality. He's a cool guy is what I'm saying. And Roach is good boy.

Yeah, well, I can't wait to watch more of this show. I'm at episode 4 right now but I really need to go to bed now. I'll see you tomorrow Witcher!

Yes, you can tell he played the games, but i would question he read the books, because he tries to portray the game Geralt with his stoic badassery, but gives no attempt to show off Geralt´s wit and intelligence, which is understandable because like I said, the dialogues are pure garbage. I dont think the writers have the capacity to come up with witty or intelligent lines to begin with, so I dont blame only Cavill for that. However Geralt has never been a character defined primarily by his excellent swordsmanship or his stoic demeanor as the games or the show would have you believe. The show is filled with out of place diversity, men bashing, all the queens and authorities are black or female, its progressive garbage of first order. The audio and visuals are nice for a tv production, netflix has the money if not the talent. Fight scenes are probably the only thing I actually enjoyed. You can tell lot of time and thought have been given to the choreography, but thats where the positives start and end. The show has no regards for the slavic roots of the material and the lore is never implemented in any but the most basic and surface level way. This isnt the witcher, its progressive americanised generic fantasy for politically correct audience that took the names and tropes from the witcher and left the balls out. Expand
