Devotion is a pretty good horror game, full of surprises and tension. We didn’t enjoy that much the walking simulator part of it, but we did enjoy it overall.

This is a good shoot ‘em up and a great choice for fans of the genre. It takes some inspiration from Thunder Force, although it falls a little bit short to become its spiritual successor.

We really like the core of Anthem, but not in this state. There are not only plenty of bugs and issues, but also many design flaws and progression issues. We haven’t lost hope, and we really hope BioWare and EA can make Anthem the game it deserves to be.

It is the ultimate dungeon crawler and fans are going to love it, although we miss some additions and a more elaborate story.

Apex Legends is one of the best multiplayer games of the generation, with an excellent gameplay, a revolutionary communication system and fun and satisfying mechanics.

Tetris 99 is the battle Royale you didn’t know you wanted. It’s much deeper than it looks, but it also is accessible. If you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, give it a try.

One of the best visual novels ever made is back with a fantastic new look, and it is, more than ever, a game you cannot miss.

New Dawn still is a very enjoyable shooter, but it doesn’t bring many new things compared to FC5 and it doesn’t make the most of its great setting.

If you like rallies, you will love this game. Its modes are not very elaborate, but the driving experience is fantastic.

Overall, it doesn’t do anything particularly new, but it’s very enjoyable on PS VR. It is quite short, but also intense.

Sunless Skies is an amazing surprise. It is a very solid RPG and strategy game, and its narrative is one of the best we’ve seen in years.

Jump Force is disappointing. A very shallow fighting game that doesn’t live up to the expectations of all the characters and franchises it is based on.

Crackdown is back with a fun game that ends up being quite repetitive. Sumo Digital has done a great job finishing this title, but we expected a more evolved concept after so many years. The Wrecking Zone, at the moment, is pretty much a proof of concept, and we hope this multiplayer mode grows with future updates.

Exodus is the most complete entry of the franchise. It’s imperfectly perfect, mature and has a fantastic narrative that keeps us engaged from beginning to end.

Astroneer is a great adventure if you play it with someone, since playing it alone makes it quite simple and repetitive.

PC players can enjoy now the remake of the first entry of the franchise. It is a good port, and although the game has its flaws, it still holds up quite well.

Gathering Storm offers an interesting take on the formula, with less focus on the martial side of the civilizations, maybe to make easier to reach the modern eras. It is, overall, a very good expansion that brings more Civilization and gives it its own flavor.

It might not be the most original game, but it’s very enjoyable. If you’re looking for a fun, challenging game to share with someone, it’s a good and affordable option.

This is a very interesting metroidvania adventure fans of the genre will enjoy, although it feels very limited compared to other similar titles.

This is a very charming puzzle adventure, although characters aside, it doesn’t offer anything particularly worth highlighting. All in all, it’s a good game.

RIOT is not a bad game, but let’s put it this way: the best part of it is that it’s based on real events. We really enjoyed the concept, but we found the gameplay lacking.

This is a very interesting mix of space exploration and crafting, with some roguelike and shooter mechanics, although its complexity and its confusing menu system makes it only recommendable for big fans of the genre.

FutureGrind is a great idea very well executed, but it could’ve been something much better and bigger. It is, by al means, a original and fun experience, but we hope the team expands it and polishes it in a hypothetical sequel.

This is a fantastic adventure full of platforming, puzzles and combat, with tons of good ideas and creativity. On top of that, we can have even more fun playing it with friends.

There are better and deeper hunting games, but we’ve had a great time with God Eater 3, and it’s a very good choice if you’re planning to play it with friends.

AWAY is a enjoyable roguelite in 3D, quite charming and fun. It has some issues, like its combat, but overall it’s a good option for fans of the genre.

Blackout works great… sometimes. It’s a good experience for Alien fans, but it’s also quite short and its novelty wears off quite quickly.

Slay the Spire is one of the first surprises of 2019. A game that’s both challenging and fresh, absorbing and fun from the very first second.

If you miss Advance Wars, you have to try this. It might not be as good as Nintendo’s franchise, but it's definitely a very enjoyable experience for fans of this formula.

This is definitely a very original title. If you like builder puzzles with a twist, make sure you try this unique game.

Fans of turn-based strategy will find here a solid game that will help us discover some of the most important events in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Being an artisan in Portia is great and there are many activities to do, but it slow pacing and the 3D visuals can become a double-edge sword.

Kingdom Hearts III is exactly what we expected it it be: an amazing game we’ve enjoyed from the very first second to the very last one. We would’ve liked to see a bigger challenge or more relevant extra content, but even so, it’s the perfect closure for an era.

This second episode is a step in the right direction. Some decisions are implemented really well, while some others are absolutely pointless and force you out of the path you chose to follow through the whole episode. Together with the lack of puzzles or superpower-based mechanics, this second season relies mostly on the story (and a really good one) to reach the player.

This is a very interesting and challenging shooter with well-balanced gameplay mechanics. We miss a little bit more of depth and more diverse situations, but it’s a very engaging and satisfying experience.

Capcom has done an amazing job bringing RE2 back. It is a great game and a must-have for survival horror fans, although some of the design choices don’t work that well 20 years later and we wish they had worked harder on making the Claire and Leon scenarios more unique.

Double Cross is great when it’s all about platforming, but the detective sections and the combat make it much less enjoyable. A sequel with some adjustments and a more appealing art style could be fantastic.

Mario & Luigi are back with a classic great adventure, now available on 3DS. Bowser Jr.’s Journey is a nice addition, but if you played the original you’re not missing a lot. Either way, it’s a game that we’ve enjoyed from the very first second.

Pikuniku is a fantastic adventure full of puzzles and exploration. It’s unexpectedly engaging, and even it’s only January, it already is one of our indies of the year.

Feudal Alloy is a good metroidvania that simply works. The genre has evolved so much lately that this title ends up being overshadowed by many others.

Ace Combat 7 delivers one of the most epic, intense and polished entries of the franchise. An excellent title that could only be improved by expanding its multiplayer and its VR mode.

Onimusha still is a fantastic game, and it looks and plays wonderfully. It’s quite short, but very enjoyable nonetheless.

Travis is back, but it tries to stretch out its low budget too much and ends up becoming quite simplistic and repetitive. It’s great for NMH and Suda51 fans, but it would’ve been nice having a shorter game with deeper and more diverse gameplay.

Nubla 2 is a very interesting approach to art through video games and a step in the right direction, but it still has many issues that prevent it from achieving something bigger and better.

Blood Money and Absolution are games we really like for different reasons, and being able to play them on modern platforms is always good. As a remaster, though, it is quite limited… and expensive.

Beat Saber is pure fun. One of the best VR games you can play, great to play alone or with friends. We need more songs, but apparently they are on their way.

From a technical point of view, it’s not a huge evolution, but it is a great opportunity to enjoy an excellent JRPG.

Dusk offers a tribute to old-school shooters with a fantastic level design, frantic gameplay and an excellent OST.

Catherine is a fantastic game, and it being on more platforms is great news, even if it doesn’t offer any new content or relevant new features.

One of the best 2D platformers from the previous generation is back with new features and, of course, the ability to play it anywhere.

The Eternal Castle is unique, different, and very good, actually. If you miss cinematic platformers and its visuals don’t put you off, give it a try.

Fitness Boxing is a good way of training at home. It’ll make you sweat, and would work as something to complement the gym or for those looking for a more moderate exercise.

We’ve enjoyed Book of Demons, and it definitely does something different and fun, but we’re missing that little something for it to truly shine.

Ashen is a very interesting take on the Dark Souls subgenre, with great dungeons, great bosses and a very satisfying progression system.

Two Crows is a fresh entry in the series, that keeps its core and expands it with new ideas. It’s different from the main episodes, but it is worth a try.

Melbits World is a game with great ideas, that can be challenging and complex, but also simple and accessible. It depends on how many people and the type of people you play with, but you’ll definitely have fun with it.

This is a simple but fun 2D platformer we’ve really enjoyed… while it lasts. It’s very short, but if that’s not a problem for you, give it a try.

This is a great platfromer full of great ideas and mechanics. It’s not perfect, but if you enjoy this genre and you want something original, it’s a good choice.

Below is a very mysterious and appealing roguelite, but it’s missing something more unique or deep to truly shine.

Red Matter is a fantastic adventure that manages to make everything interactive. Together with its great setting and story, it’s a very solid option for VR players.

It needs more content, but apart from that, we can’t really say anything bad about this demanding, challenging, realistic and satisfying experience.

Borderlands 2 holds up pretty well, and in VR it feels like almost a brand new experience. The gunplay changes quite a lot, and being in Pandora is really, really cool.

GRIS is a beautiful game, but it is much more than that. It’s an excellent puzzle platformer, with a great level design and a soundtrack that works beautifully with the art.

This is a great action platformer. Although it has some design issues, GnG fans can’t miss this beautiful tribute.

Subnautica is a fantastic survival game, and we could only ask for some minor technical issues to be polished on the console versions. It’s a game that could and should run better on Xbox One, particularly on the X, but the great core experience remains untouched.

EDF is what it is. Fans of the franchise and those who are looking for its weird take on fun will find a very unique game, very enjoyable even with all its flaws.

This is a very limited version, where you barely find any management options, and that doesn’t live up to what you would expect from this franchise.

The Last Remnant isn’t the best RPG from the previous generations, but it is good and original indeed. The visual update also fixes some issues, and makes it look better than ever.

Katamari is back with another great adventure. It doesn’t have many new relevant features or content, but it still is a joy to play.

This classic franchise is back with good ideas and a poor execution. If you are a hardcore fan of the series or you’re planning on playing with friends, have a look at it. If not, better look elsewhere.

Ride 3 isn’t perfect, but it is a lot of fun. We would like to see better physics and a more complex multiplayer mode, but the series has evolved a lot and this third entry is a great option.

The game that started it all is now on PS4 with a very solid version that allows us to enjoy its excellent gameplay. It could be a little bit more polished on the graphical side, but overall works very well.

Just Cause 4 is fun, wild and crazy, and fans of the series will love it, but it can get repetitive faster than it should because of a very poor mission design and a progression system that makes it feel even more repetitive. It’s full of amazing tools to make its map your playground, but there is little incentive to use them.

The lack of racing games on the Switch makes Unlimited 2 appealing, and although it isn’t a bad game, technically and gameplay-wise it comes with too many shortcomings.

Ultimate is one of the best and most complete fighting games ever made, and an incredible homage to video games. This is a fantastic game where every player can find their way to enjoy it. It is an absolute must-have if you own a Switch, and a reason to buy it if you don’t.

The Haunted Island is a very charming adventure. Leaving its short length aside, it’s an interesting option for those who want an easygoing take on the genre.

This is a great action and strategy game, that has the potential to turn into one of the best of the genre. It doesn’t achieve this because some of its design issues, but it is, overall, a great experience.

This third entry evolves and improves the formula to make it engaging and fun. The new combat system and the great amount of mini games make this new episode a great option for Yo-Kai Watch fans.

Monster Boy is a wonderful adventure. It’s a great way to bring back the Wonder Boy essence and adapt it to new trends, while still making it feel classic and nostalgic. If you enjoy old-school action platforms, you cannot miss it.

We miss things like a Story Mode or more (and better) songs, but it is a great rhythm-based game Persona fans will love.

Floor Kids is definetely a very original surprise. It needs some more modes to keep you engaged, but if you want to try something different, it’s not a bad option.

Although the lack of extra content and option is alarming, Toki still is a great game, and the new visuals make it more enjoyable than ever.

One of the most influential indie games arrives on Switch with a great version. It doesn’t offer anything particularly relevant if you’ve already played it, but if you haven’t, it’ll make you experience in a very interesting game the awful reality many people fight everyday.

The Switch version looks and plays incredibly well, and allows us to play one of the best free-to-play games ever made wherever we want… as long as there’s an internet connection. Give it a try on the platform of your choice –you won’t regret it.

Dancing in Moonlight is fun and addictive, and a great choice if you like rhythm-based games, although, obviously, Persona fans will find it more appealing.

Darksiders III is a very enjoyable game, with many good things, but also many ups and downs. It’s a step back compared to its predecessors, but fans of the franchise should give it an opportunity.

It is a very interesting concept thanks to its setting, but the execution is a flawed and it doesn’t always works as expected. The story, the puzzles and the combat prevent it from being a better game, but it’s not a bad option if you’re looking for something different.

I am the Hero is a slightly different take on the classic beat ‘em up that tries to offer a deeper and more technical combat system. It has some flaws, but overall is a great take on the genre.

The Forest is a very good surviving game, although now some of its mechanics feel a little bit updated. However, this PS4 version is a great way to enjoy one of our favorite survival games.

Squishier is a great surprise for PSVR owners. We’ve really enjoyed its concept, although some times the PS Move controllers hinder a little bit the experience. If you’re looking for an original, skill-based puzzle for your PSVR, give this one a try.
