Over the past year or so the PSP has really seen a surge in awesome role playing games, and Persona 2 is no exception.

It is a nice and solid remake of a good game in an amazing series. The graphics may be a bit disappointing and the story takes a little to really take off, but then the game is simply fantastic. RPG fans will fall in love with the great story and its orchestration. Though not as good as its successor, Persona 2 has a unique game play, including the spreading of rumors and negotiation with demons, and a great variety of personas to be summoned. If you love classic RPGs, you should order the game today and dive into the world of Sumaru City.

Shin Mega Tensei: Persona 2 Innocent Sin is an enjoyable title for series' fans that patiently waited all these years to complete their Persona 2 experience. The game doesn't stray far from its predecessor and the gameplay feels a bit stale compared to similar titles today, but it's still a worthwhile addition to any PSP owner's library of RPG games.

It's a game suited for the brand's lovers, and for JRPGs true aficionados. Some freshness could improve its reach, let's hope in the next chapters.

Old school JRPG with a few unique twists, strictly for genre fans. [Jan 2012, p.94]

P2, while a good game, is very much a product of its time. Players were more willing to overlook a lot of the JRPG's stereotypical frustrations and foibles back in the late 90s and early aughts. With shifts in consumer tastes and the desire for fresher experiences, however, a brand new game structured like P2 -- with its somewhat clunky story presentation and traditional, slow-paced progression -- simply wouldn't fly in the marketplace either in Japan or abroad.

More than 10 years after its original release, Persona 2: Innocent Sin no longer has the magic it once did.

This game stands as a gem in the PSP's library, and is a fantastic entry in the Persona series. The story completely pulled me in, there was just something gripping and amazing about this game. Another thing that I loved about this game is it's soundtrack. This game has an amazing....AMAZING soundtrack!

Overall this game gets a 9.5/10, amazing story and soundtrack, though the gameplay does hold it back a little bit.

A bit different from 3 & 4 (I assume most people will be moving backwards from there). It draws on the earlier non-persona entries where you "talk" with the creatures if you so choose. It also doesn't have the day by day high school sim thing. The story and characters are fantastic. Everyone seems to say the gameplay is dated but I love it; classic turned based. I will say that it's way too easy though. Even on the hardest difficulty setting. It has the same Shoji Meguro as the composer, and it gives the in-game option to change between the original score and more modern scores. Expand

The party members'Persona 2 Innocent Sin is a game with a fantastic story, in fact, it's my favorite story in the sub-series so far. The party members' personalities aren't very interesting at first, but later on, it becomes clear that they are characters with interesting motivations and all share a dark past relevant to the narrative. Another strong point about P2 is its soundtrack. Just like in the other Persona games the music is bliss. There was not much voice-acting but it sounded great when there actually was there.

Now for the cons. unfortunately the gameplay does not live to the brilliant story. It was actually the worst when I look back at every other SMT/Persona game I played so far. the encounter rate was terrible, the fights dragged a lot and there were too many elements/ailments. It took a long time to get used to its very sluggish combat but that wasn't enough to ruin my enjoyment.

Best Persona story, some great characters, good music, and visual presentation. If this port fixed its tedious gameplay, this could have been the best Persona game. Overall still a classic.

Persona 2 is screaming for a remake.

Persona 2 - Innocent Sin presents us a good story, which is on par (if not better) with modern Persona games, but it is kind of confusing for the first part of the game. The characters, while not having social links, feel as deep and relatable as the ones in the future games.
However, where this game shows it's age is in gameplay. While the story/characters for Persona 2 are around an 8, the gameplay is a 4 at best. 80% of the dungeons in the game are extremely easy, some of them only having one path. Demon battles are very slow, and you need to reorder your party every single time you enter a new battle.
The game also wants you to use fusion spells. But it wants you to use them TOO much. Most battles consist of casting a fusion spell and winning the battle - if you are fighting a boss, then use 4 turns for 4 fusion spells - which basically erases the need for strategy.

Overall, Persona 2 is a game that could be way more enjoyable if it got a remake, since while the story/characters are good, the gameplay just shows how some old RPG mechanics have aged really badly.

Persona 2 Tsumi is a trashfire of a game that I am ashamed to have played.

I only give it a one cuz its characters are kinda okay and the music bangs but (almost every) song in Persona slaps (besides P1 PSP and P5 OST)

The story fails to give me any motivation to actually get invested, I'm apparently supposed to just take the **** insane **** that happens in this game seriously? I'm supposed to like the fact that Hitler's in this? Haha no.

The gameplay is braindead easy, all you do is spam fusion spells and you win the game, thats it.

To top it all off, the absolutely diabolical remaster makes every problem with this game worse.
    Worse dungeon traveling
    Worse battles
    Worse translation
    ****ty side quests
And the dumbest **** slowdown (its a **** PS1 game for crying out loud)

I truly hate Persona 2 Innocent Sin, it is genuinely a trashfire in my eyes. Truly a horrible experience.
