Pit People is a must-have game for its humour alone. Even though its gameplay doesn't live up to many other SRPGs, the fact that you'll be laughing as you cooperate with a friend makes it one of the most enjoyable and memorable entries in the genre.

This latest Tales title is definitely on my shortlist of the greatest. Watching the story unfold as I travelled the world with a collection of folks from all walks of life was a lot of fun. Thankfully, the developers added some variety in the overworld maps and if the dungeons were more interesting and sidequests played a larger role then I could see this being a contender for one of the best modern RPGs.

As with most SaGa games, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven isn't for everyone but those who enjoy it will love it a lot. Spanning generations and a huge stand-out game world, it's one of the grandest RPGs ever made.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is simply a joy to play with oodles of well-implemented familiar elements for fans, gorgeous graphics, and a constantly rewarding sense of variety that'll leave you experimenting right until the very end.

Long-time Trials fans will find a familiar yet enjoyable game in Rising. It may feature a wealth of content and many truly memorable moments but it still doesn't quite feel like a huge step up for the series.

8-Bit Armies may look like a goofy spoof of real-time strategy games yet it's an impressively in-depth and enjoyable game that both genre newcomers and veterans will appreciate. Plus, the controls are handled perfectly for console.

Deru: The Art of Cooperation looks simple yet its gameplay is mind-bending, challenging, and ultimately rewarding. Plus, its immersive minimalist atmosphere will make you keep coming back to try and master its incredibly clever scenarios.

If you're in the market for a unique racing game and have a soft spot for marble-rolling then you'll have a blast with Mindball Play.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes: Definitive Edition is simply a fantastic adventure that any puzzle game fan should go on.

I love indies that offer hilarity and Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip is one such game that'll have you laughing so much that your face will catch fire.

Momodora: Moonlit Farewell is a great Metroidvania that nails the basics of the genre while offering an unforgettably stylish world.

LEGO Voyagers is an unforgettably lovely co-op adventure that's filled with heart, rewarding puzzles, and light platforming. It can be frustrating and a bit tedious at times but overall, there's so much variety and fun to be had that I still highly recommend playing it.

Halo Wars 2 is an ambitious game that delivers easily understandable RTS gameplay in an immersive way. Genre enthusiasts may be disappointed but there's no denying the amount of fun to be had strategically taking on Atriox forces.

I know it sounds like I'm really down on Bleed 2 but there is definitely still some fun to be had. Shoot 'em up fans especially should love replaying the boss fights and they can work on perfecting their strategy and achieving an S/SSS rank on every level. However, I have to admit that it definitely didn't live up to the expectations I had after playing the fantastic original.

As a huge fan of all things Kunio-kun, I must say that I'm extremely impressed with River City Girls. In fact, it may just be the best game in the franchise. Sorry if you're reading this, Kunio and Riki, but these girls proved to be more kickass than you are.

Playing Paper Beast is like experiencing a Tim Burton style fever dream that'll keep you perplexed and intrigued throughout.

Capcom Fighting Collection features a solid collection of games; particularly, when it comes to Darkstalkers. That's actually its main issue because it could use a lot more variety but considering the package is as fun and sleek as it is, I still recommend giving it a go.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap may essentially be the same game as the original but its brand new graphics and sound make it worth checking out for existing fans and newcomers alike. The extra challenge areas are nothing to sneeze at either.

If Max Mustard was a non-VR platformer, it would be excellent but add in virtual reality and you're left with an unforgettable experience.

There's so much packed into Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege and as you progress, you'll be impressed with how much variety there is to enjoy.

Puyo Puyo 2 refined the formula that its predecessor introduced in such clever ways that its gameplay persisted through the ages.

If the concept of a competitive shoot 'em up appeals to you then Rival Megagun is definitely a solid choice. Although it could have been so much more, what's here is still a unique and enjoyable game. Here's hoping we see more shmups like it down the road.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes is a classic entry in the long-running licensed Lego game franchise that provides solid fun with a friend. With that being said, many of its successors have since surpassed its level of quality so it feels a bit dated in comparison.

I enjoyed my time with Skies of Fury DX and will pick it up whenever I'm in the mood for some arcade-style dogfight action. In the end, I'm looking forward to seeing what the developers come up with next.

Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is an adorable and nostalgic tale of how unforgiving deep winter can be but how with friends, you can make the most of it until spring comes around.

No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES isn't one of the best games in the series but the escape room segments are handled exceptionally well and I had great fun hanging out with the familiar characters.

Run 'n' gun fans who are intrigued with the idea of a collection of thrilling boss fights need to play Mechstermination Force.

I don't anticipate that Kero Blaster will have the kind of staying power that Cave Story has but it's a satisfying and challenging sidescroller that retro gaming fans will definitely appreciate.
