Call of the Elder Gods is, ultimately, a solid sequel—bigger, more varied, more complex, and more ambitious than Call of the Sea. Its puzzles are superior and more elaborate, its world offers greater scope, and its graphics are beautiful. At the same time, that ambition comes at a cost: a less streamlined story that is, at times, overly convoluted. Furthermore, the difficulty level can prove to be a significant hurdle for those unaccustomed to such demanding puzzle adventures. Its hint system—implemented with good intentions—also presents a dangerous temptation in these times when our patience is increasingly thin. It is a remarkable title for puzzle enthusiasts, yet one that demands patience, keen observation, and a willingness to really rack your brain.

FEAR 2: Project Origin leaves us quite an uneven sensation. On one hand it has offered us truly spectacular and full of tension moments, very different from the ones which other games in the genre offer. Moreover, its carefully made atmosphere, fueled by the solid graphics engine developed by Monolith, make the immersion sensation total. The problem is that although FEAR 2 knows what makes itself stand out from the other shooters, it insists on offering quite generic moments during most of the game, and, worse indeed, it's not quite polished.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is, for now, a big yes. After a 'Modern Warfare 2' that was a step backwards and a 'Modern Warfare 3' that clearly had a DLC flavour, Treyarch is stepping strong with this heir to 'Black Ops Cold War', with a campaign rich in references and with very varied and attractive levels that knows how to give the player what they ask for. The multiplayer and the zombies are more than fine at launch, but in a few months the game will be a different story and will be very different with the additions and changes that are made, hopefully always for the better and not spoil anything.
