I love nearly everything about it. I have been hoping for this for quite awhile!. Kenobi and Vader are perfect. Leia could not be more amazing. Only issue is a couple chase scenes and the parkour scene, but those are minor quibbles. 10/10!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Amazing. Sad to see that so called fans have so many criticism. You’re not watching a movie, you watching a show where writers have time to let the story and characters develop. Some call Obi wan a coward for not acting in the first episode and some of the second and running away in the 3rd. You don’t understand how broken that man is after 10 YEARS of shutting himself off from the force and living with his demons. The portrayal of Obi wan is absolutely precede the and anything different would have been leaning away from the skywalker storyline. If you don’t have anything nice to say about the show leave it to the true Star Wars fans who understand the cannon to enjoy it and don’t ruin it for us. Expand

I'm very interested to see how he reconciles his past and becomes the happier and more hopeful version of the character that was portrayed by Alec Guinness. I've never seen Darth Vader be so brutal as he was in Part III, not even his hallway scene in Rogue One was this scary.

To all the people who say the Vader v Obi-Wan fight was very underwhelming, it was meant to be. This fight was meant to show how much Obi-Wan had weakened over the years and was not meant to be the "rematch of the century" that was promised. Wait until the last episode, then I'm sure we'll get the epic clash we've been expecting.

The narrative of the story and the emotion of the characters especially with Ewan McGregor's portrayal of a broken and emotionally flawed Obi Wan Kenobi has made me wanting more. The inquisitors relentless hunt of surviving Jedi and Obi Wan being put in dangerous positions and risking his own exposure to his pursuers draws in from me an emotional connection with the character's which some films and series fail to do. Ewan Mac at his best. Darth is truly frightening, and in general the feel that this is about the Sith more than the Jedi. In Rebels, etc. Jedi always describe the feeling of encountering Sith as overwhelming senses of coldness and anger.

The biggest criticism of the prequelsThe series makes a perfect bridge between ROTS and ANH. In fact, it bridges the prequel and original sequels in a way that finally reconciles the different mood, look, and production quality of the two. The biggest criticism of the prequels was their advanced, almost cartoonish production quality where they original trilogy was gritty, primitive, and dark. Obi-Wan makes this seem not so much like a production choice but a story. The beauty and advanced order of the Republic has fallen. Ben must deal with that in real time. It’s not more content with a kick ass hero. It’s a hero coming to terms with the fact that everything is lost and he’s desperately trying to keep hope alive. Not in the galaxy, but in himself. Only Ewan McGregor could do this. Expand

It feels like a return to form while also being inclusive to new ideas and stories that it chooses to tell. The acting is phenomenal, I commend the actress of young Leia in particular. The series explores the dark corners of one's own inner self and fleshed out what we know about these characters we've known for well over 40 years. The series' tone is dark, but the light of hope runs directly throughout.

Some overly sensitive viewers might have difficulties keeping up with the plot and find themselves sending racist and/or sexist messages to some of the actors - you know, how normal people behave.

All in all this series delivers as promised and brings back many long-time favorite characters and many of the actors that portrayed them in the past.

A tremendous effort, by an amazing cast. Writing is a little on the dry side, but that's only due to the strict constraints of the time frame to be able to fit within what is already canon so doesn't impact the series negatively in my opinion

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show has all of the elements you hope to find in Star Wars-related content. Something that will keep you suspended on the edge of your seat but with enough nods to the stuff you love to make you smile. The Acting from the cast is perfect with Ewan McGregor leading the charge with another great performance that encapsulates a blend of Alec Guinness and The Prequels with new layers that makes the character feel relatable without losing its familiarity. Vivian Lyra Blair as a young Princess Leia encapsulates the very essence of the late Carrie Fisher from her priceless and sharp wit to her inspirational grace wrapped in a youthful innocence filled with hopefulness. On the antagonistic side, we get a very straight-laced militaristic performance from Moses Ingram as Reva a.k.a The Third Sister which (although people have often criticized this as "wooden") I think offers a lot of potential for development, especially into what is left of the series. As for Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. This alone is a perfect selling point. Although what we've seen by this point (episode 4) is very little. Hayden as Vader is a real scene-stealer whose performance carries a level of fear and suspense that makes Vader who he is.

The directing style and decisions made by Deborah Chow have been fun to watch, from the teaming up of Obi-Wan and Leia to the use of Reva as an aggressor and cunning opposition in this almost cat and mouse chase. Overall I can't wait for the remaining half of this series (and if the rumors are to be believed A prospected second series). Sure the show has its slight imperfections (especially probably due to Covid or the regular mixture of opinions found in making TV or Film.) however it's a perfect show to sit back and immerse yourself into.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The main focus of the first season is the conflict between Anakin and Obi-Wan, and the final episode brings the whole first season to a brilliant conclusion. Everything else besides this conflict is just "background music". Some episodes may be silly, not logical, full of cringe moments - it does not matter. All that matters is the conflict, the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan. And the way the last episode shows the final fight is heartbreaking. In this little scene we see the whole transformation of Anakin to Vader in all its tragic, in all its brutality. This outweighs all the other shortcomings of this season.

Besides that I want to address other topics:

1. Obi-Wan found his old strength and overcame his weakness. He now is even stronger than ever, because he could defeat Vader so very clearly and fundamentally - Vader had no chance and Obi-Wan could have killed him; but he is a Jedi and he walked away, nothing wrong with that. In other words: An older white man found his strength, overcame his weakness and is walking firmly in his future. There is nothing "woke" about this at all!

2. There is a scene, where Reva sees the unconscious Luke - and then sees herself in him. The picture of a white boy changes to the picture of a girl of color. This is also a strong symbol, this is also not "woke", on the contrary: it is inclusive in the best way! And then we see Leia, how she prepares a costume that resembles Obi-Wans costume very strongly. This is also a very nice scene and there is nothing wrong with it: Of course Leia can be another protagonist, why not? We have so much Luke Skywalker in the old movies. And it is also not "woke" that an older white man can be an inspiration for a young girl.

3.And then there is this scene with Vader and Palpatine, where Palpatine urges Vader to overcome his past. This is also a very powerful scene: We see the completion of the transformation from Anakin to Vader - and we see once again that Emperor Palpatine is truly the greatest movie-gaslighter of all times.

4. And finally "Hello there"...

I see many critics who don't really understand the universe of Star Wars and the brilliant job that the team did actually put together by making this series.
It's not so simple being a screenwriter, specially if you have such an overwhelming script to be in charge of. Obi Wan's prequel to episode IV managed to build a bridge between a gap from the third to the fourth episode and to give Hayden it's seat near the sunrise, even though he could had more minutes. Plus, the actress portraying Leia will soon turn out to be a great star. Not sure I would call this a failure or at least an average tv series...

Don't get me wrong, this still takes place in that post-RotS, pre-A New Hope safe space that Kathleen Kennedy seems absolutely terrified to move away from, but at the same time it feels tailor-made for those who grew up with that overly-hated second trilogy. It's the Star Wars content I've been most looking forward to for some time now. My favorite character in this massive, media-spanning franchise has always been Obi-Wan, and given what a tiny part he had in the OT that is in no small part due to Ewan McGregor's performance. So getting to see him step back into that role, alongside other returning faces from those same movies, hit all the right nostalgic notes for me while also providing a story with some actual significance in the canon due to the way it shows how the legendary Jedi went from being the broken man we saw at the end of Episode III to the reinvigorated wise mentor who would lead Luke on the first steps of his journey in Episode IV.

So this isn't just dusting off a fan favorite for a quick good time Solo-style, but actually provides the last essential piece of history for one of the franchise's most important personas. Kenobi's entire arc here sees him forced to face the demons of his past in a struggle that's as much internal as it is external. A conflict that ultimately allows him to rediscover a sense of peace, understanding, and his faith. It carries profound themes of self-forgiveness (particularly if what happened wasn't truly your fault), letting go of trauma, and forging a new, healthier path. I hear a lot of people complaining about Third Sister Reva, but while it may be a bit redundant her inclusion really helps to hammer that message home even further.

All the underlying depth of its subtext wouldn't mean much however if the miniseries wasn't fun to watch. Luckily the core dynamic between the titular hero and the child-aged version of a very familiar princess is absolutely charming, and there were still plenty of tense moments that had my heart skipping a beat despite the fact that its prequel nature meant I knew who was in real danger or not. This period in the saga is also excellently brought to life with an appropriate tone of hopelessness and desperation similar to Rogue One as the good people in the galaxy far, far away are forced into hiding or subjugation to survive being hunted.

By far the greatest source of excitement though has got to be Darth Vader. It's been touted across countless films, shows, and literature how those under the Empire's rule lived in complete terror of his immense power, but this is the first piece of the fiction I've come across that's allowed us to see it for ourselves. The Sith lord is simply terrifying here, performing feats straight out of The Force Unleashed video game. Something made all the sweeter thanks to the unfairly treated Hayden Christensen coming back to don the iconic helmet. The action is of a grittier nature than we typically get from the brand as well, with lightsabers getting forsaken for some old fashioned fisticuffs and displays of the force that are more massive and bombastic than anything in any of the 9 films prior.

It's refreshing to receive a project that seems built from the ground up for the portion of the community that's been largely ignored since George Lucas sold the rights to his space opera baby. Especially since it provides the final vital chapter in the history of its protagonist. Those "fans" who have been upset about everything since the first two-thirds of Return of the Jedi are better off passing, as this serves as a continuation to a part of the saga they have no appreciation for anyways. Yet, for those of us who actually like Star Wars? There are a few minor niggles with things like characters inexplicably choosing to not wipe out certain threats or how apparently taking a laser sword to the gut isn't fatal anymore, but at long last we have been given the full picture of Obi-Wan's life, and that is worth celebrating.

Solid depiction of old characters and some new interesting ones. Strong start and episode 3 got us moving even faster than expected to the inevitable conclusion. Looking forward to the last 3 eps.

It can be a little bit cheesy, but that comes with the territory. Ewan is great in his return and brings excellent gravitas. The special effects are remarkably excellent for a streaming series. It's full of easter eggs that link it to the films and Clone Wars/Rebels. Stepping back and just watching this as a continuation of Obi-Wan's story after the events of Revenge of the Sith, it's really cool how consistent it is with the prior films. This is bolstered by the return of actors for even small parts, like Joel Edgerton as Owen. It's also cool to see some of the repercussions of the clone wars and the fall of the Jedi in live-action. This show definitely occupies a unique place in pantheon, and I'm glad they took a chance on bringing this story to life. I will definitely update my review as the episodes keep coming and adjust accordingly if the quality changes as a whole by the end of the series. Expand

Not sure what the fuss is about this show. Didn't notice any propaganda tbh. I enjoyed it a lot. It could have had a deeper story line. Obi-one's PTSR wasn't really investigated, but there were some of the best light sabre duels in the franchise.

The plot/story is pretty good, as Obi-Wan Kenobi has to come out of hiding to save a young Leia from the Empire. However, Leia is just a trap for the Empire to get to Kenobi. It leads to a good story that doesn't slow down that much, and makes for a solid six-episode plot. The characters are really good in my opinion, other then a few flaws I have with some of them. The Third Sister/Reva is incredibly not my type of character, just not a character I could get into. The Grand Inquisitor was also RARELY used, and his only big spot was getting "killed" by The Third Sister/Reva and then coming back for less than a minute combined in the fifth and final episode. Other then that, good characters. Ewan is remarkable as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the kid actors don't do bad at all, infact the kid actor for Leia is great. The music is good as always, Star Wars never really disappoints when it comes to music. And the scenary/backgrounds look good. Bleak when they should be bleak, and really cool looking at other times. The fight scenes are good when they happen, there's only...three lightsaber vs. lightsaber fights, and I think they're all entertaining. My favorite has to be the final episode fight between Obi-Wan and Vader. Overall this is a really good miniseries, and one of my favorites on Disney+ so far. Expand

Or I guess it's "cool" to be negative about everything in this day and age. Were there a few cringe moments and a few plot head-scratchers? Yes, sure but what we got is a show that actually delivered on the "feel" of Star Wars. The feeling that I haven't felt since watching Revenge of the Sith in theatres. Very few shows or movies in the Disney era capture the true feeling of Star Wars like this show has. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is some of the best Star Wars Content. Young Leia is casted perfectly and Ewan McGregor as always is embodying the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi perfectly. I normally don't take time to post my reviews but I saw that the toxic side of the Fandom is trying to hurt the show because of racist beliefs. It must be known that George Lucas originally made Star Wars a message for good fighting against the evil xenophobic (space racist) Empire. Reva is well casted and is a formidable villain but this does not take away from Darth Vader who is amazingly portrayed by Hayden Christensen. Expand

I love the series through episode 3 (as far as they’ve gotten by the time of this writing) and, as much as I’d love to have seen OWK in lightsaber duels from the episode 1, that’s not realistic in keeping with the reality of his situation.
