The first point was that Obi Wan was reduced to a lowlife Blaster Jockey. Huh Wonder why? He’s gone 10 years without using the force, of course he’s not going to be the same Jedi he was! Was Old Ben the same as Obi-wan in the original trilogy? No, he wasn’t.

2. The second point made was The Inquisitors are obviously not “Sith”. Again, Duh. Sith operate under the rule of 2. If you’ve watched the prequels you know this. One master, One apprentice. In this series the two are Darth Vader and Darth Sidious. The Inquisitors aren’t actually Sith. 3. The Third point was Leia wasn’t like adult Leia. Um, yeah cuz she’s young Leia. She grows up between this series and the original trilogy. And you see bits and pieces of Adult Leia in how she absolutely roasts her cousin or in how she interacts with Obi Wan. Even if she does make some Bull-headed decisions, so does Adult Leia. Grow up and stop attacking a child. This is exactly what happened with Jake Lloyd and it needs to stop. 4. The final point was that The guy in the black suit obviously isn’t Vader. How so? Because he didn’t have an epic quick paced battle with all of his force abilities on display? Because he choked a few people and then tapped Lightsabers a few times? Hate to break it to you, but choking a few people and tapping lightsabers was all the original Vader did too. However, it’s still only rhe third episode calm down.

My point is that it’s actually a great show for those of us wjo actually have taste and enjoy Star Wars. All the fake fans who review bombed the show ith bad reviews have shown they are either racist or morons who don’t understand Star Wars at all. I’m sorry that you believe that the series didn’t meet your expectations. It definitely did what it was supposed to do and expanded the world of Star Wars. It answered one of my deepest questions about Star wars, which was why Leia was so sure that Obi-wan would help her in A New Hope. I know that I’ll enjoy the rest of the series and I hope you learn to as well.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It’s good to see Star Wars no longer running from the Prequels and confronting the ramifications of the events of those movies head-on. So far, after 3 episodes, this series is very much a vehicle for exploring Obi-Wan’s damage after failing to save Anakin and contributing to the fall of the Jedi Order; Ewan McGregor, backed by an incisive script, approaches the material with emotionally appropriate gravitas and his return to this classic character who he helped define (and helped to define him) in the pop culture zeitgeist after so many years is a triumph.

Vivien Blair’s portrayal of little Leia does Carrie Fisher a great service and is perhaps a better homage to the spirit Carrie brought to Star Wars than even her posthumous appearance in Rise of Skywalker. Leia is also a constant reminder of Padme for Obi-Wan, an emotional core the series makes great use of. But most of all, just seeing the banter between these two witty characters is a joy to experience. While much more somber than many other entries in the Saga, there is still plenty of the world-hopping action and fun world-building we come to Star Wars to experience. Obi-Wan is a proud edition to the Saga and a must-see for Star Wars fans young and old.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think this may be my favorite of the Disney+ series overall, let alone the Star Wars series. The acting is great, well done by the cast which was perfectly assembled. Darth Vader is once again scary as he should be, and the special effects in general are also vreat. If the Book of Boba Fett had been given this much love and care, I would have been very happy. But I can be content to know Obi-Wan was given so much respect, along with all of the characters in this story. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A dumb episode, shoddy worldbuilding, and some odd choices in terms of production value aside, this is a fantastic show. A wonderful atmosphere, great characters, great action when it occurs (usually), great acting, and an emotional story are what make this show fantastic. Obi-Wan and Leia are phenomenal. And you people should stop complaining about Reva, she is a fantastic character. And that final episode... Wow. Obi-Wan and Vader's emotional duel, and when Leia says the Anakin thing and everything is just tied together so beautifully and sadly... Oh my gosh, I'm tearing up. It certainly has flaws, but the writing, acting, and atmosphere make up for them beautifully.

For all the knit picking by so called “fans”, I have found this series enjoyable.
Ewan McGregor has been as good as advertised. Moses Ingram has done a good job as the inquisitor, Reva. The return of Darth Vader, through the voice of James Earl Jones and body of Hayden Christensen, has given me goosebumps. Director Deborah Chow has found a different way to make a scary character, even more menacing. The real star of this show has been 10-year-old Vivian Lyra Blair. She steals every scene she’s in. I love how she delivers every line, like she’s been doing this for years. The shows have been surprisingly short and it seems like the producers are trying to fit in a lot of information. There have been some minor plot holes.

There are two episodes left and it makes me sad. It’s been a wild ride.

There are a few goofy moments (Leia chase scenes) but I think it's a very believable portrayal of what Obi Wan would be like after 10 years of exile. It's respectful of the OT details and trying to tie everything together as consistently as is possible for a franchise with so much baggage.

I think some people need to readjust their expectations of Star Wars. It's a 7/10 franchise at best and the fact that the first three movies were so amazing doesn't mean anything else will be. Relax and enjoy it.

It's fun, melodramatic and it's great to see Vader doing his thing. Yes, there are some serious logical issues, head scratching moments, etc, but it's still fun. For the record, I do feel that this is technically rather weak at times. The score is usually awful, the effects sometimes feel cheap and low budget, and it fails to achieve cinematic grandeur. Almost feels like an ambitious, well done fan film. It should be more than this IMO. Still, I love the drama and overall story. It's dark and intense. I understand the show is very flawed and I‘ll get into what I don’t like about it but as with The Last Jedi, when this show nails stuff, it really truly does nail stuff and it ends up becoming some of my favorite Star Wars content. Ewan McGregor is obviously the best part of this show. His performance is amazing and even better than it was in the prequels as the dialogue is a lot better. I loved seeing him back in this role and I liked how they treated him in the same vein as Luke from The Last Jedi where he’s a broken man and cut off from the force and has to find his way to being the hero again this time in the form of Leia. I liked Leia in this show. While the actress’s performance wasn’t amazing, the mannerisms and dialogue felt like Leia in my opinion. Hayden Christensen did a great job when he wasn’t under the Vader mask and his performance was definitely better than the prequels. I loved Vader in the show and his dynamic with Obi-Wan. Vader felt like a serious threat and some of his scenes were badass especially their final duel at the end of the show. Their final dual has issues in terms of presentation but the emotion and performances really carry it and it can feel emotional if you love Obi-Wan like I do. My issue with the final duel is that the camera shakes way too much. This is a criticism of the show in general. They don’t really like to keep the camera still and it does get annoying after a while. Some of the sets also feel somewhat cheap at times. Not all the sets feel like this but Vader’s castle just feels off and same with the sets in Episode 3. I think Reva is a fun addition to the universe. She does make some contradictory decisions in terms of who she is but I enjoyed seeing what they did with her. Deborah Chow’s direction was kind of mixed to me. It worked sometimes and other times it didn’t which is strange because her direction in shows like Better Call Saul is fantastic. The music is great as well. It’s not the best in the world but it works very well for the show although I wished they had pulled some more tracks from the movies themselves. John Williams original theme for the show is great though. The fan service wasn’t too overbearing like it can be with other shows and it makes sense for this show. This is a great addition to the Star Wars universe that I would definitely recommend checking out. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While it's too early to tell, I think this series is pretty fun so far!
I can certainly see why many other hardcore fans would be disappointed, and I fully respect their opinions, but personally, I can only agree with a few.

Obi-Wan (McGregor's) performance is always stunning, and seeing him broken after revenge of the sith feels appropiate, not character assasination like many claim. This "lowest point" in his character sets up his line in his fight with maul. "Look what I have risen above"

Child Leia, once again, is underestandable for people to dislike. But for me? I thought it was fun! Of course, I'm as fed up as anyone with every series needing to have the "little kiddie character!!!" but in this case I enjoy the premise. We always see Luke during this time period, never Leia, and as someone who was never too invested in her character during the OT movies, I think seeing this will help! The acting for her is mostly as good as can be expected of a child, although her actions and dialogue do feel a little corny at times, they need to keep it in check.
the Vader scene felt intense, and the action overall is really good! Unlike some ppl say, I like the music! Sure, there's some small nitpicks to have with the flow of the action but so far (episode 3) nothing too deal-breaking. The acting for the grand inquisitor and the other two alien inquisitors is great, better than rebels for sure, and I already liked the Grand Inquisitor from Rebels!

Now, the elephant in the room. Yeah, Reva is a boring and lame villain. I feel like there's more to her we don't know, and dependign on how it's handled it might make her more likeable, but right now she's not scary, not badass, not cool-looking, doesn't have any interesting demeanor, and is just overall absolutely lame as a villain. Reva should've been replaced by the grand inquisitor

3rd Episode Edit: It gets better, Leia is pretty fun and not as annoying as other child sidekicks, there's lots of exciting and tense moments where I was actually tense about the characters and caring about what would happen to them. Reva slowly gets better. While the direction / design for her isn't that good IMO, the acting is good and she slowly becomes less annoying. i still don't like her as a character overall, but she's not really ruining the show for me either as others claim

Script is on the weaker side and plot holes are definitely there. What alot of the negative reviews seem to not grasp is that Obi-wan is a broken man . It's not that he "forgot" how to use the force it's that he has cut himself off from it. It's like people forgot he is in hiding and being hunted. He is broken because he thought he killed his brother and watched a good friend die. As for the third sister she is cringy at best but it's because she is not a great actress. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While it isn’t a 100% smooth start, Obi-Wan Kenobi is good at what it does. Star Wars writing has always been cheesy, it’s part of the appeal. A man is not going to be in good shape after surviving a genocide and losing almost all of his close friends. This show is about him finding himself again, learning to overcome and grow stronger because of it. I don’t believe most of the negative reviews to be valid, it is not a perfect show by any means but so much of the criticisms are direct misunderstanding of the source material. We’re three episodes in at this point, let the story play out before you throw your fit. Expand

In terms of negative reviews, outside of the angry mob of people hate bombing this for being “woke” (which now just means a poc or women exist in the story), crying that Disney has an agenda (when really it’s them with the agenda), I see a stark divide between Star Wars Fans who have watched the animated stuff and those who haven’t. If you fall in the latter, I suggest watching those shows. They are not only cannon but they add to the experience of these live action shows. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall, the series is excellent thus far. Some fans may initially be put off by Obi-Wan's very apparent defeated state-of-mind, but patient fans will be rewarded with the character development that results from it. Obi-Wan's reluctance and downright refusal to help or intervene in situations the Jedi Master audiences know would have previously engaged in only highlights how deeply the character was impacted from the Republic's downfall, the destruction of the Jedi Order, and yes, the loss of Anakin. This starting place fills in the gap of understanding just how much losing Anakin impacted him and how close Obi-Wan felt to Anakin, something the Prequels did not establish well, in my opinion. A minor criticism would be the way in which Obi-Wan learns that his former friend did not die on Mustafar and actually survived and is actively seeking him out lacked gravitas and feels like afterthought. I can only think of the failed opportunity for Obi-Wan to have learned the truth from the actual encounter with Vader, a poetic echo resembling the way Luke learned the truth in Empire Strikes Back. On the other hand, a strength of this series is the relationship that begins to build between Obi-Wan and the other twin, doing justice for the character as well as Padme's legacy. It helps to highlight that both twins would be integral to the eventual downfall of the Empire. Fans can understandably be confused or disappointed as the Obi-Wan we are presented with appears to lack the moral clarity seen in the Prequels or the return-to action call in a New Hope, but I believe that fans will see Obi-Wan regain his mojo and confidence. There is no question that Obi-Wan has, despite his demons, not abandoned the hope for the Jedi. Audiences only have to see how much he watches over Luke to know this to be true. He's defeated, but like good hero stories, even the best have to fall down and get back up again. After all, thanks to Star Wars Rebels, we know that Obi-Wan achieves his return to purpose. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While this Star Wars show does not have the budget of past movies, as of episode 3 it has succeeded to create convincing sets and while some may be annoyed by a little girls ability to escape from grown men, (This show is not just for adults) her acting ability is great. I reserve my final judgement until the show is over, but I am happy with the treatment and return of our cult characters Obi-wan and Vader. As long as future star wars is held to at least this bar, any star wars fan should be happy. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ve enjoyed the show so far. It’s not without its problems (not a fan of the chase scenes), but I think it’s been well-executed for the most part. Vader has been my favorite part of the series and is more akin to comic and video game Vader. This is one of the first times we see the raw ruthlessness of Vader in live action and I’m all for it. This review could go up or down with future episodes, depending on if/how they address how the third sister knows who Vader is and what happened to the Grand Inquisitor (he is alive and well in the animated series, Rebels).

I’m excited to see where the last few episodes go!

I am writing this as a fan of the OT and the PT I did not care for the sequel trilogy. Mandalorian is great so far and The Book of Boba Fett neutered the titular character. I have never seen any Star Wars Aniamted shows, so that's the sumamry of my perspective on the franchise.

Episode 1: It seems solid so far. There's a little goofiness with the chase scene involving Leia and her captors about 40 minutes in. You can really see the actors doing the chasing really trying their best to work with the dumb obstacles they were given to allow Leia to escape. Still not sure if Third Sister's intentions are overblown or not. Ewan Macgregor is great. 7/10 Episode 2: What do they have against bringing Nar Shadaa into the mvoies? Daiyu's basically Nar Shadaa, why not just give it a name fans will recognize? The jedi imposter was written too comedically, in my opinion. Another Leia chase scene where the adult can't catchh up her, actor has to clumsily bump into things to make it so Leia's actress can escape. I think the writers could've done better to allow her to slip away more believably. Nice reveal to the character at the end. 8/10

Episode 3: The opening is totally trailer bait. I dig it. "Have you ever been afraid of the dark? How does it feel when you turn on the light?" Ewan's the best. Wow, this planet looks just like California :D Obi-Wan's trauma and hallucinations make sense for his character. Ned-8 was about to smash some skulls with a hammer o_o I'm really glad Disney allowed Vader to be Vader and didn't sugarcoat him. "I am what you made me" Reiva nearly teared up when she saw the Jedi Order insignia on the wall. She was one of the younglings in the beginning. Clumsy writing toward the end though. Vader could've easily stopped them from rescuing Obi-Wan 7/10

All in all, I'm way more interested in this than the Book of Boba Fett, but not as excited as I was about The Mandalorian. I give this a solid 7.5/10 I'll round up to be optimistic, but some of the writing has been clumsy. I'm half-expecting Reiva to clumsily run into a tree branch in the tunnels to allow Leia to escape at the beginning of next episode though.

Sure Reva and the rest of the Inquisitors completely suck but they are meant to, they are scrub wannabe Sith who don't deserve the title and thus act accordingly. Plenty of Vader screentime which surprised me only half way into the season. I look forward to the rest of the episodes.

Obi Wan, who killed Darth Maul and crippled Vader, is basically a normal person from a decade of skipping Jedi Leg Day, despite presumably hoping to train Luke. Even though he previously crippled Darth Vader in the prequels, Darth Vader beats him like a child in this series. They face off, Kenobe 'nopes' and just runs away like a scared child. There are some giant holes in the plot as well, like when people are fleeing in a one way tunnel and the bad guy discovers the tunnel sometime later and somehow winds up on the other side of it to catch them as they exit. It's not bad as a star wars story, but as of 4 episodes it's weak as a Kenobe story and leaves Kenobe feeling like a secondary character. It's still entertaining though, which is why it's in the green, and its worth trying to see if you'll like it. This thing is in the red only in the sense of how high a bar it has to set. Expand
